《The Dungeon Hive- Volume 2》Part 27- The Oni Charge

“See! We told you idiots we should have a welcome sign out there!”
“Oh please, we do not need any stupid welcome sign!” Another spirit immediately retorted. “The humans found the entrance easily enough!”
“Something that’s useless if they don’t come in! Now we will admit that it’s just a matter of time before the humans come in but a welcome would get them to come in faster.”
“Why do we care? Time means nothing to us. Putting up a flaming ‘WELCOME’ over the entrance is just a waste of energy.”
“Waste of energy?” The spirit asked incredulously. “You mean compared to amount we wasted on those two demon statues?”
An Earth spirit within the hive immediately responded to that. “Hey, keep our statues out of this. Both of them turned out great.”
“Yes they did,” the spirit admitted. “But only after you Earth spirits spent massive amount of energy creating, molding and fine-tuning them. Compare to that how much would a flaming sign going to cost?”
“A lot when you consider the cost of keeping the sign on. It is just not efficient use of our energy.”
“Are we not the Fire Hive? Since when do we care if something is cost efficient? Are we those morons at the Kar Mountains? No! We are the Fire Hive and we spent energy like it is nothing!”
“…uh, you sound almost proud at being wasteful.”
“Yes and what about it?” The spirit asked. “Why are we suddenly making a big deal about…effectiveness? Cost effectiveness means nothing to us. We are the Fire Hive and WE ARE PROUD TO BE WASTEFUL!”
Huge cheers rang out in the hive as many spirits found themselves in agreement with the spirit. Once the cheers died down, the spirits began discussing ways to make the welcome sign. The spirits against the sign were greatly outnumbered and had no choice but to go along with the majority. That was until one of the spirits noticed a strange thing happening at the entrance.

“What are they doing?”
The moment the spirit asked the question, the rest of the hive also noticed the strange movement of the demons. A big group of them were at the first room located just after the entrance and there were even a few of the redundant experiments. The Fire Hive knew that the demons had begun calling the creatures the ‘T-Rex’ and for the most part they were fine with the name. To the Fire Hive, the T-Rexes were failures so the hive never bothered to name them. The demons could call them what they wanted. The spirits within the Fire Hive quieted up as they focused on the strange group. Then a demon covered with black fur stepped forward. The Fire Hive remembered who this was. A few seasons ago, a group of humans came to the volcano and among them was a strange human warrior who used only his fists to fight. The Fire Hive was very intrigued by the warrior’s strange way of fighting and decided to change him to a demon. After the change, it named him Hellmight. The spirits thought it was a fitting name.
Now they were wondering what he was doing? Hellmight stepped towards one of the T-Rexes who lowered his head to the demon. The black demonic bear patted the T-Rex on the head before giving it a smile. Then the T-Rex raises his head and Hellmight leapt onto the back of the T-Rex in one smooth motion. The spirits within the Fire Hive were shocked. To the spirits within the hive, the T-Rexes were just failures in their quest to create a powerfully-unique-fire-flinger yet it seem that the demons had found a use for them. Although they were never designed to be mounts, the Fire Hive had to admit that Hellmight looked very impressive and comfortable on the back of the red T-Rex. Had the demons been practicing without the Fire Hive noticing? The spirits had to admit that this was possible. Usually after they created something, the spirits would promptly forget about them. The Fire Hive usually just let their creations figure out a role for themselves as it jumps to the next creation. Perhaps it was time the Fire Hive begun paying some attention to the going on within their homes.

Not knowing about the interest of his Master, the demonic bear known as Hellmight looked at his troops and the Fire Hive noticed that the demons with Hellmight were the gigantic hairy twin horns demons he had been training with. All of them were armed and armored. Some of the spirits within the Fire Hive were expecting Hellmight to give some sort of heroic speech but the demonic bear surprised them by simply shouting out some questions.
“WHAT ARE YOU?”
“Overwhemling!”
“WHAT ARE YOU?”
“Notorious!”
“WHAT ARE YOU?”
“Invincible!”
“WHAT ARE YOU CALLED?”
“ONI!”
By now the Fire Hive knew it really need to pay more attention to the going on in the volcano. That had to be rehearsed. Just as it was going to ask Hellmight what was going on, the demon bear pointed at the entrance of their home and shouted one word.
“CHARGE!”
As one the Onis roared the name “ONI” and charged towards the entrance. In the lead was Hellmight atop the charging T-Rex. History would know this as “The Charge of the Onis”, the first recorded battle of the Demon race. Led into battle by the fist-fighting Onikuma, founder of the Martial Arts class, the greatly outnumbered demons launched a surprise attack on a human army and decimated it before quickly retreating back into the demonic lair known as “The Demon Mountain”. It was a battle of great historical significance that Demonkind would forever by proud of. Their creator, the Fire Hive, however was less than happy about the battle.
It had lured the human army to Mount Morningstar with the express interest of getting them to come into Mount Morningstar so that it could kill and absorb the humans. Now the demons were going outside to attack the humans? That was terrible for the Fire Hive and what was worse was the stupid fact that the Fire Hive couldn’t really blame the demons. The Fire Hive had never actually told the demons not to attack the human army!
“Oh wow!” One of the spirits within the hive said. “We really screw that one up.”

Of Frost and Steel
After being kicked out of home by her own parents, Emily found herself living in the house of an old woman while working as a plumber to help pay the bills. Her slightly unusual but still very normal life came to an abrupt end one day when an incoming car crashed into hers. When she next opened her eyes, she found no ambulance or hospital room waiting for her. What she found were instead the faces of beings much larger than her who were not entirely human, and the opportunity to live a new life, free of her old one. WARNING: This fiction is dedicated to a friend of mine who spent twelve years of her life hiding who she was because she feared the reaction of her family. For this reason it contains LGBT themes, although they won't be the sole or main focus of the story. The story contains sexual themes, but I will try to keep them to a minimum or make them "fade to black". Chapters will be around 1000 words long and without a fixed release schedule, for the moment.

The Records of Eternity: The Traveller of Worlds
There probably won't be anything much for Traveller for the next while as I honestly don't have much of an idea of what the hell I plan on doing. While I wait for another spark of genius for this I want to get out some chapters for my other works, which I do have an idea of where I want to go. So instead of stressing myself out over this bottleneck, I will be focusing on other stories until I breakthrough. The Traveller of Worlds is a tale that tells the adventure of the young Saxon girl Millie Von Augustine, though she has another name. Millie is the eldest child of the Augustine family, a noble family in the Kingdom of Saxony. Although being a woman she was barred from succeeding her father as head of the family. In addition, she has been treated rather poorly by most of her family due to her tomboyish personality. But one day as a youth, she met someone in the woods behind her house, and this encounter would forever change her fate. Moving this to have a new chapter at a minimum of every three weeks as I have started another project full time. The cover artwork was made by Nez Illust, check their page for more their stuff. You can find more information on the universe of The Records of Eternity at https://recordsofeternity.wordpress.com/ I will also be posting any updates on how things will proceed and random other thoughts pertaining to the series on my website.
