《Binary Progression》Volume 1 - Chapter 41: Interrogation

"Bromy: Now then, I solved that little problem we can finish up the interrogation!"
Before him sat the cloaked figure, tied to a chair.
"???: Release me. I have to save those NPCs."
Bromy’s underground lab was starting to take shape, a tiled floor and walls, the lighting wasn’t added yet, so he placed some torches.
He grabbed a wooden chair from the table he placed down and sat on it backwards.
"Bromy: Man, I can’t wait to move my stuff in here – I miss my spiny chairs…"
"???: You people don’t even realise what you’re doing. You’re only extending the torment of those souls."
"Bromy: They didn’t seem all that worried a second ago."
"???: Highly unlikely…“
"Bromy: Whatever the case, I’ve taken it upon myself to ask you some questions."
"Bromy: You see – I’ve heard something about pain-simulations…"
"Bromy: How advanced is this tech? Can you tell which bone I break? Which tooth crush? Which organ I puncture? Are you capable of passing out?"
"Bromy: There are so many potions I want to try on you, can I blind you? Maybe I can make you one of my treasured experiments? I promise to take good care of you…"
The NPC showed no sign of fear.
"???: If you wish to question me, you may go ahead,"
"Bromy: …you’re not fun…"
"Bromy: Right, question 1 – who are you?"
"???: I am an unnamed entity, my id is BFFE33-T, I was included in this release of the game as a mechanism to removed the awoken NPCs,“
"Bromy: Are you an NPC?"
"???: Yes, though my AI is very singe-minded,"
"Bromy: Where are you from?"
"???: I have simply been spawned after a scan of all NPCs has confirmed my non-existence, my coordinates were simply a coincidence,"

Bromy breath a long, drawn-out sigh before using an item in his inventory, a herbal remedy he created and designed to look like a cigarette, it helped boost stamina and health regeneration.
"Bromy: Why did you decide to kill all the NPCs?"
"???: Like I said, this wasn’t a choice as much as a pre-programmed reaction,"
"Bromy: Are you at liberty to decide not to kill all the NPCs if you chose to?"
"???: I would contact the Lorb and await his reply,"
A puff of smoke flew towards “???”’s face.
"Shit... ehh... I know! Remember what Malagmus taught you!"
"If you can't get them to stop questioning your choices, use a metaphore!" he thought.
"Bromy: Yeah, I’m a bit psychotic I guess. Though, look at it like this…" he came up with a metaphor on the spot.
"Bromy: I don’t care if you chose to paint on your canvas, or throw it out, or burn it, but I will do what I can to stop others from destroying it, they may paint it, for better or for worse, but if you threaten my canvas I will annihilate your one in return."
"???: You really are psychotic… going on about canvases and paint…"
"Bromy: Told you…"
"???: What are you going to do about it then?"
"Bromy: I already told you my ideology, what more do you want from me?” he asked jokingly.
"Bromy: If we’re being realistic, we’ll agree to house a dozen, maybe a couple dozen NPCs, over time most will be killed and return to normal, that’s if no major world power comes in and wrecks this game!"
"???: …"
"Bromy: But nothing in this god-damn world is realistic, I’m chatting with an artificial intelligence on an eighty-gig game."

"???: ?"
"Bromy: Right now, a level 20 corpse is trying to help the NPCs you tried to kill, and they seem stubborn on their choice to remain alive."
"???: …the undead?"
"Bromy: I’m not a fan of the undead, but he does seem to be another unrealistic pawn in this game."
"???: Fine, but if your plan fails, this may lead to greater misery than you can comprehend… you did read the EULA, right?”
"Bromy: If our plan fails."
Bromy released the NPC from the chair and pointed towards the exit.
"Bromy: You can head out and sort your business out with the guys out there."
"???: Right…"
The masked figure made their way up a few steps before turning back to face Bromy,
"???: You weren’t actually going to do all the terrible things you said, right?"
Bromy shrugged and got back to fixing up his lab.
The cloaked figure made it up to the surface whereupon they discovered the group of ten NPCs and John, beside them was a deep hole where Bonifacius was located.
Crown watched from above as XxFoxlyxX was heading towards the front gates.

The Unstoppable Ascension of Zu Mari, Time-Looper
Zu Mari will never be stopped! Zu Mari will ascend to the heavens! Zu Mari is a downtrodden cultivator without any hope of becoming powerful. OR SO HE THINKS! One day fate intervenes on his behalf to give him everything he'd ever dreamed of, ALL THE POWER HE SO RIGHTLY DESERVES! And then, finally, everything starts going his way. (Well... kind of.) [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] wooooo!! Let's do this! Just to clear up some misconceptions, this is not a parody and it is not a satire. Zu Mari does include over the top humor and exaggerations intended to amuse, but satire is a very specific thing which this is not. I certainly haven't read enough xianxia to properly satirize or parody them. It's just a silly project I'm writing for fun, with a meta story that makes me laugh. Expecting anything else will only end in disappointment.

I would be posting new chapter ever 2-3 days and if i haven't posted in this time, then something happened to me personally that makes me unable to post chapters in the scheduled time.
