Out of the three days i had to learn to reinforcements, it took me 1 day for each of the reinforcement buffs i needed to learn.

Just so you know, it took me about 2 hours, surprisingly, to feel what the structure of topaz psi felt like. After i had discovered the vibrating thing, i tried to vibrate the psi inside the crystal but that failed miserably.

Anyway I hadn’t noticed that making the reinforcement took nearly 6 hours. Now knowing how to activate the skill i can reinforce my fist in under 2 minutes. Yes i spend the day, during work, training this skill by activating and deactivating it.

The next night, after i had returned to my room, i began on the next buff which would increase my defense by reinforcing the skin. Colonel said to focus on the arms since you normally use your arms to protect the face or impact zone.

To get the skill i had to reinforce my skin from the top of the shoulder down to the end of the gloves. I barely managed to get an arm done before it was time to sleep, but it was enough to get the skill.

I gained another level in Inner psi manipulation and Psi Reinforcement, reaching level 3 and level 4 respectively.

The next day i got started on the muscle reinforcement.

Though it should be isolated muscle reinforcement, considering you punch with the entire arm, which meant using all the arm’s muscles, i needed to reinforce it entirely before reinforcing the muscles so i don’t break my arm while using my boosted strength.

So i reinforce my arm from the wrist to the shoulder, then focus on my biceps and triceps. Since they work together there is no point in not focusing on them together.

From the start of it to the end i reinforce those muscles. With that i gain levels in the psi manipulation and reinforcement skills and the last of the three skills Colonel required.

At the end of the fourth day we all gathered and Colonel tested us on each skill. About half of the 30 actually managed to get all three skills. Of these, 10 of those who didn’t learn them all learned 2 while the remaining 5 had only learned 1 skill.

Like he promised, those who didn’t get all the skills were taken by a second dwarf to do their punishment but i bet it was an excuse to make the parts as well as to train them with psi and other skills.

“Alright you remaining brats. You all should have level 4 inner psi manipulation by now, Right?!” Colonel asked shouting.

“YES SIR!” We shouted.

“Good, now though i said Psionic tech needs minimal level 5 in inner psi manipulation, you will try and break it in with level 4 since you´ll get more by forcing it.” He said.

I look at the glove and think what it would be like.

I try to push the psi into the glove. I was met with resistance but it felt similar to when i was first releasing my exits.

“Before we start, those a you that haven’t opened all your psi exits will spend the next few days doing that. Those of you which have already done that start training. You need to be able to push your psi into your gloves and boots.” Colonel instructed.

With his instructions some of the people removed their gloves and boots. I cringe when i see them do that with their gloves since the pain is going to be a bitch after opening other openings.

Since i did that already, i find a corner for myself and take some breaths then i start constructing a dam around the joint of my right hand using the reinforcement skill. I simply block it off with what i consider one of the strongest walls i would ever see. I even tried to push some psi through it by was happy to see none leaked through unless i broke the psi dam i built.

With that i flood my hand as if i was using the basic reinforcement skill and make sure that there is no spot unfilled.

“Already then, let’s do this.” I mutter.

NOAH!! FIGHT!!

Ignoring Lia i focus on the 9 exits that were being closed by the glove.

Gritting my teeth i finally push the flooding psi with the exit as focus. At once an indescribable pain began shooting up my arm. I feel some psi starting to leak like the exits had been when i first started. Though my own exits were opened with the psi entering the glove it felt like i was adding something to my hand and that other thing was still closed off from me so i needed to rip it open but i was feeling the same pain as if i was trying to open a closed gate.

I figured that the easiest method to break the gloves resistance was to repeatedly hit it with waves of Psi.

My arm was going numb and after i had slammed several more waves of Psi into the glove the arm went limp, though i could still move my psi. But since i feared the consequences i stopped and stopped my attempts to open the gloves gates.

I get up with my arm limp next to me. All the feeling in it was gone, but after a few minutes i started to feel that prickling as it slowly started to return. I sigh and walk around looking at the robot's. It was during this time that even though it was called the dwarven fighters airfield, it wasn’t limited to just dwarves here since there were other races working here as well but if i put it into proportions, dwarves were 85% of the people here, 15% all the other races except Tosk since this station and planet don’t provide a liveable environment for them since the station and the planet are cold and have no atmosphere.

After some time the feeling in my arm returned and i could move it again.

Since i wanted to know how far i got i tried probing the glove and found the gates, I’m calling it gates cause i actually asked and found it was called Psionic Tech Gates. Truthfully the real name for the Psi exit’s in our bodies are also gates, Psionic Nerve Gates more specifically. I called it exits before since i had only been pushing the psi out but after absorbing some into my body i found it more natural to start thinking of it as gates.

Anyways, checking the gates i discovered that they were about half open, compared to the size of my nerve gate. Yeah there is a size, specifically how large the gates are and how much psi can leave at once.

Up till now i hadn't really been caring about the size since the pain was huge but i moved a small bit to one of the gates and filled just the opening and began expanding the gate. I felt some discomfort but the feeling of the easily expanding gates as i push them open made me a bit frustrated by how much pain and suffering i went through to open it.

After 10 minutes one gate had been completely opened and i could feel my senses expanding to a part of the glove.

I reach out to all the gates with some irritation as i send psi out to all of them and slowly start widening the gates apart by simply expanding a ball of psi inside the gates.

In just under an hour i had all the gates opened and started to breathe a bit deeply since i didn’t feel anything more than discomfort from all this, yet i had gone through torturous pain to unseal my nerve gates when it was this easy.

I even went to my already open gates and had the psi rotate and was able to shave off a bit more since the edges were “rough”.

As i was feeling my senses extending into the glove, psi slowly flowed into them and out of the Psionic tech into the gloves and started to reinforce it all the way to the gates and then into the first .

I could barely contain my resentment at not being taught the proper unblocking method. If i hadn´t been in space i would have punched the ground.

Still, i looked at my stats since i had gotten a huge boost in mental stats.

My current psi capacity could be thought of as improvement to say the least. My stats as well were really over powered for a Level 1 but i guess skill outdoes level in this game. I noticed that over the last few days I´ve had my stat boosts focused on mental stats instead of physical ones. Maybe i should try and get some physical training to up my strength.

I had accomplished the task and so i went to look for Colonel but not once did i think about undoing the reinforcement on my fist.

When i found him he was drilling some dwarves who were sparring with the large robot's.

“Sir, I´m done!” I said from behind him.

He turned to me confused.

“Done what?” He asked.

“I accessed the psionic tech and can now freely move my psi through it.” I said, hiding my rage.

He looks at my hands and feet and although i didn’t notice before there was a subtle glow from a few lit up parts.

“So it seems. You got some talent kid, to manage that so quickly.” He said.

“What is the proper method to opening it and don’t say flooding the gates, because i did it differently!” I said my anger starting to show.

“So you founda less painful way, eh? We don’t tell newbies how it's done since we want to see talent. The method we use is to form a ball inside the gate and slowly shave away the sides as it expands.” he explained.

“So i was right.” I reply.

“Yep, still you´re probably tired from figuring out the trick so rest up a bit. If you don’t want to, you can start making parts for android repairs, they´ve been getting more upgrades recently so you´re gonna need lots of parts now.” he said.

I nod, finally undoing the reinforcement since he was truthful with me. Still, i want to punch him anyways but i need this extra time to get ready or i might not get enough parts.

Jessica PoV

Looking around me i looked at the expense of trashed machinery. Currently i´m standing in the scrapyard. The scrapyard wasn’t actually inside the main space station but in an outpost a few kilometers outside of the back side of the ring i stay at. This one has lots of armed ships coming in and out of it, but to reach this outpost i had to pay a ship to bring me here.

Uncle Noland has to pay for space gear but the benefit that Androids have is that we don’t breathe, so we don’t need to pay extra money for stuff like that.

It’s been a few days already and i had finally gotten enough money from collecting salvageable parts to afford an upgrade to more durable parts. It should increase the amount of time between the repairs. I actually need to go 3 times a day now, but with these new parts i will hopefully reduce it to one time a day.

Anyway, with the magnetic boots working i walk around the piles of scrap looking for salvageable stuff and soon enough i encountered some android bodies. These were NPC because their bodies were rather advanced.

I grab some wires and hooks and toss it towards the area they were in since it was down a junk cliff and i was in a 0G area.

Hooking it to some trash nearby and making sure it was tight i deactivate the magnetic boots and pull myself to the bodies and activate the boots to make sure i don’t fly off.

I look at my left arm for a moment before the armor and skin plate opens up and allows access to some tools. This came as basic equipment. Since the inventory doesn’t hold many things it was made like this.

Hey hey, Big sis are you going to need help with this as well?

The message was from my AI. She acts like a little girl at around 10 years old and calls me big sister. That said, she is a really big help since she can show me lines to help and what part should be removed first.

Oh right, for Androids we don’t get com modules. Instead we get systems like Chats and phones which are the same things but they´re installed directly into our body. As for my AI, she appears as a full sized girl but only in my own view. It makes it easy for her to point something out for me and show me.

I think this was one of the things to balance the starting of the androids since we can be called very weak when compared to other races at the start.

Big sis i found only one of these androids that are salvageable.

“Thanks Vivi!” I tell her and walk over.

It was the body of a man, so i probably can’t use many parts for myself but selling stuff would work, maybe i can have Noah install it into me.

I remove a tool from the case. This was made specifically for opening robot and android parts. I pop the chest open and start looking around. There were some parts i had seen Noah handling and they still looked usable so consulting Vivi she guided me into removing them. After that i store them in a metal bag i had and open the head. Just as expected, it was more advanced. I had Vivi show me an imagine of what the inside of my head is and stuff i can make use of as upgrades. Her scanning skills weren’t omnipotent.

Sorry sis, i can’t tell you anything about these small electronic parts, you will need to remove them all if you want to be sure. For me to be able to check we would need to install a scanner into one of your eyes.

“I know, at least you tried so it’s fine.” I tell her.

Still, here is how you look inside.

She brought up an image of me without the back part of my head where my hair is attached. Looking at it, i examined it and then the man. Seeing several stuff similar to mine i carefully remove the parts that were in least disrepair. As for any new parts, i took some of the newer parts as well since i can have them scanned.

I continued to the arms and legs and found a few more parts i could sell or use myself if they get repaired.

At the moment, all the parts hunting has netted me a profit of over 1200 credits. My total is 2200 credits. I split with uncle since he comes and helps with the heavy stuff i can’t lift. Just cause things are in 0g doesn’t make them any less light. Mass remains the same no matter what level of g force it’s under and if you don’t have the strength to move that mass it won’t react, even in zero gravity.

I keep dismantling the android removing his parts until only broken parts are left.

One of the things i did want to take out but were broken were the Psionic nerves Vivi had identified. Those were part of the psionic technology that the dwarves used to make their armor and weapons.

It was a shame but there was nothing left here.

I unhooked the wire from the spot it had spun around and pulled myself up to the ledge i had been before. I stored the wire after wrapping it up and started to look around.

Roktar: Jessica, found something interesting for us to tow back and get Noah to start working on, come see!

Uncle called and said something interesting.

Jessica: Where are you?Roktar: Having Olivia send the coordinates to you.

Olivia is uncles AI. Soon enough Vivi appeared holding a “paper” map of the scrapyard.

The scrapyard was around 20 acres large, more than 80,000 square meters large.

What is kept in this are normally old husks of tools, robots, ships and all kinds of machinery.

He is about 200 meters from here.

She says and points to where i should go and vanishes only to appear near the edge of where i could see over the hill.

I walk over there and follow her directions. After a bit i reached a large wrecked ship. The size was rather large. It seemed to be a space shuttle and was about 15 meters wide, 40 meters long with a height of 12-15 meters which was hard to tell since some of it was buried, that looked like to 2 floors plus a cargo bay separate on the underside, with the pilots seat on the top floor. There was a single pilot seat at the front but the main body was wider and seemed to have two floors. However there was a large hole on one side of the ship and it seems critical systems had been stripped from it.

I walked around it until i was standing in front of the hole where i spot the really tall giant dwarf.

Roktar: In here, come check this ship out!Jessica: Isn’t this ship a little too damaged?Roktar: Not at all. Compared to all the other ships and robot's here this one is still in good conditions. The really important stuff like FTL drive and other important systems are gone, probably stripped to be used in another ship but about half of the ship is still intact. It will give Noah a good place to train his ship repairing and building.Jessica: Shouldn’t we hire the mechanics of the station to rebuild the ship?Roktar: And you want to be the one paying? Even though you can convert real money into game money the conversion is 10 dollars for 1 credit. A ship this size would cost at least 90,000 credits just to get it to be space worthy without the FTL drive and the actual drive would cost us another 70,000. You really willing to pay 1,600,000 dollars for all this?

I looked away and blushed. I may be well off but to waste that much money like this is not an option.

Jessica: How much for the tow?Roktar: Shouldn’t cost more than 1000 credits so i will use my starting money as an investment and once you are safer i will go take contract fighting jobs to gain some money.Jessica: You don’t need to do that, i will pay half.Roktar: None of that! You need your upgrades and if i remember right the one for more durable parts costs 2500 credits. I will not have you paying. Remember, i built up some of my own money coming here with you everyday. I can pay the tow myself and then i will contact Noah. We can split the docking tax so don’t worry.Jessica: Yeah but what if i want to pay?Roktar: Then i will state that i want the ship by myself and not with you and tow it back myself. Your money is for upgrades so use it for that!

I sigh but just nodded seeing as he was being hard headed.

I see uncle start to call someone so i tell him i’m going back to the ship. He waves me off and I turn off the magnet boots and jump horizontally so that i can float through space while heading for the edge where the ship that brought us was docked.

Half way through i see a large ship pass overhead heading to the place where Uncle was.

That had probably been the tow ship. I wonder how much it takes to buy the scrapped ship. Well i didn’t have to worry since it passed over me again towing the wreck towards the station. I reached the ship that transports us here. I can take what i want for the price of 50 credits no matter what it is as long as i can get it out of the machine and into the ship.

Skipping the boring 10 minute flight back to the docks, which were on the outside of the cylindrical body of the station. The docks didn’t have gravity or air so you already needed equipment to counter this in order to go anywhere from here.

I spotted the large wreck as i exit the ship and uncle was there with officials signing some papers.

Jessica: Done yet uncle?Roktar: Just need to register this wreck under my name and pay a docking tax of 250 credits. I´m going to be busy from now on since it’s a weekly tax.[tr]

i frown at this still on his back was a filled backpack but there shouldn’t be much that would be salvageable since he doesn’t have dismantling or mechanic skills. I learned the basics from my technician teacher since i needed know how to build stuff in order make weapon blueprints but he didn’t.

I enter the station through an airlock on the side and instantly find some mechanics waiting.

These people buy parts from scrapyard divers.

“Hi lass, got anything to sell?” one of them asked.

“Yes. One moment.” I tell him.

I deattach the bag that was attached to my armor through a few latches. I then opened it and began to remove the parts i wouldn’t need. A few mechanics looked interested and started to examine the parts.

“My, what a haul this time!” a human mechanic said as he was looking at some of the android brain parts.

“Aye, this part will be useful for some personal part i've been making.” A dwarf said.

They each started to claim their parts and i called up a price manager and registered the parts which were given a rough price for each.

In total i got around 600 credits from this cargo. That put me at 2750 credits, well above the amount needed for the upgrade. I’ll see later about the other parts i didn’t sell.

I tell uncle i was going to get the upgrades and then head to the elevator already starting to feel the damage in my body.

I got back to the ring luckily already inside the market area. This was the place that had several android upgrade shops. I head to one that was run by a friendly couple who specialized in this.

“Oh my, if it isn’t Jessica! Did you come for an upgrade as well?” The elderly woman that was the cashier.

“Yes ma’am, i would like the durability package.” I tell her.

“I see, well come this way. If you have any parts that are from the scrapyard or were purchased beforehand we can reduce the price if they can be used.” She said as she led me into a room.

I put down the bag i had and showed her all the extra parts i got.

“My my, quite a few good parts here, let’s see.” She starts splitting the parts into two piles.

“This pile on the left we can use on you since they are generic parts used in nearly androids but on the right are parts of a specialized combat android so unless you head that route you should sell them to someone that wants to do that.” She says.

This made me happy since the pile i could upgrade myself with was quite large compared to those i should sell.

“Thank you for the help ma’am, how long before i can get the upgrade?” I asked.

“Right now of course!” Said an old, rough but gentle voice.

The owner of the voice was the old lady's husband, owner of the shop and top mechanic of the shop.

“Come lay down so we can get to work. Also i can buy those parts from you, they are some good stuff so using your own parts and taking the them into account your upgrade would cost only 1200 credits. What do you say?” He asks.

“No, i will keep the other parts. I have friends that can use them so i will have to decline sir.” I replied.

“I see, well then the upgrade is 1800 credits.” he said.

It made me perk up seeing how much the difference cost but then again that just goes to show how expensive a new part would be and how much he would gain from selling it after completely repairing it to top shape.

“Alright then let’s get working. Lay down lass.” The elder says but i store the parts i was keeping before attaching it to my back where it fit naturally and would remain locked under all case unless i say so. I had the displeasure of noticing the elder’s eye twitch.

I then lay down and open up all of my bodies plates showing the systems.

“Well we got damage as well.” the elder said.

“Just returned from scrapyard diving.” I tell him making him nod.

“Well no problem. We will be changing all your parts anyway so it makes no difference.” He says and tells his wife to bring a large box filled with parts.

From there it was a process of over 3 hours of rebuilding my body completely with more durable parts.

“Alright, done!” He says finally finishing my body.

I smiled seeing the upgrade as well as the additional upgrade from the extra parts i had. The resilience will allow me to work much longer without needing repairs. Just hope Noah can repair the parts since just adding weaker parts won’t do from now on.

I pay the elder for his work and happily leave with the 750 remaining credits i didn’t have to pay since i had extra parts. I contact uncle after this.

Jessica: Uncle! Did you finish the paperwork?Roktar: Went well. Said we can keep it there as long as we are repairing it. Asked a mechanic to make a list of what we need. Sadly most of the ship wiring and 50% of the plating will need to be changed not to mention most has to be removed so we can pass the wiring. Then the inner walls have been damaged and but we need to remove them anyways to fix the stuff inside of the walls, so we pretty much need to rebuild the ship but at least we have the main hull and will only need to pay 250 credits between me and noah.Jessica: Don’t even think about it! I’m helping out. With 3 people we can split and survive better. Since i had a jump in my stats i can go without uncles protection at least in the scrapyard so you can go do bounty hunting jobs in space or planetside. I’m going to be focusing on technician skill training for now anyways. Need to start thinking of upgrades for my own body. Tell Noah that i will be coming less often but when i do it’s with scrap and blueprints that i want to try to be made into upgrades. I’ll pay him for it.Roktar: Sure thing, will inform him and good luck.

With that resolved i turn off the chat and head out to further train my skills and get started on making plans for upgraded parts and weapons.
