Chapter 3 - The Endless Void is... Endless.
You have been slain by a Tutorial Hordeling Spawn (Copper I).
Would you like to revive? Y/N
The endless void stretched out... endlessly. Ugh, no... this is why I became an archaeologist, not a writer, Søren mused to himself as he contemplated the empty void around him after his second death. The pain had been indescribable. Even now, without an actual body, he could recall how it felt. The parting of flesh, crushed bones, and the blinding pain that followed a brief moment of disbelief weren't the worst parts of the experience. It was the chewing sounds that had bothered him the most. Knowing what it felt like, what it sounded like to be eaten alive was definitely not something that he had ever considered putting on a bucket list. Søren shook himself out of that macabre train of thought with the mental equivalent of a dog shedding water and instead imagined himself pacing back and forth in front of the glowing blue window floating in front of him. He often paced when thinking and figured it might help here as well.
Ok. Let's sort this out, Søren thought, mentally creating a checklist.
1. Somehow I'm stuck in an advanced VRcade full immersion pod.
2. I could be dead and there really is an afterlife. This is my interpretation of it.
3. Maybe not dead, maybe a coma? These are my dreams.
4. I've been kidnapped by aliens and shoved into a virtual simulation to discover the secrets of the human race.
5. I really am dying and being reborn / recreated. Certainly feels like it.
Søren's mental image of himself continued to pace in front of the floating blue window.
So, of the possibilities I've come up with... the first is most likely, but why me? Wrong place, wrong time? Regardless, I need to finish the Tutorial and get more information. There's not enough to go on right now. Søren laughed inside his head remembering jumping up and down on the table and squashing one of the bugs. As amusing as that was, it wasn't as effective as it needs to be. The electrical cable and stabbing the stunned hordeling works well for the first one. Perhaps I could flip the table over the other way hope one gets impaled by a leg. That still leaves the third to deal with. Hmmm. Fuck. Maybe jumping on the table is the best solution for the second one. It did leave the third one wounded too.

Søren tried to mentally close his eyes for a moment, but the floating blue window reminding him that he was dead and waiting to revive, continued to float in front of him. Augh, just get out of my face! he shouted mentally. To his surprise, the box went away. Oh, nice. Wait... shit. Shit shit shit come back! The window reappeared, still asking him if he wanted to revive. If that can be made to disappear and come back... Søren concentrated on the status window that had appeared in the top left corner as well as the chat box. Whether it was the program or simulation or his dreams, it obliged Søren's request and brought the two UI elements back into view.
This could be interesting. Søren turned towards the chat log, ignoring the copper icon and mostly empty status bars. The dark steel bar still had a tiny sliver of bright steel at the far left. With his attention completely devoted to the chat log, a second tab appeared with the title of Combat. I'll check that one out next. I'm more curious what information is included in the chat log first. He tried to reach out mentally with a mouse pointer and scrolled the chat back to the beginning. A mild version of the same pain he felt when trying to recall why he had been going to Iceland began to build up in his mind. With a mental grimace, Søren pushed through the pain and watched as the chat log rolled back to the beginning.

Søren > Fuck me, what happened?
Guide > Ah, you're awake. Welcome to Gateway traveler!
Guide > Your arrival was quite the catastrophic failure, but fortunately for you, the best nanites medtech could sell you were available to resurrect and restore what remained of your body and mind. Even more fortunate, you could afford them.
Søren > Who are you? Where are you?
Guide > I am your Guide and will assist with your integration into Gateway. Unfortunately due to extenuating circumstances, you will be unable to customize your stay with us. In the meantime, let us proceed with the Tutorial!
Guide > In just a few moments, an encounter with a hordeling will begin. Your performance will be assessed in order to determine suitable Paths from which you can choose upon completion of the Tutorial.
Søren stared at the chat log, his attention focused on the terminal status of the traveler and the diversion to an emergency resurrection vault.
What the fuck.
Impressive. The Traveler has begun to master the interface, an ability denied to the survivors after the Merge. We will monitor his progress with great interest.

I Think I Got Stuck In My Favourite RPG :TFALM
After another night of drunken partying by himself, Dale wakes up to find that he is his character Azurith from an old MMO RPG he was playing the other night. Trapped in a magical world where elves, dwarfs and demons exist, he decides to play along and start a guild. Accompanied by a band of beautiful ladies, the self pro-claimed Booty-demon azurith will vanquish evil monsters, rebuild cities from scratch and make his guild or as he calls it, his "harem" famous across the world, but first, he will have to deal with all the stereotypes that came with becoming a demon. Aggravated Defense (Progression LitRPG)
A quick TL;DR pitch. LitRPG Apocalypse with group progression, a non-overpowered mc, a limited skill-slot System where having a single skill over your opponent could make a big difference. A barrier mage mc who isn’t an Edgelord A sentient System that’s a character in its own right. And no harem or cheat skills. ~<>~<>~ Steven knew the world had ended when a great green and purple dome covered the city of Anchorage. Then things got weirder. First earthquakes, then bolts fell from the sky, changing and twisting the things they hit. Steven, stuck in the throes of apathy, had sought shelter out of boredom more than anything else. But when some fellow survivors are separated and trapped by a rampaging moose, an emotion breaks through his apathy. He can’t turn away. Some people say it’s everyone for themselves at the end of the world. Steven disagreed ~<>~<>~ Will update every Sunday and Tuesday at 9:00am, unless the chapter is beefy, then we'll just have one that week. For some more meta details about this story, it’s a LitRPG Apocalypse with a focus on abilities and how they are used over stats and numbers. It will have group progression, a non-overpowered protagonist, and a focus on unique and interesting classes. No overwhelming advantages for the main crew or broken cheat skills. No harem, some amount of gore, decent levels of profanity.

Childhood Sweethearts
#1 Teen Fiction | #1 Young Adult | #1 Romance "We all need someone to drive us mad." - The Wombats. He stared arrogantly down at me, a smirk plastered across his face. I sneered up at him with distaste, wanting to wrap my fingers around his neck and strangle that smirk off of him. He brushed my golden hair from my face, his long, slender fingers sparking electricity in my skin, making my knees wobble together."Will you ever, forgive me?" he whispered huskily, his eyes intently staring into mine. His face was only mere inches from me. I just needed to reach out a little further to kiss him..."Yeah. Over my dead body." I snapped, before throwing my arms out forcefully, shoving my hands into his chest, pushing him from me.-*-*-*-He, is Carter Williams. I, am Lacey Adams. We were once, inseparable. The 'Golden Couple'. The unbreakable best friends, that everybody envied. Nothing could get between us. A part from being tighter than white on rice, we updated our status from friends to being in a relationship, frequently. We were neighbours, which meant our families were all close and even co-owned houses around our town. This, all is, until the day of my sixteenth birthday. Everything changed. The loving relationship we shared, was severed and torn apart. I couldn't hardly stand to look at him any more, without spitting fire that is. Every day is torture being around him. He was in all my classes at school and the window in my room was even directly aligned with his.So, what happens? My mother's mum gets sick, so dad and her fly out. Just them. Leaving me to stay with Carter and his parents, who are never home. We would be alone. In one house. Under the same roof.If I was insane before, I have no idea what I am now.© 2016 by LaurenJ22.All rights reserved.

From God to goblin
A lone immortal is chased from heaven when heaven's court changes hands. Evading his enemies, he flees into one of the few places even gods will never enter, a rip in the fabric of space and time. with his body destroyed, his soul persists through the whole endeavor only to be reborn as..... something a little different.... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi everyone! As a first time writer, I'd love some constructive criticism as well as general comments about my work as a whole. This story is something I've been kind of thinking about for the better part of a few months and I actually got anxious enough to attempt to put it in writing. Releases may be sporadic as I'm currently in school, and chapter lengths will vary depending on how much I feel i need to write to get my point across. The tags are temporary and may change. I plan on using a cultivation/mana system as this will be somewhat of a crossover

Records of Zinc
Collection of short stories of the adventures of the eccentric Doctor Zinc, who is currently a guild member of the recently established Adventurer's Guild in the city of Nagrand. The short stories are quest reports and records detailing his exploits alone or with fellow guild members. This is also to help me keep track of what's what while I play the newly modified version of Adventurer's Guild game in NU Forums. The Adventurer's Guild of this world exists in a parallel universe and future timeline of the Adventurer's Guild that Khaos the Mask Maker is in. As I submit my quest reports on the NU Forums, here's a link to where I or my fellow party members submit the quest reports: https://forum.novelupdates.com/posts/4650600/If I am to further provide proof of ownership, I can also provide links to the quest reports.
