《Throne of Blood》Destiny

*Mehr’s POV*
I knew I needed to end this quickly and leave the place, but my old habits flared up at the worst time.
‘Not now Mehr. don't be a passive aggressive prick again. You've changed, haven't you?’
I swung my blade towards Dorian's legs as I had these fleeting thoughts. I could feel little impact as the blade shallowly cut his leg. I pivoted my body on my right leg to avoid Dorian's vertical sword slash.
I thought that I could have finished it by now, after all my mana application was much better than my enemy. It looks like I severely miscalculated the height and stamina difference.
I had been feeling the strain on my lungs for a while now. I knew I had to move in for the kill, and for that I needed my most proficient weapon.
I started putting in more mana around the blade as I molded it in the shape of a spear. I knew this would be my last attempt at the attack. My stamina had hit rock bottom and i didnt have any more strength to continue the fight.
As soon as the mana took the shape of the staff with my blade attached at its tip, I noticed Dorian's face turn pale.
“How……?”
I moved in for the kill as soon as I noticed that Dorian's mind had wavered. I swing the mana spear with the full weight of my body in arc. Dorian's expression turned sharp as he hurriedly moved backwards. But I knew i had done it.
I could see the blood flowing out of Dorian's throat. I couldn't cut off his neck completely, but his death was inevitable. I released the mana around the blade as I started walking towards him. Even though he was someone I hated, I wanted him to have a painless death at the very least. I… just didn't want to revert to my old self. I had started thinking that this new life was a gift from a higher power so that I could mend my old ways. Maybe, forgiving Iwan at the brink of death had provided me with this opportunity, and I wanted to, at least, feel like a good guy.

I reached his body as I held the blade in my hand tightly. I moved towards his neck and crouched down to look at his eyes as just before pushing my blade in his neck. I noticed that his lips were moving as he struggled to utter some words.
‘Monster..’
I kept looking as the light in his eyes dimmed slowly. Monster, hah? This really brings back some shitty memories.
“YOU ARE NO MAN!!
Mehr? Haah, what a farce! You are ‘Amon’ and you always will be!!! No matter how much you try, you will always be a fucking monster!!”
I shook my head as I remembered an unpleasant memory. Even though I was free now, all of this had left a sour taste in my mouth. No matter how much I try to run away from the past, it always sticks close to me. But it was time now, to leave this place and those memories behind, and start a free life.
*Cecile Amavus’ POV*
I opened my eyes gradually as the scent of blood entered my nose. I stood up from my kneeling position before turning around to look at the guards around me. I noticed the corpses of beasts around our location, some of which had even started rotting.
“We will need to change our locations soon Lady Cecile. The scent will attract other beasts as well.”
I nodded at the words of the captain of the guards as I dusted the soil from my gown. Beasts were not the only threats here. If the royal army of Ruvonne Kingdom found out that we were here, it could lead to an all out war.
“Did you find the Star’s traces, Lady Cecile?”
“I did. He is close by.”
“Then we should hurry. We don't have much time. The prophet of Ruvonne should also have noticed the mana fluctuations that the Star had caused. We need to find and escort him back before the Ruvonne’s Army finds out about us.”

I nodded as we started flying close to the ground. We had already wiped our traces but now, we had started using mana arts as we needed to hurry up. Hiding our traces was not an option. We needed to reach the Star before the Prophet of Ruvonne could.
If he finds the Star, it would lead to terrible circumstances. He had already created enough confusion by declaring that he was the Diviner of this generation. A fake. That is who he is.
“All of these circumstances are extremely strange, My lady. If you really are the True Diviner of this generation, why wasn't the Star born in the Kingdom of Ruhala, near you?”
‘If I'm the True Diviner?’ Well I guess it's very difficult for people to believe it. Every time a Star is born, the whole world knows of it. The worldly phenomena are so vast that even beasts living in the extreme badlands would get to see them. The star is always born near the Diviner of their generation. It is the Diviner's duty to teach, care for, and then serve the Star their entire life. That is our destiny. To prepare the Star for the peace of the world. After all, a Star is only born when there is a great evil that threatens humanity.
However, everything is strange this time. I was born as the Diviner in Ruhala Kingdom, but the star was born in Ruvonne. He was born as silently as a normal child. No one, apart from the prophets, know that the star even exists in this generation. And most of all, there is no great evil in the world at all!!!
Why would the Star be born in these times? And in these strange situations as well. I couldn't wrap my head around it. It feels like the heavens themselves are trying to hide him. Even I, the Diviner destined to serve him, only received the message from heavens twice.
“We will know all about these strange situations when we have escorted him to Ruhala.” I answered in an annoyed tone. I focused back on the path ahead just before feeling a sharp pain in my head. It felt like I was being beaten with a club on my head. As soon as the pain subsided a little, I opened my eyes to see the strange scene that I had encountered twice in my life.
The heavens were sending a message to me.
I looked around to see that as far as my eyes reached, I could only see white. I suddenly buckled as the mana around me whirred as if it was furious at me. I couldn't understand the situation. I had never had this kind of encounter before. It felt like the heavens were… scared of something.
I focused on the mana around me as I tried to interpret the message.
I opened my eyes after a few moments as I held my head in pain. I noticed the guards had surrounded me and were looking at me with worried expression.
“What happened, Lady Cecile?”
I tried to catch my breath before speaking out the words that shifted their expressions for the worse,
“The Star’s life is in danger!!”

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
