《The Primordial Tower [Re]》Chapter 40- Quest

Note: Revostrium weapons can only record 5/5 uncommon weapon slot items of every class (Bow, Shield and 1h/2h weapons, 15 in total). If more equipment wishes to be memorized, a previous blueprint must be completely purged. No such restriction upon common items.
Cooldowns are dependant upon specific type of skill and weapon class rarity (Averaged value of every skill of the same category, universal across all weapons of the same rank calculated). Additional skills cooldown continue counting down regardless of the form the revostrium blade takes. These restrictions do not apply on masterworked weapons.
Weapon only skills cannot be replicated onto a different weapon. Skills cannot be transposed to a different equipment class.
Noah had known this moment would come eventually, but it was better to know in advance then go in completely blind. The Revostrium wasn't a cheat, in the sense that it would let you avoid cooldowns and just blaze through everything in its path, but au contraire, a master blacksmithing tool that could take five garbage or average weapons and turn them into one really powerful blade, while also retaining the ability to transfer into the other four weapons.
Mace of Bludgeoning Fury, Uncommon
Additional Skills-
Fury Strike- Every second strike on a single entity within 60 seconds has a 50 percent chance of causing a 75 percent increase in strength and a 25 percent increase in dexterity.Cooldown- 360 seconds.
Continous Bleed- Every third strike on a single entity has a 40 percent chance to inflict a bleeding effect (Efficacy of bleeding effect is dependant on the entity's Constitution Stat).
Blood Hound- Summon a Blood Hound that will relentlessly track down and hunt the first target you direct it towards. Cooldown- 7 Days.
Rapier of Piercing Accuracy, Uncommon
Additional Skills-
Rapier Specialist I- Lunges are 25 percent faster.
Graceful Ballad- Every successfully parried strike increases accuracy by 1 percent to a maximum of 25 percent. Any interruption/failed parry resets the count. (Dependant upon target's Dexterity and Constitution Stat). Effect lasts for 180 seconds before fading.
Rapier Specialist II- Every subsequent uninterrupted strike is faster than the previous strike by 1 percent to a maximum of 30 percent. Stack resets with each disruption.
Honestly, feeding the rapier was a tough call, but he just couldn't see himself using such a specialized weapon when he had no interest in training in it, and [Graceful Ballad was a solid passive skill to have. As for the [Mace of Bludgeoning Fury], Noah really liked the [Continous Bleed] passive effect, but the mace seemed like an awfully impractical, and frankly low-skill weapon, that he wasn't interested in maining.
Oh yeah, he had already been removed of his gladius curtesy his new familiar, but it still took up a slot as an [Uncommon] weapon so he only had one slot remaining.
Gladius of Piercing Frost, Quality: Uncommon
Requirements- 30 Dexterity
A short double-edged blade of fine make that is ideally most lethal when paired with a shield, the gladius’ short size and light weight makes it a weapon that enjoys a distinct advantage when paired against a foe with a weightier, more unwieldy weapon in close quarters. However, the gladius’ short length may also prove to be a heavy disadvantage when faced with foes that carry weapons with overwhelming reach and range.
Additional Effects-
Flash strike- Land five successful strikes on a single entity (monster or human) within 60 seconds, and the sixth strike will enjoy a 150 percent increase in speed. Cooldown- 300 seconds.
Ice Blitz- Every sixth successful strike on a single entity has a 50% chance to inflict a freezing effect (efficacy of freezing effect is dependent upon the entity’s constitution stat).
Ice Clone- Summon an ice doppelganger to fight alongside you for a duration of 30 minutes. The doppelganger shares 50% of your stats and can only obey basic instructions. Cooldown- 7 days. Note- Doppelganger cannot be summoned with primordial spirit active.
Congratulations, the Revostrium familiar has reached level 11!

"Well, before doing anything else I'd better up your stats," Noah spoke aloud, investing 20 points into Intelligence and 10 into wisdom.
A white halo enveloped the weapon, and Noah watched on with bated breath.
"Hello!" Noah cheerfully called out, wondering if he'd get a response.
"Uhhhm..." An uncertain, decidedly female voice similar in pitch to an infant or a very young child echoed out in Noah's mind, replying slowly as if she were trying to find the correct words to express herself, "Hello... Noah... Smith... ."
The child rolled the words in her mouth, basking in the novelty of saying those words for the first time, or so it seemed at least. Before Noah could respond, the child once again asked, "I....who?"
It took a moment for Noah to realize that the child was probably reading text out of the status screen, making him feel like a rude idiot for not naming her earlier.
"Hmm let's see, you can transform into many powerful weapons at once, so Arsenal could be a good name. But, that's too boyish and kind of war-like. Mercury comes to mind, but by defintion that's an androgenous name. How about Omni, representing your ability to take the form of many fascinating weapons at the same time while sounding pleasant to hear at the same time?" Noah asked, wanting her input on the final decision. He had actually mulled over the decision for a while now, shortlisting three final candidates before zeroing in on one after he realized she was female.
"Me... Omni....Hrmmm...." She seemed to mull over it for a long minute, before replying, "Mhm... Omni.... I.... Like....!"
"So be it," Noah said, inputting the name in the selection box.
Name: Omni
Gender: Female

Next, it was time to forge a masterwork.
"Omni, here you go," Noah said, tossing her the [Runic Scimitar of the Duellist] with a sigh.
"Are you sure?" she asked, and while the response was still slow she no longer took a long pause before each word, coming to terms with her new intelligence faster than Noah had anticipated.
"Yup," he nodded without hesitation.

"Thank you, Noah!" she cheerfully chimed, transforming back into a silvery blob, reducing the weapon into vapor in a matter of moments.
Five Uncommon level weapons have been memorized. The limit has been reached.
Noah opened up the [Masterwork Creation] menu, finally wanting to see the results of his efforts.
Masterwork Revostrium Gladius, Uncommon
Requirements- 30 Dexterity
Continous Bleed- Every third strike on a single entity has a 40 percent chance to inflict a bleeding effect (Efficacy of bleeding effect is dependant on the entity's Constitution Stat).
Ice Blitz- Every sixth successful strike on a single entity has a 50% chance to inflict a freezing effect (efficacy of freezing effect is dependent upon the entity’s constitution stat).
Graceful Ballad- Every successfully parried strike increases accuracy by 1 percent to a maximum of 25 percent. Any interruption/failed parry resets the count. (Dependant upon target's Dexterity and Constitution Stat). Effect lasts for 180 seconds before fading.
Master Duellist- Each strike from an entity succesfully parried increases speed by 5 percent, to a maximum of 50 percent within 10 minutes. Duration- 10 minutes. Cooldown- 30 minutes.
Noah looked over the weapon with a satisfied smile on his face. The weapon had two elemental passives that had no cooldown, and each time he successfully parried a strike he would recieve a +5% speed boost and +1% boost in accuracy. Of course, [Master Duellist] wasn't a passive and hence had a cooldown, but that 50% boost in speed was just too good a bonus to miss on.
"A build focused on parrying boosts and two elemental passives? Not bad lad, given the options," Liam remarked with an appraising tone, giving Noah a light nod. That confirmed it, and-
Are you sure you wish to save this Masterwork? The Masterwork does not take up a weapon slot but only one masterwork can be recorded at any given time. There is a cooldown of 30 days before you can attempt Masterwork Creation again.
Noah pressed yes, and quite frankly, nothing happened.
"Omni, can you transform into the gladius for me?" Noah politely asked, hoping she would be able to.
"Yes!" she enthusiastically replied, moving from a silvery pool on the ground to a blade that fit in his hand with snug familiarity. A wicked gladius that had a thin blood red coating running along its edges, painted in an icy blue coat that gave the weapon a beautiful frosty sheen, with a lithe and more elegant build than its predecessor. Even an idiot could tell that this was either a weapon of exceptional make, or it's owner was just a massive showboater.
The [Arm-shield of Deflection] was a long gauntlet that covered his left arm half way through, affixed to which was a small shield that wouldn't get in his way too much while engaging in combat. He also decided to keep the [Composite Bow of the Waterdrop], a medium ranged bow that seemed to be a jack-of-all trades instead of a specialist weapon.
The rest, he fed to Omni, preserving one specimen of each category- weapon, shield and bow, With a gauntleted shield, gladius, Goblin Lord's armor and a quiver slung at his back, Noah looked like he was fully armored and ready for a fight.
"Okay Omni, when I think of a weapon I want you to switch into that form. And give priority to uncommon weapons over common ones, can you do that?" Noah slowly asked, so that Omni would understand each and every word he was conveying.
"Pri-ori-ty... Okay... I think I understand!" She enthusiastically replied, filling Noah with gratification.
Noah lunged forward with his gladius, which transformed into a long spear mid-flight- he had no uncommon spears, so it was a common one, that he brandished with one arm. He pivoted on one foot, weapon transitioning from spear to a thin rapier that he immediately recognized as [Rapier of Piercing Accuracy], but switched to [Longsword of Blazing Inferno] as the blade was falling, barely able to maintain a grip over it with one hand, carving a small crevise into the ground.
"That was great, Omni! You're awesome!" Noah replied with a shocked expression on his face, bewildered by how lethal such a fighting style could be.
"Awe-so-me. That's right, Omni is awesome!" She seemed to relish at being compimented, humming in delight.
Just when Noah was about to explore Omni's bow and shield form, a notification popped up in front of him.
Special Quest, Difficulty- S+
Cannot be refused.
Azmahak, upon reaching the Wailun Sect, has discovered the full extent of your duplicitous lies, and your infiltration into the Sect. Sir Prayn, upon hearing this, almost violated the sacred pact in a fit of rage (Those belonging to a higher realm of existance may not directly take action against those of a lower realm- by order of the Sacred Court), however reason prevailed in the end. The order did not prevent him from taking action against the vice sect leader of the Saemanis Sect, whom he hunted down and soul scoured to discover your true identity. He is now convinced that you are in possession of the Revostrium after consulting with his Truthseeker.
As unclassed, most of the sect disciples of the four sects or Sir Prayn himself cannot take action against you. However, the Sect City of Saemanis has seen a recent influx of travellers (challengers) who are unclassed. Sir Prayn has commanded the four sect alliance to issue a kill order against you, putting a bounty of one uncommon armor set, one uncommon dagger, one uncommon weapon, one common artifact, one common accessory, one top tier combat art and 1000 Platinum Tokkim.
Quest Requirements: Survive for 24 hours starting in 3...2....1.
[The Primordial Spirit of the Blessed Fox can sense the location of those it has blessed for 48 hours!]
[The Primordial Spirit of the Blessed Fox has sealed off your primordial spirit transformation!]
[A Tracking Mark has been placed on you, that will reveal your location every 30 minutes to every nearby challenger]
In the Sect City of Saemanis, challengers watched in bewilderment as the Golden Pagoda self-imploded, sending a cloud of debris followed by golden robed cultivators gathering at the city's outskirts, transforming into various primordial spirits and hightailing it.
That, however, could not be described as the most bizzare occurence of the day.
Because just a few moments later, each and every challenger that had survived gridlocked recieved the same system prompt:
Kill Challenger

Reward: x1 uncommon armor set, x1 uncommon dagger, x1 uncommon weapon, x1 common artifact, x1 common accessory, x1 top tier earth ranked combat art and x 1000 Platinum Tokkim.

The Undead Revolution
This was my first attempt at writing a story, in hiatus indefinitely. This story follows Silvy, half-elf, a rare race despised by both humans and elves. Having never met her father, the first years of her life were spent together with her mother, who had to leave her native village because of the blasphemy she had committed by giving birth to Silvy. At the age of eight, Silvy became an orphan and was left to fend for herself. Her mother had died of illness, Silvy’s life turning upside down: the child went from living in a modest but cozy home with poor but daily meals to live outside the walls in the slums, where crime was commonplace and food was scarce. Luck had yet to abandon her completely though, because a group of orphans like Silvy decided to help, integrating her into their group and teaching the tricks of the trade; that is, stealing and swindling. But fate had not yet finished playing with her. Kidnapped and frightened, her life will turn upside down again when she awakens as undead, but still able to think clearly.

The Weather Vane
This is the first few chapter of my new book available on Amazon. The beginning is very light and fun, but more mature content comes later. From medieval fantasy to ultra high-tech to dinosaurs, The Weather Vane is a grippingly fast-paced adventure full of fun and excitement, literary flourish, and colorful characters. A group of ascendant masters find themselves in the afterlife and learn that they are newly recruited into the cosmic battle of good versus evil. Before they can join the fight, shipwreck strikes and they are lost in the ether. Stranded in a magical land beyond the reaches of the universe, The Weather Vane follows our crew of heroes as they try to piece things back together even while The Dark Lord’s forces march, maraud, and murder at every turn. Themes of darkness chase the overall levity of The Weather Vane which suffers not a lull as the climax begins near the beginning of the book and drives on through the greatly satisfying finish. The most epic of epics.

Forced Development (What does it truly mean to live a fulfilling life?)
To get things started I would like to admit that this story does not bring much new to the table when it comes to the over-saturated Litrpg genre in terms of things like mechanics and power systems. Then what exactly am I trying to bring to the table with this work? A nice slow-paced novel about people maturing and growing older think of it as the re: zero or jobless reincarnation of Litrpgs. A story that tries to take into consideration how a worldwide system would affect the economics and culture of a world. A story that is much more character-focused than the typical heavy progression-focused novels this genre is known for. The RPG system, like any good power system, is there to actually explore the themes of the story and not just as a plot device for characters to get stronger. This is a story where we will see the growth of the Mc from being a baby to when he dies of old age. With plenty of heart-racing actions and intriguing plot developments along the way. Exploring themes like; What does it mean to improve at something and what does it mean to mature as a person? How does magic, the constant threat of monsters and people so much stronger than the average joe that they can destroy countries affect one's culture both on the micro and the macro scale? How people are affected by the culture in general? Generational trauma Nature vs Nurture Talent vs hard work What is morality, society, and people's opinions on both? What does it mean to be human and what does it mean to be alive in the context of a world with multiple sapient species vastly different from one another in basic biology? All these questions are going to be explored from multiple angles using the system as a catalyst for those discussions. So if any of does questions sound interesting to you what are you waiting for, I'm sure you are going to love this story. PS - Chapter come out every Friday at about the same time.
