《Illusion/Core》Announcement 2

Hello everyone! I have two things I want to say.
1. I wanted to let everyone know my new penname, VyStarlit, has launched its first story today. It's a LitRPG called Wayfarer's Guild. I'll add a link in the author's comments for those who are interested. Some people were curious about it so I thought I would make an official announcement.
2. What's going to happen to Illusion/Core?
The short version is that Illusion/Core will be launching under the new pen name of VyStarlit but probably not for a long while
The long version:
Illusion/Core is a passion project of mine. I love the story and fully plan to continue it. Before I do I want to spend time making it a stronger, better story. The story is supposed to follow Raven as she grows into her power and several of the mysteries surround it and the post-apocalyptic world she lives in. When I started writing this story, I was in a tough time in my life and several personal things happened to cause me to take a hiatus. On top of this, when I felt like I would be able to at least start writing again the pandemic happen. I think we can all relate to how the pandemic has affected our lives.
In any case, I decided to focus on writing a different story while working on developing Illusion/Core. I have had a lot of times where I started writing and had to stop because the things happening in my life. So when I decided to launch VyStarlit, I wanted to make sure I had a story I felt I could write reliably with a backlog in case I have tough times. This is why I decided to write Wayfarer's Guild.
Why not Illusion/Core? The story has so many layers to it that it takes a lot more time to write and develop so instead of rushing the story and causing the quality to fall, I rather be patient and develop the story into something I'm proud of because Illusion/Core means a lot to me. In the end, that means that yes I will be continuing Illusion/Core and I will definitely put it on RR but it will be a while before I have enough backlog to release it since I want to make sure it is a quality fic. How long that will take? I'm not sure but when I do release it you will at least know that it won't fall into another hiatus.

I will be keeping this version of Illusion/Core up until the new launch is announced. So those who follow this story, I will make one last announcement on this account when the new version of Illusion/Core comes out but it won't be for a long while. Thank you all for reading Illusion/Core. It has given me so much joy to have you as my readers and I hope when Illusion/Core comes out once again you will find it is an even better story than you imagined.

Blood Island
So far, life had done Nuriel Cunningham no favors. The orphaned daughter of a petty thief, she's had to grow up on the streets, with nothing but her wits, her late father's advice, and whatever luck she can scrounge up to keep her alive. However, now that luck seems to have ran out. After being discovered passing as a boy on a ship sailing the Caribbean, Nuriel is blamed for the ship's troubles and thrown overboard, seemingly to her demise. But rather than die, she awakes on the shores of a strange and terrifying island, one inhabited by monsters from a bygone age. Now she has to use every bit of cunning and skill just to stay alive, as one false step could cause her to be torn apart for some ancient creature's dinner. But as she works to stay alive and uncover the island's secrets, she becomes aware of something very troubling. There is someone else on the island, someone not quite human, a creature with glowing red eyes watching her from the shadows. And though the creature seems benevolent, perhaps even friendly, Nuriel is not about to let her guard down. After all, every stranger is an enemy, and there is nothing more dangerous than the attention of another person.
8 161The Viadon Project: Extinction
In the year 2080, a group of fanatics believed that the world was going to end. In order to save the human race from extinction, a man named Damian Hunts created a time machine and travelled back in time to the Cretaceous Period alongside his fellow believers. They built a massive city on the continent of Laramidia, and named it Viadon. To keep their future generations from travelling back to a broken future, Damian and the Founding Families destroyed the time machine and created a their own version of history, completely leaving out the fact that they had time travelled, and that the Mass Extinction would happen thousands of years later. Two-thousand years later, the future generations of Viadon have no idea of their ancestors pasts, but things start to unravel quickly as Time Travelers come to warn them of impending doom. Vocabulary:Laramidia: was an island continent that existed during the Late Cretaceous period (99.6-66 Ma), when the Western Interior Seaway split the continent of North America in two. Disclaimer: I do not own the artwork used for the cover, all credit goes to it's original creator.
8 147Dawn of the Gods
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Dean was a newb to dive gear, but it didn't matter. He was playing in a party with his three best friends, all experienced players in dive games, and he'd figure it out as they went along. Eventually, he'd get good enough that they could beat the game. He just didn't expect the only way out was to beat the game. Or a rogue update that disabled the pain suppression settings, make it harder to level up, and reset his character stats every time he respawned. With an unstoppable Orc invasion led by a Shadow Wraith bearing down on their spawn point, they're only hope of survival is founding a new city, building a new spawn point, and defending it from the Orcs. All as a level one character. **************************************************************************************** As a note, I'm starting to edit earlier chapters, so some chapters will have a [Revised] tag attached, indicating that they're an edited version.
