Rae noticed that next to Origin Vampire that used to say ‘Fledgling’, now said ‘Adult’. ‘I thought it said ‘Fledgling’ because I was just born, but it’s because I haven’t absorbed enough blood.’ Rae felt he needed to be clearer on his status as a vampire so he appraised it.

『Akashic System』Adult Vampire – The second stage of the Origin Vampire. Faster, stronger, smarter and more charismatic and perceptive than a ‘Fledgling’. An adult Origin Vampire is at the beginning steps of becoming a Sovereign.

‘Beginning steps, huh. I guess that means my status as an Origin Vampire makes me the Sovereign of Blood, but I don’t actually have the power of one. Sort of like a figurehead king or something.’ Although not an apples to apple comparison, it was close to Rae’s situation.

Rae then became aware of the implications of what the system had told him. ‘If being an ‘Adult’ is just the second stage, how many more stages are there?’ Rae felt overwhelmed at the thought. He could see how much has stats had raised after the advancement.

‘This is a good thing I suppose. Advancing will make it that much easier to get back to Earth,’ Rae thought with melancholy. He had been on Altera for only a month but missed Mary and Helen immensely. The two were his raison d'être.

Rae snapped out of his reverie as it would not help being depressed, and looked over the rest of his status.

‘「Hand-to-Hand Combat」and「Swordsmanship」leveled up despite me not using them. So have a bunch of other skills too.’ Rae thought it might be because of his enhanced stats.

He also obtained three new skills but already knew two of their effects. He appraised the most interesting of the three.

『Akashic System』「Thought Acceleration」– Accelerates thoughts and perceivable time is slowed down.

‘Whoa, overpowered. It doesn’t seem to be a passive skill as I don’t notice any difference. Let’s try activating it.’

As Rae, Norton, and Roland were walking, Rae could barely notice the time slow but felt it was noticeable enough to make a difference in a fight. And that was only at level 3! If he could get it to higher levels, then maybe he would get to a point to where he could feel time not moving at all. He deactivated it and was thankful it was an active skill. Living in slow motion permanently would feel terrible. He decided that he would only use it in a fight or dire circumstances.

That’s when he remembered he also gained a new Title.

『Akashic System』『Beast Conqueror』– Slay a beast that is over your level by a bast amount. Effect: You deal 10% more damage to beasts and 20% more damage to beasts that over level you by 50.

‘Sweet! Looks like not all titles are only titles. That’s a good thing to know. Now, there are only two things left to do.’ Rae had reached his short-term goal of gaining Intelligence and wanted to test out his theory.

Rae activated 「Mana Perception」and 「Perceptive Eyes」.

The world became filled with beautiful blue Mana particles that were much bigger than Rae had seen last time. They were the size of snowflakes now, just floating in the air. He could also feel the energy being radiated them much better than the other times. He could feel the particles pulsating as if they were alive. There was no more hell inducing pain as well. The power Rae felt at his fingertips again made him feel exhilarated.

‘Wonderful....’ That was the only way Rae could describe what he was seeing and feeling. He felt like he could wave a hand and send destruction everywhere he went.

But then he shook his head inwardly. ‘Okay, Rae. Don’t get lost in it. There’s no point if you’re dead so don’t get cocky,’ he cautioned himself. Had the Dire Boar been in tip-top condition, Rae would have been turned into an unrecognizable state instead.

He also remembered appraising the Dire Boar and seeing its status. A beast that could put the Dire Boar in such a state was incredibly dangerous so he wanted to be wary at all times.

By the time the time they reached the entrance to the cave, Rae was done looking at his status.

As they exited, Rae had felt a headache strike him out of nowhere. It felt like something was trying to burrow into his mind. This 'something' felt familiar though... He recognized it and realized it was the same presence he felt when they first entered the forest. He thought he was just imagining it at the time, but since he was stronger, he understood that it was the same. And it was real.

Rae turned his head in the direction he felt the presence. Since he could activate「Perceptive Eyes」with his「Enhanced Six Senses」, it was easy to see that far.

What he was greeted with was a pair of narrow and vertically slit yellow eyes. The beast was a pitch black feline only slightly smaller than the Dire Boar. ‘Appraise!’

A deep, seductive and mature sounding voice appeared within his mind. Rae could immediately guess whose voice it was.
