Winter is close and I was reminded of my mortality by two giant molten ghouls. My only luck was that I was resting on the top of the wall close to the sarcophagus. They did not see me there. It took me ages to light the oath candle in cold weather, but their approach was slow and careful. With my candle faintly burning I let snow kiss my blade. Asilan turned into an icy scimitar, and I dove down from the wall to slam the ice into the hot lava head of the ghoul. He died instantly but the second one hit me immediately with his massive stone hand. I flew into the wall and felt my ribs crack. I recited one of my oaths and Asilan left my hand. With a loud swish, he decapitated the second monster and then flew back to me. It is not fortunate to start winter with cracked ribs. I must wake up the steel wolf somehow.
