《Awakening of a Monster》Chapter 17 - New Ideas and Forms

Amon slowly opened his eyes to see the wooden flooring of his room. Confusion appeared in his eyes as he saw this and felt something like armor wrapped around his body.
Picking himself up, Amon heard cracks coming from whatever was on his body. Looking down at it, Amon saw that he was cocooned in layers of impurities and bad blood. Amon grimaced in disgust as he began ripping away at the layers.
Before long he was free of his cocoon and could see his upper body once again. His skin looked like it'd been purified and looked unblemished by anything a normal human would suffer from. Looking in the mirror, Amon admired his skin that looked like pure bronze metal sheets.
He looked at his eyes in the mirror, they looked bright red, like two pools of blood. The slit pupil gave them a wild, bestial feel as if they belonged to a giant dragon and not a 16-year-old boy.
Amon took his lower clothing off and got in the shower to get the rest of the cocoon off.
After a long, thorough shower Amon finally felt clean again. He saw that he'd grown a few inches putting his height up to 7"2 making him even more giant than before.
Amon stroked the horn on his forehead. It was looking more and more like a piece of divine metal everytime he broke through a Gate. His instincts kept telling him that a Demon's horn is his pride, so Amon made sure to look after it and make sure it doesn't get dirty. Sort of like a person who looks after their nails to stop them from chipping and being dirty.
Amon looked at the electrical calendar in his room and was shocked to know that he'd been unconscious for about a day.
'A full day?! The changes must have been pretty big then...'
Amon clenched his fist, feeling the supreme power coursing through his body. But even more than that, he felt the energy coursing through his body as well, like he could run a few marathons as a warm-up exercise.
Amon knew he had to get used to the changes in his body before the joint training, so he put some training shorts on and jumped out his window and ran to the training course. He jumped out his window because he didn't want to explain to the others why he'd been locked up in his room for a day; he was simply being lazy.
When Amon arrived at the training ground, he walked up to the dummy and started practicing the training stance for the Behemoth Art.

Every movement of Amon's made the ground shake as if in fear of his power, each punch caused the air to blow about as if it was anxious Amon would destroy it. All of Amon's blow was full of power and looked incredibly vigorous.
'I can do better now...'
Amon's attack speed was increasing, getting faster and faster and more deadly as time went by. Not only did the speed increase, but the power in each blow also increased dramatically as well.
If anyone who was well-versed in martial arts saw him, they wouldn't be scared of his power or his speed but the fact that every one of his blows was a killing blow. Each punch, kick, and tail whip was aimed at a place where it would easily kill a human. His precision and efficiency were extremely terrifying.
After a few hours of training, Amon had a decent read on his current limits and power.
Amon sat down on the floor and closed his eyes, he was about to meditate on how to add his Gravity and Density Control to his fighting style.
He had a rough idea on how to do it; Make himself heavier and denser so he can't be moved, much like a true Behemoth. But he wanted more versatility because as much as he hated to admit it, not everything can be solved with Brute Strength.
After thinking for a while, Amon had an idea. He wanted to hit himself for being so stupid but he soon shrugged it off as he put his head down to get on with his idea.
He stood up and got into a sprinting starting position before he ran as fast as he could towards the other end of the training ground.
He shot off with a small boom and each of his steps afterward caused the ground to crack and shake. He was quite quick and graceful despite his imposing stature but he was still much slower than Michael; not that Amon cared, he knew he wouldn't be as quick as that guy.
Amon ran to the other side in no time. His explosive speed was only second to Michael, so he didn't need to worry about that. It was his agility he was worried about.
He couldn't turn very quickly because of his momentum due to his big stature and heavyweight.
But Amon had a counter to this.
Amon did the run again but this time he used his Gravity Magic. But instead of making himself heavier, he made himself lighter and made a gravity ball in front of him to pull him along.

So this time when he shot off, while there was the initial boom of his strength cracking the stone at his feet there were no consecutive cracks caused by his feet after that. Mainly because he was much lighter, the same amount of strength pushed him off the ground much further.
So Amon was noticeably faster than before and when he went to turn, he just summoned a gravity ball on that side so it would pull him in that direction, making it easier for him to direct his momentum that way.
He stopped running about the place and made a mental note to continue improving on that form.
He sat down by the dummy again and took the Behemoth Art out, Amon wanted to see the Stances after the training stance because he wanted to train them in the joint training. He smiled when he thought about the arrogant classers he would crush with his Martial Art.
Opening the book and skipping past the pages on the training stance, Amon saw two pages with each of the next forms and stances on them.
The two forms were called [Blood] and [Iron]. [Blood] was a form that focused on swiftness, it was made to cover for the Behemoth's slow speed. Amon felt that this was too much of a coincidence. Hadn't he just figured out a way to overcome his bad agility? If he could mix both of the stance and his Gravity Movement together, wouldn't it be a massive improvement to his movement ability?
The [Iron] Form was made to further enhance the advantages all Elite Behemoth Warriors had; Incredibly Durability and Immense Brute Strength. Amon envisioned what would happen if he mixed his incredibly dense and heavy form with this stance, wouldn't he be some kind of unstoppable juggernaut?
After reading through the pages, Amon discovered that these forms and their stances were made to temper the body to overcome its limits and weaknesses. But all the same, they could be used in combat as well.
Amon did a few practice runs in both the forms and felt like his body was about to fall apart from the pain of the stances pushing his body to its limits.
After sitting and using his immense recovery ability to recover from the fatigue, Amon walked back to the house figuring that he didn't have any more time to train and should rest for the rest of the day and the next one so he was in his most optimal condition. He'd already become much more powerful with his breakthrough in his Demonic Cultivation and with his new access to the new forms of the Behemoth Art.
Amon walked back to the house with a rare smile on his face.
1 day later, POV Change - Jax
Congratulations! You've leveled up to lv21!
Jax collapsed to the floor from exhaustion.
He'd just broke through to a higher level bracket and it took a lot of energy from him but in return, he felt his body get much stronger, his technique more polished and his mana reserves more robust.
"Well done Jax, as I thought, you heroes really are something else." The old wizened teacher from before, Mr. Karl, had been watching over Jax's fight with pleased eyes. The old man had a lot of faith in Jax's ability to shine brightly in the joint training program.
"Sir, what...what is the translation of my power into the stages that Bloodline Warriors use?" Jax's question surprised the man because he thought the boy was completely exhausted but after a while, he answered with a smile.
"Well, Jax, it's quite simple actually. You, as a Hero Classer, could compare to an S rank Bloodline Warrior, in strength, in the same stage but with your technique and skills you'd be able to go up against an SS rank Bloodline Warrior in the same stage as you." the wizened man took a few breaths of the fresh air before he carried on "Levels 0-10 aren't even in a Stage yet. But Levels 11-20 are equivalent to Stage 1, 21-30 are equivalent to Stage 2, etc etc. If you were to categorize like the Bloodline Warriors, you'd be slightly under SS rank Bloodline Warriors but never mind that. It's simply the ranking system of simple-minded beasts."
The old man waved his hand as if dismissing the thought that a Bloodline Warrior could be better than his Students.
Jax looked slightly uncomfortable at how Karl spoke about Bloodline Warriors; his best friend was a Bloodline Warrior. But Karl who saw this shrugged it off as Jax still feeling tired from his level breakthrough and fight.
Jax slowly stood up, using his spear as an impromptu walking stick and started walking with the Old man back to the academy. They had a big day tomorrow.

8 86The Puppy Project
"Give me my puppy!" I demanded, my eyes ablazed with fiery anger."Correction, it's not your puppy. It's our puppy," He smiled, but it was anything but sweet nor happy."You know what? Damn you! You're nothing but a cold, emotionless, and heartless bad boy!" I sneered, glaring at him fiercely. He chuckled at my words, taking a step closer to me. He slammed his hand unto the wall, trapping me, before leaning in close. "You got that right sweetheart but I think you got one thing wrong." He said, his eyes piercing straight into mine."And what is that?" I managed to asked, my throat seeming to get drier the more he looked at me."I'm neither one of those when I'm with you," and with those words, slammed his lips into mine.#1 in Strong-Female Character - 1/29/21#1 in Sarcasm - 2/4/21#2 in BadBoy - 2/13/21#3 in Teen Fiction - 2/13/21#1 in Mysterious - 3/4/21Copyrighted 2017.
