Seductive tactics
I had totally diverted my attention from the group, uncaring but still alert thanks to my sixth sense. To the general surprise, I seemed to be in a solitary concert, discussing wind and rain with an imaginary friend. From their point of view, I was making fun of their presence and Lewis did not find it to his liking.
“Has this kid gone mad or something?” Argos was looking at me inquisitively. “He doesn’t look the part though. Why am I always getting mixed up with such strange folks? Haa...sometimes I wish those pirates never came on our Island.” He groaned at the back of the band.
“Kid. What’s your name?” Lewis composed himself and asked me cordially.
“You won’t need to know where you’re going,” I replied nonchalantly.
“This fucking kid…!!! That’s it I’m going to butcher him.” He took a step forward but Lena scolded him harshly.
“Lewis be quiet now unless you want a piece of me!!” She said irritated.
I wouldn’t mind tho...The imbecile looked at her twin peaks and thought in silence. He retreated grudgingly and sat on the grass like a pouting child. He held his chin with one hand and took big gulps from his bottle with the other; it was almost as if the blockhead was immune to the poison.
That guy is completely pissed right now! He’s a bit childish still, which contrasts with his drunkard ways… I noticed a bit entertained by the situation. Anyway, let’s see how things go down at this point. I don't think the battle will be possible to avoid…
“Miss, I have done my part. I’ll take my leave here if you don't mind.” Argos said with a shy tone.
“Hum. Thanks for your work. You can leave now.” She said.

“Thank you.” He looked strangely at the young man installed on the ground, before leaving.
His silhouette vanished in the forest and now only the three of us were left into a staring contest.
“What’s your name kid?” The woman asked me with an appreciative smile, not letting out the feeling of talking with an enemy, but more to a friend.
“...Raoh.” I answered politely. I knew what her intentions were.
“Raoh, what a manly name.” She flattered.
“Hmph! That snotty brat is probably not even weaned yet...” The blonde man snorted in disdain.
The mature woman did not pay him any heed and linked up. “My name is Lena. An opportunity for a more friendly meeting between us was a bit jammed up, but I hope you don’t have any hard feelings because of the jackass here.” She pointed at him.
“#*}&$!!!” The guy cursed when he heard and saw this.
“I don't really care, if you guys are looking for a fight I can hold my own,” I said boldly.
Lewis wanted to get up but he stopped after she shot a look at him.
“Raoh...I’ll be honest with you.You probably figured but we’re the boss around these parts. I know you’re strong, but don’t get hot headed because you beat one of the twins. You’ve caught our interest and our boss would like to meet you…” Lena tried to rub me the right way.
“Boss as in Brent?” I asked mockingly.
“ Yes, my husband is our pirate crew captain. We’ve sailed on the Grand Line before with him and seen things you can’t even begin to conceptualize. I know people like you Raoh, this place will eventually become too small for you. We got experience, money, and numbers. You could live the good life with us...What do you say?” She was really good at setting the bait and reeling the fish inside the net. She used a few of her feminine appeals at the same time. Her nice figure was highlighted by a graceful shake of hair. Now she was dressing it into a ponytail node, both hands up in motion, leaving a cleavage that would make any man cry into full view.

The bloke from behind bit his lips when he saw this. I instantly understood that he was not any good material. If she was the captain’s woman, then this nitwit who was eyeing her was extremely audacious.
“If you guys have been on the Grand Line, why would you come here? In East blue of all places…”
“Good question. Not only are you strong, but you’re also astute. If you join you will come to find out what’s so peculiar about this place. That’s all I can say for now.” She smiled mesmerizingly, and I realized she was not bluffing at all. They were hiding something big…
"This is a top secret that even those two twins do not know about..." She looked at me with arms crossed over her provocative chest.
"How is that relevant?" I asked curiously.
" Hao could probably beat me three months ago..." She let out the meaning of something. I gawked because there was not the least bit of deceit on her face.
" Now even that chap over there could probably give him a bit of difficulty." She sneered as she turned.
"Hehe...Big sis is so harsh!! My poor heart is grieving in pain." He acted the part of a devastated and desperate lover.
Fucking womanizer, you got seven wives already and you're still trying to woo your sister in law... the beautiful plant thought in anger. I wonder if Brent never noticed or if he really doesn't care about me. He must be cheating on me...is he??! Oh god, If it's Bilika then my husband is definitely a p***!!
"So what do you say, Raoh? If you join I promise you this big sis is going to take good care of you in the future." In ten years this kid is going to be a total ten. I must claim him for myself before that little vixen does. hmph! A small giggle escaped as the nefarious thought crossed Lena's mind.
This woman is definitely sketchy! I was sure this time around.

The Spear and The Cross
The World of Marrh has been embroiled in a decades-long struggle between the eventually divided Zurul Horde and the ever-decaying Juman Empire. A war whose causes for carnage have long been forgotten. A half-orc and a human will eventually meet paths, their fates intertwined to save their dying world from their peoples' conflict and from an outsider's interference... Will they succeed, or will they succumb to failure? Only the Divine will truly know. NOTE: I upload chapters (about +2,500 words) on an irregular basis, so don't expect much from me. I write for fun only, and this book is an amateurish attempt at showcasing my world on The Spear and The Cross. If you still want to stick around, then go ahead. Maybe it'll be a fun ride. And also, a big thanks to my artist friend, Milkuii, for the wonderful cover art.
