Interface You have new skills available. Select one. Furious Flurry Channel your anger and launch a rapid flurry of strikes against your opponent. This skill can be used unarmed or with a weapon, either with or without a martial technique. The speed of attacks diminishes over the duration of this skill. Attacks are randomly launched within a radius of half the user’s arm length and have a reach equal to the length of the user’s weapon. After the skill ends, the user will feel very tired. This skill’s effectiveness depends on the level of the user’s anger. Cast time: 1 second, Mana Consumption: 10 mana/second, Recharge rate: This skill can only be used after 4 hours of sleep. Bone to Stone Convert all your bones into stone temporarily. Your bones become stronger, more durable yet heavier. Your melee attacks will be slower yet they will carry more power. Your bones will be much harder to break. This skill lasts for 30 minutes after which your bones will turn back to normal. Cast time: 10 seconds, Mana Consumption: 120 mana, Recharge rate: 4 hours. Obsidian Offensive Cover a weapon of your choosing in magical shards of obsidian, enhancing the weapon’s durability and damage. One can enchant a weapon, or themselves. One can enchant the weapons of others. One must be in direct contact with the weapon they wish to enchant. The effect of this spill lasts for 30 minutes. Cast time: Depends on weapon size, Mana consumption: Depends on weapon size, Recharge rate: None.

Finally, I had to choose my skills. [Furious Flurry] seemed powerful for a barbarian. [Bone to Stone] seemed like a good defensive spell, but it would limit my agility. It was best to avoid an attack completely, rather than to endure the blow. [Obsidian Offensive] seemed both like a good spell to use on me and others. I could temporarily increase the combat strength of the tribe. and the spell seemed like a natural fit for my [Crystallomancer] class.

After the fight with the Refined Frogman, my stats had increased slightly on their own.

Interface You have raised your Strength by 1, (14 → 15) You have raised your Agility by 1, (15 → 16) You have raised your Dexterity by 1, (18 → 19) You have raised your Intelligence by 1, (19 → 20) You have raised your Willpower by 2, (20 → 22)

My physical attributes had grown to be above average, and since I was aiming to become more of a sorcerer than a fighter, it would be wise to put points into [Intelligence] and [Willpower]. But I still didn’t want to neglect my other points, being able to stab something with a spear was still important. I had 15 points available, so I had no problems choosing what to raise.

Interface You have raised your Strength by 2, (15 → 17) You have raised your Agility by 2, (16 → 18) You have raised your Dexterity by 3, (19 → 22) You have raised your Intelligence by 5, (20 → 25) You have raised your Willpower by 3, (22 → 25)

I confirmed all my choices.

Interface Congratulations, you are now a Crystallomancer, you have learned [Gem Scent (Beginner)], [Gem Appraisal (Beginner)] automatically. As part of receiving a class, you can choose 1 of 3 spells to learn Congratulations, you are now a Lapidary, you have learned [Cutting (Beginner)], [Faceting (Beginner)], [Polishing (Beginner)]), [Inlaying (Beginner)], [Stone Appraisal (Beginner)] You have learned [Obsidian Offensive (Beginner)] Interface You have spells available. Select one. Crystallisation Ray Fire a beam of pure petrifying crystal magic from your hands or magical implement. Those hit by the beam will have their bodies slowly turn into crystal, starting from their toes to their head. People partially affected by the crystallisation will experience impaired movement, the level of which depends on the severity of crystallisation. Crystallisation eventually fades away. The target dies instantly once completely crystalised, their body completely turns into a quartz crystal of a random colour, and then the crystalised victim will crumble into a small pile of crystal. The speed at which a target is crystallised depends on its size. This spell does not work on inanimate objects. The target has to be within the caster's vision. Cast time: 15 seconds, Mana consumption: 20 mana/second, Recharge rate: None. Shimmering Salvo Launch a volley of sparkling bursts of mana towards your enemies, dealing magical damage and blinding them. You will shoot out 5 magical bolts which select and attack targets on their own. If there is a single target, all the bolts will attack that target. If there are no visible target within the user’s vision, the bolts will shoot forward. The bolts will only target enemies within the user’s vision and can only travel to some extent. Bolts will dissipate naturally after 10 minutes. Cast time: 10 seconds, Mana consumption: 100 Mana, Recharge rate: 3 minutes. Destabilizing Diorite Pillar Raise a giant diorite pillar covered in ancient runes from the earth to destabilize your enemies. The pillar sends waves of energy that disorients your opponents causing them to have impaired motor controls and a lack of balance. This pillar is 3 metres tall and affects enemies within a 15-metre radius. The destabilisation effect lasts as long enemies remain in the pillar’s field. The pillar can be broken, if this happens, the spell will cancel. The spell can only be cast within 10 metres of the user. Cast time: 1 minute, Mana consumption: 50 Mana/minute, Recharge rate 12 Hours. The effects of the [Destabilizing Diorite Pillar] were interesting, it was good for group fights. Yet the fact that this spell can only be cast nearby and that that would take a full minute, would not be very useful. Someone could attack me while I was casting the spell. The [Crystallization Ray] was the best choice considering my choice of class as well. If I could keep the beam concentrated on an enemy, their movement would be impeded, which meant I could keep the beam on them longer, eventually killing them. Shimmering Salvo seemed like a powerful offensive move, not to mention it is a multi-target spell. But I cannot tell how it will select targets, not to mention the mana cost. I had plenty of single-target offensive spells. I was fed up with all these screens and spells. I shooed them away and went to bed. The next day when I woke up, Voglo had come to me to present the dagger.
