"Eh, um, please show me all of my skills and my status too if I have one... Please?" 'Lone' asked quietly and very cautiously. He had no idea if what he was saying would do anything and he was still very scared.
Much to his joy and surprise, five blue tables popped up in front of his eyes so he read them all very thoroughly.

"What does all of this mean...? I guess my name really is 'Lone' now, huh?" Lone said quietly to himself. He wanted to cry. It was hardly his fault, anyone would be upset in his position.
His life wasn't the best. He disliked most things and was painfully pathetic in everything except for his video game and his teaching attitude, so some might even say that this was an opportunity for Lone, but he was afraid and confused, so he couldn't see the silver lining in this otherwise hopeless situation.

"... Mmm?" The young girl in Lone's arms rustled around.
"You're awake?" Lone asked her with a very caring and gentle voice. He obviously didn't want to spook the girl, especially not after her panic attack earlier.
The young girl, Sophie, looked up and was shocked to see an unfamiliar face in front of her. She immediately panicked and before Lone could try to smooth the situation out, she suddenly vanished from within his arms.
Lone fell back in fright. "W-What?!"
"...W-Who are you?" The sound of Sophie's trembling voice came from the nearby trees. As it was, the island that the two were on seemed to be the home of a fairly thick forest that connected to the expansive beach.
Lone calmly stood up and smiled at the young girl. "I'm Dar-, wait, no, I guess I'm Lone now... Hahaha... I'm Lone Immortus. Who are you, Miss?"
"S-Sophie... Vladimirovich..." The girl mumbled before hiding behind the tree completely.
'A shy one, huh? I'm glad she's okay, at least,' Lone sighed in relief mentally.
While he wasn't particularly liked by most of his students or by his peers back home, he was still a fantastic teacher and knew that one of the best ways to deal with shy children was to not push them and to give them plenty of space.
"I'm going to look around for some food and maybe some shelter. Please don't run away or go into the forest, okay? Just give me a shout if you need me for anything." After saying that, Lone received no reply, but he knew that the girl had heard him, so he made his way towards the treeline and started to inspect each one to see if any bore fruit.
While he was doing this, Sophie was stealthily dashing from tree to tree and she maintained a distance of at least twenty meters from Lone. Obviously, she was being very cautious.
Lone tried his best to ignore her cute actions, but he'd be lying if he said it wasn't a struggle. After all, the girl wasn't being discreet in the slightest. While she may have pegged herself as something of a master sneak, anyone with eyes and ears would have been able to notice her actions.

Lone's attention was forced away from the adorable Sophie by several large, brown-skinned balls that sat atop the tree Lone was stood under. "Coconuts?" Lone mumbled.
He was never very athletic before and the only exercise he ever got was when he cycled to work. However, he had noticed that his new 'Golden Foxkin' body was, to not mince words, very fit.
'There's no harm in trying, right?' he convinced himself before he grabbed the tree and started to madly shake it. A few minutes and a sweaty body later, Lone's head started to throb with pain after a large coconut had smacked him right in the forehead.
The melodious sound of a child's laughter rang through the air and Sophie couldn't help but hold her stomach and curl up as tears welled up in her eyes.
Lone frowned and grabbed the coconut that had attacked him before he returned to the beach and found a palm-sized rock. He sat down on the sand and smacked the coconut with ease. It split perfectly into two halves, so Lone threw the rock away and placed one half of the fruit on the sand carefully, so as to make sure what was left of its unsplit water didn't also trickle out.
Lone then, with a grumpy face and whilst grumbling to himself, drank the coconut water in his half before he began to carefully eat the coconut.
Sophie watched all of this with an unfamiliar smile on her face. It was very uncommon for her to show emotions beyond despair and loneliness, but something about this man made her happy. He wasn't trying to capture her nor was he trying to hurt her.
Suddenly, her stomach did something that it hadn't done for nearly a thousand years. It ached for food. 'I... I'm hungry? But... But I'm immortal...'
"The other half," Lone said as he looked back at the blushing and confused Sophie who was holding her belly, "It's for you. Don't be shy, I won't do anything to you."
Unfortunately for the usually suspicious Sophie, her stomach had defeated her brain in a very intense and almost even fight. She slowly walked towards Lone and sat next to him before picking up the coconut and investigating it briefly. After she had confirmed that it was fine, she gleefully drank its water and then started to nibble on it.
"Earlier," Lone said in a quiet and relaxing tone, "Was that teleportation?" he added. Naturally, Lone was referring to how she had disappeared from within his arms and suddenly appeared behind a tree. No matter how much he thought about it, there was no way for it to be anything except teleportation, right?
Sophie lightly nodded her head and avoided replying directly.
"I thought so... Anyway, you have amazing body coordination and a great sense of spatial awareness for someone who's visually impaired," Lone praised as he looked at Sophie's pure grey and lifeless eyes.
"T-Thank you..." Sophie squeaked out in response.
Lone grinned with his new handsome face and stood up, startling Sophie. "I'm gonna build us a shelter. Nothing fancy, but we can't really sleep out in the open tonight, now can we? Just stay within my line of sight, please. I don't want to lose my only company in this strange place," he chuckled.
Sophie continued nibbling on her coconut and meekly replied, "O-Okay..."
Lone moved to build two small teepees. While he wasn't physically fit back home, he was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of his time learning new things on the internet between his usual gaming sessions, so while it might take him a few hours, he was confident that he could build a place for them to sleep and avoid any rain or wind in the night.
After Sophie had finished her coconut, she turned her head and her lifeless eyes gazed directly at Lone, almost as if she was able to actually see him with them. "... Those tails look so fluffy and soft..."
Unfortunately for Lone, Sophie's roughness with his new limbs when she was unconscious wouldn't be the last experience of pain that they would have to go through in order to please this mysterious child.

* Tale of Tales is a High/Epic Fantasy saga based on the motifs of ancient myths, legends, and forgotten fairytales * Senka is no hero, but you never know what is coming for you. And if that burns down your house and family, while you are left blinded by your house’s guardian snake, the outlook becomes grim. So Senka clings to her dog’s back to survive, unaware of the fateful prophecy and the great changes to come. But when a wandering warrior becomes her protector and mysterious strangers join their hounded party through a series of seemingly chance encounters, they all begin to discover that all is not as it seems. What is pursuing her? And why? Can the strange characters gathering around her on her desperate quest save her from doom? Are they mere puppets of a young, beguiling witch guided by her own hidden motives, or are forgotten shadows rising again from the immeasurable depths of time? A tale of folk fairytales and myths, of swords and sorcery and mythical beings – a unique story of dark times and unsung heroes who may light your way. Book one, A Strange Bunch, features leading characters of various ages. This is a fantasy with their progression happening slowly throughout the series, with occasional spikes in character power after certain encounters that may or may not be random. Although the book series is written with adult and young adult audiences in mind, it is, in the tradition of such epics as “The Lord of the Rings,” suitable for all ages. Excerpt from the scene depicted on the cover of the first book: “Above this hellish pack and the rider at the forefront, flurried a ghastly sight – a cloud of dark, endlessly bustling bodies and wings, a swarm of creatures that, through their almost infinite number, produced that great din which had first reached the ears…” RELEASE SCHEDULE is about once a week. The entire series should take around two and a half years of weekly chapter episodes, so do encourage me by reacting and following. Ratings are greatly appreciated!
