《I Come From The Water》12: The 937th

(Lave POV)
I collected my last dagger from the hideous green monkey. Really why did it have to be so gross looking. I grimaced down at the horrid thing. I will never understand how people can see these creatures as cute. Flipping the dagger around, to clean it, I placed it into it’s sheath.
Turning around I studied the man that walked out from the tree line. He had been hiding for a while but finally decided to man up and make himself known. His cloths looked like dirty rags that were used to clean a shredder. With rips and blood stains all over the place. Really its a disgrace to even call those things cloths.
Amice and him were having a heated discussion over what I can only assume was about his lack of… well everything. It is so boring to watch two people talk when you can’t understand anything. Oh I know, I can speak for them. Ok, lets time it.
The man had a goofy smile on his face but a sharp glint in his eyes. “እኔ እንዴት ማየት አይደለም [ I see that you have discovered my true identity. Behold I am actually the Wondering Hobo. ] ”
Amice was glareing at the man as he spoke. “አለህ [ If you are the all powerful Wondering Hobo of legend then prove it. ] ይህ በጣም አሳፋሪ ነው.” Ops, I stopped to soon.
The man laughed shyly. “እኔ እንዴት እንደሆነ ለመረዳት [ You wish to see this Hobo’s power? I understand then just watch me. Laser Beam!!!! ]” I thrust one hand forward while shouting proudly at the name for the Wondering Hobo’s all mighty power.
“Lave?” Amice’s concerned voice broke into my little play. The smile fell from my face as I focused back on the two. Really she just had to go and ruin my fun. Turning around I walked over to where my bag laid. If she is just going to ruin my fun then I might as well eat. I’m hungry anyway.

I pulled out my last red apple fruit thing. These things taste amazing. It had a wonderfully thick sweet taste that clenched your thirst. So delicious. I don’t understand why they don’t sell them in town.

(Amice POV)
Lave was making a strange pose after shouting randomly. I glanced around to see if there was anything dangerous nearby but it was clear.
“Lave?” I called out nervously. Her eyes focused on me and her enchanting smile dropped. With a dismissive attitude she walked over to her sack and pulled out a Red Death fruit. Really how many does she have?? With a large sigh I turned back to the man in front of me. He just stood there staring wide eyed at Lave. “Alright mystery man what were you saying?”
As if waking from a daze he spoke while still watching Lave. “D-Does she always eat those?” I frowned at him. Of course it is weird to see some one eat a Red Death fruit without actually dying, in fact it was pretty much impossible. However he was acting as if that would explain something.
“… I don’t see why I need to answer the question of a strange person wondering around one of the most dangerous places in the world, with only rags on.” He finally looked back at me. His unusual green eyes focusing on me. Thinking about it Lave’s lovely pink ones were also very unusual.
“Ah, how rude of me. My name is Gra-n. I some how got lost and ended up here.” He looked a little bit nervous when he stated his name, but that quickly faded.
“I see Gran. Well what are you doing wondering around looking like that?” He was fishy. There was something wrong with him. He looked like he just escaped from captures that had a thing for torture. Bloodied and raw skin showed on his ankles and wrists as if he had been chained for a extended time. He was also covered in multiple jagged cuts that showed the culprit wanted to inflict extreme pain.

He smiled shyly as if embarrassed. “It is rather embarrassing actually. I am a sailor. However I wished to see more of what the land had to offer. As such I hired some people to take me around. In the end I was betrayed. After stealing all my stuff, they threw me out into the wild. I was left to die.” He laughed awkwardly. Ah, the poor thing.
“That’s horrible. How can anyone be so mean.” After hearing such a sad story who wouldn’t want to help. I know that I have failed to help people 936 times before, but this time I will succeed. I will help him! “Gran don’t worry, Lave and I will help you get back to your boat. Ah, also my name is Amice and she is Lave. Its nice to meet you.”
We shook hands while the man looked relieved. “I’m so glad. I didn’t know what I was going to do.” His sincerity showed in his eyes.
Digging around in my pack I pulled out a shirt and pants. Thankfully I wear baggy cloths so they should fit him. “Take this. Its probably very uncomfortable wondering around in those rags.” He smiled thankfully and walked behind a couple trees to change cloths. I cheerfully smiled. I Amice Hill will put forth all my power to help you! Even if I have to die trying! While making a silent vow I finished gathering the Dragon Root in the area. Now we just have to wash them.
