Calm before the storm? (Part 2)

Pat Cooley’s POV:

I went deep into the Herbal Garden to get my hands on some good herbs because then I could ask the alchemists, who serve me to concoct pills for me and my tribe. I’ve been at this realm for fifty years already and I’m very close to ascending. Considering that advancing through this realm takes at least a hundred years even for geniuses, I can be considered very talented. But in truth, it’s natural since I’m a two-star divine beast.

While we were coming back towards the surface, I saw something intriguing. I came upon a group of people, consisting of three members, who were fighting with a monster, which was two stages above them! Not even I could do something like that! Even if they were three, it was still a miracle. My entourage soon caught up, but all they saw was the drop, which appeared after they killed the monster. Upon seeing what it was, I saw greed in some of their eyes. It would be very good even for me… They are truly talented and I can’t help but respect that!

I went close to them and they weren’t able to sense me. Of course, this isn’t surprising since I am at the ninth stage, while they are only at the third stage. Upon noticing me, their faces turned into a surprised and startled one for a moment, but interestingly enough, they weren’t scared of me. Even though I’ve completely released my aura at the peak of ninth stage.

People at their levels should feel greatly pressured. Even my entourage, which caught up to me visibly felt pressured, yet these three were completely calm and unbothered. But one of them was a human… Considering how she came here without any problems and how calm she is, I’m quite sure that she is the descendant of someone from a higher realm.

What was even more intriguing is that those two had an aura similar to mine, not in strength, but quality. Truth be told, I sadly had to admit, that theirs felt even clearer and better than mine. Did I feel inferior while standing next to them? ME?! That’s what I call ridiculous! But unfortunately, that was true. Could they be…? True Divine Beasts? Two at that? At the same place? Such rare creatures?

When I thought of this I didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. That couldn’t be, could it? But three-star divine beasts shouldn’t have so much better auras. My idiot entourage threw lustful looks towards the blonde bombshell. Even their looks were better than mine. I want to cry! I should leave before I find more points to feel inferior at… I felt slightly annoyed by this and what annoyed me, even more, were these idiot beastmen! If they were really True Divine Beasts, then they could cause much trouble for me in the future.

I could kill them at the moment, indeed. But why would I be such an idiot? I would rather be friendly with them for future benefits. The girl was a real beauty, but in my opinion, the male was really… *shaaa* hot! I’m a tigress. Fufu~ I like muscular guys and his face is also handsome for my taste.

W-What’s this? I thought as I looked around, looking for the cause of this terrible feeling in my chest. When I looked at the guy with desiring eyes, I felt a terrible chill running through my back and after looking for its origin, it turned out that its cause was the blonde haired girl!

The girl looked at me as she asked.

“What might we call you?” She said with a smile, but her body said it otherwise. She was releasing a strong killing intent and bloodlust. I fear that if we were to be at the same level, then I’d be shivering in my boots because of it.

“Pat Cooley,” I answered them as I crossed my arms in front of my body. Their faces turned into surprised ones, along with the human girl's face.

The blonde beauty started mumbling something - “The first one with big tits. You better not try stealing my mate or you are going to pay...” - She kept on with her mumbling and thanks to her wind magic, I was barely able to hear anything. I felt truly surprised after hearing her words and I was left with my mouth opened widely.

“T- That’s all you have to say after I introduce myself?” I asked while my mouth and eyes were twitching. I’m trying to be nice here!

“HAHAHA~” The guy laughed out loudly, which startled all of us. He the girl and gave her a kiss. After doing so, he was looking into my eyes while saying - “Sorry but we are possessive of each other, so take no offense because of what she said. Anyway, my name is Hiro and she is my mate Alice and she is our friend Ellery,” He said while pointing at the two girls after himself, consecutively.

“But she was looking at you with lustful eyes! Did she thought that I wouldn’t notice it?” She said while looking at Hiro. My mouth was left opened widely once again.

“W- What? I- I didn’t do anything like that okay!?” I tried defending myself, but after looking around, I saw that everyone was looking at me with unbelieving eyes and even Hiro turned to the side with a face, which said it all. He probably barely could hold back his laugh. I felt truly embarrassed. This was the first time! I shouldn’t meet with these people ever again.

I wasn’t an idiot. Half of my entourage was with me, only wishing for me to spread my legs for them. But I wouldn’t do such a thing with these lowly beastmen. One of my ‘faithful’ soldiers, who was usually staring at my ass came to my defense. He probably felt envious of Hiro, but what Alice said wasn’t even true… or so I’d like to say. I’m terrible! But he would be worthy of me...

“How dare you say something like that? Do you know who are you talking to?” Fred, the ratman, questioned them with an enraged and righteous face. Tch… he was one of the most annoying pests. I can understand why most of the divine beasts don’t care about things like ruling over other species. Being together with these idiots is such a bother. Once I ascend, I’ll be sure to stay away from such groups.

“GOD! What a cliche line! Where did you hear this shit from?” Hiro exclaimed as he raised his hands to cover his face. Grrr~ Nice muscles and he doesn’t fear this shitty guy, even though he is three stages below.

“You damned brat-” Fred was getting angry and he was about to attack, but I felt very much annoyed by him, so I simply spun on my left leg and kicked him in the face. He flew through the air and landed on the ground with a loud thud. He lost his consciousness. I nodded once and then turned around to ask - “Anyone else who wishes to move without my command?” All of them stepped back one and made fearful faces while shaking their heads sideways. Now, that’s much better!

“Could we talk in private? You surely understand my meaning as a divine beast,” She emphasized the last words and I understood what she meant.

“You lot, go somewhere else, now!” I exclaimed and all of them quickly rushed back into the resting room, without looking back. In my monster form, I could crush them anytime!

“So? What do you want, you tigress?” Alice questioned me with her head tilted to the side with her brows furrowed.

“You aren’t too friendly…” I remarked with a small grunt while pulling on my mouth.

“Would you be friendly if I were to check out your mate at the first sight?” She questioned me while leaning forward.

“Uhm. I think that I wouldn’t be, but I wasn’t-” She looked at me with unbelieving eyes, so I admitted my mistake - ”alright I was. I’m sorry. I’m in a heated time of the season…” I said as I turned my head to the side.

Alice raised her brows as she said - “Lies. You were simply lusting for my mate, but whatever... Apology accepted. Now could you take out your tail and ears?” She asked me to do such a ridiculous thing.

I raised my brows while asking her about her reasons - “Why should I?”

“Because I want to pet it!” She exclaimed loudly, which caused me to get startled for a moment.

“W- What the fuck are you talking about? You were angry at me a moment before, yet now you are trying to pet my tail and ears? Are you stupid?” I couldn’t hold it back any longer and shouted at her.

“See? I told you that she won’t let you do it,” Hiro suddenly started talking out of nowhere while looking at Alice.

“You told her? But you didn’t even say a word-” I started, but I soon realized a possibility and that would also explain their possessive nature.”-wait, are you soul bounded?” I asked in my curiosity, wishing to find out the truth.

“Yes,” Hiro answered with a happy smile on his face.

“Well, that’s quite interesting...“ I remarked with a similar smile.

“Let’s get to the point. What do you want from us?” Alice questioned Pat, having enough of this stupid chatting. Pat seemed like a nice person, and although it probably wasn’t exactly true, but at least she wouldn’t attack us.

“Do you want me to be honest?” She questioned with her brows raised and after we nodded, she continued. “Well… considering that you are so powerful at your own stages and that your aura is so clear, I’m quite sure that you are True Divine Beasts. Now the thing is that I saw that the boss you killed, dropped a Six Leaved Mantra Ginseng. Uhm… I don’t want to take it away, but if you need a pharmacist to turn them into pills, then feel free to come with me-”

She said while looking to the side. There wasn’t greed in her eyes because she probably didn’t care that much, but she at least tried gaining a little benefit. There was nothing wrong with that. Everyone was greedy, it was needless to cry over such things.

“No, thanks. We can do it ourselves,” Alice cut in her words, stopping her from wasting her breath. Pat made a helpless face and then after a shrug of her shoulders, she looked at us, asking - “So you learned pharmacology. That’s quite a good thing. Did you make the armor too?”

“Yes. I’m the one making the armors, while Alice is responsible for concocting,” I answered quickly, feeling the need to finally leave.

“Do you take orders for armors too?” She asked with her brows raised, slightly leaning forward in her curiosity.

[Stupid titty-saur. Her boobs keep jiggling in front of us! Does she want to seduce you or what? *Grr*] Alice continued her ridiculous behavior, which caused a smile to slip onto my face. I almost laughed, but I was able to hold it back.

“I haven’t done it before, but I can try it out,” I said while looking to the side, fearing that I would laugh after seeing her.

“Great! Then I’m inviting you guys to our headquarters on Droner. Feel free to come anytime!” She said enthusiastically, being completely oblivious of our thoughts.

“Okay, but you’ll have to get the metals for yourself. We will also talk about our payment at that time,” I remarked with a serious face on.

[Stupid booby girl!] Alice still kept on her blabbering in her mind, which caused me to slip.

“Pfft- Haha.” I quickly covered my mouth, but it was useless.

Pat raised her brows and questioned me. “What’s so funny? Would you mind sharing it with me?” She asked with a curious face, but I couldn’t tell it to her.

“Ah… sorry. You wouldn’t understand it anyway,” I tried saving the moment, luckily she sighed once and then after a shrug of her shoulder, she said that my conditions were alright and that she would be happy if I could smith armors for her soldiers as well. I nodded as an answer and then she left, along with her entourage. They were like obedient children in front of her and left without a word.

“Well, that turned out quite well!” I said happily, in a good mood, with a smile on my face.

“Yes. Anyway, should we go deeper into the dungeon? Though you won’t be able to come with us, Ellery,” Alice offered up and then told Ellery the truth. We would have to use our battle forms if we were to move on.

“Before you answer, Ellery. I think that we should return to our house for now so that we can concoct those pills. We should get stronger first, and then we can always come back and go deeper,” I answered before Ellery could say anything. Poor girl didn’t even get a chance to speak.

“....” After looking at us silently, with her brows furrowed, Ellery said with an annoyed face - ”Then why did you even ask me?”

“Sorry…” We answered at the same time with our heads down. She made a proud face, thinking that she successfully rebuked us, while we were laughing in our minds at her reaction. We looked down because we were trying to hold back ourselves from laughing.

We went back to our house, which took about half an hour because we were continuously attacked by these stupid monsters. It was good that we were at a weaker area. When we got back, we sensed that Max was in his room with Melleri. Melleri didn’t have much time left before reaching the Space Founding Realm and descending to the second realm, all alone. It’s quite sad, in a way. I hope that this shitty system is going to go away!

Ellery went back to her room and I followed Alice into the chamber. I took out the herbs and gave it to Alice. She looked for information in her memories about these kinds of herbs. Although herbs had different levels and they were more powerful the higher you went but, their essences were mostly the same. It’s the same when I started using new metals to smith weapons. I knew what to look out for and what to concentrate on, but I didn’t know the exact properties of the new metal.

Alice had never concocted pills which would further our cultivation and because of this reason she had to be prepared and she needed to focus on what she was about to do. I went further away as to not bother her, while she started the process. It took about two hours for her to finish, which after I went behind her and hugged her from behind. I rubbed my chin on her face happily, feeling those two hours to be too long. I sniffed her hair, which smelled really nice, like usual and then gave a kiss on the right side of her face.

“Fufu~ I’m being loved. You should be rewarded generously in the future. Shall I be the one to do so?” She questioned me with a small laugh and welcomed my embraced with a kiss on the left side of my face.

There were six shining blue colored pills in her hands, which meant that she successfully concocted all of them! Although this was a new type, but since she knew the basics she didn’t have a problem with finishing them. It was hard for her at the first time, but she got the hang of it quickly. “My genius lover, hehe,” I said happily with a small laugh as I gave another kiss on the side of her head. We left the chamber and sat down in the same position, in our hot pool. Obviously, we were naked.

I used my mind power to call for Ellery. “Are you sure that this is a good idea? Although the water is boiling, which makes her unable to see anything, but it is still weird…” Alice remarked, but I quickly sealed her lips with a kiss. “You are as sweet and tasty as honey. Hehe,” I said while feeling happy that I was so lucky.

Ellery flew out of her room and appeared landed in front of us. “W- What the fuck are you doing?!” She shouted out upon noticing us. Alice raised her head and slapped the water, which splashed as a result. Naturally, she didn’t use her full strength, only a mortal’s strength. She was playing like a kid. So cute. I hugged her strongly, not caring about Ellery. Her eyes opened widely upon realizing that we didn’t mind her.

“Fucking perverts! Both of you! Tell me quickly… why did you call me? I hope that you didn’t call me only to show off!” She exclaimed with her eyes and mouth opened widely.

I felt a strong urge in my body to have my way with Alice, so I quickly handed over two pills to her. We weren’t so greedy as to give Ellery only one pill when she too took her part out of the fight. It is true that we did most of the work, but we aren’t so stingy. We could advance quite easily anyway, so it didn’t matter that much to us.

“T- Two? Are you sure? I didn’t do that much and you even saved my life before. I also have quite a lot of things in my possession thanks to my father... I can’t accept this when you guys did so many things for me,” She said with a touched face as she put her hands on her hips. She was getting used to our behavior, so she quickly forgot our position.

“I’m a girl...” Alice trolled her by saying such words.

“....” I chuckled upon hearing it, while Ellery put her hand on her forehead and shook her head sideways. After looking at us silently for a few seconds, she said - “You know how I meant it… stupid dragon.”

“Hahaha~ I was just kidding. Anyway, just accept it. We are going to get two even if it’s like this, so you don’t have to worry about us not getting enough. And to begin with, we are advancing much quicker than any other cultivator, especially considering that our elemental bodies are completed. We just have to learn using our domains. Because of this reason we might take even less time here than at the second level,” Alice laughed heartily and then reasoned perfectly.

“Good for you… Rethinking it… Just give me two, you aren’t even worthy of this!! Damned unfair monsters!” Ellery said as she took them away and after turning around, she left while stomping on the ground heavily, before jumping up to the door of her room. She turned around and after sticking out her tongue, she shut the door.

“Fufu~ What can I say?” Alice laughed happily once again. After Ellery left, I immediately attacked Alice. I started kissing her neck, while her tail was swaying around happily. “Kyun~ H- hey, haha. It tickles. Uh~ Now you have done it!” Alice said as she jumped on me, feeling her tickling turning into something else…

Alice was a wondrous creature. After having sex, we sat down in the pool and put a pill into our mouths. We felt as a huge amount of energy flooded my energy veins and rushed through it. Ellery probably would be in pain after gulping it down. I’m sure that it would be painful for me and Alice too if it wouldn’t be for us being True Divine Beasts. We have way much thicker and wider energy veins, so such an amount, although uncomfortable, but was still manageable.

With such a high amount of energy supporting my mind, I was able to comprehend the Domain and Space laws much quicker compared to before. Using one of my minds, I knew that when Ellery left, she immediately gulped one down. She finished after two hours probably because her meridians were wide enough to channel the energy through it and not cause her any pain. We continued our comprehending and meditation for a whole week straight.

I was using four of my minds to train and one to look around and survey our surroundings. After a week of meditation finally, we broke through and reached the fourth stage, while the pill also ran out of energy. The fourth stage also meant a new ability for us!

Being at the fourth stage made it possible for us to use Alice’s attack, called Space Breath. Mine gave us the ability to survive and divide, while Alice’s gave us the ability to destroy anything in our way. This attack shoots out a powerful ball of Space Energy, making space crack, which would result in the surrounding environment being swallowed. This skill could be used on anyone below the sixth level. It would be pointless afterward.

From that point on, cultivators can teleport, so even if space were to collapse, it still wouldn’t amount to much. They could simply teleport out of the affected area… but for now? For now, this is a terrifyingly powerful attack! Ellery also broke through, but it has happened five days prior to ours. We were at the early stage whilst she was at the peak of the third stage, so it didn’t take a lot of time for her to reach the fourth stage. That being the case, this week, she took the other one as well and reached the fifth stage.

We stood up and went out to hunt. We didn’t really need to eat, but I was wishing for something delicious. Since Alice felt my feelings, she also started thinking of meat, which in turn, made her hungry. Through our bond, our feelings and moods can very easily spread to the other. This is true even for normal humans. Sometimes if you see someone happy you might get into a better mood or into a bad mood upon seeing someone gloomy. Since we are even connected, this can happen eve more easily with us than with normal people.

We caught a boar-like monster, which had a good taste. We knew of this because we ate from its kind before. This time Alice was the one to cook, which was a treat to my eyes. “What do you mean? It’s not like I don’t know what you know… I could be a housewife anytime!” She said proudly with a ladle in her hand.

“Oh? That sounds good, though we should wait with making a family. Maybe… the eighth level?” I asked, not really sure of the right moment. It would be better to make a family when we are powerful enough to protect our child or children. I don’t wish to be the kind of parent who can’t protect his own offspring.

“Aww~ such cute thoughts. You are making my private parts melt. You know…” She stopped for a moment and put her pointing finger on her chin with a thoughtful look on her face. “I found something interesting in your memories. What was it again? Naked apron? Fufu~” She said such words, which caused a strong reaction in my lower body. Just the thought of it was enough. She laughed with her trademark-like laugh upon noticing it. She left and then came back in a few seconds in such an attire.

Although we sat down at the table to eat, but my head was wandering at other places, along with my eyes. After having enough of spilling half of the food Alice made, I simply attacked her. A few hours later we sat on our bed back to back and gulped down the other pill.

This universe differed from what I’ve read in the light novels when I was in my past life. In those novels, cultivators had to care about foundations, but here we didn’t have to because the whole first level was the foundation realm.

We again started circulating the energy that rushed out of the pill and trained our domains for another week and broke through to the fifth stage as a result. Although it was enough to reach only the early fifth stage - which meant three hundred and sixty golems of strength in our human forms - but it was still a very good result... Our monster forms were a bit different than before because our strengths weren’t going to increase by seventy-five percents. That was only until the second stage.

At the third stage, our strength increased by a hundred and seventy percent in our monster forms, while upon reaching the fourth stage, our strength increased by sixty percent. It would steadily decrease until reaching twenty-five percents at the ninth stage. But that was still a tremendous difference. Especially considering how much our strengths are going to be.

I stood up from the ground, which was followed by Alice and the cracking noises of our bones. I felt refreshed and powerful, I felt wonderful! In my past life, I wasn’t able to feel this certainty, this self-confidence. In the end, it doesn’t matter what are we talking about. If there is something real that is moving, controlling us then we can be always more self-confident and certain. In this case that something is the strength.

It’s no wonder that many cultivators get over their heads and turn into ‘bad’ people. In my opinion, everyone is equal and so, I’m going to kill everyone equally, who dares standing in my way. I thought like this in my past life too and this isn’t going to change this time either. Of course, in my past life, I didn’t kill anyone. Maybe I should have… Ah~ That feeling when you hate some people so much.

Now that I think about it I too have changed somewhat.

Am I losing my own self? Who I was!? Maybe gaining power really comes with losing our feelings slowly? Though… I can’t say that it would be true. I feel much more real and I am enjoying this life of mine very much. I’ve never felt so much love. Well, I don’t think that there would be an idiot, who would cry over his life with such a wonderful girl beside him.

[Fufu~ are you thinking about me, my love?] Alice questioned me after hearing my thoughts. I felt that she felt very happy that I thought of such things.

I answered her with a yes in my mind and then I kissed her deeply, for a long time.

I wonder what is the final destination. If all of our predecessor True Divine Beasts reached the tenth level and they were immortals, then why are we here? I mean, there can be only one of our kind. I couldn’t help but think of such things. Suddenly I felt my lips to be wet. It was because Alice kissed me.

[Did you notice it, Hiro?] She asked while she kept rolling her tongue inside my mouth. It felt really hot and slimy. Waaa! I’m loving her so much!

[What?] I questioned her, not knowing what she meant and I didn’t look for the answer in her mind either.

[That you aren’t distressed and that you aren’t gritting your teeth anymore. Hehe,] She spilled the beans as she separated from me and looked deeply into my eyes with her burning love, visible in her eyes.

[Hahaha, now that you say it, it’s indeed true!] I laughed upon realizing it. Ever since reincarnating, I’ve never noticed myself doing such a thing.

[Interesting. It seems like I’ve outgrown things like distress, though… that is your cause, Alice. Ever since we became one, I’ve been much happier than ever before.] I admitted my feelings as I put my right hand on her face and leaned forward to steal her lips once again.

[Uh- Do you want to make love again? If not, then don’t tell me things like these…] She thought while looking to the side after our kiss. Although she was saying that, but she felt horny and she was rubbing her thighs together. She definitely wanted me.

[I always want to make love with you, dear.] I admitted my crime and then ‘attacked’ her.

After another session, we left our house and went around on planet Cyder killing monsters in our human forms, also using Space Breath numerous times. This skill took a lot out of us, but I could say that in this whole realm, it was a sure kill attack if struck. Not even Pat Cooley would escape if we could hit her with this attack. Of course, that was unlikely considering how much quicker she was than us. Now we were left with only one problem.

What is this mark inside my sea of consciousness? When I broke through to the fifth stage and my sea of consciousness grew in size, I noticed that there was a mark in my mind power. It was alien, which means that someone might know where am I? There is only a single possibility and that is Wick Malmstad! Did he plant his mind power into mine to sense my location? But if he didn’t come up till now, then it’s likely that it’s usable only once. I guess he didn’t think that I would advance this much and thought that he could sneakily activate it when it roots deeply enough into my mind, without me noticing it.

We were laying down in our bed with my arms spread widely, while Alice used my arms as a pillow. “Hmph… stupid Wick. They can come at us anytime, but they are going to pay a heavy price,” I said as a small smile slipped onto my face. I’m not going to erase his mind power. No, I’m going to leave it as it is and let them come. If anything, then we can still escape.

-------------------- Wick Malmstad’s POV: --------------------

I visited Frank’s Elf and what can I say? She is a real beauty! I’m really looking forward to killing those two brats. There are only two weeks left before my mind power would root deeply enough into the Hydra. I can feel it even now, slowly growing into him. Stupid Hydra. I’m going to activate it and know where he is without him even noticing it. If only I were to be close enough to him… then I could also use that mind power to attack his mind directly.

Right now, I’m inside the Rising Sun sect. Our Malmstad clan could be said to be one of the branch clans of the Rising Sun Sect. I’m also in a very friendly relationship with Chic Wilhelm, which makes our clan even more glorious. I’m here to ask one of his alchemists to give me pills. I didn’t have to wait for long for him to appear.

“Hello…” He welcomed me with a stiff face. He always made such a face, so I didn’t take it upon myself.

“Hi, Master!” I said jokingly, but like usually, his reaction was no different this time either.

“Haha- Stop with the bullshit So? Have you got what you wanted?” He scratched the back of his head upon hearing my joke and then asked.

“No. I was on my way towards her,” I answered with a small smile on my face.

“Alright, then I’m going to accompany you on your way,” He furrowed his brows and then started walking beside me, which I thanked him.

“Is there something happening in your clan?” He asked on the way to break the silence. Truth be told… we weren’t really friends. He always behaved stiffly and weirdly around me.

“Nothing serious, though Frank from the Shrill Moguls clan had some problems with two monsters. I’m helping him for now as a means of spending time and… one of them has a human girl form! Her beauty is truly unmatched! Once I kill the guy, I’ll be sure to take her as mine!” I said excitedly. Just upon thinking of her blood flowed into my abdomen. Wilhelm furrowed his brows and pulled on his lips, just like always when it came to themes like these. Did he not like women or what? I never understood him.

“Two monsters? What kind of monsters?” After a while, he questioned me with his brows raised and his arms behind his back.

“One of them was a Hydra with five heads, while the other one was a dragon,” I answered him honestly.

“Hydra and Dragon? That’s a weird pair. They should be divine beasts, right? Did you catch them or something?” He asked stupidly.

“Haha, I said just now that once I catch them. And yes, I think that they are divine beasts and I planted my mind power into the Hydra. Two weeks later I can activate it to sense where they are without being noticed by those stupid monsters. Hahaha~!” I laughed happily upon thinking of how great I was.

“I’d be a bit more careful in your place. You shouldn’t underestimate divine beasts. Just look at that Pat Cooley bitch. She too is such a pain in the ass. If they aren’t chasing you, then I’d advise you to simply stop,” He said such boring things. Why would I be afraid of some puny monsters? What evolution, what talent, what bloodline! I’m going to destroy everything in my path and I’ll take anything which I want to become mine!

“Could you send me a bit of help in that case? Someone at a higher stage?” I asked with a pleading face. He furrowed his brows and after spotting a guy, who was similarly perverted compared to me, he called him over. He told him that he should help me out when the time comes, two weeks later. He was at the eighth stage, so he would be a perfect help!
