《Binary Progression》Volume 4 - Chapter 36: The rescue???

Bonifacius carried the passed out NPC as Bromy dragged the body of Boopnsnootn behind him.
Suddenly, Boopnsnootn opened his eyes.
"Where am I?" he asked.
"Oh, he's up," Bromy said letting go of the man giving him a harsh landing on the grass.
"Ow!"
"Thou are alright!" Bonifacius exclaimed.
"Yeah… thanks to you guys…" Boopnsnootn replied upon sitting up.
"Say… don't I know you from somewhere?" asked Boopnsnootn.
"Uhm… I know not, my name is Bonifacius! How about thee?"
"I'm Boopnsnootn," he replied.
Bonifacius scratched his beard before snapping his fingers. "Thou are the one who manipulated the three wolfman cowboys to do thy bidding!" Bonifacius exclaimed.
"Right… sorry about that…" he scratched his head awkwardly.
"Fear not, I hold no grudge against thee! After all twas just a game!" Bonifacius exclaimed.
"Really? But… wouldn't that be all you have to go off to judge my character?" he asked.
"Indeed, and thus I do not judge thy character!" Bonifacius exclaimed.
Boopnsnootn stood up and patted his clothes clean of the grass.
He was wearing a black robe that opened up past his crotch and brown trousers underneath.
"Admirable…" Boopnsnootn remarked with a look of slight awe.
"Hm?"
"Eh, nothing…"
Boopnsnootn noticed the NPC being carried over Bonifacius' shoulder.
"Are you going to kill it?" Boopnsnootn asked.
"I'd rather not, for now, I'd hope to contain him within a prison and perhaps talk things out!" Bonifacius replied.
"What?! You can't talk a monster out of being a monster! He didn't commit a petty crime, he slaughtered dozens!" Boopnsnootnexclaimed.
"Indeed, alas, while I cannot forgive him, I would hate to act too quickly on this matter," Bonifacius replied.
Suddenly from behind the rustling of bushes caught everyone's attention.
"Damn, looks like they got to him first…" sighed one of the men that emerged from the bush.

He wore a mask and cloak, they had the crest of a blue candle as their crest.
"They're from the same guild as that Atwoz guy…" Bonifacius thought placing the NPC down.
"Hand over the NPC and we'll let you leave, there's no need for any more bloodshed!" exclaimed one of the dozen armoured people.
Each one held a different weapon.
"I believe you're aware of the phrase 'finders keepers'?" Bromy said with a smirk.
"This is an official Silverlight order, we require the NPC to be publicly punished for their crimes!" exclaimed one of the men.
"Thou wish to bring harm to this man, correct?" asked Bonifacius grabbing his blade and shield.
"You're going to fight us over the life of a sick murderer?!" demanded one of the Silverlight men.
Bonifacius arched his back and warmed up his muscles.
"Tis the first time I am the one instigating a fight with players as of now… if any of thou is injured and chooses to retreat, I won't pursue thee,"
With that, Bonifacius readied his shield and blade.
"CHARGE MEN!" exclaimed one of the Silverlights as the dozen charged at the party.
Bonifacius swung his blade with enough force to shatter armour and launch the foe into the distance.
Bromy summoned roots to strangle the Silverlights, the wood buried into their nutrients and their bodies turned into deflated balloons ant fell down to the ground.
Jordan unleashed another experimental ability of his, the mobile bolt, where his firebolt would turn to the direction he points allowing him more control over his magic after firing it.
With one of his bolts, he managed to char one person to death while another person deflected it with some sort of magic.
"Shit, he can somehow stop my magic!" Jordan exclaimed.
"He could be an arcane mage or a seal magician!" Bonifacius exclaimed before charging at the magic-proof foe, knocking them to the ground and seemingly causing them to pass out.

Boopnsnootn held his mace in one hand as he swung at and enemy, burring the mace in their skull with a sickening crunch.
As from the distance, a bolt of magic flew into and through him the attacker realised that was just one of Boopnsnootn's illusions.
Boopnsnootn bludgeoned the long-ranged magic user from behind.
Bonifacius glanced back seeing the passed out NPC missing, he looked past the spot and saw a group of two people carrying the NPC away.
"The NPC! Boopnsnootn!" Bonifacius called out.
"No way in hell I'm helping that freak!" Boopnsnootn replied as he moved in to kill the person Bonifacius was struggling to block.
Bromy's root-tentacle shot out after the NPC but it was already of range, he tried his hook-glove but its range was also shortened.
Seeing the carnage around him, Bonifacius took a deep breath.
"Alright, we need to go rescue the NPC!" Bonifacius exclaimed.
"Wait, why didn't you help us with the NPC, man?!" Jordan demanded looking at Boopnsnootn.
Boopnsnootn completely ignored Jordan.
"Bonifacius…" Boopnsnootn began.
"You are by far the most… stereotypical good person, I have ever met, but even you must see the idiocy of your plan!"
"You captured a murderer and you'll risk your lives to make sure he lives?!" Boopnsnootn asked.
Bonifacius cracked a sombre smile.
"What good is a life without some beliefs to uphold?" he asked.
"Perhaps in this world, I'll be able to do more to make this a peaceful place! A place where wars can just be games again! A place where having multiple lives is an excuse to go on adventures and life carefree not slaughter each other!"
Behind Bonifacius, Bromy shrugged.
"So, Boopnsnootn, I'm glad to meet you, my friend, I hold no grudge for your personal choice not to follow my unreasonable road!" Bonifacius exclaimed patting him on the shoulder and giving him a genuine smile.
Bonifacius began walking towards where the Silverlights took the NPC, leaving Boopnsnootn standing in shock and awe.
Jordan let out a sigh, "Now I know where John gets his weird breed of heroism…" he thought before following Bonifacius.
Bromy walked past Boopnsnootn without making eye contact, thought before catching up with the rest he turned to say something to Boopnsnootn.
"There's something I realised recently, I'll never understand how Bony thinks… but that's good because every saint needs someone to do the dirty work he'd refuse to…" with that, Bromy lit a cigarette and followed Bony and Jordan.
"An actual quote I didn't steal from Malagmus… nice…" he thought.
Nevertheless, Boopnsnootn remained.
The last week was well and was not about to go rescue the one who caused him to suffer so much.
He turned around and began his journey to Levelgreen, where he'd have something to eat and drink and maybe get a room.
Twenty minutes later…
Bonifacius, Bromy and Jordan reached what looked like the ruins of a stone fort, three large watchtowers guarded the base, a drawbridge going over a deep pit with a shallow stream stopped an out-right charge.
Inside, protected by four mostly intact walls stood a tent where the NPC lay, tied to a wooden table with leather binds.
A large ogre with a black executioner's mast stood beside the table sharpening a knife on a grindstone.
The sparks flying off the blade reminded him of the blood that would spray out in a similar manner.
Bonifacius and the party hid behind a large, round rock and observed, waiting for the perfect chance to strike.
