《Goblin Progenitor》Scouting

Lurk stared intently at the part of the city where the movement occurred, as he asked Aurk for more information.
"So what do we do with kobolds when we see them?"
Lurk had a inkling of what goblin responses towards kobolds, or for that matter anything or anyone would be. But he wanted to know more, he was worrying about the future. Could he really exist within a goblin group safely, or even ethically. They were capturing women and raping them to extend their numbers. Murdering and hurting for the sheer joy of it, Influenced by the trait [Evil].
Everything Lurk felt was he wanted to stop this, but he was only one goblin. He did not want to submit to this way of living. When he felt sure of his skills and knowledge of the world he would leave. For now he would help the Sun Soakers, helping to defend them and the nest would also be defending himself.
"They are tasty" Aurk stated
But then again, he could just leave right away, he thought on hearing that from Aurk as he hung his head down sighing.
"It is odd though that they are here at this fallen human nest." Aurk said staring intently down at the city.
"how come? i would think there would be a lot of hiding spots down in a city?" Lurk said as he regained his calm.
"this place is a hotspot for things to trafic through to get to the outside of the wastedlands." Aurk said as he pointed over to wards one side of the city and panned his hand.
"The city lies right up against the outer mountain here, the other side of the city, has that rising rock formation that stretches out for a long distance." Aurk

"So its a shortcut.. Ok..." Lurk nodded
"it is very risky to stay long term in such a location, so they must be here for something.." Aurk said just as Lurk noticed a movement.
Looking down at a collapsed building he saw a tiny humanoid form peek out from a hole in a building and quickly dart out and across to hide in another building. It had digitigrade legs ending in small claws instead of feet. Its torso was like a normal humans, up til it reached the neck. a long thing neck that ended into the shape of a lizards head with tiny horns. The kobold was holding in its tiny 4 clawed hands, a sack over its shoulders that seemed full.
"They seem to be looting or moving things ?" Lurk stated on seeing the kobold with its cargo. That was the one i saw running in behind that building it left. It was empty handed, look more of them." Lurk said just as another kobold came out with another bag over its shoulder. Aurk Nodded
"They must have found a chamber hidden beneath the buildings that no one has seen yet.." Aurk rubbed his chin.
"I guess that is a rare find, looking at how old this ruin is. Guess they are lucky" (Lurk)
"We will wait here and observe their numbers for a while. Then either we attack them or we go back to bring reinforcements from the nest." (Aurk)
"Wait really?"
Lurk asked that, knowing that of course they would attack. Even he was curious what they had. Was it dangerous? Was it useful. Would the kobolds become stronger and become a bigger threat. Though he was not sure if this what was Aurk thought, or simply he wanted kobold casserole for dinner.

"Yes. if we could find their nest it would be even better." Aurk said without hinting at a perticular reason. Goblins might not need reasons Lurk Surmised. After keeping an eye out on the city, watching the kobolds appear and disappear on occasion. They guessed the numbers to be around 7 or 8. They were moving bags and a crate from one building to another. Slowly and quietly. Instead of moving a single bag all the way out of the city. They would run back and forth meaning there was quite a lot of stuff being hauled.
"I wonder what it is they found?" Lurk asked quizzically
"What ever it is, they will be at the edge of the city before nightfall.. Hmm We will reunite with the others. Frel will decide on this. Come" Aurk said as he began crawling back down the hill for a bit making sure to be out of sight and then moving normally down into the forest again. Lurk quietly followed. During the time spendt his Skills updated a few times so he knew someone was watching out for enemies down in the city.
[Stealth] Has raised to 0.7
[Perception] Has raised to 0.5
("This system is weird, this literally confirms when someone is actively looking for you too... I guess this means no one else has this system but me. So its not that kind of world..")
Making their way back, along their normal patrol route they came to a large rock that speared out of the ground high up into the air. They met with Sala and Vorm that were hiding near it.
"Sala and Vorm saw nothing special, but got these rabbits!" Sala showed a few rabbits in her hands proudly, Vorm stayed hidden keeping his eyes opened towards the forest.
"Well we found something, Kobolds dragging loot from the fallen human nest." Aurk said just as Frel appeared out of the forest. Aurk then explained in greater detail to Frel while i sat with Sala and Vorm keeping a lookout.
"Sala will for sure kill more kobolds than Lurk!" Sala smirked and stared at me, i merely smiled at her.
Fighting for resources and territory, i sigh inwardly. Maybe i can raise my value in the group, at the very least i want to make sure nothing happens to Sala and Aurk, maybe even Vorm.
"I will go back to gather a group to come to the human nest, you take the others and assault them before they escape with the loot, scare them off or kill them." Frel said to Aurk, before he began heading back towards the cave.
("huh.. well i guess he would be the only one that could make the other goblins come out. Out of all the Sun Soakers he seems to be the only one the goblins would acknowledge") Lurk pondered as he followed behind Aurk back towards the ruined city.
"lets go kill some kobolds!" Aurk said, and a odd sensation ran down Lurks neck as everyone grinned, even he felt a smirk and a urge building.
("Dammit [Evil] trait.. ")

Cultivating Earth [Hiatus]
[This fiction is on indefinite hiatus. I'm currently acting as a 24-hour caregiver for my step-father who had a massive heart attack. I apologize for disappearing so quickly, but sometimes that's just life. I'll return as soon as possible. Sorry everyone!] Zhao Gang, after hundreds of thousands of years cultivating, has finally reached the penultimate threshold. He is ready to ascend to the level of True Immortal. Driven by the need for a place his enemies won't find him, Zhao Gang puts together an audacious plan. He has developed a revolutionary new formation which will allow him to ascend while on even the lowest planes. To avoid drawing attention, he has to choose a plane that is relatively desolate, however. He chooses Earth. Fast forward three thousand years. Zhao Gang discovers what his work has wrought - a cultivation-free culture that has delved the deep mysteries of creation - he can't help but think how this tiny little planet devoid of natural energy could affect the course of all creation. There's only one problem. For that to happen, he has to succeed in cultivating Earth. Notes: Chinese names should be ignored in the social context - they don't mean anything. Sorry for slaughtering such a beautiful tradition. This novel starts off slower than most. If the slow-roll isn't your thing, you might want to give this a pass. If it's not for you, I understand. Also, releases may be broken up into smaller chunks. The goal is 5k words, but definitely more than 4k. If you see a short release, be aware that more is probably coming. I'll be honest and say that I'm struggling with each new scene, if only because I want to balance the scope of vision with good pacing. I hope the work I put into it is worthwhile.

I'm Always Talking to Myself
My name is Zach. I’m a typical bland featureless protagonist type. The kind of guy who has purposefully few defining characteristics so that people can project whatever they want on me. Like Luke from Star Wars or what’s her name from Twilight. Most main characters are like me. Kind of flavorless blank slates because we all secretly doubt that we’re Harrison Ford, but pretty much anyone could be Mitt Romney. Yep. Yes indeed, I do spend basically my entire life running an internal dialog to no one. Usually I’m imagining that there are people listening. Like maybe philosophers from Ancient Greece, or researchers from another planet who act suspiciously like the characters from that Instagram comic with the aliens. Stupid Instagram comedians stealing my internal monologue and turning into a wildly successful enterprise which I would imagine has a vibrant merch dropshipping arm and hundreds of thousands of daily dopamine hits for loyal followers. I basically spend all of my time explaining random things to imaginary people (and aliens, and animals, and household items which have inexplicably gained sentience and frankly have some concerns about this whole existence thing). Honestly, it’s both highly entertaining to me, in that it makes me think about why we humans do all of the bizarre things that we do, but also horrifically exhausting and kind of makes you feel like you’re either, worst cast, losing your grip on reality, or best case, becoming Abed from Community. Anyway, I’m sure that I have some distinguishing characteristics, but, in the interest of hypnotic suggestion I’m choosing to omit them until I’m pretty sure that you have subconsciously come to identify with me, or until I feel like it. (By the way, in case I forgot to mention it, a higher power called Aww Thor or something told me to say that this is a slice-of-life comedy adventure and that it's set in a fantasy world with isekai and LitRPG elements.)
