《Binary Progression》Volume 3 - Chapter 51: HaremHarry

JohnWillStab sat in the empty throne room looking at the crack on the ground.
"Did he cut the planet in half just to show off!?" thought John.
His attention was suddenly brought to the door on his right, the door where he would allegedly find HaremHarry.
"This is no time to be a little bitch, John, I'm sure he used all of his mana on that trick!" John thought standing up.
He marched up to the door and placed his hand on the handle.
He twisted it and was met with an unlit room, the blinds covering the windows.
Thanks to his undead-ness he was able to see what the room truly held.
It was a coffin, in it amongst a bed of flowers lay a woman clad in white say for the massive red stain on her chest.
Long bangs covered her face.

On the ground near the coffin sat a man looking like more of a withered husk than the leader of a country.
His eyes reddened and dry.
JohnWillStab closed the door.
"What the hell's going on?" thought John.
HaremHarry's eyes slowly wandered over to JohnWillStab.
Seeing his undead form, pale and with red eyes.
Blood running down his faces and clad in black.
Harry drew his blade and began to stumble towards JohnWillStab.
"So you've finally came..." he said in a weak, quiet voice.
He swings at John who simply grabbed him by the hand, it felt grossly thin.
"Stop it..." John instructed to no avail.
"You won't take her, reaper!" Harry cried as he planted the dagger in John's chest.
"Reaper?"
"My name is Joh- Jane... I'm JaneWillStab..." the man's eyes softened seeing the little trickle of blood leaving John's torso before stopping almost instantly.
"You're not the reaper?" asked Harry.
"No."
Harry's gaze slowly turned to back to the coffin, he began walking towards it but was stopped by JohnWillStab who grabbed the man by the collar and pressed him up against the wall.
"Don't think your sob-story will make me or the others forgive you!" John said.
Despite this Harry's eyes only wandered over to the coffin.
"Pay attention to me, damn it!" John staid planting a fist in the man's gut.
Again, no reaction came.
John looked the man in the eyes and saw an almost psychotic look, he had massive bags under his eyes.
"Let me go... I have to keep the reaper away..." he said trying to wriggle away.
John let go of the man who fell down to the ground hitting his head on the wall.
He crawled over to the side of the coffin and with his daggers drawn patiently sat next to it.
"What the hell is he doing!?" JohnWillStab thought.
JohnWillStab used his Tenecirus class, his tendrils shooting out from his hand and coiling around Harry's soul.

"I should have one use after this according to Thall... I better not screw up!" he thought.
"If I can destroy a soul... and I can mind-control someone... can I read someone's mind or soul?" thought John.
His tendril coiled around the man's brain and soon John was able to see it, he could browse through "screenshots" of memory.
"Jesus fucking christ we're actually here?!" demanded the angry tone of the woman beside Harry, Clare.
"Yeah, thank goodness the friends-list works!" laughed Harry.
Clare turned to face him, "I guess..."
She sat down and looked around.
"I don't think I've ever been here..." she commented.
"Well, to be fair, you have only played this game for like a week a year ago," he laughed.
"You all but forced me to give it a try," she sighed.
"True, but now we're both isekaid! Isn't this awesome?!" asked Harry prompting a kick to his right leg.
"Ow!"
"Don't act all happy about this! What about the dog!?" she asked.
"Don't worry, I made the dog an account too," he shrugged.
"...you what?" she asked with an almost defeated expression.
"Well, in case he wanted to play the game, you know." Harry shrugged.
"IS YOUR GAME ADDICTION NOT ENOUGH!? ARE YOU THAT DESPERATE TO GET THE DOG ADDICTED TOO!?" she demanded kicking him again.
"HELP! My wife's beating me!" Harry exclaimed as both of them burst out into laugher.
"Fucking, hell you really are stupid..." she said standing up.
She was dressed in generic healer robes, light brown in colour and covered in decorational bands and chains, all a bright golden colour.
"Back to square one! Two level-ones!" Harry exclaimed.
"I still can't believe you're so happy about this..." Clare replied.
Suddenly, from all around appeared a group of five players, all of them melee users.
"Hey there, friends, say would you be interested in joining our guild?" asked the one in the front.
He was a massive ogre with dozens of tattoos all over his body.
"We're going around killing players for XP y'know," they explained.
Clare took a step behind Harry, her staff at the ready.
"No thanks!" Harry exclaimed.
"Suit yourself!" the ogre walked up to harry who drew his blade and slashed at him only to have his hand grabbed and broken.
"AH, FUCK!" he exclaimed.
"H-healing!?" Clare exclaimed uncertainly before pointing her staff at Harry who's hand snapped back into its proper place.
"Nice! They have a healer!" exclaimed the ogre as he grabbed the level one Harry and tossed him against the nearby tree, the other player-killers quickly surrounding him.
"Say, healer. Would you like to join our guild?" asked the ogre,

"Of course not! Get away from-!" she was cut off by having her throat grabbed by the ogre.
The ogre leaned in close.
"Whether you respawn here or at the nearest down..."
He placed one of his massive hands on her head.
"My men will be waiting... we hope you reconsider," he said as he quickly snapped her neck with a loud crunch.
"YOU BASTARD!" Harry exclaimed struggling against the grip of level four and above players.
Ten minutes later, she didn't appear in the forest.
"She must have respawned in the town!" exclaimed the ogre.
Harry had his gut split open by a wolfman in the party before having his insides made into outside by the harpy.
"Hey! He's my kill!" exclaimed the wolfman.
"Finder keepers... well.... killers XP-keepers!" the harpy laughed.
The wolfman let out a sigh as the harpy dealt the killing blow.
Ten minutes later Harry respawned in the town.
As soon as he opened his eyes he looked around for Clare or the attackers.
The town was deserted say for the corpses.
"Clare!" he called out, he stood up and rushed over to the centre of the pile where he saw, in a massive puddle of blood a cloth covering the silhouette of his wife.
He dropped to his knees, the bodies of the attackers laying all around, their weapons scattered and their armour shattered.
Their bodies were covered in cuts and most had missing limbs.
Harry slowly moved his hand towards the cloth and considered lifting it.
"I wouldn't recommend looking at it..." said the voice of someone from behind.
Harry spun around and saw the figure standing there, a mini-robe, a skin-tight shirt with short sleeves and trousers.

Harry grabbed his blade.
"Relax, I'm the one who killed the attackers," he assured Harry who lowered his guard.
"I- I see..."
Harry turned to the body and embraced it, feeling the blood seeping from within.
"I take it she won't respawn?" asked the man.
Harry shook his head.
"We are both level one... and she died twice without getting any XP..." Harry replied through tears.
"I see, well... rest assured, I have permanently executed them, so you need not worry about them wandering around." shrugged the man before turning to leave.
"Wait! Why did you help me? I mean my wife? I mean why did you kill them?" asked Harry.
"I simply could not stand to see such horrific things going on! Being the good samaritan I cleansed the world by removing the wastes of space," he explained.
"I see... thank you... my name is HaremHarry... if there is anything I could do for you... please tell me..." Harry said somberly, he knew he couldn't get over the death of his wife, but giving in to grief is the last thing his wife would have wanted for him.
"HaremHarry? The HaremHarry? Well, perhaps you could use your fame to rule over this town and make sure this never happens again?" offered the man.
"Wait, why this town if you could protect this entire continent!" he added.
"Or... the world."
Harry stood up.
"You're right! That's what I'll do!" he wiped the tears from his face.
"My name is Arthur, I'm actually a healer class-wise," he explained.
"Healer?" asked Harry.
"I really wish I could do something more for her... but without the special materials-" Arthur was cut off by Harry,
"Materials?!"
Arthur scratched his chin.
"If we had herbs from all around the world I might be able to bring her back... but how would we get those before her body decays?" asked Arthur barely able to hide a smile under his facade of sadness.
"So... so I might be able to-" Harry was cut off.
"To see your wife once more? Yes! If you get me the materials I'll make sure of it!" he exclaimed.
"I'll get them! Anything!" Harry exclaimed.
"Alright! For now, I'll cast a body-preservation spell," he explained walking up to the covered body.
He kneeled down beside the corpse and turned to Harry.
"You should cover your ears, this magic is pretty potent," Arthur explained.
"Right!" Harry covered his ears.
What Harry didn't think to do was to read Arthur's lips.
"Make undead, mindless."
Arthur gestured for Harry to uncover his ears.
"Alright, she'll be fine for a while, though we should act quickly," Arthur explained.
"Of course!"
From the corner of his vision, something Harry completely failed to notice, was the sigh of Arthur dripping some blue liquid into a bottle of water before handing it to him.
"Here, have some water, It'll help you calm your nerves," Arthur said with a smile.
"Woah... I don't... feel so good..." Harry thought.
"Relax, it's just the shock!" said Arthur.
"If you ever feel ill, I'll take over for you while you rest... it's only natural to have trouble coping with loss." Arthur assured him gesturing for him to have some more water.
Back in the present...
JohnWillStab saw the room was littered with dozens of bottles.
"Was he poisoning Harry?"
JohnWillStab looked to the withered looking Harry before letting go of his brain.
He looked over to the woman in the coffin.
"Didn't Arthur say... "make undead"...?" thought John looking at the undecayed body.
"At the very least... the Tenecirus mind-penalty helped me calm down a bit..." John sighed.

A boy is born in a fantasy world with knowledge of modern earth, however he does not have personal memories of living or dying before. Good news is he was born in militaristic branch of the royal family and the variety of forms and uses of magic in this world are great fun, bad news is with status come expectations. Follow him as he makes his place in the world all the while escaping boredom with all his might. This is a story without a big baddie trying to destroy the world, without gods choosing heroes to give powers to and without systems that determine what you can and can't do. This is my first fiction and i'm open to suggestions. I plan on using a few cliches while putting my own spin on things, if i write something that feels too much like every other fictions, please say so.
