《I Come From The Water》10.5: Sanctuary

We slowly made our way down the marble hallway. Our white and gold cape sweeping along the reflective floor. We chose to take the long way to the meeting hall to think about an unforeseen issue.
Earlier today we were told that our ‘special’ prisoner escaped. Apparently it broke out of its cell in the middle of the night and snuck out before anyone noticed. Should we call it lack of vigilance or luck that let it escape? We ground our teeth in annoyance. To think that they called themselves Solitary’s Holy Knights. All of them need to be reeducated.
We walked through the intricately decorated door of the meeting room. Seven people were standing around the table with stern looks. “My Solace.” They said while we took our seat at the head of the table.
The group sat down and waited for us to start the meeting. “Report.”
“Last night our ‘special’ prisoner escaped. None of the knights saw what happened. Right now I am investigating who was in charge of the watch but it may be a while to find out who is responsible for this blunder.” This man was dressed in a tight fitting uniform accented in red while his light brown hair was cut short.
“Knight Captain Korgin, am I to understand that instead of looking for this Heathen you have decided to look for the one responsible for his escape?” Asked one of the people on the right side of the table. His blond hair was braided hanging down to the small of his back. While the white and silver cloths hung loosely hiding his physic.
“I assure you Minister Brae that the capture of the criminal is being handled.” Knight Captain Korgin replied.
“Yes, Brae. I’m handling the capture of the ruffian who escaped.” Answered a relatively lax looking man at the left end of the table. His feet were swung over the arm rest turning the chair into a lounger. “We have already placed a bounty on his head. Right now there are posters at every Guild on the continent.”

“And what is that supposed to due? Let the people know that Solitary can not keep track of its prisoners? Or is it to inform them that our dungeons are escapable?” Minister Brae said distastefully. “Also what money are you using to place this bounty?”
“Now, now just relax. The people think that this person is just wanted not that he escaped. Plus the money doesn’t have to be payed. We can just kill the person who brings in the criminal.” Said the lax man dismissively.
“Ho, quite the evil thing you have planed. I’m surprised you can say that with a strait face Chu.” Replied a man dressed in an entirely white robe that hid his face.
“How rude. In what way am I evil?” Chu showed an insulted look.
The robed figure chucked. “As you say.”
“As Chu is in charge of capturing the criminal, We will leave it to him.” We stated to the seven. “Now Lai tell us what you found out from that criminal.”
“Yes, my Solace.” Answered Lai. He had a rough look while wearing a completely black uniform accented in red. “It would seem that he came from over the water to this continent, just like we were informed.”
A smile broke out on our face. “And?”
“We have determined that the land over the water is reachable. We just need a capable crew. From what he told us they follow a completely different god. In fact more than one.” Lai said with a dry voice.
“Heathens!” Shouted Brae slamming his fist down on the table. “They dare sully Imperious with their false gods?!”
“Now Brae they are just a group of ruffians who know nothing of the world. I’m sure they don’t even have a money system in place.” Said an arrogant looking man wearing a gold and silver cape.

We glared at Brae. “Continue.”
“Very well. They call the land Zell. They also speak a different language. Thankfully this one spoke Common.”
“Then how do you know that they speak a different language?” Asked Chu with interest.
“He would insult me with unknown words randomly throughout the interrogation.”
“I bet that was a sight to see.” Chu laughed.
“Quite. We'll bring this conference to an end. Bring Us that criminal. Imperious want that land.”
““Yes my Solace!”” Everyone keeled as We walked out of the room. Zell will soon be Ours.
