Trials: Discoveries
Whew it feels good to be back, I've got some people who are confused so let me just say this if its needed
" " Talking
' ' Thoughts
Just to be clear :)
Hestia Pov
I've thought about praying but who should I pray too, myself. The day of my son's trials have arrived and I am starting to regret my decision not to tell him what these trials really were.
'No, I have to believe in him. My little savior will not be defeated by something as small as this. The first trail has been defeated by most minor gods. I've seen him fight the god of war successfully, this should be simple for someone of his abilities. But then again, most of those minor gods had decades to prepare. Ahh, what should I do? What can I do?'
I escaped my rant as I watched Ares walk over.
"Hello aunt, even stressed you still radiate beauty" Ares said smoothly
"Enough of your flattery, tell me can my son pass these trials" I asked quickly
Ares smirked "Aunt you and I both know that only the fates can foretell that, but I can confidently say that if I had to pick someone capable then he would be my first choice."
That put me at ease, but I had no time to contemplate these thoughts before Zeus appeared in his usual white flash.
The room filled with Gods from across the world quieted immediately.
"Brethren, we have gathered here today to witness the trials of a new addition to our people. It has been determined that these trials will decide the fate of not only him but his mother as well. We all know the crime our sister Hestia has committed by upsetting the balance of power on Mount Olympus. We have decided that she may be forgiven if she gives up the boy to be erased, but instead she has offered us an alternative even going so far as to stake her life on it. He must complete every trial to be allowed to continue living as a god" He explained, suddenly there was a collective laugh from the minor gods.
I was about to fly into a rage, but Zeus beat me to it. Quickly releasing a small portion of his killing intent and quieting the room.
"Now I would like to ask again my dear sister, our other option still stands. You of all people should know that the only people to pass the fifth trial is the highest gods of our council. After passing the fifth trial yourself you should know of its difficulty."
"My decision remains unchanged, I have full confidence in my sons ability" I announce proudly.

"As you wish, if this is your stand I will not try and stop you. I could never win against your stubbornness anyway." Zeus said with a slight smile.
He then lifted his hands and rain clouds divulged into the room creating a perfect image of a empty room."Let the trials begin."
Cassius Pov
You have awakened
After I logged back in I was greeted with a change of scenery. It was an emerald covered room that would have been worth a fortune, but I dismissed it since I had never been someone to covert material things. I have grown so accustomed to the constant change in atmosphere I hardly noticed the room I woke up in.
What did catch my eye however was the eloquent writing scrawled across the wall over a large door. I approached it cautiously, now scanning the room closely as I approached the door.
When I reached the engraving I discovered it was a message from Ares with directions on my final part of training:
Greetings Brat,
Now that you have returned it is time for our final training exercise.
Welcome fresh meat Cassius, to the Dungeon of discovery
The dungeon was built eons ago by the god to find worthy successors to their legacy, blah ,blah, excreta, yada, yada, yada
To make a long story short it basically finds what exactly are your weaknesses and gives them a steroid boost,
HaHaHa I still remember the look on Apollo's face when he was inflicted with a poison he couldn't cure
Well anyway there will 5 floors exactly, Each changing to match your strength
Self, Will, Strong, Heart, and Challenge in that order
I will be located on the final floor if you can land even one hit on me then, Hell's Training will be officially completed
Each floor should be enough to crush the average God, so try to stay alive
Best of luck Ares.
'Sigh no matter how much he tries to convince me differently, I know that guy is a Masochist at heart.' I groan
Well might as well finish my training as quickly as possible. I scan the room and locate golden death and a pack of some sort. I grab my trusty bow and check the contents of the bag and find, that it is filled with my beginner equipment and utilities from the start of the game.
" This isn't going to last long, hopefully I can find some extra food on the way to the Challenge floor" I mused
Grabbing my possessions I turn to see the now opened door underneath the writing. I quickly make my way through it and begin my decent.

Self Trial:
I have been walking for miles on end and have already made it through half of my food. I am beginning to lose hope on reaching the first challenge that day, until I see a emerald door in the distance. Ecstatic to have finally reached my destination, I sprint towards the door.
When I arrive, I look up to see the same scrawling writing that I saw at the beginning of my decent:
Welcome to the Trial of Self
This trial will test your ability to better yourself. The masters who believes that they have nothing left to learn have already doomed themselves, to their eventual downfalls
-May the fates smile upon you
'Trials? Where have I heard that before? Oh well, I'll remember eventually' I thought as the doors slowly opened.
As I walked into the large room, I see a shadowy figure holding a bow. The minute I enter the room he immediately fires.
Training with Ares had already taught me how to be prepared for a surprise attack, however. The trick is to always pretend that the next move you make may be your last, this way my battle sense never deactivates. I'm nowhere near the level of perfection Ares has, but he has pointed out my talent in this particular skill.
I effortlessly sidestep.
"I'm guessing you're my opponent, am I to believe that defeating you would count as my victory"
The shadow doesn't answer just continues firing. I easily dodge by mere inches, and counter attack with an arrow of my own.
The shadow dodges my arrow and continues his assault. I easily block his incoming arrow with golden death. I flit to his right and materialize two kunai and throw in his direction. The shadow see the kunai coming though and jumps a clear twenty feet back to avoid them, before beginning his assault once more.
This continues for another twenty minutes, with both sides unable to injure the other.
'Huh this is getting aggravating, he's nowhere near Ares level in anything except dodging. Hmm, since this a trial about getting better might as well try something new.' I grinned, finally losing my patience.
I turn on my killing intent and feel the heat of room drop drastically. I can see the shadow take notice and clearly slow, struggling to keep his shaking hands on his bow. I wasn't done though, I start to picture an arrow that gives off the same feeling as my killing intent.
In my mind it is ghostly white and has an arrowhead sharp enough to cut the impossible. After creating it the best I can, in my mind I slowly materialize it while dodging the shadow's decreasing barrage of arrows.
Even though I'm supposed to be immune to my own killing intent just touching this arrow is enough to give me chills, I steadily aim. There was no need however, it seems that the shadow is frozen in fear, before firing I flash the same evil grin I have grown accustomed to seeing on Ares.
As I release I watch as the arrow flies with a deathly white trail following its arc. When it hits, to my surprise it clearly passes through the shadow and punctures the wall behind him before finally disintegrating into ash along with the shadow.
New Arrow:
Grim Bolt
Death has pledged his allegiance, and with it come its power. Drive fear into the very hearts of your enemy by piercing their very soul.
Depending on the will power of the castor will damage target without heed of any physical defense.
Unknown
Unknown
Number of arrows can be summoned a day:5
"Well when I thought cut the impossible I wasn't really expecting this results, but what's with the unknowns. Always so many unknowns." Alex sighed, "Well this challenge wasn't that difficult, I hope all of them could be this quick."
I searched the room until I found a new open door. I picked up a leisurely pace as I walked through the door happy to have finally relieved my boredom.
Ares Pov
HaHaHa, this boy is always good for a form of quick entertainment. The trial most gods take millennia preparing for, the same one that most gods agree is the hardest to complete since it requires them to change everything they have learned to pass. This boy passed it as then said that he wished all of the trials were this easy.
He looked around and spotted the surprised gazes from the select major gods he saw, and the array of agape mouths of minor gods who couldn't believe what they have just seen.
'It looks like they weren't prepared for someone like Cassius who is constantly evolving every time he fights.
What truly interest me is that new arrow he had created what an interesting way to manifest your killing intent. I'm glad I actually decided to raise him up, this brat is filled with so much potential

Until Death? (Refleshed Version)
Ever been a god? Well, I was! Until I died.... and got judged by the other gods! Apparently, they didn't like the whole "My Faith is the only true one!" idea. Oh, and for the record: The Apocalypse wasn't intentional, ok? In my defense, I want it to be known that my enemies threw the first stone and the whole 'Offer the other cheek' just isn't my thing. Seems like, for punishment, I get sent onto a vacation! Or so I hope? ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— Author's Comment: It's here, a rewrite? Yes! I would like to think that this version will have better grammar, better jokes, hopefully, everything better. Since it was my first work and started solely to improve my English, the grammar always caused me headaches when I looked at it. Well, and there are the plotholes which appeared with the whole multiverse thing that came with my other works... Let's just say that the first one was never written with the idea of turning it into a series. So let's get a shovel and fill-up the plot so that hapless readers won't fall into those pitch-black pits. They might break a knee! Or worse, vanish forever. And now the disclaimer everyone knows: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently, I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur)
