《Binary Progression》Volume 1 - Chapter 12: The murder golem

The party almost wordlessly agreed that they needed a break. Bonifacius with little to no stamina, XxFoxlyxX with little to no mana and ♕ who was out of mana and mana potions.
"Bonifacius: Despite the odds, we have made it!"
"♕: Yeah, I expected you guys to be weaker, but I'm pleasantly surprised!"
"All the better for when I need to keep you guys as worker..." she thought.
"JohnWillStab: I guess, I hope the next boss is easier..."
"XxFoxlyxX: I severely doubt it..."
"Bonifacius: Indeed, the next boss will be 'The Quarry Master'"
"JohnWillStab: Alright..."
"XxFoxlyxX: I don't mind that one, he's a chunk of rock so my explosive seals do a lot of damage."
"Bonifacius: That's good as it is powerful, twould' be difficult to tank for long."
"♕: And just an FYI stabby there'll be a lot of AOE..."
♕ played the /smug emote.
"JohnWillStab: You cure your own plague next time!"
"XxFoxlyxX: Come one, it's not the time for arguments..."
"Bonifacius: XxFoxlyxX is correct, we must make hast to the boss!"
"JohnWillStab: This place is weird, isn't it?"
"Bonifacius: What does thou mean?"
"XxFoxlyxX: Looks normal to me..."
"JohnWillStab: Why would there be a side room here?"
"Bonifacius: I assure you, JohnWillStab, I have gone through this dungeon more than once and never has this room spawned as a trap."
"XxFoxlyxX: I think this is just a chest room, fam..."
"Bonifacius: Regardless, let's keep going!"
Everyone in the party stood up, with Bonifacius in the lead the party headed towards the door, suddenly the ground erupted into green lights as the door slammed shut.
"XxFoxlyxX: It... may be an advanced chest room..."
From the middle of the room a vortex of red appeared, within the churning red liquid appeared bones and flesh once the creature took shape it became wrapped in bandaged of grey.

The creature looked like a human, more than three almost three meters tall, no part of it was clearly visible, not the eyes and not the mouth, both were only noticeable thanks to the shape of the bandage.
The creature echoed its (unbeknownst to JohnWillStab) Iconic sound - the sound of a dozen or so muffled screams synchronised into one forming a cacophony of terror.
"Bonifacius: Tis a murder golem!"
The movements of the creature were quick and rigid.
When the creature looked towards JohnWillStab its head snapped so fast and so loud you'd expect it to take damage.
In an instant, it lunged at JohnWillStab, its joints moving in unnatural ways, making that cracking and snapping noise, its movements resembling a three-frame animation.
JohnWillStab could not move out in time, the murder golem swiped its clawless, stump of an arm at JohnWillStab knocking him into a pillar.
"XxFoxlyxX: we are so fu!#ing dead!"
"♕: Relax, I'll pacify it..."
Bonifacius charged in trying to get the monster's attention, no matter how he'd attack the creature, it would take no damage.
♕ opened the other program and selected the murder golem, to her surprise the golem had nothing but a single script inside "Creature_Animate(10040_Z)"
You can't edit a server-side script like that, little variables, yes but not scripts.
"Bonifacius: Make haste, Crown!"
"♕: I can't, it controlled by just one script!"
♕ turned towards the door and selected it, the door too was controlled by scripts, one called "GenericObjectProperties(0014)" and "GenericDoorFunctions(0130)"
"Bonifacius: Did thou check the door?"
"♕: Yeah, I can't open it!"
The creature swiped its arm shattering the pillar beside JohnWillStab and causing the ceiling to collapse onto the creature, its health falling slightly.
"XxFoxlyxX: The ceiling damaged it!"
"JohnWillStab: Wasn't it immune to physical attacks!?"
"Bonifacius: Tis environmental damage!"
Once more the creature lunged at JohnWillStab who was knocked back by the enemy.

Now going pillar to pillar the fact the monster was so fixated with JohnWillStab allowed ♕ to focus on healing one target.
"JohnWillStab: The pillars are destructible?!"
"Bonifacius: Correct! - They were in the entire dungeon!"
"XxFoxlyxX: We've all noticed in the first room, we waited for you to realise, fam!"
XxFoxlyxX was throwing seals onto JohnWillStab and activating them resulting in a small burst of healing.
JohnWillStab looked at the murder golem's health.
"JohnWillStab: Looks like the falling ceiling took about... 10% of the health..."
"XxFoxlyxX: There are only 8 pillars, tho!"
"Bonifacius: Any suggestion?"
"♕: So we are [email protected]"
"God FUCKING damn it! Not only am I not going to get out of here with slaves, but I'm also going to respawn in a town and get killed, then arrested!"
"JohnWillStab: Foxly, do you have any explosive spells?"
"XxFoxlyxX: Yeah - about 6"
"JohnWillStab: Set them up on the remaining pillars, Bonifacius try and get the enemy attention, Crown switch to healing him as soon as the monster switches to him."
"Bonifacius: Right!"
Bonifacius cast one taunt spell after the other not getting the monster's attention, "Bonifacius: Tis not working!"
"JohnWillStab: Crown! Can you change the monster's target?"
♕ selected the monster remembering it's controlled by a script, she selected JohnWillStab seeing various different variables, most highlighted red meaning they can't be changed safely.
"♕: No! The threat is stored in the monster's code!"
"JohnWillStab: ..."
JohnWillStab was being pummeled by the monster his health going from the low teens to the high eighties in a constant struggle between the healer and the monster.
"Bonifacius: Any other ideas?"
"XxFoxlyxX: Ritual [email protected]!"
"Bonifacius: Any other other ideas?!"
"JohnWillStab: Do different spells inflict different threat levels?"
"Bonifacius: They do!"
"XxFoxlyxX: But it looks like the monster is building threat continuously on the first target!"
"XxFoxlyxX: No regular spell can out-threat the monster!"
"JohnWillStab: No normal spell!"
"Bonifacius: ?"
"JohnWillStab: Crown, can you make your spell generate more threat?"
♕ check the spell edit, this is one thing she could absolutely do!
"♕: Yeah, but if I make it attack me I'll die, I'm the healer!"
"JohnWillStab: Cast one spell with really high threat and one with really high negative threat, then Bonifacius will use taunts to build his threat with the enemy!"
"♕: That... might work!"
♕ did as instructed, casting Fairy Flies, the monster's attention changed to ♕ before she cast another Fairy Flies paired with Bonifacius' casting of Master Charge
The moment Bonifacius hit the monster he cast Collasus Roar causing him to be attacked, compared to JohnWillStab he was barely pushed back by the monster.
"Bonifacius: What now?!"
"JohnWillStab: Go to the middle of the room!"
Bonifacius did as instructed, and the moment he was in the middle JohnWillStab was making his way toward the centre of the room.
"JohnWillStab: Foxly use the explosion magic!"
Foxly detonated the pillars wasting several falling roof tiles which could have hurt the creature in return for the centre of the room to collapse down onto the murder golem and Bonifacius.
Dust and rubble-filled the room as the creature's life bar reached a zero.
"XxFoxlyxX: S#!t! Bony!"
"Bonifacius: Tis alright!"
When the dust animation settled everyone saw that Bonifacius was not only alive but also placed like a sack of potatoes over JohnWillStab's shoulder, he played the /carry command to stop Bonifacius from being crushed since it had surprisingly long range.
A silence filled the chat for a while...
"JohnWillStab: I f#!king knew this place looked suspicious..."

A (Not So) Simple Fetch Quest
Oh great hero! The evil Demon Lord has once again arisen to terrorise our lands, and we have summoned you to save our people! No, we don't want you to fight the demon lord! Of course not; we're the good guys! What sort of good guys kidnap people from other worlds and force them to take part in wars that have nothing to do with them? That would just be plain evil! We'd be no better than the demons! Katie, after her summoning by an excessively loud mage suddenly takes an unexpected twist, is sent off on a simple fetch quest, with a promise that she'll be back home in five minutes at most. She doesn't even need to leave the building. Alas, when a goddess' blessing causes her wish for an actual adventure to be taken rather more literally than she expected, she finds herself lost in a dark cave, far away from the sword she was supposed to acquire and far too close to a population of giant bugs. Still, at least she wished her life wasn't in any danger. Among other things. Be careful what you wish for. You might just get it. This is a dark litRPG adventure, both in terms of Katie accidentally wishing all the lights out, and also in that she loses as often as she wins, often with horrific and disturbing consequences. Luckily, Katie isn’t the sort of person to let a mere grizzly death or two get her down, and is prepared to try, try and try again to get her hands on the holy sword and finally complete her ‘simple’ fetch quest. Or perhaps—with a few resistance skills under her nightie—she might even come to enjoy losing. Not that she’d ever consider forgoing revenge, even if she did. I’ve ticked all the content warning checkboxes for this one. There’s no explicit sexual content, but there are enough references to justify the warning. Profanity happens rarely, but Katie isn’t averse to swearing when she gets particularly angry. As for gore/trauma, it doesn’t get much worse than the first few chapters, but there will be occasional chapters that have extra content warnings.

The Order of Sekhmet
Meet Rowan who may or may not be really enthusiastic about telling you how his life is with the goddess of war. It is naturally far from being peaceful, but the blade-wielding, fourth-wall-breaking protagonist certainly wouldn't have it any other way. Egyptian deities? Check. Sword fights? Check. Demonic arts? Check. Burning passion? Check. After all, blood is a good moisturizer. Please note that I have flagged my content. There is and will be content that may trigger you, particularly if you've been through toxic relationships. While I do my best not to paint these moments in the best light, they exist and are crucial parts of my story. Things are kicked up a notch beginning with chapters named 'The Old World'. Everything before is (nearly) vanilla. Update schedule is every Thursday/Friday, varying times!

Heart of the Dungeon
A lazy, wingless, blabbermouth of an imp, smearing goat’s blood all over the crystal – that is the unpleasant view this new Heart wakes up to. “I’m your Prime!” the imp says. The Heart reluctantly agrees. In an unknown world, filled with dangers, it needs every help it can get – even if said help is not…optimal. The Heart tries its best to succeed, even after being tricked by shrewd traders and having less than useful minions. Rival races settle in the Dungeon, causing even more headaches. The heroes, as they call themselves, sets their aim on the ‘new and defenseless’ Dungeon. The heroes are always lurking in the shadows – well actually, they are standing in the open, under the sun, hiding nothing – but either way, their evil intentions, no matter how they claim to justify them, only cause needless death. “Am I really that precious? Must you hunt me so fiercely? Why are you doing this to me?” The Heart does not understand their motives. Perhaps its lack of understanding has something to do with the fact the Heart has no physical limits nor material needs. Why take it from someone, when you can simply will it forth? Just pay for it with mana rent! To make things worse, the real dangers are not from above, nor from below, but from within…
