《Binary Progression》Volume 7 - Chapter 36 : CIv part two

As JohnWillStab was slowly growing his regime, Foxly walked through his town, unlike the others, his town was a place of learning, culture and tribalistic sacrifices to the frog god, Kur’mt.
Two dozen people walked around the city, Foxly’s pact with Crown and the treaty of “It’d be too awkward to fight him right now since he gave me a hat…” with Bromy meant peace for Foxly’s people.
As he walked through the streets, he was met by one of his shaman-warriors.
He was a tall, imposing human with blood pained on his face to look like a Frogman's cheeks.
“Two more heretics have been found plotting against the state, what should we do?” he asked.
Foxly shrugged, “Send them off to Frogtopia,” Foxly commanded waving the man away dismissively, he pointed to the hole in the ground, reinforced with bench-parts and rocks.
It was a tunnel constructed by Crown’s slaves that led from Frogtopia to Foxly’s Trade Empire.
Together with Crown’s manpower and Foxly’s charisma and diplomacy they began developing deadly weapons.
“We’ll dig under Edgeonia and detonate a bunch of explosive seals; they’ll never expect the nuclear option from underground!” Foxly spoke to Crown in person in the ‘Embassy of Frogs’ located underground at the mid-point between their two nations.
Crown looked at the tunnel.
“That’ll take us another full day, maybe two considering the fact we haven’t been feeding the slaves…” Crown replied.
A magic lantern stood between them as a crude map of the island lay on its surface.
It was drawn on the dirt with a stick, pebbles were placed representing walls buildings they knew of.
“Hmm… I see…” Foxly nodded.
He smiled.
“That’s no problem! I’ll think of something else!”
He turned to face Crown.
“Speaking of problems, I have two heretics I’ll be sending over later,” Foxly explained.
Once the meeting concluded both parties went their separate way.
Once Foxly reached the surface he prepared the traitors to be sent.
The big wooden cage was brought over, this time the two were tied up and gagged.
The gates to Frogtopia opened revealing the bustling nation with massive stockpiles of rocks, earth and ore piled on.

Deep its were constantly mined by the slaves as a handful of privileged “slave keepers” watched from above.
As soon as the two were brought in the cage was taken away leaving Crown with two new workers.
She gestured to one of her slave keepers, “Untie them and drag them to the mines! We have ore to find!” she grinned.
The walls weren’t reinforced with earth or rocks, below Crown’s quarry was more than just ore, she also found coal.
And so, her nation began smelting the relatively soft metal in massive blast furnaces that released massive clouds of smoke into the sky.
Plates of metal were lined against the walls making them too hard for Bromy to cut through.
As the first prisoner was untied, he tore the piece of cloth stopping him from talking out of his mouth.
“THE SEALS!” he cried in a muffled voice as fistfuls of seals were seen filling his and presumably the other prisoner’s mouth.
The ground trembled as Crown’s nation was consumed in flames, her furnaces falling like towers and her slaves being buried by the mountains of dirt and ash.
Foxly watched his plan unfold from his tall throne, he still wasn’t able to see inside Crown’s base fully, though he was able to see all her slaves were dead or dying.
Foxly laughed maniacally as he looked over to Edgeonia with an unhinged look.
“That’s right! FEAR ME, MORTALS!” he cried as his people cheered.
Meanwhile, In John’s hut in Edgeonia.
JohnWillStab stood smugly next to the visibly fuming Crown.
Like a vulture, John waited for the power-hungry Foxly to attack Crown and break his alliance.
“I CAN’T BELIEVE HE BETRAYED ME!” Crown said almost ready to go fight him alone.
“I mean… did you actually expect Foxly to share his spot of number one?” John asked with raised eyebrows.
“…”
Crown breathed a sigh realising her mistake, she would break Foxly’s legs after the game was over.
“Anyway, thanks for teleporting me out of the nuke-zone…” Crown said looking up to John.
“Though I don’t have much of a city left to ally with you…” she shrugged.
“Not to mention you’re essentially the Nazis… even I’m not that brutal…” Crown added.

JohnWillStab shook his head.
“Of course, you can’t side with me, Edgeonia strictly opposes any and all Frog- “person” and human contact,” John explained.
“Then-” Crown began but was cut off.
“But I can’t have my army of fascists actually winning!” John explained.
“…”
“You’re not planning to win?” Crown asked suspiciously.
JohnWillStab crossed his arms.
“Well, of course, I want to beat the crap out of Foxly’s theocracy, but that aside I’m alright losing,” John explained.
Crown was still uncertain if she should trust John.
“I mean, don’t you want to take revenge on Foxly?” John asked.
Her face lit up.
“Ok,” she replied,
“Alright,” John nodded.
“I’ll shadow-step you to Bromy’s place, I’ll lure Foxly into thinking Bromy is on his side and you are out of the game,”
“When his forces come to my base you and Foxly will come to my base and kill off both evil empires!” John offered.
Crown nodded along with John’s plan.
“It sounds like it’d work… but how can I be sure you’re not plotting anything?” she asked.
John crossed his arms.
“Well, you can’t be totally certain, but as things stand, you have three choices, go take on Foxly’s empire alone, leave the game or get your revenge and knock Foxly off his throne!” John explained.
After a few, tense seconds, Crown finally made a decision.
“Fine… shadow-step me to Bromy…” she relented.
John grinned a borderline-evil grin.
“Great!”
Later that night…
JohnWillStab appeared in Foxly’s private castle.
“Yo…” he said.
Foxly sat in his throne, sloshing a bowl of soup around like expensive wine.
“What brings the fascist to my humble, superior kingdom?” Foxly asked.
JohnWillStab smiled.
“Crown is still alive,” he said matter-of-factly.
Foxly’s eyes widened.
“What?!” he demanded throwing the soup to the ground.
JohnWillStab nodded.
“That’s right, I shadow-stepped her from the explosion,” John continued.
Foxly took in a breath ready to have his guards chase John away only for JohnWillStab to raise a hand up to silence him.
“I’m not here to threaten you…” he began.
Foxly raised an eyebrow.
“My people are out for your blood because of your frog-centric theme, Bromy agreed to join the pseudo-Nazis because… because it was immoral, I guess. It’s a pretty Bromy thing to do,” John explained.
Foxly nodded understandingly.
“And Crown is definitely out for your blood,” John smiled.
Foxly looked visibly distressed, his kingdom was in peril.
His expression shifted to a more polite one.
“W-well, I’m sure we could come up with an agreement!” he said.
“A defence-pact maybe?”
JohnWillStab smirked.
“Yeah, I’ll pass.”
“My people won’t ally with you even if I trusted you,”
JohnWillStab turned to Foxly.
“There is no good-ending for your nation,”
“You’ll die with three daggers through the chest,” John teased.
Foxly folded his arms.
“In that case, the least I can do is-…!” Foxly began but was cut off.
“Exactly…” John smiled.
“You can take out as many enemies as you can…”
“I knew that’s what you’d say!”
John walked up to Foxly.
“Tomorrow, Bromy and Crown will attack my people,”
“But only if you attack my people first,”
John shrugged.
“Otherwise we’ll attack you from every direction.
Foxly scratched his chin.
“So, the most I can do is start the attack on your people early and take out as many as I can…” he said looking up to John.
“What are you going to get out of this?” he asked.
John held up his hands.
“Nothing, but, if you were to, let’s say give me a load of explosive seals to scatter around my base you’d be able to take out both me, Crown and Bromy along with yourself,” John offered.
Foxly observed John curiously.
“Of course, you could just explode me and my base the moment I scatter the seals around my base, but then you’d still get killed by Bromy and Crown,” John explained.
He leaned in closer to Foxly.
“Like I said, there’s no good-ending for your empire, but there are bad endings for the other empires if we try hard enough…” John offered extending a hand towards the shaman.
Reluctantly, Foxly shook John’s hand.
