The Guild and intelligent food

Alice’s Pov:

We were following this Ellery girl towards the city. She was quite a beauty herself. She had long, dark brown hair and a nice face with yellow eyes. Maybe that ‘Gold’ name wasn’t only for a show. She had a slim figure with wide hips, but she was much smaller at her chest! Fufu~

She had an oval face with a straight, small nose and slightly thick brows, which looked good on her. She was a hundred and seventy-three centimeters high, so she was quite tall. Hiro didn't care about her beauty and he had eyes only for me, which made me feel great! I’m intending to reward him later for his loyalty~ but somehow I feel like I’m lying. I mean it’s more like I’m the one being rewarded all the time...

We walked for about twenty minutes before reaching a city, which was called Erihall. Or so Ellery said. Before entering it, I grabbed onto Ellery's shoulders as I turned her around to face me. She had a startled and slightly scared face upon seeing me looking into her eyes so seriously. After a bit of silence, I started talking. “Ellery, although I don’t want to hurt you, but I don’t want our secret to be revealed either, so I’d like to ask you to make a promise. Sorry, but I can't trust you since we've just met...”

“A-Alright, I understand. Well, it’s no big deal so I’m going to do it," She said with a small stutter while looking to the side awkwardly as she put her hair behind her ear.

Knowing that our secret was safe, I thanked her happily, in a much better mood. “Thank you very much! We are also going to promise that we won’t talk about your… yellow rain.”

“H- How can you be so cruel!? As a fellow woman!? You should know better than to bring it up!” She shouted back with a small stutter as she stepped back with her arms and eyes opened widely and with an unbelieving face. I told her that I mentioned it as a bargaining chip. She quickly promised what she had to and we entered the city. On the way, I've gained quite a lot of whistles, so I took out my black cape and wore it. Stupid mongrels.

We walked into the inn with Ellery in the lead. She went before the middle-aged receptionist guy, who had short, brown hair, big eyes and he had a burly body. He had a similar body compared to Hiro, but he was shorter. He also had a small beard and he was at the second stage of Domain Space Realm.

“Hello, Max! I’d like to book -?” Ellery looked at us with inquiring eyes as she turned around. We told her that one room was enough for us. I guess she was a regular so she probably had a room.

The guy, called Max, looked at us with suspicious eyes and raised brows as he questioned our background from Ellery. “They aren’t troublemakers, are they?” Upon hearing his question, Ellery's back stiffened, but she still answered him calmly and told him that we've saved her from a monster not long ago.

“Alright then. I trust you," Max nodded as he replied.

“Don’t worry, Max, right? We aren’t going to cause any trouble unless we are provoked," I said with a smile as I took off my cape and we also introduced ourselves.

“Alright then. I hope that you are saying the truth. I wouldn’t be this suspicious if not for your capes. Usually, only shady evildoers are wearing such clothes but seeing your beauty, I can understand your reason," Max said while nodding as he gave a key for us to our room. We took it away and after Ellery paid, she lead us towards it, though this wasn't a big inn.

[It seems like she is indeed a regular here. Well, it's no wonder. Most of the cultivators prefer to stay in these inns instead of building houses since we are moving around a lot. Probably only the lazier ones have their own houses or the leading organizations...] I thought as we reached our room and entered with Ellery in tow.

“So what did you want to talk about?” She questioned us with her brows raised and we told her that we know nothing about this place because we ascended not long ago and that we need information about everything she knew. Naturally, this surprised her very much as she jumped up from her seat and shouted with wide opened eyes. “WHAT!? How could that be possible? You killed that tiger so easily and you are so powerful at the first stage?!”

She slapped her forehead as she started thinking. Poor Ellery... She wet herself out of fear and then even her common sense was broken thanks to us. [Hiro, should we tell her our origin? Since she is the descendant of a couple from a higher realm, it’s likely that she knows more things than the people in these low realms.] I questioned Hiro as I looked at him with my brows raised, while Ellery still had a thinking face.

[I don’t know. She doesn’t seem to be the malicious type either. I mean she could have simply run towards us and make us into diversions, but instead of doing so, she pleaded for help. A truly vicious person wouldn't have done such a thing. I guess we can.] Hiro thought with a nod after thinking about it for a bit.

“Why are you looking at each other silently? It’s as if you would be... talking? I think," Ellery questioned us as she tilted her head to the side and kept looking at our faces. I guess she felt surprised by this as well because she was supposed to hear us if we were to use our mind powers to talk.

This is because if a cultivator has stronger mind power than ours, then that person could easily listen in on our conversation if we were to talk by using our mind powers. Firstly, our mind powers weren't weaker than hers, but she didn't know about that. Secondly, we never talked by using our mind powers, but our bond, so she would never be able to hear what we are talking about.

“Are you by any chance… Soul Bounded? I’ve heard about it from my father that there are couples like those, but it’s VERY rare," She questioned us as she emphasized the 'very' and then after some thinking, she continued - "Are you one of those couples?”

[Although we should be the one to ask her not the other way around… haha. Well, it doesn’t matter that much.] I laughed upon noticing that she didn't say even a single word and we were the ones who were being questioned. Well, it's no wonder. Her common sense has been broken just now!

[Just talk with her. I’m not good with women...] Hiro replied, waiting for me to continue our chit-chat. [If we wouldn't be bounded, then I wouldn't believe it. You were perfectly fine with me as well when we first met.] I remarked while shaking my head. Of course, I knew that he wasn't lying and that he was much more at ease with me because I was his 'other half' and because I was a little girl in the head anyway, though a clever one~

“You’re still doing it...” Ellery remarked as she kept switching between my and Hiro's face. She put her hands on her hips, waiting for an answer to leave our mouths, while she was tapping her right foot on the ground.

“Ah- yes, sorry. We are indeed soul bounded and yes we are at the first stage of Domain Space Realm. Now I’m going to tell you one more thing, but you will have to keep your mouth or…” I didn't finish my sentence because she can think of anything she wanted to. We wouldn't kill someone like her just because she couldn't hold her mouth, but sometimes it's better if you let your target's mind run amok.

“O-okay, don’t worry. I won’t tell it to anyone!” She exclaimed with a small stutter as her face turned slightly fearful. I guess she remembered that little scene we had...

“That’s good then. The truth is that we are True Divine Beasts. I’m a Dragon God while Hiro is a Twelve Headed Hydra. You are the first person we told this, so I hope that you aren’t going to betray our expectations..." I told her the truth honestly while looking deeply into her eyes. Her pupils shrunk upon hearing my answer as she looked back deeply into my eyes.

“T- True Divine Beasts!? Two of you!? That's ridiculous! This place is truly fucked up! Hahaha! Have I gone crazy or what?” She laughed in a crazed voice while looking towards the ceiling. After half a minute of madness, she finally calmed down. I guess she knows about our race. His father isn't a small figure in that case because we are quite rare and unknown...

"*Sigh* Alright, I'm sorry for my questioning, but I couldn't hold back my curiosity..." She said with a sigh and then sat back down into her chair as she started explaining. “Okay. This planet we are on is a Human Planet. It’s called Sypno. There are four other planets. One called Droner which is a Beastmen Planet, Cyder, Lark which has a high population of elves and finally Lystrion.”

“Cyder is mostly controlled by beastmen, but it's a wild planet with monsters everywhere, while Lystrion is mostly controlled by the humans and it's the same with monsters as Cyder. There are quite a lot of smaller skirmishes among the humans and the beastmen, though I don’t really care about it and I’ve never participated in it. Where I come from, humans and beastmen are working together to fight back the ancient Harbingers.” Hearing a concept which wasn't in my Inherent memories, I quickly stopped her and asked for more details. “Wait, what? What are those ancient Harbingers?”

“Uhm. Well, you are supposed to learn of this later on, but these creatures can be found everywhere from the fifth realm upwards. In those upper realms, every planet has these Harbingers. Not even my father knows how they were created or born, but these monsters are very powerful. I’m sure that the creator of the universe knows about it, maybe he is the one creating these creatures, but I know one thing for sure.”

“And that is that these creatures are doing nothing else than killing and destroying planets, humans, beastmen or whatever life they can find. Although I don't know much about your race, but I've heard that in strength alone, the Harbingers are almost as powerful as True Divine Beasts. The difference is probably that they don't have powerful skills and that they are using only their body to fight." Ellery explained as she leaned forward and put her hands together while looking at us seriously.

We made surprised faces as she finished her explanation. We felt excited to fight those Harbingers, but that's still further away in the future. After calming down, I questioned her about the leading organizations, the elves, and such things.

“Ehm... to be honest, although I can start explaining such things to you, but it's easier if you touch the memory crystal in the information house. I don't know anything more about that because I don't care about such things, though looking at your faces, I'm quite sure that you just want to know basic information as well." We nodded as she finished her explanation.

"Hmm- it's true. It takes much less time and yes, we aren't interested in these clans anyway. We just want to know the basic things," Hiro joined the fray by telling the truth with a sleepy face. Ellery nodded upon hearing his words and said that she is going to explain the most basic things and if we want to know more details then we can visit the information house.

“Uhm, so the leader sect of the humans is called The Rising Sun sect while the beastmen's leading tribe is called Warlords. Be careful of offending both of these because that would mean the end for you, at your levels. Also, The Rising Sun sect has an emblem which looks like a rising sun... while the Warlords tribe has an emblem which looks like a tiger paw. I’ve heard that their leader is a Heavenly Tiger Divine Beast at the ninth stage. She is so powerful that she could kill even people at the fourth level!”

Ellery finished her explanation while exclaiming loudly as she reached the information about the beastmen's leader. “Oh! A fellow Divine Beast! Maybe we should visit her when we progress enough...” I said while a thought was already forming in my mind, which didn't escape Hiro's attention.

[What’s up, Alice? Do you want to pet cats? She isn’t going to purr you know?] Hiro started destroying my dreams, but I didn't surrender!

[W-Who knows? What if she IS going to purr for me?] I tried proving my truth, hoping that it would be like that. Making a divine beast purr was something ridiculous, but I've done even weirder things under the rule of Hiro's...

[Hiro's what? Hehe~] He made an idiotic face as he looked at me and wanted me to say it aloud, but I'm not going to talk about his column!

“Well, it’s up to you. But can you transform only partly into your monster forms?” Ellery replied to my idea from before with a shrug of her shoulder and then she questioned us with her head tilted to the side.

“Yes, we can,” I said as I activated my battle form only on my right hand, turning it into a draconic hand! I would look like a lizard beastman or something like that. That being the case, Ellery nodded with a satisfied face as she said.

"With that, I'm sure that you can travel around however you wish to." Ellery nodded upon hearing my words and then asked if we need anything more we want to know about. We told her that she still didn't talk about Lark, the planet of the elves.

“Oh, really, I almost forgot it. I don't know too much about them because they are quite the shut-ins when it comes to outsiders, but I know that they hate humans because of a single reason... and those are that the males are continuously raiding Lark because they love the look of the elves... I'm sure that you get my meaning. I feel very sorry for the elves and I really want to burn those guys on fire, but I can't do anything about it.”

“Although mortals wouldn't do such things so openly and so many of them, but we are talking about cultivators, who can't be restricted. If the poor elves can't protect themselves, then they'll have to bear the consequences... The worst is that a few beastmen are doing that as well, but at least they are only challenging the elves and take them away if they can beat the woman.”

"Luckily, the elves are very powerful and the humans only rarely succeed in abducting a female elf," Ellery explained the open-secret behind Lark. I felt enraged upon hearing it! I squeezed my fists angrily, while Hiro had the same kind of reaction. He started thinking about what would happen to me if I were to be abducted in the same manner, which made him even more enraged.

"*Growl*" A deeply sounding growl escaped from his body, which made the whole building trembling for a moment. I put my hand on his face and caressed it with loving eyes. I gave a kiss on his lips in front of Ellery, but I didn't care. No one can stop me from showing my love for Hiro. Place and time don't matter to me!

“H-Hiro right? Please calm down. You are scaring me...” Ellery said with a fearful voice as she leaned back in her chair with her hands slightly raised, but as Hiro felt my lips, he quickly calmed down. I felt my lust rising by a notch... Why does it happen to me in the weirdest moments? Am I truly such a perverted girl? That can't be, can it?

[You are simply a pervert, Alice. There is nothing more to it. Hehe~] Hiro started bullying me as soon as he heard my thoughts. I couldn’t escape!

“Do you need anything else?” Ellery questioned us calmly as she noticed that our playful mood has returned. We shook our heads as we said no and upon seeing it, she left after saying goodbye.

Since it was still quite early in the morning, we left the inn for now and went towards a place, we wished to join for a while. After asking a weaker passerby, we went towards the Guild. It was rude to stop someone who was stronger than you. Such a bullshit. I wouldn't mind if someone were to stop me just to ask a question, even though I could be much more arrogant thanks to my race. We reached the guild in five minutes since we weren't running in the city.

The interior of the building was spacious and clean. There was a bar-like section on the left side and a receptionist counter on the right side. We walked up to the counter and found a girl sitting in her chair, cleaning her nails, clearly feeling bored. She was at the fifth stage of Domain Space Realm. She had red shoulder long hair and a petite body. She was an average looking woman. As we stopped in front of her, she asked in a rude tone.

“Welcome, what do you want?” She wasn’t a polite person for sure... but none of us cared about such things as long as she does her job. After saying hi, we told her that we want to become members of the guild.

“Okay, then firstly you have to be examined by one of our members. You know about the ranks, right?” She questioned us with her brows raised, hoping that she didn't have to explain everything to us. Such a lazy person...

“No, sorry but we know nothing about them, so I hope that you could tell it to us," Hiro said with a slightly unhappy and rude tone. Eye for an eye... Only idiots and weak people say things like 'bread for stone'.

“*Sigh* Yes, that’s why I’m here though I’m only substituting a friend of mine. I'm not even a receptionist! Anyway, there are ten colors in the guild each meaning a different level. It’s not like you are going to meet with a cultivator who isn't at the same level as you, so I'm not going to tell you every rank there are," She said with a sigh and didn't forget to complain about how she has to substitute.

“At the first level your badge is white, at the second it’s gray, at the third it’s black, and at the fourth it’s cyan. There are colors till the tenth level, but it's unlikely that any of us would get that far, so I'm not going to bother with telling you everything. *Sigh*" After telling us only so much and sighing again, she continued.

“Each of these colors is separated into five different layers. This depends on your fighting power, not on your actual stage. That’s why we are going to hold an examination. So if you have the fighting power of a first or second stage cultivator, then you'll get a Cadet badge. From the third to the fourth stage a junior badge, from the fifth to the sixth stage a member badge, from the seventh to the eighth an expert badge, and finally if you have the fighting power of a ninth stage expert, you'll get a master badge. *Sigh* Why am I even talking? Realizing that she could have saved her breath, she made an annoyed face. This woman is ridiculous...

“On the examination, you can use whatever method you want to and you can turn even into a monster for all we care. We're going to keep silent about anything you have because only your examiner can enter the examining room and the person has to make an oath and a promise about silence as well. I'm sure that you are glad to become cadets so that I won't have to care about things like calling for an examiner, right?" She questioned as with a commanding tone, waiting for us to answer positively. You bitch... You can wait for that!

“No. We are going to take the junior level exam," Hiro said with a smirk and a shrug of his shoulder as he felt the suddenly released bloodlust.

“Are you sure? You won’t be spared by the examiner even if you are weaker." The bitch was trying to slack off, but we aren't going to budge!

“Yes, we are sure. Don’t worry," I said with a cold smile on my face as I used my bloodlust to suppress hers. She made a scared face for a moment as she leaned back in her surprise. Realizing that she was defeated, she tried to gain back her pride by being rude. Swaggerer...

“*Snort* Why would I worry?” She snorted as she said, but I answered to her question! “I don’t know nor do I care about your reasons, I’ve just said it out of habit.” Realizing that we were equally rude and uncaring about her, she had to stop. This naturally pissed her off which was clearly visible on her face. This truly showed how people were. The stronger they became, the more opened they turned.

They didn’t hide their desires and darkness so much. When they gained enough power, they only showed more of it. She was rude all this while, yet she was ‘annoyed’ by our rudeness. This showed how she thought that only she should be respected, yet she did nothing to gain it. Stupid bitch...

“Okay, then wait a moment. I’m going to call for a really good opponent for you two. Since you think that you are so great..." She said with an evil grin on her face as she used her mind power. I guess she thought that we can't sense her mind power, which was wrong...

"Charles, can you hear me? Come, I know that you like beating up newcomers. Here are two of them. They want to take the Junior level exam. I ask you to take care of them nicely... Oh, by the way... one of them is a female, though I don't know how she looks like." She sent these thoughts to this 'Charles'. We felt a weaker mind power rushing back as he replied.

"Oh? Fresh meat? Alright! Hahaha~ You are the best Tracy! I'm going to beat them up real good. If the female is a good one, then I might as well enjoy her a bit. Although the guild would probably kill us for such a thing, but a dead man tells no tales! Hahaha!" Charles replied such disgusting thoughts back as an answer. An evil grin spread on our faces, which were hid by our cloaks and dark magic. It seems like we can play around just fine.

Fifty seconds later, a young looking man rushed through the door and appeared in front of us, next to 'Tracy'. He looked to be about twenty-three years old and he was at the fourth stage of Domain Space Realm. He had an agile looking lean body with blonde hair and brown eyes. He was a higher ranked Junior and it’s likely that in one or two years he would become a ‘Member’ level member of the guild. He had quite a proud look on his face as he measured us up.

“Hello, my name is Charles Shaw. You two are the examinees? I think that you should be more careful in the future and not bite more than you can chew. Be careful because I'm not going to spare you. Now follow me, I don’t have too much time," He said with his chest stuck out, in a proud manner, with a commanding tone. Only Hiro can command me, no one else. I'm sure that this little shit is going to be delicious...

[Let's start already! I want to murder! I want to kill!] I shouted in my mind as a small portion of my bloodlust slipped out of my body.

[Yes, though we will have to spare him for now, but we can mark him with our mind powers and eat him when he leaves the guild. Hehe~] Hiro said as a wonderful plan was already born in our minds. It was time to eat a human as well!

[Great! Then let's prepare! I'm already feeling hungry!] I exclaimed in my mind with a happy face. [Yes, though it feels really weird. I mean I hate cannibalism and even the thought of eating an intelligent being is *shudder* disgusting. But in my monster form, I find anything that is meat, delicious. No, especially intelligent beings are the most delicious! I guess it's because of our instincts. That tiger we ate was as good as a delicious stew!] Hiro started thinking about the reason behind our love for humanoid food in our monster forms.

While we were talking about the poor Charles’ taste, we reached the examining room. It was a huge stadium. Tracy had to wait outside because only the examiners and examinees can enter. She was none of these two. I'm sure that she wanted to see how we are going to die, but unfortunately for her, firstly, we aren't going to lose, and secondly, she can't enter because this is a high-level formation.

“Charles, I have a question. How should we take this exam? One by one or should we attack as a pair?” Hiro questioned Charles as he tilted his head to the side, while he was cracking his knuckles.

“*Snort* What do you think? Do you think you alone have a chance? Hahaha! That’s a nice joke. You better pair up and if you can defend against ten of my strikes then you can get your ‘junior’ level membership.” Hearing his arrogant speech, both of us said in our minds, exactly at the same time. [He has to die.]

He made the promise and the oath about staying silent and then went to the middle of the stadium. "Come, you little wimps. Hahaha! I'm going to take care of-" He was laughing loudly with his eyes shut and his hands on his stomach while looking upwards. He stopped everything he did as he noticed that we were already flying towards him in our monster forms. He activated his domain as quickly as he was able to with a terrified face as sweat appeared on his forehead upon seeing our true forms.

As he activated his domain, our strength decreased from four hundred and twenty to two hundred and eighty, while Charles had three hundred golems of strength since he was in the middle of the fourth stage. Charles’ pupils contracted as he saw that although we turned weaker than before, but his domain was still nowhere near enough to make a big enough difference against us.

Luckily for us, he used his space energy to create shoot a thick bolt of lighting towards us. He didn't know that our elemental bodies were complete and that we were immune to all of them... We simply flew through those bolts of lightning as if they would have been ghosts. We were ones with the elements! Realizing that his stupid attack didn't work, his face turned into a panicked one as he tried to pull out his weapon, but how could he? We weren't snails...

Just as he grabbed onto the handle of his weapon, he was smashed into his chest by one of Hiro's heads. While he was flying through the air, he took control of his body and started flying. He just finished balancing himself when he noticed that he was already surrounded by four heads, with colorful lights in their mouths. Hiro used his remaining heads to surround Charles and attacked him with the elements. He was surrounded by four heads from four ways, while Hiro's fifth head was already above him and I was flying upward from under him.

He looked up and down only to see our wide opened mouths with razor sharp teeth. His face turned into a despaired one, which made me feel great. He probably realized that our teamwork was way too good for his taste. He wasn't able to hit even once, yet he was about to be defeated.

Both of us bit into his body 'gently', fearing that he would die before the appointed time. This is most likely going to hurt him for a few days... I rolled my scabrous tongue on his legs, rubbing off his skin in large patches. Hiro was doing the same just from above. I'm sure that he saw our horrendous jaws a few times before losing consciousness. His head was very close to Hiro's teeth, numerous times. Knowing that even a few centimeters would be enough to turn your head into minced meat, I'm sure that he was very terrified.

Since he lost consciousness, we spat him out. I really wanted to gulp him down. His blood had a good taste... His whole body looked terrible. Large wounds covered his body, his skin was missing at many places, his crotch as well... I hope that it wasn't me! I don't want to rub it off even if I'm in my monster forms. [No... It was me. *blergh*] Hiro said as he almost choked. His face, his arms, everything was covered in blood.

Although he was unconscious, his body was trembling and spasming and even his mouth started frothing. This was because our teeth and spit contained venom. Since we bit into his body, he was poisoned. The tiger became so weak after being bitten as well. Both of us had a very powerful paralyzing effect in our spite. Just a single bite and our enemy might turn paralyzed in a few seconds.

If our poisons weren't treated, it could easily take away Charles' life as well. Luckily for him, we could make a cure with just a thought. Both of us spat on his body, our detoxified spits. It flowed into his wounds, clearing out the poison from his body. We left a little bit of it in his body, but most of it was cleared out. This would help us in finding him in the future and it would also bother him for a few more days. The more he suffers the better! This little shit wanted to take me! Hmph...

His complexion quickly turned for the better as much as it can, considering that half of his face was missing... We turned back into our human forms and Hiro threw Charles' body over his right shoulder. This lean little wimp was like a stick compared to my Hiro's manly body. Fufu~ We left the stadium and appeared in front of Tracy, who was sitting behind the counter with a bored face.

“W-What the hell has happened?!" She exclaimed loudly with a questioning voice upon noticing that Hiro threw Charles' body over the counter, right behind her. Charles' body landed on the ground with a loud thud. He was still alive and he could regenerate over time, but the next week would be a painful one for him.

“Nothing, he was just weak or I don’t know.. Anyway, I hope that you are going to treat his injuries. I don’t want to spend my time on someone like him. Also, I guess we can get our junior level membership, right?” Hiro answered with a shrug of his shoulder. So evil, so wild, so good, ah~ I love him! I'm getting wet... N- NO! These were my draconic instincts... Ugh. It seems like they are starting to flare up. So soon?...

“Y-yes. Alright here are your badges. You can leave, I’m going to take care of Charles," Tracy said with a small stutter as she quickly handed over two black colored badges with 'Junior' written on them and then squatted down to examine his body. The people in the guild were also looking towards our way. She looked up with a panicked face as she questioned us.

“What the hell did you do with him that he is in such a state? He is even unconscious and... What’s this smell? Did he- Did he wet himself?!” Tracy opened his eyes widely upon realizing the case.

“What? *Sniff* Fuck, he really did it! I hope that my shoulder wasn’t… ugh.” Hiro sniffed and then grunted with a small voice upon realizing that maybe his shoulder was wet as well. I quickly checked it for him and said with a small laugh - "Don’t worry my love, you are clear of pee. Hahaha~”

"Seriously... what's wrong with these people? This is the second one! When I have excess in my body, I immediately take care of it with my energy. Why would anyone wait for doing it? Only to pee themselves?" Hiro questioned with an unbelieving face as he spread his arms and shook his head. Well, I can understand them. It's easy to forget it, but it can easily backfire in such cases, though he probably peed himself because of our poison.

It relaxed his body, so he wasn't able to hold it in while being unconscious. On the other hand, if you don't eat and drink, you don't have to do such things. We aren't at a level where we can get by without eating and drinking, but we only rarely have to do so. These lazy people in the bar were all drinking and eating...

“Alright then, let’s leave. I still have to make new weapons as well." Hiro said as he used his Space Energy to clean his body and armor, just in case and then embraced my back.
