《Rise of the Lich!》Chapter 36 - Simple Plans*

"She's pregnant! My dear wife is pregnant! It's here! The ultimate prove of our love, our connection, the fact that we were able to have sex! It's finally here!
It took us a while though. A pretty long while. Like, maybe fifty years? 57 I think. The reason for this seems to be compatibility problems between humans and dragons. I tried a lot of stuff to get her pregnant, like eating dragon meat before sex as an example. It all didn't work though.
But I finally found something that works! Lhysi Powder made out of a Lhysi Flower! I was looking around the Grand Library inside the Magical Capital of Zauberhof when I finally discovered this great stuff! This flower is extremely rare and is used in the creation of chimeras. It seems to make mixing DNA easier, what helped me achieve my goal!
Diana is incredible happy right now, I hope I'll be able to find another flower so that I'll be able"to grant my child a sibling! “
-From Jeff Rutherions 'How I raised the Strongest!'
*Sirius POV*
It's going pretty well.
I'm of course talking about my plan.
This plan of mine is really quite simple and easy to understand, yet also very effective. First, I levelled my Necromancy skill. So that I could raise this skill faster, Saxin gave me a small patch of spiders to invade smaller villages with.
We simply attacked the villages by night after I build a wall all around them out of ice, then we killed the people inside and I took their souls as well as their corpses with me. After that I just simply raised them all. It took me a bit longer then I thought but I finally managed to reach the advance level in necromancy.
This gave me another three very useful spells. First of all, I can now use 'Raise the Dead' which allows me to permanently raise and undead soldier. This spell is incredible useful! The amount of undead I can control at once is not infinite though. Only one undead per 300 Intelligence. So right now, I'm able to maintain 22 minions. That's a pretty small amount to be honest. But it's enough. Every single one of those is as strong as an level 400 – 450 Adventurer. Together with the fifty spiders I got from Saxin, I'm pretty dangerous right now.
Originally I wanted to just take all 500 spiders she could give to me and raid a small town. But I scratched that idea after thinking a bit more about it. If by any chance a stronger adventurer of the S-Rank happens to be inside one of those towns, I and my small army would be done for. Well an A-Rank Party is probably already enough to stop me.
Anyway, I can't risk that. So instead, I decided to move in a smaller group. We always attack when the night comes and are gone before the sun rises. We only attack villages that are near forests since we can quite easily escape if someone strong appears in that way. The mobility skills those spiders have are really high, even inside the forest where other creatures and mounts have to slow down.

All in all everything is going pretty well. Except a small thing that really annoys me.
The spiders themselves. I honestly have a small problem with their 'free will'. They are not mindless undead like my minions and only follow me since Saxin ordered them to do so, because of that I had some problems with them.
I ordered them to not completely kill the humans but use their web and poison to immobilize them, but some of them like to just immediately eat humans whenever they come across some, which is rather bad for me. After all, if they eat the humans they kill them and if they kill them when I'm not nearby the soul of said human fades away before I can collect it.
I countered this behaviour a bit by giving the Hungry Stone to one of my minions. His job is to just run around with this stone strapped to him so it collects souls from all over the place after their vessels have been broken. Sadly, that wasn't enough. Some souls still faded away because of the greed of those spiders so I had to go a step further.
I ordered that whoever immediately eats a human outside my or the stones range will be killed and fed to the undead. My minions don't have to eat or anything like that, but I just thought this was a rather fitting form of execution for the spiders. Death by eating because they ate. Kinda funny if you think about it isn't it?
By the way, they were really shocked after I fed their first comrade to the small rotting horde. Seems like they thought I wasn't serious.
Well I was.
Now, a second problem arrived directly after the first vanished. The spiders don't like me very much. 'Cruel' 'heartless' and 'monster' is what they all call me.
How idiotic.
Of course I'm a monster, but so are they. So there's no problem with eating humans but if one of them is killed they get angry? Is it because they are from a different species? Whatever, it's getting annoying. Being called cruel by a spider really feels bad. It's also kinda strange when they call me heartless, since technically speaking they are not wrong. I also lack lungs, a stomach and really all organs to be honest. So you could even call me brainless I guess.
…
Forget that last sentence.
I have to get rid of them. Maybe I should kill them and raise them as undead spiders? I'll need to create my own spell though since there is no 'Raise Spider' spell. Creating your own spell is very bothersome and can take quite a big amount of time but I should do that in the future.
However, we are currently setting up the next attack. I already got a bit more then 1.500 Souls inside my stone by the way. I'm still kinda confused about that to be honest. It's very obvious that the Demon King planned that I would use this stone to save souls within them so I can freeze them later. There's just no way it could be a coincidence, right? But why would he help me? And how does he know that I eat soul anyway? Did he observe me? Was it maybe him that got me to the Everbloom forest?

I have no answer to this questions so let's focus at the thing I CAN do.
I finish the preparation of my Ice-Barrier spell. I rise my hands which is the sign for my minions and the spiders to go in and begin. Making the undead ride on the the spiders was a great idea by the way. People are really freaked out if they see something like that coming their way!
I still have to get rid of them once I'm strong enough though. Don't get me wrong, I still want some thinking and clever minions like Doro but I just don't like the spiders.
After confirming that the spiders went in I finish the spell and walls of ice surround the village. Seems like only very few noticed something happened since most houses stay dark and only a few bright up. My soldiers begin to attack the homes of the humans.
They break into the houses with raw force and bite into the people or use webs to capture them. Whenever one of the humans actually tries to fight they get mowed down pretty easily by the riders. Sometimes a human is so strong that the poison and the webs are not enough to take him out. At those moments he has to be killed! This happens very rarely though and usually the holder of the stone can get over to him before his soul fades.
I meanwhile stand guard at the only exit and stop whoever tries to escape. This way of fighting is simple, repetitive and boring. Very boring. I'd much rather attack a bigger place to face a challenge but Saxin prohibited the spiders from doing so.
Why?
Because it's dangerous.
Like, are you kidding me? What the hell? I'm already being whipped by her a few weeks after our marriage.
Fuck that.
As soon as I don't have to rely on the spiders anymore I'm going to attack a really fucking big town to show her that I'm more than capable to handle such things. I'm going to impress the living shit out of her!
…
I shouldn't care that much, right? Well it doesn't matter. After all I st-
"Oh? I already found him guys! Kasai come and help me out here! Yami, Hikari and Mizu go wipe the undead minions and spiders inside the village out. Make sure not a single one survives. You can kill the other people if they are in your way." ( ??? )
Hm? Seems like someone finally found the exit. Well I was starting to get bored so that's fine. Hm? What's up with this guy? He doesn't seem scared at all. Now that I look closer at him he looks pretty strange...
This guy in front of me has a very pale skin tone and almost white greenish hair as well as cold grey eyes. He wears his strange pale green clothes rather loosely and holds a curved sword in his right hand. His stature is pretty athletic and he's also rather tall.
All of a sudden another guy appears next to him. This one has red hair and eyes as well as dark skin. He is rather short at about 160 centimetres and carries an axe that is actually a bit bigger then him.
…
Who are those guys? They don't seem to be simple villagers or simple adventurers...
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" (Sirius)
"Heeeeh? Asking questions? I somehow would have thought you'd just start attacking us. Seems like you actually have a brain! How convenient! This way it's going to be a lot more fun crushing your skull." (Mr. Curved Sword)
"HAHAHA! Yeah let's burn this fucker!" (Shorty)
"Aren't you rather rude? Can't you at least state your name before I rip you apart?" (Sirius)
"WHAT?! You? HAHAHA try me, asshole!" (Shorty)
"Heeeeh? Well I guess we are quite rude, hmmm? Let me introduce us. My name is Kaze also known as the murderous wind and this here is my good old buddy Kasai also known as the killing flame. We are the Elementals and were send here because you have been quite the bad boy Mr. Necro" (Kaze)
"…I see. Can you please not call me Mr. Necro? You make it sound as if I have some very unhealthy hobbies." (Sirius)
"HAHAHA Good one!" (Kasai)
"Hehehe." (Kaze)
…
Were they really sent my the prince? They seem more like bandits than soldiers. Anyway, let's call some help to be sure.
"Doro! Get over here!" (Sirius)
After yelling the ogre immediately runs to my position. I usually let him roam around the villages we attack so that he can pick up whoever somehow makes it out of there. He gets to me in a matter of seconds and takes his place besides me.
"Oh? Is that like your best friend Mr. Perverted Necro? Are all your friends spiders and undead? You need some humans too you know?" (Kaze)
"I'm an undead myself though” (Sirius)
"Heeeeh`? That can't be true, right? Well, let's begin shall we?" (Kaze)
"Let's go LET'S GO!" (Kasai)
I have a bad feeling about all of this. Well, I guess I'll get that challenge I was just yearning for, huh?
…
I really should be careful about what I wish for.
