《Binary Progression》Volume 4 - Chapter 45: Teamwork-building (part 3)

John blew into the whistle as the chaos began.
Alex was the first to act, he balanced a red potion on the tip of Thal and thrust it into the distance, Bonifacius leapt off the glorified sand-castle and landed below the potion which he caught in mid-air.
"Alex and Thal, out!" John called out.
"Damn!" Alex exclaimed through mild laughter.
"I know this whole competition is stupid, but shouldn't you at least try and take it seriously?" asked Thal.
"Nah..." Alex shrugged.
He stepped off the fighting arena and sat down next to John.
"Good job, Bonifacius!" Curstl exclaimed.
"I have played a few games of Baseball as a child, tis all!" Bonifacius said modestly.
Suddenly he felt a projectile fly past him, from Bromy's bunker a large vine stood like a slingshot, Bromy pulled it back as Jordan set the fish-oil potion aflame before launching it at Bonifacius.
"What art thou doing?" asked Bonifacius.
"JOHN-STYLE BASEBALL HAS NO RULES SAYING COMBAT IS FORBIDDEN!" exclaimed Bromy as he unleased another volley of flaming potions.
With his shield Bonifacius blocked a single one, the oil spilling out all over him.
"Ah! Ah! Hot!" he exclaimed.
"We... may have gone overboard..." Bromy said loading another few flaming bottles into the slingshot.
Suddenly Bonifacius felt the cold relief of water extinguish him as Revenberry cast downpour on him, a very weak healing ability that most importantly rained a load of water on the target.
"BROMY! What have you done to Bonifacius?!" Curstl demanded as her drawbridge fell down revealing a dozen interns running out to carry the unwilling Bonifacius back into the keep.
"If you want war, I'll give you war!" she exclaimed reaching into her potion-sack and pulling out a lime green bottle.
"A blight in a bottle?!" gasped Bromy.
"That's right! I knew Bonifacius wouldn't approve so I hid it!" she laughed before tossing the bottle into the centre of the field.
The bottle smashed revealing a glowing green mist that spread like fire.
"Curstl! Thou wouldn't!" Bonifacius called out.
"Calm down, sweetie, I'll be down in a minute," she said giving a smug look to the people outside the walls of her keep.
Bromy tore off one of his sleeves before dousing it in a random potion and placing it to his face, Jordan did the same, unlike what they hoped for the potion did miraculously cancel out the blight and they felt their skin burst into flames as it was eroded by the poison.

Bromy was the first one to fall, he looked over to Jordan.
"I think this is it..." he coughed up a sizable gulp of blood.
"No way! I'm sure we can still make it out!" Jordan exclaimed as he rushed over to Bromy, picking him up over his shoulder and making his way towards the exit.
"Not so quickly..." she hummed as from inside of her keep came a barrage of intern-thrown potions.
the occasional one reacted with the green mist creating a vibrant explosion of blood-red light. Meanwhile, Pedecree just stood opposite the direction the wind blew in.
Bromy felt his life slipping past his fingertips as a loud explosion rang out from outside collapsing the top of the bunker and leaving some of the dirt bricks loose as began to fall, seeing this Bromy Pushed Jordan away, himself getting crushed by the t-shaped rock.
"BROMY!" Jordan cried.
"It would have been funnier if he yelled Ceasar... but whatever..." Bromy thought before finally losing consciousness.
Finally, Jordan made it out to the surface of the bunker, his face bloodied and his flesh visible in places.
"CURSTL!" he exclaimed reaching into his potion sack and pulling out a fish-oil potion, with his teeth he removed the cork, he reached into his pocket, then tore off a piece of his robe and placed it inside before setting it on fire with his staff.
With all the strength he could muster he tossed it at Curstl's keep before falling down to his knees and coughing up blood like Bromy.
"Pathetic... you didn't even aim high enough for me!" Curstl laughed looking down at the bottle and seeing that it was flying in through the window into the main room where Bonifacius was... and the interns.
Seeing this she quickly leapt down from the roof of the castles to catch the bottle, she caught it in mid-air and pulled out the robe breathing a sigh of relief before seeing it.
Her pulling out the robe dislodged a lit cigarette that dropped down into the oil igniting it and causing a small explosion of flames as she fell to the thick green fog.
Pedecree and Revenberry stood out of the way as they suddenly felt it.
Jordan got to his feet not quite ready to die, Bonifacius fought off the interns and made it to the roof of the castle as Foxly's and Crown's shed began to tremble.

"What-?!"
The gates opened up revealing a big, two-story ship, made entirely from dirt and a barrel.
At the steer stood Crown with a dirt-pirate cap.
"A SHIP!?" cried Jordan as from the side windows came the beaks of cannons made from dirt.
Foxly placed potions inside with an explosion seal, when he triggered it the cannon would splash the given potion as well as send shattered glass at the foe.
Pedecree was the first to feel it, the cannons fire off one after the other, three shots, within moments the only thing left of Pedecree was a bloody stain and a pretty relaxed-looking skeleton.
Revenberry cried out in horror upon seeing this.
"AHA! YOU NEVER SAW THIS COMING DID YOU!?" Crown cheered as the ship "sailed" forward and unleashed a barrage onto Curstl's castle, making giant holes inside and allowing the poisonous blight to seep its way in, many shrieks of horror were heard from within prompting Bonifacius to rush inside, returning with no less than ten interns upon his back.
"Hold on! I shan't let thee suffer the consequences of Curstl's poor decisions!" Bonifacius exclaimed reaching for his shield and casting master charge, launching himself into and through the ship, for a split second he was able to see Foxly, they exchanged a polite slow-motion thumbs-up before Bonifacius flew out the side of the ship and landed next to Jordan.
Bonifacius grabbed Jordan and Cast another shield charge, crashing through the ship and landing back inside the castle.
Revenberry breathlessly flew her way over to the castle where she breathed a sigh of relief.
"I'm not sure how you guys feel about this, but how about a temporary alliance?" she asked.
Bonifacius looked over to her.
"Great idea!" he exclaimed.
Quickly Revenberry cast downpour on Jordan healing some of his scars and proving that he wasn't dead yet.
"Your alliance of cowards means nothing to the power of the Frog-Alliance!" Crown exclaimed as Foxly unleased another volley of attacks at the castle, its sides crumbling.
Bonifacius Grabbed Revenberry and Jordan and once more charged into the ship before returning.
He felt the unsteady roof of the castle shake as he slipped and fell into the green blight.
On his back the ten interns.
"AHA! IT'S NOTHING PERSONAL BONY, BUT I'M NOT LETTING ANY OF YOU DECIDED OUR UNIFORM!" Crown boasted as Bonifacius began making slow step off the arena.
"Tis the end... I have lost..." he said barely lifting a hand in defeat before stumbling out of the area and out of the green blight, as soon as he was safe, he left the interns off his back and fell to the ground, dead.
Crown looked at the sight and let out a sigh.
"What a Bonifacius thing to do..."
"Wait, where are the other two-?!" she heard a loud explosion come from below deck as Jordan and Revenberry defeated Foxly with their combined powers which created a massive steam explosion, tearing off the front of the ship.
Foxly was reduced to a bloody jigsaw puzzle.
"Oh crap!" Crown said as the ship began to lean forward, she buried her hands in the dirt to prevent herself from slipping down into the green poison.
Suddenly Crown felt her back pierced with a long, glowing lance.
"C-Curstl?!" she looked back and saw that the lance was, in fact, Curstl's but it was thrust into her back by a long, twisted vine.
"BROMY!" she exclaimed.
"Right on both accounts!" they exclaimed.
From inside of the green fog rose the visible scarred Bromy and Curstl, both with empty health-potion bottles in their mouths.
"I was fucked when I got poisoned, but I suppose this can be my last fuck-you of this competition," he cackled pulling his hat down over his bloodied face before falling to the ground.
"Don't you go trying to make cool exits like that!" Curstl laughed also falling to the ground and dying.
"Oh yeah! I could have used health potions!" Jordan exclaimed letting out an angry sigh.
"Alright! Game-over!" John exclaimed.
"Team Revenberry and Pedecree get first place, them Jordan and Bromy get second since Jordan wouldn't be active without Revenberry' healing!"
And so, the battle was over and the group waited for the green blight to clear up as they ate lunch.

Ancient Mana Dungeon Core.
Yes the tags are necessary, they will make sense eventually too. Art is not mine, found it on pintrest btw the title on the thing apparently has no name, or at least no title that you can search, at least, but i found this: ‘ArtStation - [UE4] Lost Temple Ruins Jonas Axelsson’ (if your curious I was searching ancient temple game art when i found it don’t bother clicking the link on the thing that says facebook, it does not work) (i will not lie this is kinda my first publication so go easy on me). A while ago I fell in love with the Dungeon Core stories and decided: ‘Heck, why not make my own spin on things!’ and so i started brainstorming what to do and i kinda just found the idea for the story during it. This is the story of a guy named Michael Alex (not a typo that is the name I will be using for him) he was an avid fiction writer and reader who was just sitting on his couch playing a puzzle game on his phone called: Ruins of Drailmor Keep (a three in one deal: tower defence, Puzzle (mazes generally), and world building (namely building on the ashes of fallen empires and regulating certain things while the waves of enemies keeps coming back to burn it down and ruin it just like the curse would while ocasionally sending out your own monsters to get rare rescources)) when he gets an alert and well one thing leads to another and he died to a freak avalanche. He then comes into contact with the universe's will (basically something that *insert your prefered deity here* cooperated with to make the world (heaven, hell, the mortal world, yggdrasil, basically every "world" that has been made (in reality, mythology, games, books, cartoons/movies, and memes!) but also had a mind of its own at the same talk.) and Michael and the Universe’s Will talked and this story is about the outcome of said discussion.
