*Bonk!*
"Ow!...Good morning Sala..."
Lurk rubbed his head as he was sitting up, Sala had been taking care of him the last few days helping him with some basic things. One of which was waking him up, when he failed to wake up earlier than her.
"What is good about it? you are saying strange things again!"
Sala had her arms crossed looking at Lurk as if he was weird. During the time he had been here the last week, he had kept to himself and not made a ruckus. Completely different from any normal goblin spawn, which would be constantly trying to test its boundary of supremacy. Since all goblins had a innate sense of being superior to other beings, goblins included. They would only submit through either raw dominance or physical violence. Neither had been needed with Lurk, he had calmly accepted his place in the new hierarchy, as the new guy or he was tricking her!!
Lurk had also gotten help from Sala to turn the rags into useful leg coverings, Lurk himself even thinking up threads before she could tell him to rip some of the cloth pieces into threads. Which annoyed her even further. How could she appear to be the stronger and the older goblin, if this annoying goblin kept one upping her. Any normal goblin would be hissing and spitting at being *Bonked* and she would then proceed to ramp up the use of physical violence. She had done it before with other goblins, Vorm being the last one.
Vorm has also become passive and accepted his place, but he was a lot more normal, with the first bit of his upbringing being violent and even attempts at her life with a rock he had found. He gave up quickly though since Vorm was a particularly small goblin and did not have great strength. He was extremely cunning though and very good at sneaking.
"Well get up, you are gonna train today, since you are big enough now!" Sala exclaimed after checking out Lurks height once he got up from his makeshift bedding, he made of the remaining rags. He had not left the cave during the last 7 days, and mostly he spend time cleaning up the cave, which further annoyed her to no end. Saying it was unhealthy to leave food scraps around or not cleaning blood of weapons or rags. He did get a bonk or two in the head when she thought he just wanted to take her weapon or her clothing. Even wasting water to such pointless tasks, but he calmly stated that since the main room had a small river running through it, water was not that rare a commodity.

They had left him inside alone everyday and left the cave to scout, the Sun Soakers tasks was to go outside during the day time, to make sure that nothing was encroaching on their cave and they also did some light hunting to bring back food for themselves, since most goblins were extremely uncomfortable out in daylight. Even sudden bright lights would cause disorientation in them. Which Lurk had already witnessed when the scythegirl rescued his mother. They also explorer out further at times, to confirm targets of opportunity for the rest of the goblins to go assault during the night, whenever that was relevant.
Their "breed" of goblin was not annoyed by sunlight in the slightest, which Lurk attributed to their more standard humanoid looking form, and their eyes all had different colors, instead of the common red.
During these 7 days Lurk had grown extremely fast, causing him to ache a lot as his body went from baby to teen in those few days. Goblins metabolism was really something he thought to himself. From what he understood after asking Sala about how long it took for a goblin to being born from the time of conception, it would take around 7-12 days, which caused quite a situation when he asked about it.
Sala thought he was trying to ask her to breed with him, which earned him the most consecutive bonks in a row yet. She explained that their group was forbidden to breed with their females, since they could not waste to loose manpower on it. Since the carrying of a goblin child was so fast it also drained the female intensely wracking their body and required alot of food.
Something the chief which he had not yet seen, had ordered for special goblin females to not undertake. He also found out that goblin females were very rare, and their main population came from forcing themselves on other humanoid species. Which was the only way the Sun Soakers would be allowed to breed, but even that was not done regularly at all, since the other goblins seemed to loathed the Sun Soakers, and fighting them if they tried to get in on the action. This also gave them the rare honor of having a separate piece of the cave to themselves.

"So what are you gonna train me in." asked Lurk picking up his small club.
"Fighting! of course! Sala will make sure you can chop as well as the next goblin." Sala exclaimed proudly, picking up her own small club. Aurk and Vorm were looking at them now, seemingly waiting for the entertainment to begin.
"Right when do we begin th..." Lurk asked when suddenly Sala lunged at him swinging her club at him, he immediately raised up his club to block her strike, and deflect it out to the side.
("Holy hell! atleast give a warning first!") Lurk thought and backed off after deflecting the hit.
[Mace] increased to 0.6)
Sala stared at him and swung out at him again mercilessly. "You should have struck at me there! not backed off!" She yelled as the club hit Lurk on his chest sending him sprawling backwards as he rolled off the ground trying to get up.
[Dodge] increased to 0.1
[Toughness] increased to 0.8
Lurk grimaced from the hit, he had noticed that all the bonks Sala had been giving him had been raising his Toughness, but he had not dodged before. His mace skill he had been training while they were outside on scouting duty. But most of the time he had been training his magic spells since he was alone. which he managed in raising them up quite a lot he felt.
[Wind Magic] 0.9
[Earth Magic] 0.3
[Holy Magic] 0.6
Wind magic was the easiest to train, but once he hit 0.9, regardless of how much he trained it would not go further. He could create a small wind blast, that could now annoy someone at best.
Earth Magic was also tricky since he did not know how to proper train it, he tried to focus on small rocks, causing them to jostle around a bit on the ground. The smallest of pebbles he could fling off by focusing on it.
Holy magic he first tried giving himself a small scratch, then trying to see if he could heal it, but nothing happened. He then tried to make light which worked as he could create a tiny speck of light at the end of his finger. Spending the last couple of days making the light move around and trying to make it go farther away from him or to make it more intense.
Running out of mana was the main reason why he could not keep training it. Compared to the room he was born in, the mana did not replenish as fast as back there.
Lurk focused on Sala, getting ready for her next strike which came swiftly at him. Managing to block it and swing back at her this time. But unfortunately Sala was faster and stronger than him, causing him to get another strike hitting his arm as he overextended his attack.
[Toughness] increased to 0.9
"Argh!. Ok ok! i yield!" He dropped his club from the pain and grabbed his arm which hurt like hell.
"...Yield? whats that?" Sala asked whilst she sent a fist flying towards his face.
"Huh?!" Lurk exclaimed as his head got punched, sending him flying.
[Toughness] Increased to 1
Unlocked Talent! - [Iron head]
"urgh... thanks menu...really nice letting me know...urgh..." Lurks vision was blurred out seeing Sala standing over him.
"Well! Good for a first try!..Hey! its not time to sleep yet!!"

Sarsaparilla's Scary Super Power. Completed
Sarsaparilla is an older teenage girl living on Mars. And, like many other young people around her, she has a super power. Or, rather, she is supposed to have a super power. Only she has never been able to activate it, she doesn’t even know what her super power is. This annoys her, tremendously. But she hides this behind a really sweet smile. Adalace is another teenage girl, also on Mars. She knows what her own super power is, and it is quite a good one. She is also really cute… so long has she keeps her feelings under control and doesn’t let out anything from her dark past. Teylon is a man, currently living on Earth. He likes to think of himself as still young, even if he is over fifty. He’s a bit smug about his successful career and is thinking of retiring… until a sadly unfortunate event leads him to the conclusion that he had better immigrate to Mars. Immediately. Apparently, meeting one’s own Angel of Death tends to cause people to make profound changes to their lives… Mars society had better brace itself, because once these three people, plus another three also not so quite stable individuals, collide with each other, the resulting explosion is not going to leave anyone on Mars unaffected. This is another Esmeralda, the Angel of Death, story. It follows on from my previous two such stories, but it is in no way dependent on the previous stories. They can be read in any order. It is fully written and proof read (using Word for Windows, no real editor touched this transcript) and comes to about 247,000 words (about 895 Royal Road pages). It is organized into 50 chapters and I will be publishing them roughly one per day. In my writing, there are multiple characters and multiple points of view. Each change in a point of view is introduced by a header, giving the viewpoint character’s name first, and possibly a title. Inside a Point of View section, dialog in italics represents the Point of View character’s thoughts, while dialog between quotes represent normal spoken dialog. This story is very much inspired by the anime A Certain Scientific Railgun. However I have only taken some elements from the anime, and changed everything I took to make my own story, and so it does not count as fanfiction. Yeah, I know, the book cover page isn’t very good. It’s the best I could do, by tracing over a stock image. The two ladies shown are supposed to be Adalace and Sarsaparilla. Ideally I would have liked there to be two images of this pair, one where they are smiling sweetly and looking cute, and one where they are looking really angry and dangerous. But that totally exceeds my graphics abilities. You will just have to imagine it.
