Chapter 5: Negotiation And The Private Talk
When carriage which carries John comes to the meeting, Princess Sheria walking towards it to greet Lieutenant John Brody:
"I hope you enjoy the long journey, Sir John! Now please follow my lead, I have something to talk with you, the meeting will be started soon!" - Princess Sheria reminds John to follow her
The meeting will be held outdoor, in front of John's eyes now are two chairs that been place opposite to each others, Sheria invites him to sit.
John then notices the almosphere around him is a bit unsual, Sheria starts sitting on the chair, beside her is Lady Nodrian, her guard, Strategist Roberto and General Dalshik are standing behind to him.
"Princess! I don't want you to make this talk so solemnly so please just talk normally." - John says to Sheria
"If you say so!" - Sheria starts straight to the point
"I'll brief it to you, my kingdom is at war with Aloss Kingdom and Tigar Kingdom."
"So?"
"The army you had fought yesterday was a part of Aloss Kingdom, they thought me and you had formed an alliace to each others so they decided to attack your soldiers!"
"But I never said that I would make you an alliance, so you mean two of my soldiers got killed because of that misunderstanding?" - John seems a little angry towards Sheria
"I'm very sorry to hear that, Sir John! I didn't know that misunderstanding would lead to that tragedy!" - Sheria tries to calm John down
"The reason I invited you here ,Sir John, is to form a official alliance between your army with our Kingdom!"
"Why? I want to know the fully reason about it!?" - John demands Sheria
"20 years ago, a region named Aloss in my country had secessioned, that was a problem of our country, but Tigar Kingdom had supported that secessioned country, they brought the army to our homeland and forced us accepting the independence of that country."
"Tigar Kingdom had sponsored Aloss Kingdom very much, after accepting the independence of that country, Aloss Kingdom demanded to have more lands, the Tigar Kingdom was so strong so we lost alot of lands."
"The only one way to stop the war is to give them lands or treasures, this time they attacked my homeland again and I cannot stand it any longer!" - Sheria talks with a strong voice
"Please, Sir John! Please lend me your power to stop the invasion to my country!" - Sheria begging John solemnly
"This is so sudden, I want to have more time to think about it!" - John replied
"Thank you very much, Sir John!" - Sheria thanks you, her eyes are about to have some tears

Suddenly, two more horses come to the meeting, there are two people dismount the horses.
"Those are two emissaries from Aloss Kingdom, they came here today for the negotiation! I would like you to join too, please!" - Sheria whispers to John
Sheria lead those two men and John to another place, that area is more wider and have two chairs opposite for two people, one of two emissaries sitting on the right chair, the other standing behind him, John sits on the left chair, behind him is General Dalshik.
"My name is Hermann Vott, one of two emissaries coming here today for the negotiation with Starvina Kingdom" - The emissary sitting on the chair introduces himself
"And my name i-"
"Even if you have surname, that not mean you're a noble, know your place and shut your mouth off, you filthy commoner!" - The man named Hermann scolding John
Then Hermann grabs a letter from his pocket and gives it to Princess Sheria
"Read it!" - He shouts directly to Sheria's face
Sheria didn't care about him and snatches the letter, she later gives it to General Dalshik and orders him to read. General Dalshik going around John and Hermann and about to read the letter but then.
"Forget it! I bet you people didn't know how to read either, I'll brief the details inside the letter." - Hermann smugs about it
General Dalshik seems didn't care about what Hermann said, he keeps walking around, his eyes focusing on the letter.
"My Ruler, King Deglan demands you, the one that sit on the chair to bring those powerful magic tools that your soldiers own, the metal bird that can fly in the sky, also 4 metal boxes that can run as fast as or even faster than horses to his castle!"
"If you present those things for him, a Peace Agreement between Starvina Kingdom and Aloss Kingdom will be signed immediately, the truce will be valid in one year!" - Hermann done the talk
"I think there is some misunderstanding here, I never said that I ever form an alliance to Starvina Kingdom so my troops cannot be a part of it, your King should reconsider it." - John explains
"You, you filthy commoner don't have the right to order My Majesty to do that! But fine, keep enjoying your last days, you, your troops and Starvina Kingdom will be wipeout of the history line in the next few days!" - Hermann is about to smile but he holds it
Look likes General Dalshik has done reading the letter, he holds the letter in his mouth and standing between John and Hermann, then he draws the sword out of his scabbard with a very fast speed and slices Hermann's throat.

John rolled out of the chair and drawed his pistol which is always loaded and aimed to General Dalshik, he thought General Dalshik wanted to kill him but no, General Dalshik sliced Hermann.
The other emissary was about to react but he was stopped by Sheria's soldiers and Lady Nodrian, Hermann's throat is now bleeding, blood spurting out violently, drenching his clothes, he tries looking at Sheria last time, tries to say some words but dies before he could do it.
General Dalshik cleans his sword by wiping it with the letter, the letter is now covered with blood, he then gives the letter to Princess Sheria, she takes the letter and go towards to the emissary that is now being hold by her soldiers, Sheria then gives that emissary the letter that is covered with blood.
"Remember all these words, the King you're serving is just a fool, he is just a man who always wants to take away someone else's achievements without fighting for it!" - Sheria announces clearly to the emissary
The emissary then mounts on his horse and rides away with a terrified face, John is now done looking, he turns back to Sheria and her people, they're showing cheerful laughs, he also enjoys laughing with them.
After that negotiation, Sheria also invites John to her castle, the castle is very high and big, then she invites John to Princess's Meeting Room, which is only the important people allowed to go in there.
Sheria wants to have a private talk with John Brody, she orders her guards leaving that room, even her closest guard, Lady Nodrian, also have to leave the room.
"My Princess, at least please allow me to stay here with you! - Lady Nodrian worries about Sheria
"I'll be alright, just go outside, Nodrian! It's an order! - Sheria makes her voice more higher
Lady Nodrian seems very unsettling about it, she later accepted to go outside but she will do eavesdropping John and Sheria conversation in case if her Princess got attacked by John or something like that, she'll have enough time to react.
Sheria then pouring tea and invites John to sit with her to hear her talk.
"I'm very ashamed when my country, which is more stronger than Aloss Kingdom but has to humble them, let them taking our lands, our people, our sacrifice away from us! But at the time I met you, Sir John! Thank you, I'm now know what I have to do, is to unify my country under a flag, is to fight against the invasion of Tigar Kingdom!" - Sheria thanks John with the deepest words
"Would you like to fight alongside with me, Sir John?" - Sheria asks John one more question
"Why me?" - John asks Sheria
"I see you are very similar to General Dalshik, you're very brave, even more than Dalshik himself, you're also not afraid when even talking with the people who have more social status than you!"
"And the last thing, I can tell by looking at your eyes, you love fighting, you was born to fight!" - Sheria answers to John
"I won't force you to join fighting with me, Sir John! You can have your time freely to think and decide about it, even if you refuse, I won't do anything to harm you!" - Sheria explains to John
When John was about to leave Sheria's room and go back to his troops, Sheria asks John one more time:
"Where are you came from exactly, Sir John Brody?"
"What do you mean by that?" - John notices to her question
"First, before we met you and your troops, there was a shine of blue light came out from the forest at the direction you later went to my group, the blue light was very high and bright, can be seen from very far away!
"The 2nd, you and your people didn't speak any Angriskian language but we can understand to each others!"
"The 3nd, you and your soldiers clothes are very odd, you're are not wearing any metal armors but green high quality fabric clothes with green spots on them!"
"The 4nd, your transports none of them are like creatures but objects that are made of iron but can run faster than horses!"
"The last one, your "Magic tools", none of them have magic stones on it but they can create powerful destructions!" - Sheria done her explaination
"You're right, Princess!" - John seems very impressed to Sheria's intelligent
"But like I said, I won't do anything to harm you! Would you like to have more meeting like this, Sir John?" - Sheria waiting for John's answer
"I'll looking forward to it!" - John accepts Sheria suggestion
"It's very interesting to talk to you, Sir John! We will meet again, soon! - Sheria says goodbye to John
"Have a good day, Princess!"
When John opens the door for going out, Lady Nodrian is standing doing guard outside, she pretending like she didn't hear anything from their conversation, John ignores her and go back to the carriage which will drive him return back to his platoon.

Recovery of a Life
The prince of a kingdom was erased from the world. His very existence an enigma. Follow Xopil as he forces his life into a world that refuses to acknowledge his presence. I tried to write a novel without including all the standard things you find in certain genres, or if it is included, I hope it's at least a fresh take on it, this includes me breaking the fourth wall, probably too much. I'm wondering if that helped with humor at all, and also reconsidering if that should be a part of the story. I'm going to be rewriting every chapter at this point... and that chapter I'm extremely disappointed with could likely be deleted if not redone entirely. Now that this story is marked 'completed', I'll be going through each chapter and fleshing out the story a bit, as I found it severely lacking, and I've been saying to myself "I could have done more with that." way more often than I should be. And that speaks to my own dissatisfaction with my writing. I make no warranty-express or implied-as to the quality of these chapters, or the story as a whole. Cover art by Roman Valeyev
