《A Bored Immortal's Adventure with Reincarnation》Chapter 19: The Liberation of the Old Dagda

I turned my thoughts away from my new wings, no need to start plotting too much until my wings emerged I knew exactly what kind of material I would have to work with.
What I could do right now was return Dagda to it's more interesting self~
The spell crystal I used to take control of the principal had a link directly to my mind so I could give him orders at anytime. Using this link, I reached into the principal's mind and began searching through it.
I paused at a certain memory.....Heh, no wonder this guy is afraid of Raina, what a painful experience....
Finally, I found the spell lodged deep in the depths of his mind. The core of the spell looked like a giant bundle of yarn, with tiny threads stretching out in all different directions, theses threads were probably what bound the teachers to the principal guy's orders....
I followed one thread to its end, and as I suspected, it connected to an intricate magic circle placed within an unfamiliar teacher's mind.
Hmmm, this kind of magical circle, I would have to undo in person and it would take me a while to undo all of them....
I sent an order down each thread for the teachers to gather in the restricted wing of the school immediately, then I had the principal get up and tell his assistant that something important had occurred and classes would be canceled for the day.
With that settled, I hopped up, got dressed and walked happily to the cafeteria, better grab some food while I had the chance, I would be very busy today~
Settling down at my usual spot, I noted that the top noble brat table was still ignoring me.
I ate my food quickly, then placed my elbow on the table and propped my head up so it would be facing their table.
"Sigh~~ You guys really don't have any guts....and here I thought the table of 'the best' wouldn't roll over so easily to show their bellies in submission."
I sensed their backs stiffen as my loud comment rolled through the cafeteria, easily audible.
It was the voice of that prince brat that finally answered me.
"You, what did you just say?"
"Hmmm, you didn't get it the first time? Let me try again, you're a pathetic dog that's all bark and no bite."
"W-why you, we were giving you face since you're a commoner who's managed to rise to our level, but you actually dare to continue to insult us!"

"Heh, yeah right, and I refuse to be compared to a lowly dog like you."
"Stop calling me a dog, I am Cedric Paragon, Crown Prince of Ediraseth!"
Eh, so he's the prince of my home kingdom? Still, his name....the first letters were the same as the first letters of crown prince.......did his parents do that on purpose?
"Those are pretty interesting initials you've got there, I think I'll call you CP2, who knows, it might help me remember you're a crown prince~"
"H-how dare you address me so informally!"
"Eh, get used to it CP2"
"STOP CALLING ME THAT!"
"Pfffhhhttttt, I'm definitely not stopping after that reaction~"
Hmmm, I should probably wrap this up and head over to the restricted wing....
"Why you lowly commone-"
I shot to my feet and moved in front of the infuriated prince, interrupting him mid-sentence.
"Now now, you're starting to get repetitive, I suggest you stop your little tantrum until you come up with better insults, if you even manage to come up with something good, I might call you by your real name, Ne?"
I drew a breath in, preparing to leave, then paused and inhaled sharply with my nose.
Almost impossible to catch, there was a faint scent coming from the prince that shouldn't be there.
Ohohoho, how interesting~
I leaned in and whispered quietly to the irate child.
"Don't worry, I'll keep your little secret if you play my game.......Princess~"
Indeed, there was the slightly sweet scent of a girl child coming from the 'prince', a scent that I hadn't detected until I came into close range, since hormones don't produce a truly strong scent until puberty.
I heard CP2 catch her breath, yep, I was right~
Time to let her stew for while....I walked away without another word.
Checking my link with the principal, I confirmed that all of the teachers had gathered in the closed wing.
Following Raina's and Eamon's scents, I easily made my way towards their location, stopping at a large set of double doors, the entrance.
I could hear many murmurs coming from just behind the doors, the teachers of Dagda clearly wondering why the principal who had ordered them to come here and had also canceled classes for the day, wasn't even present.
I flung the doors open and strode in confidently.
Man, this is one of the few times where I could actually see, I bet their expressions are priceless right now.....
The hallway where the teachers were fell into a dead silence, there weren't even any proverbial crickets chirping.

Kekekeke, I got them good~
It was the messy guy Eamon, who recovered enough to speak first, probably because he's had a bit of a chance to get used to me....
"What are you Doing here! Get out, Halifax could be here at any moment! "
I tilted my head, confused.
"Who's this Halifax guy you're talking about?"
"He's the principal of this school, remember!!!"
"Aaahhhh, that guy, you don't have to worry about him, he's not coming here~"
"What are you talking about, he's the one who ordered us to come here!?"
"Eh, no, that was me, I said I could help you with your problem, right~~"
Silence once again fell in the crowded hall, but this time, it was accompanied by shocked choking sounds.
"H-how?"
"Ehehehe, blind people have their ways, you know~"
"A SERIOUS answer, please..."
I nodded, morphing my face into a suitably serious expression.
"I'm an immortal, all=powerful being with knowledge of magical concepts way beyond the grasp of understanding that got bored and decided to be reincarnated with no powers."
My answer was immediately shot down.
"Pffhht, yeah right, a real answer please, this IS SERIOUS!"
Haaaaaaa, for some reason, they never believe me when I tell the truth.......
"I'm a genius who's grasped concepts of mind magic that have so far only been theoretical."
Mind magic was a thing in this world, but it was still in the early stages of development, and was usually not considered a legitimate kind of magic.
After my 'discovery' that spacial magic already used more than two elements at once, Messy Eamon was far more inclined to believe this explanation.
"I see...what did you actually do?"
"I achieved an absolute mind control over the principal, nothing like the partial mind magic that's binding all of you"
"......How?"
"It's quite simple, unlike partial mind magics which can be placed directly into human beings, absolute spells require a material that won't deteriorate, such as a crystal, to act as a home for the spell."
Of course, that was only for lower level absolute spells, the spell I had used on the principal required an excellent understanding of the mind, but they weren't anywhere near ready for that high of a level.
"Amazing, it was always thought that mind spells required a living source to function, but to think that was completely untrue....."
As expected of a scholar, Eamon began to drift off into thought at my startling revelation.
"Anyhow, I gathered you all here today so that I could free you from the bond placed on you."
I could have just taken control of the bond entirely and leave it in place, but puppets without free will are no fun at all....
Raina was the first to step forward, Eamon too caught up in his own thoughts, and the rest of the teachers hesitant to trust the words of a seven year old kid.
Gesturing for Raina sit down on the floor, I placed my palm against her forehead. I continued to talk casually as I began working a strand of my own mana through the magic circle within her mind
"All bindings spells have a major weakness, and that is that they all require a key. All I have to do to release the binding is to match the key."
Of course, I was likely the only being on this planet that possessed the adequate level of mana control to achieve this feat, but hey~ It might give them a goal to shoot for.....
Feeling my mana suddenly lock into place, I grinned and gave a sharp twist. The binding on Raina's mind burst apart and vanished.
I heard Raina give a small gasp as she felt the spell vanish.
"It's gone.........Now I don't have to listen to the stupid School Safety committee when I decide the training schedule!"
As exspected, training was the first thing she thought of in the implications of her freedom.
"All right, next person~"
By then, Messy Eamon had recovered enough to start peppering me with questions as he settled onto the floor in front of me so that I could remove his binding.
........Oho! The person who made these bindings wasn't half bad, Eamon's key was completely different from Raina's.......Heh, I bet playing with *cough* meeting him would be intersting~
............................
Thousands of miles aways, a man shrouded in a dark cloak meditates in a deep cave located near the peak of a very tall tower.
He suddenly opens his eyes, which glow green for a few moments, then dim to a normal appearance.
"Hmmm, I suddenly got a bad feeling that interrupted my meditation........That binding spell I was hired to place on those people......I feel as though I should go check on it......but I'm so close to reaching Void level.......Alright, as soon as I achieve Void rank, I'll go check it out, it should only take a few more months!"
The mysterious man shut his eyes and continued his mediation.
.............................
Moments after I finished removing Eamon's binding, I sneezed violently.
A strange feeling caused my body to tremble for a moment, and I grinned.
Heh, I feel as though a strong opponent will be coming soon......Time to power up~~

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★
