Part 1/2
- Honey could you….. can you help me with…?
- Ughhh Yes sure I just lost because of you so I might as well. - I said in annoyance, it was irritating that mom always calls for help or wants me to do anything when I get in a boss fight or during a wave or anything interesting really.
Well you don’t choose your family and you should stay in line because they supposedly love you and care about you. It’s kinda hard to see that in my family in my opinion. My name is Colin. I'm 18 years old and I love playing games, especially those that involve but aren’t limited to crafting and building. I always loved having some sort of a challenge to abide during any playthrough. For example you can only stop playing after beating the boss or you have to beat a certain game using only a rock without any equipment.
So when my parents started annoying me purposely with chores they could do I just treated it as a challenge, a thing that could test my resolve and my determination. I hoped that helping them with all of this shit they could either do themselves or googling shit they didn’t know they would eventually stop. But noooo my father progressively started treating me worse and worse and my mom wouldn’t just let me rest or anything like that instead in some misguided attempt she came every single day at random hours to make sure that I’m okay.
One day I exploded and yelled at her that she should just shut up and leave me alone. After cooling a little bit I explained that her attempts are unsuccessful and are only irritating me. The very next day the person I once called a Father sent me to a hospital for yelling at my mom. Yeah that’s the way instead of talking you swing your fists, instead of finding reason or I don’t know seeing that my yelling wasn’t caused by mom but by him treating me poorly, no, he assumed that I’m just some ungrateful prick or a parasite who thinks he can do whatever he can. You want war, you'll have it dad.

I went to work after leaving the hospital. It was a simple marketing job at giving leaflets to people. Lowest possible wage per hour calculated by an assistant of ‘CEO’ the person just flat out said to me that I my time of working starts when I’m actually at the place I should be handing leaflets, not from the time I leave the office with the leaflets and accordingly it ends when I run out of leaflets. If this situation ever happens then I’m obligated to go back to the office for more of them and go back to my station at the plaza, of course the time of trip both ways to resupply on leaflets won’t be counted as working time.
I thought fine have it your own way and just at the start of the day I asked at the office for 3 times the amount of leaflets because that’s the average amount we were unofficially required to hand out otherwise we would get fired. After getting those I just took them out of my backpack at the plaza and placed them in such a way they formed a small stool. Then I would just sit on it for the rest of the day playing games. When the time was close to the official closing hours of the office I always headed to the local waste paper storage facility that bought any paper at an average price of 1 dollar per kilo of paper. It was working in such a way to incentivize people into cleaning the environment.
After getting my 5 bucks I always sprinted or tried to look tired back to the office where I always apologize sincerely for being late. My usual excuse was getting way into handing out leaflets.
After 3 months I was fired when finally one bitch decided to follow me and when I refused her blackmail she told the ‘CEO’. For her spying she was fired too because the firm wasn’t doing well so they started cutting corners starting from cheap and replaceable labor that showed disruptive behavior. The disruptive behavior was just a nice corporate word for getting out of the line and being rude or uncooperative. The dumb bitch thought that it was my doing and she tried finding me and when she eventually succeded, she tried to kill me. Apparently she was a rich kid that was sent to a shitty job so she could learn some proper manners and wouldn’t treat others as slaves.

Well the male spouse of my mom at the time didn’t entirely vent his emotions and frustrations by beating me to unconsciousness so when that bitch broke his door and started yelling she almost died. And that is the tale of an asshole that once was my dad and a stuck up bitch who made her daddy send mine to prison, right after she discovered she lost feeling in her legs.
So it turns out the spouse of my mom had a high paying job in the IT sector. And him going to prison forced us to live less extravagantly than before. Simply put, we had to sell the car and some of other stuff to stay afloat. We sold mainly stuff with high maintenance costs. My mom tried really hard to give us a stable life but she couldn’t land a high pay job anywhere so she dumbly settled for 2 shifts per day at 2 different jobs making her health deteriorate rapidly. She eventually died when I was 25. I inherited the house at least what was left of it along with some other stuff.
After a few days of simply doing nothing, not even playing games, I decided to rent some rooms in the house to get enough money to live comfortably. So the great cleaning began. I almost threw up multiple times after finding some dead animals or dead hives under the floor or in the spaces between walls. A lot of young raccoons and rats died at my home without me even noticing. After general cleaning I took the stuff that will be in the rented rooms for professional appraisal and to determine their market price this have eaten away about a third of my funds and another third was taken by lawyer bending over and checking the contract I designed, mainly to check If It would fly in the court and to see If that contract was binding or rather would the roommates after breaking the contract in anyway would have to pay me like after breaking the contract with a corporation.
Apparently It was binding although I would need to pay the lawyer some more to make sure.
Then I just printed a bunch of copies of the contract and started photographing all of the furniture in the house to have a physical proof of their state before any accidents. All of this prep work took me about a month after which I spammed any online forum of the city I was in with the ad I made about the rentable rooms either for an hour or for a year or for an unspecified amount of time. In every case the rent was fairly low and the neighborhood was quite good and secure.
I hoped I wouldn’t get any assholes that won’t pay or anything like that.

Today was a great day. I died. It wasn't a great day because I died. No, it was a great day and I died. One has nothing to do with the other. Enough nonsense. Let's continue with the topic we're all curious about. Why was it a great day? I achieved my dream to transform my real life into an MMORPG. Grinding skills, leveling up, collecting coins, going on an adventure, and making progress on my main quest. The dream of every gamer. And no, I'm not mad. Let me give you some context before we continue. I'll keep it short, for we have more urgent matters to discuss. Art by: Roland Deaconu

Grant Foreman believes these to be the fantasies of history enthusiasts until a rare gold Taiping coin is found in another part of Asia. Grand events are set in motion as Grant's wish for a peaceful college life is interrupted by unnecessarily hazardous adventures, incredibly gorgeous women, handsome dangerous men, and unexplained phenomenons. The thrills of life just don't stop for the university's unlikely adventurer.

The Bird and the Fool
Kesil is stranded very far indeed from his home. Despite a gift from the fair folk that allows him to understand and speak any language, he has very little idea of what’s going on around him (though he likes to pretend he does). But this doesn’t stop him from getting into trouble in the port city of Edazzo, in the ancient empire of Duri, and elsewhere, doing his best to find love, escape snares of ancient magic, and hopefully return home in the end.

Will this newfound power breed cruelty or compassion?Follow his struggle and journey, as he grabs hold of whatever he can only to see another day and another fight. Human nature and morals will be put to the test with each passing moment. When the horrors of the imagination become all too real, the feeble minds of men and women alike are brought to the brink of insanity. If we are the product of our environment and culture, what sort of people will be born of a place filled with violence, nightmares, and horror? Forced to fight for his life, Leo must remain sane. And so does the people around him, if he is ever to survive. Author's note:This is an old version that has been completely dropped in favor of a new and better version. I have learned a lot from written this instance, but I believe the work has been subpar and I can do much better with the story and the premise I have devised. I will be posting the new version on a different page.
