Two long weeks have gone by after the most shocking incident with Virtual reality technology happened.

Every virtual reality “game” was put on stand still and all the gaming companies and the international war game, was put under investigation and all the games were put through a massive clean sweep sealing any possible holes that could be used for hacking.

At this time a second news conference has been called by the CEO of Virtual Works where the incident happened. The Nebula, the game in question where said incident happened, has already undergone over twenty clean sweeps by the main AI and several secondary technicians and AI’s.

At this time Malcolm Brim walked out and under the flashes of cameras he walked to the pedestal on the stage.

“Greetings all, we may begin.” He said.

The reporters stood and he choose one randomly. “What has your company been doing since the incident two weeks ago?” The journalist asked.

“First off, before even fixing the game was to log all players out before taking the game offline. It is still running but the server is offline. Then we searched the records and located all the people who were affected by the virus shockwave and called the local authorities to bring them to the nearest hospitals. We have already mentioned this two weeks ago but our company will pay all bills.” Malcolm said.

The crowd jumped up and he chose an old journalist. “What happened to the victims?” He asked.

“I have received the records of the brain activity from our AI as well as the medical records and it was contested that the victims suffered from mental exhaustion from the overload to their brain. Thankfully it wasn’t as strong and victims that were in a comatose woke up within these 2 weeks. The only group that hasn’t and has been transferred to a private hospital at my request is all the members of my own daughters crew. They are all still in comatose as they state is more serious for having taken the strongest burst of the energy near the epicenter before it could dissipate.” Malcolm replied.

“What is their current state?” the same man asked.

“At the moment they are under intensive care and brain scans and other examines to examine their situation.”

The crowd stood again and the next question came from a young lady.

“How long before the game is online again?” She asked.

“Our specialist and AI have done several dozen sweeps of the game and are still doing more for extra care. The came is estimated to go back online next week after the final patches have been installed. It will also include updated information and a new situation on the galaxy with the coming of the Xetra threat.” Malcolm explained.

From there many different questions flee which he answered until someone came and told him it was time to leave to which he didn’t even waste an extra moment.

Malcolm leaves entering a police escorted reinforced vehicle which Proto was driving with Magi being inside in the back.

Letting out a deep sigh he leaned back.

“Problematic…” Magi said.

“I know but we need to explain or there will be further unrest.” Malcolm said.

“Gonna visit?” She asked.

“Of course, Proto.” Malcolm called.

“The flight is already planned sir, i also worry about master Noland and young master Noah.” He said.

“Yeah, I hope they wake up soon. As for you Magi, do you plan to enter Nebula anytime soon?” He asked her.

“Mn! Finding ship.” She said.

He nodded, the location of the ship is hard to find even after so many sweeps it is taking a long time to locate the ship the others were flying before warping.

Soon they reached a private jet which was heading to the city that the crew was in. They were all transported to the most advanced Hospital with the best technology in the America and then some.

We all get in and the plane soons leave the ground.

Travelling by escorted ambulances Noland and Noah were inside side by side and were breathing shallow breaths while the medics in the ambulance were breathing roughly.

“My god! What was that?” A nurse asked.

“Readings said it was a seizure but to me it was like they were both being attacked by a fucking demon in a nightmare or something.” A male medic said.

“Hope this doesn’t make them worse for the wear.” The nurse said.

“We already put restraints and the medical bracelet will keep track of any possible symptoms or attacks they may have.” The medic said.

With a nod they take deep breathes and watch out for the two men.

After another hour the ambulance finally reached the massive private hospital that the crew was being transported to. The two men didn’t have any other attacks while under the effect of sedatives and were properly transferred to the hospital and transported to separate rooms in.

After some prepping each man were soon taken to the MRI to get the initial scans to compare to the records obtained from the very first scan done by the common hospital.

As they returned to the rooms they were assigned the others of the crew had also already arrived and each one was put through the MRI and placed in different rooms.

Around 7 a shocking thing happened where four of the crew, Noah, Noland, Alex and Meghan all began to thrash about but sedatives were put to calm them down.

With 24 hour nurse care each one was looked after but during a period of time when the nurse taking care of Noah left his body unexpectedly moved and slumping and firming his legs off the bed he dragged himself to a different room and stood over the bed before collapsing over the bed like a puppet with its strings cut.

It was only five minutes later where a commotion happened that they found him over the bed that Sophia was laid down in. None of them knew how he got here but they transported him back to his own bed.

“Magi, it seems Ami has found the ship's location.” Proto says a bit after the plane landed.

“Mn, will go. Be in room.” She said.

“Alright, Proto, take care of her and don’t let anything bad happen to her body while we are here.” Malcolm said.

“Of course sir, come there is a car prepared, Magi, you were upgraded recently with a wireless router that can work everywhere but if not the car has a mobile one so you can login from here.” Proto said.

She nodded and looked at Malcolm pulling his sleeve. “Permission for advanced customization?” She asked.

“Granted, but not going overboard.” Malcolm said.

“Android with psi?” She asked.

“Only with enough Psi gates to match a dwarf at the start.” Malcolm replied making her glum but she nodded.

Seeing she had gained permission she scoots over to one side of the car and rests her head on the door, which was firmly locked, and closed her eyes.

As they leave the robot girl connects to The Nebula via a back door and logs in as a player.

"Oh! Took you long enough!” A spunky little redhead said appearing from the darkness.

Magi touches her head making a screen appear and she tosses it at the approaching girl hitting her on the forehead leaving a straight light since the window was thrown spinning like a disk.

She held her head with tears in her eyes while crouching for a moment before calling the window over. It was video feed of Magi getting permission for an android with Psi technology installed already.

"Where to?" Ami asked.

"Sophia's ship!" She said.

"Can't teleport you directly even if Malcolm wanted. I can introduce you differently and you will get the same results." Ami replied.

Magi nods agreeing. "AI log in code obtained... forced login of capsule AI pertaining to Star Comet crew." Magi said in a robotic tone.

"What are you doing?!" Ami shouted.

"Need workers... AI will help." She said nonchalantly “work.” Magi said.

“What do you need them for, did you forget they need to be ready for when the others return?!” Ami complained.

“Still in Comatose... estimated time of awakening... unknown... need repairman.” Magi said and pointed at the android body.

It was clear what that meant, an android at the start has an operating time of 4-6 hours if they are working a lot. All Magi is getting extra is the Psi tech, nothing more or less, the stats will still be really low.

“Tch, fine, when you reach the door of the ship i will personally activate them.” Ami said with a childish pout.

Magi floated over and pat her head then her chin.

As if a chill ran down her spin her appearance changed and looked like a beast man catgirl from second life. With fur all over and a slightly cat like face but retaining a lot of human in her look she slowly gave in until the last moment and where she vanished and appeared back in the human form huffing.

“Damn it!... Almost got me damnit!” She cursed huffing.

A small smile appeared on Magi’s lips before she waved her hand and a window appeared asking if the character customization was done.

She looked at the android for a moment, her current look was the same as her robot body, 12 years old with navy blue hair and eyes.

She looked down at the thin jumpsuit that was part of her beginner equipment.

She waved her hand and that jumpsuit turned into a slightly bulkier space suit. Then she split her hair into two long ponytails. She looked at bit and nodded.

“Seriously, this is plagiarizing…” Ami said.

This was clearly copying Hat***e M**u

“Hmpf.” Magi said and snapped her finger making the hair and eyes milky blue instead of navy blue and her pale skin turned touch tanner to a more healthy color but she didn’t like it and turned it back to the pale ice princess look. With the milky blue hair and eyes it gave her a mystic appearance which she was happy about. She customized the space suits look to have a kind of robotic look where glowing lines were around the body until she was satisfied.

Ami sighed and shook her head. “Seriously, only you to hack into the systems just to give your beginner armor a unique look.” Ami complained.

“Beat me… then talk.” Magi said and nodded taking a look with a small smile.

Ami grinded her teeth. What Magi had meant was one of the personal VR games the two girls created on some extremely far off planets at the edge of the galaxy. The world was isolated and the two acted as goddesses of two races and guided their people to rule. The winner would be the contest winner and Magi, with her extensive library of knowledge on combat, teaches her people extremely well in the flesh, while Ami doesn’t have as much real world experience acts like the great ruler overlooking her people from high above.

Up until now the two have a record of 10,345 wins and 4,392 loses for Magi and the opposite for Ami. As such, Magi’s planning skills are far beyond Ami’s and is able to lead her people to advanced technology much faster. Because of this, she enjoys a few perks when plays one of the official games such as being able to customize her equipment. At the moment she made it that all the armor she wore would gain that same mystic look. This was to make her stand out like a goddess which she particularly loved though she didn’t normally demonstrate it.

Finishing with her character creation, both the real one and the new avatar vanished with a flash.

A grin appeared on Ami’s face after the loli robot girl was gone. “Let's give her a crashing welcome.” She said and began to set up the introduction.

On Magi’s side, she found herself inside a tube like capsule and outside was countless lights flashing of stars and ice particles passing. Leaving the beautiful spectacle to pass.

A moment later, everything stopped and the speed suddenly slowed down making Magi crouch but a sudden acceleration caused her body to bump around until she steadied herself.

”She will pay…” Magi thought as she saw the shuttle parts break off and her transport capsule went straight into the side of a wrecked ship.

It slammed into the side and stuck there. After a moment the transport capsule popped open after the air pressure was ejected.

She was a bit beaten and would get payback for this but she stood up. She was in a bad mood but started to look around as her robotic eye focused here and there taking everything in. Eventually she spotted the ship far off.

“Target found… beginning plan.” she said into her own mind and aimed herself to the first waypoint she marked for herself and began to glide through space towards the ship.

After ten minutes of gliding through space, she reached the ship's airlock and tried to open it. Not succeeding, she connects to the ship's systems to look for the AI’s but found none online. Irritated, she about to burst but at that moment the ship began to stir as the power started to turn on and the lights inside turned on. Several other things began before Magi heard a voice.

”Violation of systems and hacking will result in instant reaction with deadly force!” The voice of the AI without intelligence.

”Crappy VI... can’t distinguish friend and foe without being programmed.” Magi cursed in her mind.

She closes her eyes and logs off and appears in front of Ami in the dark space floating and instantly a monster sized fly swatter appeared and without warning squashed Ami. While in the daze a bug net came and caught her and put her inside a net case.

“Hey! What was that for!” Ami shouted from inside. She tried to blink out but she soon realized this was Magi’s isolation net which cut her from the system when she pissed off Magi.

“Time out!” Magi said .

“Buu!” Ami complained pouting while floating in the center of the net while trying the undo the program around it that would take her several minutes.

Magi turned and waved her hand making numerous windows appeared.

"AI log in code obtained... forced login of capsule AI pertaining to Star Comet crew." Magi said in a robotic tone just like the first time but this time uncountable windows blinked in and out of existence until it all vanished with Magi as well.

She opened her eyes and a moment later she heard a voice. “Greetings miss Magi, I had never expected to be dragged in here without Alex.” Xeno said his voice holding the utmost respect since she can erase him if she wants.

“Xetra model AI Xeno… Open!” She said in a cold tone through the communicators.

A moment went by as the air inside the airlock was withdrawn and the door opened for her. She stepped through the airlock and feeling the gravity under her she smiles lightly. Moments later the door closes automatically and the air flowed in before the other door opened for her.

“Ship layout.” Magi said and a moment later a detailed map of the ship with each level stated and all the things inside each one was given.

She showed interest in the hydroponic garden that should have the Psi Flying Fish so she walked over but what she found was rather surprising. The fish that shouldn’t be more than a palm large was around half a meter long and slowly floating around. What was even more strange were the plants which had a kind of reef plant feel. Some looked like anemone and others looked like bioluminescent above ground plants. They flowed strangely as if wind existed inside.

Trying to get a reading on everything she couldn’t recognize anything. Then it clicked, this was a result of the energy wave. It mutated the life on the ship. Instantly she felt worried about the crew and asked for all their locations. All were in the bridge so she headed there and found the collapsed bodies. Each released waves of Psi which leaked from their bodies without stop. It caused the room to be rather rich in psi.

Magi moved close and examined each of them and found that they all had their psi gates literally popped open. She didn’t have psi controlling skills yet so she wouldn’t be able to seal them up and moving them is also difficult until she can properly upgrade this body.

As much as she wanted to take them to their beds, her weak body wouldn't support them as such she simply fixed up their positions and checked their conditions.

After make sure they were either sitting upright or laying on the ground straight she got up.

"Request location robot building area... access to all robot schematics." Magi said with a robotic tone.

The information in her view changed and marked the hangar. Then a line showed the way to a spot where the lift would pass through the floor and worked as an elevator.

She left and headed to it and Xeno lifted her to the hangar as she shifted through the data.

Up there she found all the robot parts and so on even finding the Psi generator.

Checking her internal systems, she found her own psi generator in her chest replaced the electric motor androids used but it only produced enough psi for her to function.

Seeing this she moved around and gathered some parts and first and foremost made a magnetic boot for herself then took Noah's psionic metal components to make parts to repair herself with.

Repairing the partial damage she got from Ami's stunt she looked around and moved to the hangar door.

"Activate energy shield... open hangar... leave door open." She said.

Moments later the shield was up and the door opened for her.

"What are you planning to do?" Lia's voice suddenly asked.

"Primary objective... obtain temporary bodies for current AI population... AI function code one regulates capsule AI possess all skills their player has but gains no exp." Magi said and jumped out towards the wrecked ships to start scavenging.

In the real world Malcolm reached the hospital and upon arriving he found confused doctors and nurses.

"Is there a problem?" Malcolm asked.

"And you are?" An older doctor asked looking Malcolm over.

"I am Malcolm Brim, i had my daughter and seven others i asked to be admitted here." He replied.

"Ah Mr. Brim, it's good to meet you. As for what happened? It's rather strange, we located the young man named... Noah Collins, collapsed over the bed of your daughter. We looked over his readings and the cameras and saw he had stood up but there was no fluctuation in his readings." The doctor said.

"Thats..." Malcolm began but didn't know how to reply.

"Don't worry, we examined him again and found nothing wrong with him or your daughter." The doctor said making Malcolm calm down.

"Can i see her?" He asked.

"Yes, of course, i shall lead you personally. You all, meet me later, for now go back to work." the elder said.

The others left and Malcolm was led by the doctor to the room Sophia was sleeping in.

On her arm was large metal sleeve. All around it were several bags with clear liquid inside. These machines replaced the large numbers of machines that previously existed and made moving the patient easier with less risk since all the machines were integrated to it and sent the information to a different computer in the same room.

Malcolm saw the pale skinned girl and his heart tightened seeing his only girl in such a situation. His wife died giving birth so all the love he would have given both was directed to Sophia. Now seeing his daughter in such a situation caused him to grieve.

"I will find whoever did this and make them pay a hundred fold!" he said to himself in his mind.

At this moment, the door opened drawing the attention of the two men. The voice from the nurses outside caused Malcolm to be on guard.

"Quickly restrain him!" Someone said but the person in question still walked into the room eyes fully open but looking into the eye you could see the pupils completely closed.

The two men gasped as they saw Noah walking in while one of the more burly male nurse trying to drag him back but he simply walked forward as if nothing was holding him.

"Release the boy now!" The elder doctor said after he saw what was happening.

The nurse saw who ordered this and released Noah who slowly worked to the side of Sophia's bed with everyone present.

Slowly his eyes closed and like a puppet with its strings cut his body fell half on the ground half over Sophia's bed.

Seeing this the nurse waited for orders and the elder waved him way. The male nurse carefully supported Noah and took him back.

"What was that?" Malcolm asked.

"You tell me, this is the second time we saw this, the first time happened two days ago when he was admitted to the hospital after all his tests." The senior doctor said.

"Is it only him? How is his condition?" Malcolm asked.

"Seizures every 3 hours but after he came walked into this room the first time he spent nearly 12 hours before the next one. Constant thrashing during sleep, possibly nightmares, that is something we found all eight of them underwent." The doctor said.

Malcolm found it very interesting, this new fact. "Do you use Virtual reality capsules as a form to monitor brain waves?" Malcolm asked.

"No, most of the time we just do initial tests and when things happen. Virtual reality technology in the medical field, even now, isn't widely used and only experimentally." The doctor said.

Malcolm, obviously, knew of this as Virtual Works is the first company to introduce Virtual reality technology. His father and him have both invested in a broader range of uses for virtual reality technology but even so it's still mostly experimental. Only things like school in virtual reality and the war games have been done and accepted greatly while the medical field is the least accepted due to the risks.

"I wonder if you may be interested in the experimental medical capsules we use to monitor the brain wave patterns. With Nebula appearing the capsule AI all possess individual personalities and monitor the brain 24/7 especially during the seizure." Malcolm said.

"That is something we need to speak with the board of directors. It is not up to me." The senior doctor replied.

Malcolm looked carefully at his daughter's peaceful sleeping face and a determined look appeared on his face.

"Is it possible for you to schedule a meeting with the board. As selfish as it may seem, i want the best for my daughter and if it helps here the medical field may take a step forward." Malcolm said.

"I shall see to trying. I will let you spend some time with your daughter while i have my own work to accomplish." The senior said.

"Thank you for your time and i hope we can work together in the future." Malcolm said receiving a nod from the doctor.

After the doctor leaves and Malcolm sits down and takes the cold hand of his daughter and sits down next to her and speaking about her mother like he did when she was little.
