《Bloom》Seedling 84: Divine Meeting

A dais of circular shape like a wedding cake stood alone on top of a vast mountain top. The mountain was accorded by legend to be the meeting place of gods, although no human had ascended it in millennia.
The dais seated twelve, with space for plenty more, although the last Divine to reach such heights was over four thousand years ago.
Currently all twelve seats were occupied, a rare sight that almost never boded well for the mortal world.
“I’m tellin ya, I sensed something with a flash of power brighter than ‘ol Ra in the sky! If it wan’nt for the damn woods with their bleed’in magic aura...!” a heavyset dwarven figure clad in adamantium armor, with mithril hammers on his belt screamed. His right forefinger was pointing at a calm female elf on the other side of the table.
“Claiming that our woods are what prevented the divine sight of the dwarven Forgelord? On one hand I would love to claim the superiority of wood on the other…really? Since when was divine sight so easy that a few mere plants could allay it?” the elven woman whose form seemed woven from the power of light and grace itself scoffed. She disdainfully placed one of her platinum bangs that fell forward back behind a pointed tip ear. “There is no doubt that the Forgelord merely wants another excuse to invade the Green Nightmare, again. As if the last time our pet Mizarul decimated his legions wasn’t enough!”
“Wooden bitch!”
“Metal maggot!”
The head of the table was an old man that wearily rubbed his forhead. If he didn’t radiate an aura of power that crushed the breath from his foes, no one would assume he was anything other than a kind old grandfather.
“Silence.” The old human said, his voice echoing with power. “I won’t have the Third Elven-Dwarf war started merely because you two can’t agree whether or not a threat has arrived to our plane.” The elderly man threw a crystal he pulled from the air above the dais. “According to rumours from higher up, there has been a breakout from the Shattered Gods Plane.”

The faces of everyone at the table paled in fear.
Even the most powerful beings in the world of Vispar were merely equal to the lowest that guarded the Fallen. To think that something was powerful enough to escape the Fallen’s Prison and it chose to arrive here…
“We must mobilize our priesthoods at once.” the dwarf said, his voice rough with fear. “We cannot allow this to turn into another incident like the Dawn Invasion.”
The elf clenched her fist on the table, her eyes blazing in fury. “Even though I hate this metal maggot, I must agree. The First Empire of the Sun Elves will stand by, ready to support with all means required.”
Not to be outdone the Forgelord replied, “The dwarven people will provide any metal requirements that must be met, at a forty, no, fifty percent discount!” even as he said the words, everyone could tell the Forgelord’s heart was bleeding at the loss of profit.
“The Wind agrees to support this war.”
“The Water agrees to support this war.”
“The Fire agrees to support this war.”
“The Earth agrees to support this war.”
Each of the four speaker were Elemental Lords of their respective elements. Long ago they came into existence when Vespar formed. Unfortunately they were…less than bright.
That was one of the main reasons that the First High Human, Nif, was able to become the head of the Table of Power.
Nif nodded at the six that had pledged support before staring at the other five across from him, “What of the remaining votes?” he stared down the opposing faction with grandeur.
“The Darkness abstains from this conflict.”
“The Void abstains from this conflict.”
“The Nightmare abstains from this conflict.”
“The Shadow abstains from this conflict.”

The four Lords of Darkness stared belligerently back at Nif, before the last one spoke. “The Chaos abstains from this conflict, in the interest of unity, we will take no action during this time until the threat is dealt with.” said a smoking hot demoness.
“Vex, even you can see, this new creature must be a threat!” Nif said with passion. The newest of the Lords of Darkness had brought balance merely through her power alone to the Table.
The new power from the Dark, was something that none of the Light faction had ever fought before.
Previously, Vex rampaged after awakening, and when finally brought to the negotiating table, Vex had merely said, “I was sleeping for a nap and when I woke up there was nothing but insects around me. So what if I destroyed a few empires here and there? It’s not like they can’t renew themselves. Besides, no one forced those Emperors to go mad over my body!”
Everything about the demoness was perfect, body, shape, size, demeanor. Even with the wings, tail, and horns if she didn’t represent the opposing faction, Nif would have been happy to spend time with her. However, she was dead set against the Light faction, who she viewed as upstarts that arose during her ‘nap’ of several thousands of years.
Although no one gathered at the Table was certain, there were private wagers that Vex was older than Nif.
Of course, no one was suicidal enough to state that to her face.
People had died in her arms with expressions of complete satisfaction for less, after all.
“Fine. As long as you make a binding agreement of non-interference, and non-aggression during this time, I guess it will be good enough.” Nif said, his face tired.
“Of course.” Vex said, with a bright blinding smile.
A few minutes later and the Pact that would doom Vespar in the future, was made.
Vex smiled brightly the entire time while thinking, Fools that underestimate the White Tree, they will all turn into fertilizer soon enough!
Considering a small part of her debt repaid, Vex departed to enjoy herself further in the bright green new world.
Perhaps she might even be nice enough to let that pathetic High Human satisfy her, at the end.

Ryan doesn't remember much about his life before becoming a dungeon core. Only that he had a bit of a disagreement with the church -- something to do with a beheading?
