《Kervet, the Oathkeeper》Marcham 30th, 824

These are the words of Hiram, the king of Vazenad and High Larael. After reading the reports of my scouts, I took a whole division and went swiftly to Sar Varok. There, I found a group of wounded soldiers under my banners, resting at the sanctuary. They handed me this diary. I must admit, I was shocked after reading it. I certainly did not expect to read about me there!
The survivors pointed to a dark mountain nearby. Against protests of my officers, I led a search party to the peak. The mountain is very strange. It is made of smooth black stone warm to the touch. At the top, I found a remarkable scene. Lots of stones in shapes similar to body parts were lying around in smoldering heaps. Among them, a colossus of steel was broken in half, his wolf gaze hollow. Finally, a sword with its handle was sticking out of the smooth surface, a smoking skeleton kneeling in front of it.
Soldiers confirmed the words from the diary about the battle and claimed that the Oathkeeper saved them. I have decided to send this diary, together with my words, to the Oathkeepers for the following reasons.
I confirm that Kervet is worthy of remembering in my realm and a statue of him will be erected in Sahadel, the capital of High Larael. The Sar Varok sanctuary will be under the protection of my soldiers until the Oathkeepers address the intrigue on my person described in the diary. If and when this issue will be resolved, I am open to reconsidering this arrangement. Lastly, this diary with my entry will be copied and stored in the archives as a record of the history of my realm.

Fragments of Glass
before the 1939-1945 War, most churches in England had stained glass windows, but despite local people's best efforts many of these windows were smashed in the bombing. What could be repaired was repaired, but in many churches all they could do was reassemble the remaining fragments randomly, with extra bits of clear glass added to eke them out to fill the windows. That is what I imagined for my collection of short stories: fragments of stained glass, bits of robe, bits of faces, all sorts of odds and ends randomly stuck together. And with quite a lot of clear fragments among the coloured ones. Just broken pieces of stories that anyone can look through.
