“Hyarghh!!”
It’s been a week since Daniel started his new ‘job’. Basically, his main job was to fight with the hologram in a room for 3 hours.
Every morning, he was instructed to get some exercise in the company gym before he entered the room. Once he was done with the exercise, he would enter the room and begin the fighting simulation.
The fighting capabilities and the number of the holograms spawned were based on Daniel's demands. After every fighting simulation, Daniel was given 5 minutes to rest.
For every fighting simulation, Daniel was equipped with a sword and a fighting uniforms, but with that said, Daniel was sceptical about the job since the job may take his own life. But the five times free meal, great salary, flexible working time and a bunch of experts carefully monitoring his health and injury level, made Daniel enjoy his new work.
And the fact that he can freely use the capsules in the company was a great plus. He could also refuse to do the fighting simulation if he said he was sick.
Today, Daniel worked particularly hard. The reason was, he needed to try something he had in mind for awhile. Daniel was especially demanding in asking to keep spawning five high level holograms at once without any rest until he asked them to stop.
The staff tried to refuse but the content of the contract were that Daniel's demands were absolute, so they can’t do anything but follow his orders.
It’s been 45 minutes since the fighting simulation started and Daniel already ‘killed’ 15 high level holograms. The holograms kept on spawning and Daniel already looked tired but Daniel still didn’t give the signal to stop.
“(I need to find that feeling again, what I used to unleashed the skill here before)”
The first time Daniel performed the fighting simulation in the room, he unleashed an unknown skill reflexively. The last duel he had with Chaos Knight make him eager to try something.
“(If the game can add or deduct my character status by analyzing my physical body, maybe it can also give me a new skill if I master a skill.)”
As usual, Daniel fought as if he was dancing. He dodged every attacks while countering with every chance he got.
While Daniel was busy with his fights, Alex came in the room outside of the fighting simulation room.

He watched Daniel fighting through the thick glass wall. Surely, only Alex's side can see through the glass wall while on Daniel's side, the glass wall only reflects his image.
While watching Daniel fighting, Alex approached one of the researchers to ask about Daniel.
“How was he?”
“Sir Alex, thank god you’re coming. Mister Daniel demanded us to keep on spawning five holograms at once. He didn’t get any rest until now, if we go on, he might discover…..”
Before the researcher can finish his words, Alex interrupted with a smirk.
“Nah, just let him do whatever he wants. We already got what we wanted anyway.”
*huff* *huff*
“HYarghh!!”
Daniel already tired himself out, but he kept on unleashing one heavy slash after another. He desperately wanted to learn the skill he unleashed that day through adrenaline.
Daniel's instincts told him that the skill would be a great addition to his character skill arsenal if the capsule could analyze it and make it a game skill.
To acquire the skill, Daniel asked the researchers to perform the dangerous life and death situation. For him to achieve greatness, Daniel thought betting on his life was worth it.
Ting!!
Ting!!
Ting!!
“Hyargh!!”
shing!
“Hyargh!”
shing!
*huf* *huf* *huf*
His breathing was already heavy and his vision got hazy. No normal human being can fight more then 20 minutes non stop. Daniel should have collapsed from fatigue a long time ago.
Maybe because of his training or maybe because of his determination, Daniel already fought for an hour and a half without taking a rest.
It was already a great feat, but instead of shouting ‘stop’, Daniel kept on fighting desperately. To him, learning that skill was that important. As a swordsman, having a finishing move was crucial and Daniel realized it when he fought Chaos Knight before.
Daniel kept on fighting desperately and without him knowing, he’s losing his consciousness. Now Daniel's body fought on reflex alone and he slashed anything coming on his way.
shing!
shing!
shing!
When his body was about to collapse, finally Daniel got the familiar feeling he had from before.
“Hyarrgh!!”
SHING!!
KRAAKK!!
His single slash cut two holograms at once and as if it was not enough, the glass wall behind the hologram also had a big sword slash mark.
Once he unleashed the skill, Daniel couldn’t even stand up anymore. He released his sword from his grasp and his body lowered to the ground, kneeling.
Daniel tried to speak, but his voice was like a whisper making it impossible for anyone to hear.

“St-stop.”
The other three holograms were already on their way to attack Daniel. Now, Daniel was like a death sentence prisoner that was waiting for his execution.
“(I guess this is it, I was too reckless.)”
Without any mercy, the three holograms slashed through Daniel’s body.
Shing!
Shing!
Shing!
As if he already accepting his fate, Daniel closed his eyes, waiting for death. Daniel felt a great pain from the sword slashes and his whole body collapsed to the ground.
Wing!!
Wiiiing!!
Wiiing!!
“DANGER!! FIGHTING SIMULATION STOPPED”
Daniel barely heard the computer like announcement and the sirens. From his blurry vision, he saw the researchers rushing through the door towards him a few seconds before his mind completely went blank.
******
“Woke up already?”
Confused, Daniel looked around him. He was currently lying on a three seater sofa and the room he was currently in was a four square room with a television, sofa and a coffee table.
“(The company waiting room?)”
Daniel saw Alex grinning while sitting on the sofa directly in front of him. After a moment, Daniel remembered what happened and checked on his body.
Instead of a seriously injured body, Daniel only had a few bruises. It was painful, but not something life threatening.
The attacks from the holograms were supposed to be real. Discovering his body was still intact, Daniel felt relieved, but his anger rose up once he realized.
“You lied to me.”
Still grinning, Alex replied as if it was none of his business.
“Ah, you found me out.”
Daniel was speechless, from day one he fought the holograms by betting on his life in his mind. He desperately dodged every attack and countered only if he thought it was absolutely safe.
While Daniel was still silent, Alex explained what happened.
“You collapsed from the fatigue of having an insane fight with five high level holograms for 96 minutes. As I thought, you are as reckless as ever.”
“Hmph! I was really a fool for not noticing this, maybe because it seemed too real for me when I fought the holograms.”
“The holograms themselves can’t harm anyone, the secret was in your equipment. This sword was actually installed with a high tech mechanism where it will act as if it hit something when you clash the sword with the holograms.
And the uniform you wear also has another function. Besides monitoring your health when you do the fighting simulation, it also gave appropriate ‘hurt signals’ when the holograms hit your body. Your body would not have any physical injury, but your body would experience pain up to 80%.”
Daniel didn’t like being lied to, but Alex's explanation made him relieved. Now he doesn’t need to fear for his life when he’s working. From now on Daniel can enjoy his job more since the life threatening experience was gone.
“Ah, I forgot. Here, take this.”
Alex took out an envelope from his coat and handed it over to Daniel.
“Open it.”
Daniel opened the envelope once Alex told him to. When he saw the contents of the envelope, he already knew what was going on, but Daniel still didn’t want to believe it.
“W-What is this?”
“Your salary, you have worked hard.”
Alex patted Daniel shoulder as if it was nothing. Daniel still didn’t want to believe it, he just loved his work since he now knows the work was not life threatening. He tried to smile, trying to negotiate.
“B-But I just worked for one week.”
“Yesterday I heard you fired all of the ‘TerraNorth’ members on top of destroying ‘TerraNorth’.”
“T-That, let's talk about it, professionally.”
“Hmm….Professionally you used your friend to obstruct TigerB from logging into the game so you could safely infiltrate the Grand Safe and rob it!.”
“..........Don’t take it personally, I don’t remember you were someone that held grudges.”
“Personally you just made me look like the weakest Emperor in Emperor Saga history.”
“...............That’s…..just a game?”
“And your game over, you’re FIRED.”
“.......What the…..how cheap you can be….”
“Guards, take him out of here!”
As if Alex already prepared, the guards came through the door almost instantly. If it was the game Daniel would stab Alex before he slayed all the guards, but since it was the reality, Daniel could only follow the guards quietly.
*sigh*
Once out of the building, Daniel was on his own again, he really couldn’t believe his bad luck this time. While Daniel in deep thought, a person approached him from behind, it was a beautiful lady that should have been working now, behind the desk, as a receptionist.
“Yo, you’ve been fired too?”
The lady's attitude was casual, but her eyes were red, instead of the trait of the player killer, a person with a red eyes in the real world was someone that cried earlier.
“........”
“.................”
Both Daniel and the lady hugged each other while crying…...

The Caring Dungeon
NOTE: I, as an 'author' am on a(n) (indefinite?) Hiatus. Without getting into too many details, the person who convinced me to write, who was my muse and my everything, is no longer in my life. I think about writing and I get physically ill and ache in ways that transcend the physical. I want to want to write, but I cannot find the energy. Life events, combined with apparently thin-skin when it comes to personal attacks on this platform, make it impossible for me. The messages, comments, and reviews I recieve(d) were so detrimental to my mental health that I've already removed one story from this website. This one remains up only because the criticisms located in this work are about my writing, and not personal attacks.I just felt like I should put something out there for anyone who is thinking about starting this story. It is not completed. I don't know that it ever will be at this point. I have lost my muse.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Not everything in this world is natural, and it's only natural to fear the unnatural. Fortunately for Manning, he was natural. Unfortunately, he found himself to be in a very unnatural state. Manning was trapped inside of a gemstone, called a dungeon core. Luckily for Manning, he found himself capable of using his newly found unnatural power to make a nature filled forest. With the help of Cara, his unnatural roommate, and Ash, his nature spirit companion, Manning dreams of covering the continent with the most beautiful and dangerous forest it has ever seen. His only other goals are to protect himself and Cara, and if he could ever remember, recover his memories. This is my first time attempting to write anything. Updates whenever I can find the energy and desire to write.

Statless
Summary Alexander Weiss, an intelligent and slightly unusual man, always dreamt of becoming a mage. Sadly, reality is harsh and even his best efforts never allowed him to achieve his goal during his lifetime... or did they? One has to be careful what they wish for, lest they might live to see it fulfilled. Description Follow Alex, a man whose pursuit of magic could not even be stopped by his non-magical reality, going as far as to create it himself, only to encounter an unsurmountable obstacle shortly before achieving his lifes goal, denying him all access to these powers. His journey will take him through a miraculous world, full of wonders, magic and manic beasts trying to devour him! He will learn much about this world during his adventures, exploring individual aspects of the System and the various monsters that came from it... or did they? Strong points What you'll get from this novel is the following (read with overly enthusiastic salesman-voice) : • An ending! I'll complete it, no matter what. Well, not "no matter what", but as long as I don't unexpectedly end, this novel won't either! • Good grammar! Might not be perfect, but it's definitely good enough to not detract from the story in the slightest. I'll also fix any reported mistakes as soon as possible, be they grammatical, syntactical or just inconsistencies. • No plot-armor! Or plot-weapons! Or plot-... potions? And no plot-holes! If you see some, it's most likely information that is being witheld for future revelations! But in the (hopefully) very unlikely case of such a vile beast being encountered, please inform me immediately and I'll see to slaying it without grace! (Translation: If you see plot-holes, tell me and I'll fix them) • Logic! [Hidden : Spoilers][Hidden : More Spoilers] [Moved to Chapter [Hidden Spoiler]'s Author's Note] Marvelous, I know! • Blue Boxes! And maybe something more! • Sensible retroactive edits! Not to be confused with radioactive edits! You'll not have to re-read previous chapters, even if they get some major edits. If they were to receive new information, I'll add that very information to the newly released chapters too, in a reasonable way. • Realism! Shocking, I know! Especially considering the tag related to that and the point about "Logic!". This also means that the story will be... well, realistically depicting a pretty messed up world. Don't expect bunnies... at least not cute ones. • Relatively faster paced! No long and boring descriptions of irrelevant stuff. There will be some longer descriptions about important things, but that's gonna be necessary world- and/or character-building! • Short action! Might not be a plus for some, but you won't have to look at a whole (or, god forbit, multiple) chapter describing a fight against the same enemy... • Strategy and hard progression! It's a dog-eat-dog world! No grinding/power-creep! If you're up against three enemies of your level at once, you've already lost! • Understanding! It will be mostly about discovering the wonders of this new world and how it became like that, all while trying to survive. So there will be enough action nonetheless! • Humor! Sometimes dark, sometimes light, always at the worst moment! • Constructive critics, welcome! Destructive critics, nope... I can handle criticism though, so don't go easy on me! Just make sure it's really a mistake when complaining about something. • Will add more in the future! If I can think of more stuff...

Meanwhile the hunter Rorik pursues her, dissatisfied but determined to achieve a better life by claiming her bounty. Three people seeking individual goals that will stir Patriam into war. (High fantasy with three protagonists, one of which is an undead. Expect fantasy action, my weak attempt at humour and medieval politics. This is my first work on RR, so feedback is very much appreciated to let me know what I'm doing right or wrong. Hope ya enjoy.)
