《Rise of the Lich!》Prologue Part 1: Acid hurts!*

Do you know how much blood is inside the human body? In average, it's something like 5.5 litres. That actually doesn't sound like a lot, does it? I swear to god it looks like I already lost double that amount! I guess 5.5 litres of blood looks like a lot more when it's spilled all around.
“ Wooow look at dat bro' ! This Guy is still kickin' ”
...Still kickin' ? Is that actually a phrase? Who the hell talks like that? Well, rapists and murders apparently.
“ And he's still glaring at me as well bro' ! “
“ Yeah he's really starting to piss me off! Let's cut him apart a bit more, make him feel real pain. “
Pain? Right, I guess I should be feeling that right now.
But I can't.
I only feel one emotion. An incredible intense emotion. This emotion overshadows all other feelings I have and burns them to fuel itself and grow even more. Like a fire it keeps growing, and growing, consuming me in the process. Now this emotion sounds like rage, but it isn't. Anger feels hot. It burns you from the inside and makes you lose control.
What I feel is hate.
Hate is cold.
So cold.
Hate doesn't corrupt your mind like rage does, but consumes it.
“ Why not use dat spell bro! Ya know that one Izzy taught ya! “
“ Hm...? Yeah good idea. That will teach this maggot to glare at us “
I wished they would stop talking and just kill me already, so I can continue with my philosophical inner monologue about the differences of hate and rage.
“ Throw the corpses of those demi-whores at him, so I can use it on all of them at once. I don't have enough mana for too many casts “

“ Alrighty bro! “
The man throws the corpses of my wife and daughter at me, which results in the flame growing even colder. I'm human. My family isn't though. When I was small by parents sold me to a slave trader in order to buy more booze. I'm not even kidding, it's not like we had any severe money problems or anything like that. They just wanted more money. Those slave traders did horrible things to me...
I began to hate all those adults that abused us slaves on a daily basis. One day our torture came to an abrupt end when we were saved by a bunch of demi-human soldiers. Apparently those slave traders took some demi-human slaves which was a pretty bad idea, seeing how slavery is forbidden in their kingdom. Even though I was human the demi-humans were kind to me and gave me a new home. I lost my hate for adults but kept my hate for humans. How can a civilization call itself the most righteous one if the kept slaves? Hypocrites. I lived a good life, had a nice family and a stable job.
But that's all gone now.
I look a last time at my family, while I ready myself for my death. Shary, my wife is missing one of her beautiful wolf-like ears. One of those fuckers bit it off while doing her. My daughter Shila is looking a lot worse. I guess since she's only 11 her body couldn't handle “it”.
Hate fills my soul.
“Alright here I go! Shall the blood of the Devil itself eat your flesh: Acid Rain! “
This is going to smell really bad…

The Priest of Genes
Meet Seth, acolyte in the Church of Virtue. He’ll be a Priest like his father soon, he just knows it. Sure he didn’t inherit his mother’s preaching power, but he doesn’t mind being the secondary priest at whatever temple he is assigned to. Just as long as he has a library. Meet this genetics textbook. Hmm, that doesn’t belong here. It must have come from somewhere far away, I guess something happened to its owner. I’m sure a studious young man who likes healing could go far with this information, whether he wants to or not. This is my first time really writing anything, so I hope you like it! Please let me know if I make any mistakes; I have a new R&D tech job at a genomics company, so I probably don’t edit as much as some people. I’m shooting for two thousand-ish word chapters released on Sundays, since none of the webnovels I read ever seem to update that day. Underserved Market! Genre is fantasy, possibly progression fantasy. Maybe a tiny bit litRPG if you wait a while and squint really hard, but that’s the most I’m prepared to claim. Hedged my bets on the content warnings, nothing that bad. Cover art from A. W. Gelman

Path of Blood.
In my world, there are only idiots who know nothing of the true workings of the world. They only see what is shown to them, only accepting and not questioning anything. They brag about the strength given to them yet do not know how or where that power comes from. Sick of this competition for power that is unfair to all who participate, I’m tired of being given choices that seem fine to others but don’t make any sense to me. Others are blessed with supreme talent, others are born cripple; the world is unfair and that is a fact. But what if you could see? What if the world was open to you and only you? Would your life change forever? Would you become a King amongst men? OF COURSE NOT! For the heavens are fair and they shall maintain the balance of the realm, no matter what the case. Did I ask for the knowledge I was given? NO! Did I ask for the abilities I was given? NO! So then why make me different? Why turn me into a monster who sees all yet cannot participate in the competition for power that you have arranged? WHY HAVE THE HEAVENS FORSAKEN ME? From birth I saw everything, nothing could escape my sight. However, the heavens made me a cripple, they put me in the shadows and I can’t help but yearn for the light. Why am I still of the living then? Well, Why should I give the Heavens the satisfaction of seeing me give up? I will not submit to the heavens nor will I submit to the bastards that wish to use me. All I can do now is continue to rebel against everything. All I can do is continue to battle the Heavens in my heart. I shall carve out a new path for all those like me, a path that will go against the very constitution of this world. How will I do this? I do not know. But I will! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will upload a chapter a day on Royalroad (maybe more) however if you want more of the story at a quicker pace then go to fantasy-books.live. There are currently 110+ chapters of Path of Blood there. P.S - I started Path of Blood about a year ago so the first fifteen chapters have some problems character wise however I'm currently working with an editor to remedy these to make the story a better read. Anyway, these issues don't last long and since Pob is a story that rewards the patient, only those who've read till the latest will understand how good the story really is....I designed it to get better with every ark, surprises planned at every corner and the eventual ending of Pob will definitely not dissapoint, so stick around and give it a chance. :D
