《Godlike》Welcome to Forever pt:1

Welcome to Forever
Alex's return
"AAAAAHHHHHHHH. Fucking Zeus." I have been screaming at the heavens for about an hour and a half now and still haven't calmed down.
'Sigh, this isn't like you Alex. Think about all the different scenarios that could have happened to your character. You could have been seriously crippled with a curse, or loose every racial trait, or even lose your character as a whole. Let us consider this as a blessing and move along. Hmm, I should probably go online and look for ideas to improve my character.'
If quickly pull out my laptop and type in Google. 'Let's see is there any surefire way to make my character visibly stronger.' I thought to myself finally calming down. Well I already have melee and long ranged attacks in my arsenal, so I guess the next step would be too use mana to strengthen my character. Since I'm already very versatile I should be able to self teach myself the basics, but what exactly do I want to learn.
I spend the next half hour using searching up mana and its various uses. It seems that mana has no solid ground, there are millions of ways to use it and even separate energies that have attributes of mana. You can conjure elemental forces, or make a contract with a spirit or just shot mana out of your body and let it change based on the elements around it.
'With so many options, is there an easy way to find out what form of mana fits you? Ahh here it is, it seems that if you pick up the skill meditation then your mana will naturally flow the way it's supposed to and you will pick up skills to better control it. It seems like meditation is a rare skill it might take some time to acquire. Seems like ill have many things to experiment on when I get there.' I thought, planning my goals upon my arrival
'Yet another problem still arises, I have no idea how to get someone to listen to me, so to get them to worship me is not my area of expertise. I wonder how I will be able to increase my follower stat since this stat determines basically everything about my growth'
After another hour and a half wondering and getting nowhere I decide to give up and work it out as I play. The worse thing that can happen is that I don't get any followers right away and how to survive using creativity. "That's a challenge in itself, no wonder I was named God of Challenge" I mused silently chuckling at my own wit. "Yet the satisfaction of personally stepping on Zeus would be wasted, without higher goals."

"Well nothing's going to happen with me just thinking about it." I said as I lie down in my pod. The arrival to the human realm was, how can I describe this, new. Firstly it seems that Zeus's lightning bolt of death doubled as a high speed taxi. Secondly if not for the skill Iron Embodiment my cells would have been burnt/vaporized off my body in nano second, so no it wasn't a smooth ride. Lastly, and this is my favorite, it seems that our good-ol-God of the sky has a passion for dramatics. So instead of dropping me in a quiet, secluded, relatively safe place where I can get my bearings. He decides to drop my in a bustling city square surrounded by players and Npcs alike.
It seems like manners where tossed out the window as soon as I arrived in a array of sparks and bright yellow flames. I was currently the center of attention and could feel the stares of everyone in the plaza, some especially rude people where openly pointing or had their mouths ajar. 'That's another strike Zeus, when I get strong enough I'm kicking your ass double for this' I thought cursing the bastard who was probably sporting a superior sneer from his throne right about now.
It seems the crowd finally realized that I was a person, before all hell broke loose.
"Who is that?"
"Is this some kind of event."
"Look at his bow, he must be really high leveled."
"Doubt that, look he's still got on newbie gear. He's just some rich kid who bought an expensive bow with his daddy's money."
"Then how do you explain that teleportation skill, I was a beta tester and I never saw a skill like that."
"Well whatever lvl he is, he sure is hot"
'Sigh this is gonna be a very long day isn't it' I sighed inwardly. I quickly scanned the square searching for my destination, finally spotting it I sigh once more before starting to walk towards the library. 'If I'm going to be the center of attention I better disappear quickly.'
"Flit steps"
I materialized near the library door, and have to quickly hold onto the brass knob to hold myself steady. It seems that I had depleted a large supply of my mana by just activating the skill. It seems that Zeus was right without followers all my abilities are going to be limited. It seems that I'm going to have to move up obtain followers on my list of goals.

I physically shook, the torment of training under that Spartan only to be taken from me as soon as I need them. 'Well there's no use crying about it now.' tears threatening to escape as I recall my days of training. I walk towards the librarian to ask select questions to help me cope with my new environment.
"Excuse me but can I ask a few question, from one knowledge seeker to another" I ask politely.
"Certainly young man, it always brings joy to this old man when the next generation has a passion for discovery" A gray bearded old man cackled, with a tired smile "What would you like to know"
"Is there any room where I can study in peace" I asked
"Certainly, there one down the hall to the left. Anything else?" He asked me, expectantly.
'Well might as well get over this embarrassing scenario' "Yes one more thing do you happened to know more about where we are and the history of this world, I'm a traveler and everything's pretty new to me"
"Are you sure, you're not going to ask me for a book about ice bolts, or nature summons?" He asked amazed
"No, but it seems that my peers have left a bad impression." I said wryly
"Kukuku, you have no idea how correct you truly our young man. Still it's strange don't most travelers know at least the town they are brought to?" He asked confused
"Well...err, there were some unforeseen circumstances." I replied avoiding the subject
"Fine, everyone has their secrets. I'll be along with the books soon, you just get yourself acquainted with the room." He said, kindly showing me to a small reading room with an Ashburn oak desk and soft looking ataman.
"Thank you...um?"
"I am known as Dioletis, feel free to call me friend young knowledge seeker" he said, while turning to look for my books.
'Now then, let's get started. Online they say that I have to define mana in my own thoughts and then feel it, to master meditation. So, what is mana to me? I know for a fact it's not cliché, I can't just say mana is everything and everything is mana and be done with it. Its deeper than that just because everything has it doesn't mean that thing has the ability to use it. Mages must have high wisdom and intelligence to truly use their magic. So mana is a puzzle an ever changing, mystical phenomena that mages have mastered and magic is the solution. So I just have to imagine my body and a puzzle each artery an equation, each fiber a gear. To solve this I need to be in complete control of my mind and...learn. Suddenly a huge magic circle covers the room, and more spring up. Each astronomically different in what they do and what they are and yet, so very similar.
Congratulations you have unlocked a new tier in magic
You have been named the first Mageía Theama, and have been given the ability of true sight
For being the first to create their own branch of magic you have been awarded 1000 fame
"Wah!!" I exclaimed, never expecting myself in the history of this world to be the first to look at magic in such a way. Before I could celebrate a boy flew threw my window and crashed in the corner of the room.
"Uhh, that bitch. There's no way she can be considered human no matter how hot she is" The boy groaned
As he finally looked around and caught sight of me, his complaints turned a barrage of questions instead.
"Hey kid, can you hide me for a bit? Whoa look at all these magic circles, are you a mage by chance? Of course you are, only a high powered mage can pull of something like this? Name's Rex, what's yours Mr. mage? I'm impressed, you might actually be a challenge for me do you wanna fight? Whoa, dude why are your circles shrinking?"
My shrinking circles as he so eloquently put it where a result of him breaking my concentration.
"Ahh, I almost had it. I can't believe this idiot interrupted me?" I screamed visibly pissed
"...What did you just call me?" Rex asked menacingly
I noticed his hands change hue from a tan bronze to a blood red. At this point I was only sort of regretting my earlier words, but anger clouded my better judgment yet again. "You heard me, you dumbas..."
Before I could complete my sentence, Rex was upon me moving at lightning fast speed. Yet nowhere near Ares. I quickly sidestepped and summoned a kunai to block his fist.
The summoned kunai, bubbled and turned to ash in my hands. I raised an eyebrow, this could be bad. Before I could retaliate however a shadowy figure crashed into Rex, and unleashed a blood curdling screech.
"I found you, pervert!" it said in a demonic voice
"Shit, why do I always attract the crazies" Screamed Rex as he narrowly avoided the beast claw
'Why me' I groaned as i watched the events unfold, yep this is going to be a long day.
here's what i think Rex should look like
Uhhh more work on tables i hate it
Spoiler : I'm not sure if your interested, but go here if you wanna know what Rex looks like http://www.deviantart.com/art/Azcarhy-tradicional-522281896

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
