《Awakening of a Monster》Chapter 14 - Training

Amon walked for a while before he arrived at the Training Grounds, it was just a basic field with a few dummies here and there but they each gave off a metallic sheen and seem indestructible.

Amon walked up to one of the Dummies, looking about for Michael and Fae wondering where they were but soon shrugged figuring they were their own people, he didn't need to know where they were at all times.

He sat down and opened the [Royal Demon Martial Arts] and looked through the pages. The book was quite thick but that was only because there were so many different kinds of Demons who were in the Royal Family. Amon had to instead look for the Demon he shared the most traits with and then practice their martial art.

The main characteristics Amon was looking for were Arrogance, Battle Crazed, High Brute Strength, Tail, Claws, and Single Horn. After looking through multiple pages he finally found one that suited him, it was from a Demon race by the name of Behemoths.

They were titans of the battlefield, using their incredible brute strength and high durability to crush their opponents, they also had a bladed tail which would help Amon bring his own tail into combat.

The more Amon read about the Behemoths the more he realized that that's what he must be but he was confused as he knew he had the bloodline of Abaddon. It didn't take long before he realized that the Behemoths must have also had Abaddon's Bloodline. Amon stood up and got into the Behemoth's Combat Stance.

The stance seemed quite simple but if someone well-versed in martial arts and killing were to look at it, they would see the brutal efficiency of the stance. Every opening, if there were any, could easily be covered by the stances range.

Standing in the stance, Amon realized that he wouldn't have to worry about someone stealing his newly-acquired martial art because you needed to have a very big body to fully pull off the movements in it. If a person below the height of 6"9 even tried to stand in the way the stance was made to, they'd most likely dislocate their joints from the extensive movements they'd have to do. Amon couldn't quite understand why this was but guessed it was to keep the martial art in the Behemoth race.

Amon threw out a simple punch like the book showed and watched as his fist flew like a rolling boulder into the dummy causing it to shack viciously back and forth with a slight fist indent on it.

Amon cast an annoyed glance at the fact he didn't crush to dummy but he soon snuffed that annoyance as he felt relief; relief at having a dummy that could take his training punches.

The training stance for the art was to instill the values of a Behemoth into the practitioner before taking it onto the more advanced stances. These values were as such: Brutality, Ruthlessness, and Efficiency.

Amon continued training and instilling his fighting style with these values. But Amon didn't just do that, he carved the values into his very body. Every punch caused his muscles and bones to ache and Amon used this ache to baptize his body, tempering it like impure metal in a forge.

As he seemed to be suited to this Martial Art, Amon made a lot of progress over a short amount of time but he didn't let it get to his head, well, too much anyway. It was only a training stance, so in the end, it wouldn't be too hard anyway.

Amon's punches and kicks, tails whips and elbow blows were smoothly melding together like a deadly storm, gaining more and more combat power with every drop of sweat and effort Amon shed. A slight aura started to be cultivated around him, it was a brutal aura, like a bloodbath waiting to happen. A red mist seemed to slowly move around Amon giving off a bloody smell, but along with that, a more metallic smell sprang up as if he'd just came from a battlefield.

Right now, Amon was being forged into a warrior. A very deadly warrior, indeed.

POV Change - Jax

Jax thrust his spear repeatedly into the monster in front of him. The monster looked like a German Shepard, the only differences being it was 6ft tall, had blood red eyes and had a maw full of blood and human flesh.

Jax was currently out on an experience gaining trip with his 'Hero' Group.

If Amon were to see Jax now, he'd be surprised. The usually relaxed and carefree youth was nowhere to be seen, in his place was a serious-faced boy, with no signs of a smile on his face at all.

The thing that would surprise Amon the most would be the fact that Jax wasn't smiling. Jax always smiled, bar incredibly serious matters like the one involving Molly's father, and he always seemed to make it his job to be the group joker, always making people laugh or at least trying to anyway.

But right now, he had a grim expression on and had incredibly cold eyes.

He'd been training relentlessly to get stronger than he was when the agents came for him.

Before they took them in, he, Molly and Amon's mom, Beth, all denied their invitations to the training course because they simply wanted to stay with Amon and Lilith. But this denial wasn't returned with the most understanding of attitudes.

Instead, the agents threatened and blackmailed all three of them with the promise that if they didn't come along to the training camp, they'd kill Amon and Lilith purely because, in their words, they were 'Filthy Nonhumans' now. This threat instantly got Beth on board, as a mother she wouldn't let any harm come to her child if she could help it.

Jax and Molly also agreed after this; they didn't want their stubbornness to get their best friends killed.

Jax felt a spurt of anger at what happened that day and activated a skill. His spear went red like hot metal and spurted flams from the tip as he thrust it forward into the dog-beasts eye and into its brain, killing it.

Congratulations! You've reached level 11!

Jax felt a rush of heat go through his body. This feeling was something he'd experienced a lot recently; leveling up. It was one of the perks of having a class. After killing a monster, he would gain exp and it would contribute to his exp bar and eventually he would level up where his body would get stronger and his mana reserves would get bigger. Each level would dramatically increase his power as well, so he was one step closer to his dream.

His dream being, getting back to his two best friends and away from the clutches of the company he was currently in.

As Jax wiped his spear on the monster's fur to get rid of the blood, he looked at the blue sky above him and couldn't help but think that he'd left his friendship with Amon on a bit of a bad note.

After Amon killed those 3 orcs who broke into his house, Jax, like any other person would, felt a bit scared of Amon and didn't speak to him much but after he himself saw how the world was he couldn't help but think about it in a different way.

Amon just did what needed to be done, those Orcs would've killed him and Amon and then raped the three women if Amon hadn't stopped them. And from what Jax had read, Bloodline Warriors had incredibly strong instincts which caused their actions to be slightly, well, inhuman in nature.

Just like how those Orcs wanted to have sex with women, an overpowering instinct for lower class Orcs, Amon's instincts most likely told him to kill the attacking Orcs and before he knew it, he'd killed them.

This was the conclusion Jax had come to through his research and although he could be wrong, Jax still had hope for his best friend.

Jax turned towards Molly who was dressed in light leather armor and Beth who was in a Mage Robe, he shook off his thoughts about Amon as he had things to protect in the now rather than think about what he's going to do with Amon in the future.
