Its been 3 hour now since Chrono arrived at 'Deadwood'.He search every nook and cranny for Rubert but he still can't find him.

"(Now I'm frustrated)"

In his frustration, Chrono finally turn off his 'Walking Dead' skill and start slaying anyone or anything coming on his way. Of course it end up bad and he barely manage to escape with his life.

Then he activated his 'Walking Dead' again after he regained his composure. This time, whenever he sense lone monster or chaotic user, he will close in and kill them indiscriminately.

When killing a user, element of ambush was important. He always open up his attack by throwing heavy spear 2-3 times before he close in and finish the target.

Now it turns out 'Deadwood' becoming his farmed ground. After he explored the wood for the fifth round, he finally notice something weird.

"(That 'Soulless Knight' didn't moved from its spot)"

'Soulless Knight' supposed to be wandering around the wood but this one actually standing on the same spot. Chrono used to slayed all the lone monster and chaotic user he sense. But he always avoid high level chaotic user and high level monster such as 'Soulles Knight'.

"(Maybe Rubert died and become 'Soulles Knight'?)"

Defeating level 200 mini boss was impossible for Chrono since his level still too low. But he decide to try his luck anyway.First, Chrono turn off the 'Walking Dead' skill.

Instead of rushing to him, that particular 'Soulless Knight' stays on the same spot. Chrono activated 'Walking Dead' again after he obliterated other monster that rushing on him.Now he has a plan to defeated the 'Soulless Knight'.

"( Huhu....If I was right this is one of those event monster that can't leave their spot too far away.)"

From experience, Chrono knows how to handle these kind of monster. Chrono walk away from the 'Soulless Knight' until their distance were far enough.

Then he sheath Grave and using portal, take out heavy spear and throw it to the 'Soulless Knight'. By using both of his hand throwing the heavy spear continuesly, it looks like archer 'Quick Shot' skill only its 10 times stronger. Its the skill Chrono just developed, not an official skill but something he just came up with.

"Spear Barrage!"

Wooosh!!

Wooosshh!!

Wooshh!!

Woossh!!

When it got attack, the 'Soulless Knight' charge on him, it seems undead monster didn't get slowed even when their body get pierced by the heavy spear.The 'Soulless Knight' charge on Chrono with full speed but when it arrive....

'Fake Death'

There nothing but a 'corpse'. Then the 'Soulless Knight' returned to its spot. Chrono rise again and do the same thing.

"Spear Barrage!"

Then 'Soulless Knight' charge on him again.

dum...dum...dum...

Again, Chrono used

'Fake Death'

The knight back again to its spot.Then Chrono repeat the cycle.

"Spear Barrage!"

After a tiring 4 hour, Chrono finally manage to dropped the 'Soulless Knight' health to 5%. It takes longer than he thought since he need to defend against other monster and chaotic user.

For the last attack, Chrono decide to go all out.

"Spear Barrage!"

dum...dum..dum..

'Fake Death'

This time, when 'Soulless Knight' about to turn back, he activated 'Soul Blade' and stab him from behind.

Back stab!!

Critical Hit!!

Then Chrono continue to attack relentlessly until the knight dropped dead.When the knight finally slayed, something came out from its body. It was a man in the soul form.

"Where.....where am I?Did I turn to a monster?"

"Who are you?"

"I am Rubert, the mask creator.I was in my room creating my ultimate mask but the crucial material to complete it didn't arrived after many years. Frustrated, I try going to the town to get the material myself but I get killed on my way exiting the wood."

"I see, is that mean you didn't need the material I brought to you anymore?"

"It finally arrive? Why did it take so long?"

"It was hard for your friend to find someone trustworthy."

"I thought so"When Rubert try to continue,he suddenly held his head with both of his hand while he close his eye and scream which look like he try to endure unbelievable amount of pain.

"Ergh!!!Argh! It seems.....my soul would get corrupted again and I will turn back to 'Soulless Knight'."

"What? No, it was to hard to defeat that."

Rubert point at the spot the 'Soulless Knight' standing before.

"At that place my corpse and my incomplete ultimate mask lies. Bury the remaining material at that spot to make my soul rest in peace."

".......this expensive material?Bury it? What happen after I did that?"

" I will finally rest in peace and by doing good deed you will be cleansed from chaotic status, infamy and other bad status effect."

"After I done that what happen if I dig it again and retrieve the material?"

"...................I see you are greedy with the material. In that case I will turn back to 'Soulless Knight' and your previous reward will be cancel out."

"Hmmm......I'm sorry but let me test this first"

Using Grave, Chrono suddenly charge to Rubert and stab him. Since Rubert in the soul form, Grave feast on the soul Rubert.

"Arrghhh!!! You evil felloowww......!!!!"

Grave feast on Rubert until the pure soul remain.

"Th, thank you, I will rest in peace."

Just like that, Rubert finally rest in peace. But since Chrono method was 'evil', he didn't get the cleansing reward.

You find out that Rubert have died. Inform Avis about the result

But Chrono didn't leave yet. As if it was not enough, he went to the spot where Rubert corpse lies and start to search his belonging.

Clenching his fist, Chrono about to shout from joy. By crafting reward, it means fame, skill proficiency and STAT!! With this, Chrono can level his crafting skill proficiency faster and with the stat inflated, his avatar combat ability now can rival other combat class.

Until now Chrono fight using ambush element by using his spear throw and real life combat ability. But that much was still not enough for him. He need a powerful avatar to challenge the Emperor Seat. An avatar that at least has the same fighting abilities then a normal combat class.

Surely to earn that kind of avatar Chrono need to grind like mad.Unlike any other fighting class that just need equip armor for defense while having skill that make them easily earn extra damage. Chrono need to craft more then thousand item to reach the same level as those class.

As he about to cry from the tear of joy, Chrono check on his other loot. The first was 'Incomplete Mask', like its name, the mask still not completed. It seems Rubert trying to make an artifact type mask with it.

The second item was 'Rubert's Mask Making Noted'. It was also a self explanatory item, just like its name, the noted has all kind of detail on how to make the mask. Currently Chrono doesn't have time to study the noted, he decide to do it later.

After he buried Rubert corpse, Chrono exit the Deadwood and head back to the clan's hideout. He decide to complete the quest later since he need to prioritize his role in the clan.

"(I should go to sleep now)"

Chrono log out after he done with the clan's preparation for tomorrow activity.

Daniel head to Alex workplace after his done with his job. It was not that hard to look for since Alex workplace location was at 62 story building of the company that created Emperor Saga, DT entertainment.

Since Alex was one of the Emperor, he has his own room at 32nd floor. Daniel walk to the receptionist to ask for Alex.

"Err...I want to meet mister Alex ."

"Which Alex? Did you already make an appointment?"

"Alex the current Emperor in Emperor Saga game. And yeah he expect me to come."

"Your name?"

"Daniel just tell him my in game name was Chrono."

"I see...Chrono."

After the receptionist make a call and confirm,She guide Daniel to Alex.On their way to meet Alex, the receptionist open his mouth to start a conversation.

"Are you Chrono the smiling merchant? From the greatest clan in the world call BloodBrothers right?"

" Err...yes I was called the smiling merchant and from BloodBrothers, but that clan not the best in the world...."

"So, you plan to quit?And become the traitor? You want to become the traitor?"

".........Did you play Emperor Saga too?"

"Yes, all of DT employee play it."

"Don't tell me you are from BloodBrothers?"

"Nope, no."

"I'm sure you are. What's your in game name?"

" ..........Take a guess."

" From your reckless attitude don't tell me you are Jur..."

When Daniel about to speak the name, suddenly the receptionist grab his mouth to prevent him from talking further.

"Don't speak further!! It was hard for me to infiltrate here and observe those TerraFirma bastard."

Daniel put his hand gesture signaling he will not speak further. The receptionist release her hand and continue to guide him. Daniel wanted to ask more but the receptionist glared make him stop.For now he keep his curiosity deep down in his heart.

"(So, it's true, and yeah it's reckless)"

When Daniel arrived, he saw Alex sitting on the coffee table while drinking coffee.Once Alex saw Daniel, he asked Daniel to follow him after initial greeting. The receptionist left after they arrived.

"Where are we going? Aren't you want to brag about how big your work room to me?"

"No, nothing like that. I want to help your training while helping our company on something. If you are interested, you can quit your job and work here."

Hearing the abrupt proposal, Daniel eyes widened. He didn't expect Alex to invite him to the company.

"What? Is that out of pity or something?Did you try to belittle me?."

"Nothing like that. I will explain later, then you can decide."

Alex brought Daniel to one room that guard by security. Inside of the room, Alex take out 2 keys while REPLACEing it to the key hole. He then scan his eye when finally a door open before his eyes.

Beyond the door, was a lift that go straight to 62nd floor,the highest floor in the building. If Daniel think about it, the other normal lift only goes up to floor 60.

Once they arrived, Alex once again going through a tight security to proceed. The 62nd floor looks like a lab from a sci-fi movie.Since it was the first time for Daniel, he look around in amazement.

"Here,I would like you to work here."

"........I'm not a scientist and I hate becoming lab rat."

"Lab rat huh.......I guess you can call it that."

"So it was a lab rat huh.I would like to decline."

"No, wait just try it first. Enter that room, it's the room for combat simulation."

"Combat simulation?"

"Yeah, it can help in your training too. And we need some crucial data for Emperor Saga development.Since I'm busy with the other task I can't help with this."

"Emperor Saga development? This game not a complete game?"

"Sorry, I can't explain that. But can you just try it first?"

"Hmm.....it's not hurt to try...yeah let me try that."

"No, you can get hurt and even died. But because it's you, I know you can do it."

"WHAT?!"

"Nothing better then real combat simulation right?"

"How is this simulation of yours work?"

"It will generate some avatar that you can fight with. But since it was develop for military training, their attack was real, you can feel the pain, your limb can get severed and you can also died."

".................You try to kill me right?"

"The pay is good"

"Half of my salary worth."

".................Money....life. Wait , why I even consider it? NO!"

"You can try it first. I will let you fight the weakest avatar."

*sigh*"Okay, let me try once."

"Err...but first please sign these.It's the contract for the company to not take any responsibility if you are....."

"Fine!Just this once."

After signing the contract and some warming up, Daniel enter the combat simulation room with the sword given by the staff to him. Once the room closed an avatar of a man with the same figure of Daniel appear.

"(Here goes nothing)"

The avatar charge on him but its speed quite slow, Daniel defend the attack with ease. Daniel hit the avatar with a counter to its neck.

"(Hmmm....It's quite easy.Should I think about it?)"

Outside of the room, Alex observe Daniel from the thick bulletproof glass. He smile since he know if it's Daniel he can do it.Then, a figure of the man in his mid 30 appeared. He has a messy hair and wearing a thick glass but his face looks like a bad boy type.

"Hmm?What's this?"

Everyone around the room bow their head to him including Alex.It's the head researcher of the Emperor Saga and CEO of DT entertainment. The genius scientist who came out with the idea of Emperor Saga and built it from scratch.
