《Binary Progression》Volume 5 - Chapter 12: Bromy... maybe...

"Alright, everyone! I think I finally came up with a plan!" Alex exclaimed.
He gestured to the large sheet of paper he pinned to the wall of the mortuary.
On it, were several pictures, the first was a picture of two stickmen, one being hit on the head.
"Since Violet hitting Bromy resulted in a loss of memory..." Alex began.
He pointed to the next picture.
"We'll have her whack him again!" Alex exclaimed.

"OBJECTION!" Bromy cried.
"Overruled!" Alex replied.
"I DEMAND A LAWYER!" Bromy exclaimed.
Suddenly, before he even noticed it, Bromy was hit over the head by Violet, the force of the impact shook the room.
The floor trembled as Bromy fell back into Felix's arms.
Moments later, his eyes opened.
He stood up and looked around.
Bromy crossed his arms.
"So, it's four on one, eh?" he grinned.
He sounded completely different, it was as if he was putting on a deeper delinquent-voice.
"I'll take all you fuckers down!" he exclaimed.
Bromy charged at Alex, scalpel in hand
He slashed at him, burring a blade into Alex's arm as he was grabbed by Felix from behind.
"Quick punch him!" Felix cried.
"OK!" Alex exclaimed punching Bromy in the gut.
"ON THE HEAD!" Felix cried as Violet smacked him on the head once more.
Bromy fell down, opening his eyes seconds later.
"Ow!" he cried rubbing the sore spot on his head.
"B-Bromy?" asked Dylan.
"Oh my gosh, I remember you guys!" Bromy exclaimed in a soft, kind voice.
"THIS FEELS WRONG!" Alex thought.
Instinctively he smacked Bromy.
"Ugh!"
He fell to the ground.
"W-why would you do that Alex-kun!?" Bromy asked starting to cry.
"OH NO, HE'S A WEEABOO! KILL IT!" Alex pleaded as Violet appeared, launching herself off a table, ready to elbow Bromy's weeaboo self back to oblivion.

"What are you doing Violet-ch-..." he was cut off by his neck cracking.
The noise was loud and obvious.
The party exchanged concerned looks as Bromy's limp body lay on the ground.
"QUICK, BEFORE HE RESPAWNS!" Alex exclaimed as they all sprinted outside.
They spent half an hour looking outside, but they were unable to find Bromy.
"Bromy!" Violet exclaimed.
"Are you there!?"
Alex was in a different district.
"Here, Bromy, Bromy, Bromy!"
"C'mere boy! Bromy?!"
Dylan was also out looking, he was eaten by dogs.
"..."
"..."
Felix returned to the office before everyone else.
"Guess they're still looking..." Felix speculated as he entered the mortuary.
A smile crept onto his face.
"It'd be a shame of their flesh-map went missing in the chaos..." he thought.
Moments later he heard it, a horrifying voice from behind.
"Human..." Bromy said.
Felix felt a shiver run down his spine as the air in the room became cold.
Bromy once again spoke up, his tone seemed off, not deep, not high, not changing but at the same time, definitely not human.
"You have unbound the nameless, formless, primal mind-form of man..."
"Same does a vast horror sturring below the briny depths I... no... 'if' persisted, fading in and out of truth of fact of fiction..."
Bromy's neck was still limp, his eyes pitch black.
It was as if all colour was drained from the world around him.
"The barrier will contain nothing more, not a being nor a concept, but a primal, animalistic force-"
Felix had no fucking idea what Bromy was on about.
He grabbed the empty box of food from before and tossed it at Bromy, the box smashed into his head, causing him to fall backwards.
"Ouch..." Bromy rubbed his head.

"Felix... what's going on...?" Bromy asked.
"Do you remember everything?" Felix asked hesitantly.
"...I... I remember you... I remember my name and class... that's about it..." Bromy replied.
Felix breathed a sigh of relief.
"What about Alex?" asked Felix.
Bromy shook his head.
"The jGuardians?" he asked.
Bromy shook his head once more.
"He remembers me... and his class... and nothing more..."
Felix smiled nervously.
This was his chance, if he messed up it would all be over.
"Thank god you woke up when the others weren't around!" Felix exclaimed.
"Eh?" Bromy raised an eyebrow.
Felix leaned in towards him.
"We're murderers, remember?" Felix asked.
Bromy's eyes widened.
"Mur-?!" he was shushed by Felix.
"Shhh! Quiet!" Felix exclaimed through gritted teeth.
"We... ehh..." Felix scratched his head.
"Last month, we ran into some thug in the streets, you killed him in self-defence, but then people started to investigate!" Felix exclaimed.
"You were afraid of going to prison so I joined the cops to help cover your tracks! They brainwashed you into thinking you're some corpse-doctor!" Felix explained.
Bromy looked at him, his expression still in complete shock.
"What... do we do?" he asked.
Felix pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Hmmphhh... They think you ran away... I"ll bring you to my house, from there we can figure out a way to kill the guys in charge..." Felix explained.
Bromy nodded hesitantly.
"I... I don't want to go to prison!" Bromy said in a shaky tone.
"Nope... this one isn't the original either..." Felix realised,
"Still, he'll be a decent tool to work with!" he decided.
Felix grabbed Bromy by the arm.
"Quick, let's hurry before they return!" Felix exclaimed.
"Alright!" Bromy agreed.
They made it out safely, since they decided who'd search where, Felix knew which way to go to avoid the others.
Once they snuck into his house, Felix finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"W-what now?!" Bromy asked, he was visibly shaken.
"Let me think..." Felix replied.
"Who knows how long this'll last!"
"Who knows when he hits his head and becomes scary Bromy again!?"
"I have to kill him and his allies ASAP!..."
"We strike tonight," Felix finally said.
"We'll kill the girl, she's the only one who could figure us out..."
Felix reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a slab of scarred meat.
"And this meat-map won't be of any use to them either..." Felix remarked as he tossed it into the fire which blazed in his house at all times.
Bromy stood there, shaking.
"I... have to kill someone?!" he asked.

Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
