《Binary Progression》Volume 2 - Chapter 12: JohnWillEdge

JohnWillStab was walking through the forest for a good while now, he was unable to find anybody to join the army.
"Man, I'm getting really tired now... I need to rest up a bit..." he looked over to his two followers, "I wonder if they'll still be under my control if I log out?"
He looked to the time displayed on his computer and over to the leftover energy drinks from before.
"I should be fine... for now," he said as he reached over for a can of energy drink, he opened it with a loud crack before downing the whole can.
"I'll need to dose these out so I don't die, though..." he said as he grabbed another.
JohnWillStab: I'll set you two to protection mode. he replied as he clicked the little shield icon next to their names.
JohnWillStab noticed a little beg icon next to the shield icon and decided to click it, displaying their inventory.
JohnWillStab: Nice! I appreciate your donation to the cause! he exclaimed as he swiped a collective six-hundred gold from their inventories.
JohnWillStab: Let's see... you two are, level 40s?! No wonder you didn't stand a chance! he laughed as he looked to his level which was sixty-two.
They continued walking until they spotted a town in the distance, it was a town near central Northcross, a collection of huts with a collective ten players and ten NPCs.
When he came down to the village he immediately headed to the inn, where three players sat at a nearby bench, one had the bad subclass letting them play and instrument, a flute in this case.
The guards didn't seem concerned about the low-honour players entering, maybe because they were sentient, or because the players were logged out.
JohnWillStab approached the players in the inn.

JohnWillStab: Hey, wanna join my group?
Orengeen: Lol, I'm good, thx.
JohnWillStab: No problem.
JohnWillStab proceeded to mind-control the three, he muted them and had them sit still around the inn.
He stepped outside and repeated the process with the remaining players until his army was twelve people strong.
JohnWillStab: Greetings members new and old! My name is JohnWillStab, and I have borrowed your strength to save the NPCs, now, as of now, I will take any money in your possession, to help fund our military expeditions.
JohnWillStab: You are free to log-out and upon the completion of our mission your characters will be returned to you!
JohnWillStab: So, let's start with getting the highest level player here. JohnWillStab instructed as he looked around on level seventy mage.
JohnWillStab: It's nothing personal, but I need some XP fast. he said as he set the mage to "passive mode" before he started attacking him, every time his health dropped too low, he had another player heal him up before attacking him again.
JohnWillStab tabbed out and turned on a movie for himself to watch while he would tab-in and out to allow for the player to heal.
Meanwhile...
The newly resurrected NoPissBottles ran through the town, he was trying to head as far south as possible before finding someone qualified to fight but he was stopped by a well-dressed fish man.
They stood in the town, it was dark, they were only visible thanks to the bright torches which littered the town.
RuRet: What's the rush, my friend?
NoPissBottles: You need to get out of here! This one guy is mind-controlling people, talking about taking over the world and s#*t, or something like that! he explained.
This piqued RuRet's interest.
RuRet: Where is this person? I've been looking from him for a while now. RuRet bluffed.

NoPissBottles: What! You want to fight him!?
RuRet: Sure, I found this amazing tool to help me!
NoPissBottles: I can lead you to him! I'll get you there in a second!
NoPissBottle turned back ready to lead RuRet to JohnWillStab before he was stopped.
RuRet: Wait, wait, wait, you said he can mind-control people, we should get everyone in the town to help us!
NoPissBottles: You're right! We can't be too careful!
And so they organised ten players excluding RuRet and NoPissBottles, with ten players excited to kill a hacker with grand ambitions, they marched out.
Some casters. some warriors and even a healer or two.
RuRet: So, what is this player called?
NoPissBottles: "JohnWillStab", he's an undead but somehow he reached a really high level in only a week or two!
RuRet: Is it unusual for an undead to level so quickly?
NoPissBottles: Well, yeah! It means he's either doing dungeons 24/7 or someone with a higher level let him keep beating the s#*t out of him.
"How vulgar..." RuRet sighed in irritation.
RuRet: Well no matter who this hacker is, we'll deal with him in no time, right guys!? he turned to the group of players following him.
The whole group cheered and echoed the same sentiment.
While they did that, RuRet wrote a private message to JohnWillStab.
RuRet: Are you the one mind-controlling people?
JohnWillStab: F#*k, I was hoping to stay hidden a bit longer!
RuRet: I'll take that as a yes...
JohnWillStab: I'm trying to save the NPCs! Don't get in my way!
RuRet: By turning the game into a dictatorship?
JohnWillStab: ...if I have to.
RuRet: ...
RuRet: And you don't mind everyone hating you for it?
JohnWillStab: ...I'm sure they'll understand when it's over!
Nobody wrote anything for a while.
JohnWillStab was organizing his force, taking gold from everyone.
He was fully prepared to die and try again, death wouldn't stop him, especially with the large sum of money he had on him now.
RuRet: You wouldn't happen to need a general?
johnWillStab took a second to reply, did he read that wrong? Does somebody want to join him? A player who wants to help him!
JohnWillStab: A general? You want to join?!
RuRet: I'm leading a group of eleven players to you, they are certain we are going to kill you, of course, you could just mind-control us all, but I'm certain I'd be more useful to you as a general than a meat-shield.
JohnWillStab: ...
JohnWillStab felt he wasn't lying, he thought this whole thing up and even decided to message him before the fact.
JohnWillStab: Alright, I'll set my minions to sit around the inn like normal players, when you send the players inside I'll make my minions restrain everyone. I'll then go down and mind-control everyone except you, deal?
RuRet: That sounds perfect!
JohnWillStab: One last thing... why are you so interested in helping me?
RuRet: To be perfectly honest, I've been feeling rather aimless in this MMO, and I could use this chance to build-up my image.
JohnWillStab: Image?
RuRet: Let's just say I need to play villain for someone a bit longer.
JohnWillStab: Fair enough, I'll be waiting, general.
RuRet cracked a smile in real life, this was the opportunity he was waiting for.
"I wish you could see this, brother." he thought to himself as the inn came into view.
