“What do you think?” Amani asked, she did a little twirl as she spun around and showed off her new clothes.

Dan smiled as he looked at her, she was currently wearing a black short sleeve v neck shirt that showed off just enough cleavage to look enticing, and a pair of blue jeans that hugged her in all the right locations.

“I am pretty sure you would look good in anything.” he said with a laugh from his seat at the table. She laughed and sat down on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and leaning in close to his face.

“That's the right answer” she whispered, leaning her forehead on his. She leaned in and placed her lips on his. The sensation was soft and warm, as he reached up and put his hands on the back of her head, pulling her deeper into his kiss.

It took almost a minute for them to come up for air, Dan looked into her beautiful green eyes.

“So what do you want to do today?” she asked, breaking him out of his trance.

“There is several things I need to do today, do you want to come along?” he asked.

“Of course,” she nodded, her long black hair bobbed when she moved, causing it to swing back and forth, almost like a tail. He laughed at the image of her with a tail he had formed in his head. “What?” she asked, “What is so funny?”

“Its nothing,” he said, still chuckling to himself.

“If it was nothing you wouldn't be laughing.” she said, crossing her arms, she tried to look intimidating, it however did not work for her, it only caused him to laugh harder. “You are so mean,” she pouted, looking away from him with crossed arms.

“Sorry, sorry.” he said. “Well get up.” he slapped her on her plump ass, causing the genie to jump a little and let out a small scream in surprise. “ We have stuff to do and places to go.” She looked at him with a slightly displeased look, but got up anyway.

The first stop was a glass repair shop, he had to get those windows closed in, after that he could do most of the repairs himself.

Myers Exterior Windows the shop read, it was a home and commercial window repair and replacement shop, Dan remembered they had used it once or twice before when a little punk had broken the window with a rock.

He and Amani walked in, and were greeted by a receptionist, who according to her name tag was name Rachel.

“Hello, and welcome to Myers windows, how can I help you today?” she asked with a big smile, and dan decided she was either a really good saleswoman, or she was genuinely happy to see them, he really couldn't tell which.

“Hello, my name is Daniel Rhodri, unfortunately my shop had a little bit of vandalism done to it and I am in need of window repairs.” he said as he leaned up against the counter.

“That is unfortunate to hear, let me go get my boss, he handles all commercial jobs and installations.” she said, with another smile, as she got up and disappeared back into the shop.

“Rhodri did you say?” a deep voice boomed from the depths of the shop, and was soon followed by a loud thudding of heavy work boots on the floor as a large man walked into view. It was almost comical seeing Rachel trying to keep up with him, for every step he took she had to take three.

“Daniel Rhodri!” said a large bearded man with a smile on his face. “Do you remember me?” he asked. Dan looked the giant of a man up and down, he had to be standing at least 6 foot 5, and he had a large rounded black beard on his face, with small but kind black eyes to match set deep in a broad brow.

He had to be the most manly man Dan had ever seen, just looking at him was likely going to cause people to spontaneously grow chest hair.

“I’m sorry I can't say that I do.” Dan said in an apologetic voice.

“Well can't be helped, your father was my first customer, what was that, some 17 years ago, you were just a little tyke at that point.” he laughed. “I had just opened up the shop not three hours before John showed up, nice man, we kept in contact after that, well that is until the past year or two, how is the old man?”

Dan gave him another good look, he was starting to vaguely remember a man like this that had been present at his mother’s funeral.

“Well, unfortunately he has gone to be with mother.”

The man widened his eyes with shock. “It can't be?” he said in a sad voice. “Is he really gone?”

“Unfortunately,” Dan nodded sadly. The giant, who according to his name tag went by george placed his hand on Dan’s shoulder, and gave a comforting squeeze.

“I am sad to hear that, if there is anything I can do for you...”

“Well, there is something, I would like to have some windows repaired.”

“Oh? Got a crack in the shop’s windows?”

“Well it's a little more than a crack, we got hit by some pretty big vandalism, we lost both of the front windows, the front door and well everything in the shop.”

“Wait, everything?” George asked in shock, when dan nodded he cursed under his breath. “Its jealousy ill tell you, damn people so use to getting a hand out they get pissed when someone else is successful they don't see all the work that went into getting there, they simply see the end result and get mad because they don't have it, never mind the fact that they never put in an ounce of work to get it so its there own fault,” he paused and looked at Dan. “Sorry about that, I am done ranting now.” he laughed.

“It's fine,” Dan laughed.

“Consider it done, I will have those windows in in no time.” he smiled. “Now, one last question, who is this pretty lady you brought along with you?”

“This is Amani, she eh, well she is my-” he fumbled to find the right word for Amani, what exactly was she to him, he was about to settle for using the word girlfriend when Amanit grabbed his arm hugging it with a bright smile and answered for him.

“Hello, Im Amani, I am his wife!” she answered with a smile whose brilliance would put a diamond to shame.

“Oh!” George nodded, “I was unaware you were married!” he laughed.

“So was I...” Dan muttered under his breath so low no one else could hear. “Well yeah, haha” Dan laughed nervously rubbing the back of his head.

After they left the shop they stopped by a flower stand and picked up some white lilies.

“What are those for?” Amani asked, as they parked the car outside the cemetery.

“It's a present.” he simply said, stepping out of the car and walking up the hill to two graves. One was fresh, the grass had yet to grow back over the dirt mound, the other was covered in grass, it had been there for many years.

Kneeling down Dan laid the lilies on the older grave. “Happy birthday mom.” he said with a sigh. Amani looked at the two headstones sitting there side by side, and gave Dan a hug from behind. He smiled, and leaned his head back against her chest, yes perhaps life was not so bad.

Here lies John and Katherine Rhodri.

Loving parents.

May God rest their souls.
