《Awakening of a Monster》Chapter 4 - Breakthrough into Demonic/Draconic Cultivation

All three of them got into a limousine filled with plenty of stuff to pass the time of the long ride to the camp.
Amon ducked his head and crossed his legs, figuring that he might as well meditate for the ride. Amon started breathing like some sort of ancient beast as he started running the technique, all the magic energy around them started to flow into Amon's nostrils and mouth furiously.
Sasha was shocked as she looked at Amon, his breathing was utterly terrifying, sending her instincts into overdrive and causing her to tense up like she was under attack. The leftover energy that couldn't get into his nose made faint rune flow and rotate around his body, mainly red and black runes with a few runes that looked like a mixture between the others.
Each rotation of a rune brought more energy to Amon's nose and mouth, while also giving out a more and more powerful aura of extreme power.
Inside Amon, all the energy was traveling to the bottom of his spine gathering into a small, dense ball of black and red energy. This was the first part of the [Eight Demonic Gates Breathing Technique] which was to open the first gate, The Gate of the Demon.
It gave the ability of Enhanced Muscle Usage, seeing though as even with his martial arts background, Amon still couldn't use all his strength, only about 60%. If he awakened the first Gate, he would gain the ability to use 100% of his power and even beyond that as long as his body could handle it.
Amon controlled the ball of energy to into surrounding the lower part of his spine and after he steeled his resolve and preparing himself, he pushed the concentrated Energy into his spine.
As soon as the energy started pushing on his spine, he jolted from the pain but made sure to not make any noise or show his pain, he had his pride to consider after all.
Inside his spine, unlike a human there was a small red and black crystal, this was a Gate, once it was broken it would give out amazing amounts of energy which would then change his body to give him abilities or boosted attributes.
Amon had been doing this for 2 weeks straight and he'd already gathered quite a lot of energy in his lower spine, the energy he just added was the icing on the cake and now he was finally confident that he could open the gate.

He started to gather the other bits of energy in his spine and started to grind the small pearl-like gate to pieces.
Outside of his body, from the other two's perspectives, the energy around Amon started to go a bit chaotic as his body started to give off an aura of a Demon King, full of power and vigor. Sasha looked at him with fear, like he was some kind of giant beast, while Lilith looked at him with lust and pride.
The runes around Amon started to slowly seep into his body in preparation for something.
The small pearl in his lower spine had many minute cracks in it and Amon couldn't help but feel that it was much too easy to break the Gate. If any Demons in the Galactic Empire heard him say that, they'd throw up blood at his nonchalant arrogance.
All the runes that were once outside his body were coating everything in his body, like a blanket tightly wrapped around a person. The Gate finally cracked and broke apart, and Amon fully activated the energy like some kind of grinder and completely crushed the Gate to dust.
In place of the Gate, a ball of inexhaustible energy was in its place and the energy ball constantly kept spewing energy out into Amon's body. The first wave swept over Amon's body, improving the muscles, bones, tendons, and ligaments so that they could work in perfect sync and fully unleash their full potential.
Then, against Amon's expectations, a second wave of energy spread out from the core of energy.
'I thought there was only supposed to be one wave of energy?... Wait. Does the modified version include something for my Dragon part...!?'
His thought process was interrupted by the second wave of energy washing his body of all impurities, like a furious fire as the energy burnt any impurity it found. But surprisingly that wasn't all it did, it seemed to enhance the vitality held in each little cell of everything in Amon's body, boosting his already monumental vigor into even more unfathomable heights.
Power radiated off of Amon as a look of bestial arrogance slipped onto his face with a prideful smirk with it as well.
His eyes opened and showed the boundless confidence and momentum he held. With his bronze skin, red hair and eyes and along with his horn, he really did seem like some kind of imperious and powerful Demon Prince.
Looking at the time on his phone, he was shocked to see that it had taken him an hour to break through; it had only felt like a few minutes to Amon.

"H-Hohoho, such good timing. We've arrived." Sasha spoke out. Amon didn't miss the tinge of fear in her voice as she spoke, which further fed his new Demonic ego. As Amon was getting out of the car, he stopped moving in shock.
He felt an odd new-found balance. As he was investigating this new find, he realized what birthed the new feeling.
"Oh? Do you have a tail? Why'd you keep it hidden?" Sasha asked a question, which Amon ignored as he looked at the tail that had to pierce through his jeans.
It was black, had a slender design with a forked tail-ending which looked quite sharp like it could easily tear a man in half. Despite it looking slender, it was well muscled and wouldn't lose out to his arms in strength or durability, he didn't feel a lack of control either which Amon knew was the newly opened Gate's ability for the Demon half; Enhanced Muscle Usage also contained Superior Control of the body.
'This will help in fights. Good.'
Oddly, Amon felt like he was finally back to normal now he had a tail. For the past few days he had felt like he was missing something but now he felt whole again.
Shrugging his shoulders Amon's face lost it's curious look for a more apathetic one as he exited the limousine. Waiting for them was a man with black wings, who looked at Amon with interest in his eyes.
"Hello, you must be Amon. I'm Nox, if you'd like to follow me, I'm going to give you a tour of the base." He had a mild voice and seemed quite humble, but the slight arrogance in his eyes didn't escape Amon's keen eyes.
After saying goodbye to Lilith and telling her to call him if she had any problems, he followed Nox for the tour.
Long story short, Amon now knew where the Cafeteria, Library, Dorms, and Training Grounds were now. Right now Amon was sitting on his bed reading one of the many books he'd picked up from the library because he needed to know more about himself as a Demon and a Dragon.
Sadly the information seemed to be pretty limited to him right now but he was assured by Nox that he'll be told in due time. So he was mainly reading to pass the time and he was still learning some things he hadn't found out by learning from his own body.
After putting the book down, he started stabilizing the Gate by pouring some more energy into it because he'd just recently broken through his Gate's foundation may be weak and need some strengthening.
The stabilization took a few hours of pouring energy into it but it was better to fix it now than lament over it later. Plus something just wouldn't let Amon stay imperfect, for some reason everything he did had to be perfect. It mainly applied to his cultivation but that alone was still annoying.
As he opened his eyes, he glanced across the room at his other 7 dorm roommates he was going to live with. All of them gave off strong aura's, although they were shadowed by Amon's own it still proved they were strong enough to have earned Amon's slight respect. Only one person seemed to be on par with Amon.
He had white hair, yellow eyes and pale white skin with some tiger striped on the sides of his face.
He wasn't that tall at around 5"8, but his body was well-built although a bit slender when compared to someone of Amon's size and musculature. Both of them locked eyes and shared a respectful nod, somewhat acknowledging the other.
Both of them could feel what the other was, Amon could feel that the white-haired kid was an Angel/Tiger Hybrid and the other guy could feel that Amon was a Demon/Dragon Hybrid.
The white-haired kid seemed to go back to cultivating after that.
Amon gave a little smile at the fact he could feel that he'd be able to have a good fight with the white-haired kid. Everyone in the dorm felt that Amon's small smile was incredibly feral looking and seemed to come from a predator looking at its prey, giving promises of violence and ruthlessness.
Suddenly, Amon's phone went off. Taking it out and looking at who was phoning him, he saw it was Lilith and suddenly he had a bad feeling. He answered the phone and instantly rushed out of the dorm with grace and speed that belied his size.
Someone had pissed off a Demon they should never have even thought of annoying.

Void Breaker
Note: Sadly, this story is currently on hiatus :( Elizabeth Sayler had lost everything in the bombing of Reaver Stadium. Her career, her fame, her power — all of it vanished the moment she lost use of her legs. Now, she's beginning to lose hope of ever healing herself… until her world integrates into the Void. When the apocalypse comes in a flurry of System messages, everyone on earth is given a choice: give up what they value most in themselves, and acquire a path to their heart’s greatest desire. Most would hesitate, but for Liz? She has nothing to lose, and absolutely everything to gain. Armed with newfound powers in a world teeming with monsters, she’s determined to not only survive, but to somehow break the Void’s endless assault. * * * This is a small note about the portrayal of disability in this story. As much research as I do and as many people as I ask, I will in the end only be able to understand a small portion of paraplegia and similar disabilities. Therefore, if there is anything particularly disrespectful, please do not hesitate to contact me. I always intended to portray disability in a respectful way in this story, but please know that Liz as a character does not start out with a healthy view of disability. This is intentional, and a large part of her character development comes from this view changing as she learns. Disability is not something she simply "discards" at the beginning of the story, but an ongoing theme and a part of her journey.
