“There once was a Great Shadow, as black as the night sky and as big as a great mansion. This shadow was feared by many things for its clever mind and great power, but the shadow was saddened. “Oh, how my soul yearns for friends! For a Family!” the Great Shadow cried. But one day he found a solution to his problems and yelled in excitement, “I shall create my family! This way I will never be alone!”

The Great Shadow took a sharp blade and cut himself to create three smaller pieces. “You shall be my children and I will be your father!” the Great shadow declared. The shadow children were very happy and the smallest of them said, “Thank you, papa for creating and loving us! We will be forever thankful to you.”

And so, they lived in peace with each other for a while. But then, on one fateful day the father had to leave. “Papa! Take me with you!” the smallest and sweetest of the children yelled. “I'm sorry, son but I can't. The place I'll visit is not a safe haven like our little castle. Stay here and be good.” The Great Shadow sadly said as he left them inside their great castle.

A few days later he returned and rushed towards his children room to see them, for only they brought joy to him. But what he found was only the smallest of his offspring. “Where are your siblings?” He asked. “They are both together, papa. Care to join them?” his beloved child answered. The Shadow nodded in agreement and the little boy showed him a bright grin as his head started to swell up. He grew bigger and bigger and bit his dear father in the leg, separating it from his body. The father screamed in pain and the little sweet boy said, “Shush, papa. Do not worry, you will soon join my brother and sister! We will also never be separated again, papa.” The father showed an expression of fear as the boys’ head grew even more. He swallowed him in a single bite and gulped down the Great Shadow.

And thus, the King of Shadows was born”

*Sirius POV*

...So, I'm still alive?

Well, I guess since he didn't want to kill me he wouldn’t throw any deadly flasks at me. Though I have to say I was so sure about that when I felt that pain. Man, did that hurt! I think I know what was inside that small flask, it's called 'Water of Judgement'.

This nasty stuff was invented by the church and is able to inflict great pain directly onto your soul. By the way, even if it's called 'Water of Judgement' it doesn't have anything to do with 'judgement'. That's just a stupid lie the priests of light are spreading to impress the peasants. Stupid humans, even their religion and priests are liars and assholes. I think it's time to open my eyes, I can't keep them closed forever after all.

I slowly open them, I still want to know how that works by the way and look around.

I'm certainly not where I was before losing to the pain. But just, where am I?

And where the hell did Shadowfang go? I'm still inside a forest, but this one is way different than the one I was just a few minutes ago. The one I came from had simple trees in it, this one though has some very special properties. Some of the trees here have blue leaves and white trunks. The grass and other plants around those strange trees have a blue tint to them, instead of being completely green. There also many insects flying around but to my surprise, no nasty ones are present! Only small butterflies and colorful dragonflies! There also some other equally nice to looking insects here that I never have seen before.

I really feel out of place here...

I mean, just imagine me sitting here, surrounded with weird colorful stuff! This place looks like it comes straight out of a book for children!

Hm?

Something strange and violet is flying towards me. Wait, could it be?! I- is that a fa-

“Hey, why is your head so strange? Why is it so cold around you?” (High pitched voice)

It's a fairy! Are you serious? I'm in the Everbloom Forest, the land of the fairies? No wonder this place looks like a small paradise. The lands of the fairies are a sacred ground, protected by the elves. No one is allowed inside there since the elves believe that this would only defile this holy place and corrupt the small ones.

How the hell did I get in here?

“Hey hey hey hey! Can you not talk whitehead?” (Fairy)

“Oh, sorry. Erm, my name is Sirius and who are you?” (Sirius)

“Lila! My name is Lila! Can you answer my question Syrup? Pretty please…” (Lila)

“… it's Sirius, not Syrup and if you want me to answer them you'll have to answer some of mine first” (Sirius)

“Oki doki, Siri!” (Lila)

“Siri-us! Don't forget the -us please. So, what are those Strange blue trees here all around us.” (Sirius)

“Do you mean the Soul-trees? Those are trees fairies, like myself have chosen to carry their soul in! By doing so the tree grows stronger and prettier and we fairies get a life-long home! Do you want to see my tree?! It's really beautiful! I gave her the name Astrid!” (Lila)

The small bug gets increasingly excited and tells me more and more about 'Astrid' It's annoying so let's blend her out for a bit. So, fairies can separate themselves from their soul? How? And more importantly, can I still eat it? I interrupt the fairy that was in a heated discussion with herself about the advantages and disadvantages of having a woodpecker at her soul tree.

“Is this tree yours?” (Sirius)

I point to one of those Soul trees nearby.

“Hm? Oh yeah that's Astrid! Isn’t she cute? But beware, she’s pretty shy!” (Lila)

I stand up and quietly walk towards the tree. After getting close to it, I indeed spot the very familiar small glowing orb but there is a small difference. The orbs I absorbed until now where white yellowish or a bit blue. This one here is a bright colorful pink! I wonder if that means something? Let's try putting it into my ring.

“Isn't she beautiful?! She's so big and strong! Haha do you see her branches move in the wind? That means that she likes you! I knew you were good guy even though your head looks kinda fun- ...e- ergh... huh?” (Lila)

The annoying speaking bug finally shuts up after I took the soul into my ring. Seems like it still works like a regular soul despite the strange color. What really surprises me is that the fairy is still flying next to me.

How is she not dead?

Hm?

Her eyes are empty and she's just flying there on one spot without moving anything else besides her little wings. I hear a small humming sound as the tree in front of me starts vibrating. The hell? Is it changing colors? Wow it really is! The bark that used to be white turned black and the blue leaves turned into a bloody red! Even the grass and other plants around it are now red! What happened?

Congratulations! You successfully took the soul of a fairy and corrupted her this way! Do you want to change her into a Dark Fairy, or do you wish to let her die?

What? I can do something like that? Well, let's try it out I guess.

I take option A and a red light engulfs the fairy. Her violet wings turn bloody red and her pink skin becomes very pale. Even more surprising was the fact that her clothes turned black. So, her clothes are part of her being? What the hell? After that a small light appears in her eyes and she looks up to me.

“Ahhh... I feel so good! Thanks a lot, o great lord for corrupting me like this, hehe” (Lila?)

Is it just me or does she somehow sound a bit indecent? Even her voice changed and is now a lot more mature.

“What is it, o lord? Are you speechless in front of my new acquired beauty? Hehe” (Lila?)

“…I guess your voice isn't as annoying as before, Lila” (Sirius)

“Oh please, do not call me Lila from now on. Instead I now claim the name Rot my own.” (Rot)

“Rot? Well whatever, I don't care.” (Sirius)

I stand up and look around me. I see many Soul-trees and if I'm not mistaking Everbloom Forest should be huge! Looks like I found a great place.

* Third Person POV *

“You did WHAT?!” (Demon King)

“I sent him to Everbloom! Should be funny, right? Hihihi” (Shadow King)

The Demon King was currently asking the Shadow King how the meeting with a small undead went.

While looking for new members to their Council they came across reports of a small village that was turned into an empty one. They investigated a bit and found a new species of undead, that seemed highly intelligent! They decided to have a little meeting with it to see if they could raise him into another Dark King.

“He is going to die there! If the elves find him they'll make bonemeal out of him!” (Demon King)

“Don't worry! I'm sure the fairies will help him! They are such funny creatures! Hihihi” (Shadow King)

“You Idiot! They won't do that! Instead he's going to get reported to the elves by them! Those little bugs are as pure as something could be in this world and can see the soul of everything! If they see his dark one, they will immediately run to the elves and bring them to him!” (Demon King)

“Oh, shut up! Do you think I don't know that?! I saw his soul and can assure you, they won't find any darkness in it!” (Shadow King)

“...What? Why?” (Demon King)

“Well, looking at his action his soul is most likely reaaaaally dark, but it gets completely overshadowed by its coldness. Hihihi” (Shadow King)

“Coldness? What do you mean? Since when can a soul feel cold?!” (Demon King)

“How am I supposed to know? Hehehi. He just feels cold, so don't worry as much and chill a bit, 'kay? Hihihi” (Shadow King)

“…?” (Demon King)
