High Paladin Eckhart stared at the enormous tide of humanity below the steps of the temple. Activating his holy magic, his voice reached out to the assembled units below, “Today is the day of our victory!”
“For too long have the demons in this land oppressed us! For too long have we cowered in fear, afraid of the very creatures that hunt us!” he said.
The towering square remained silent, as flames lit in the eyes of all the believers.
“It is time! Time to drive back the darkness, time to reclaim our land from the invaders!” continued Eckhart, a soft glow of holy light surrounding him as he spoke, “Today, here, now, we will open the portal to the depths of one of the Seven! Our forces will flow through, united in purpose, invincible in intent!”
“The leader of the succubus will fall! Death to the Queen!” shouted Eckhart, holy fury shining from his brow.

*Tree.*
Hmm? Is someone calling? Tell them to come back later I’m having a nice dream of crunchy insects. I’m certain I left a few messages in the death traps and guardians surrounding me that inform people not to bother me.
*Tree.*
Dammit, I’m almost fully awake now. This had better be more important than the inspiration I was looking for lately on how to create a physical form for Dryad.
*Tree.*
“IF THIS ISN’T IMPORTANT, I WILL BE DISPLEASED.” I said, finally growing fully awake.
My vision was met with throngs of metal clad humans fighting against a tide of Vex’s various pets.
I could spot various Lieutenants of Vex at different points in the fighting.
Strangely enough, someone had expanded the room I started sleeping in.
Although the room was bigger than a football field now, everyone was careful not to approach near the ash line that encircled me in the center.

From the amount of remains, it appeared someone, or several thousand someone’s, had attempted to reach me.
If they had been innocent victims of the battle around me at the moment, there wouldn’t have been any fatalities.
After all, if some small innocent demon child or mild mannered puppy got obliterated by my defenses I’d be unhappy.
*What in the purple pink people eaters of the Carnivorous Green Lady’s garden is going on?*(Tree)
*Humans are invading Vex’s castle.*(Dryad)
Wait, humans?
There were humans on this planet? Why didn’t anyone bother to mention this?
Ah, wait, I remember right before I went to take a nap there was mention of two legged insects.
*They don’t seem to be doing very good.*(Tree)
*That’s because we killed the High Priest leading them. He attempted to use us as a rallying point.*(Dryad)
So some rat bastard thought he could just approach me?
Clearly my defenses worked just fine. If he’d been a true innocent man, and the men following him didn’t mean me harm, they wouldn’t be ash right now.
*Should we help Vex? It doesn’t look like she needs it, but if she’s a friend of yours…*(Tree)
*Nah. She can handle it. The really dangerous humans are being cut off from the rest by her subordinates. After that two or three of her daughters drink them dry. I’ve seen quite a few new techniques that should be easily applied when I have a physical form.*(Dryad)
Yes, a physical form…dammit!
I was so close to getting inspiration on that while sleeping…
*Can you ask Vex if she can store some of the attackers for me? I would like to run a few experiments with ‘humans’ from this place.*(Tree)
*I can already state with full confidence that Vex will want a trade of something. Probably a new set of pets, something not feline or canine based.*(Dryad)

Watching the last few humans flee through the portals they had used to invade, I shrugged my branches.
*I guess I could whip something up, as long as she provides more ‘ingredient’ for my use.*(Tree)
I don’t mind helping out a friend after all.
Even if she does have wings, horns, a tail, and inhuman beauty, it isn’t like I don’t have bark, twigs, branches, leaves, and godly glowingness.
A flexible mind is what let me keep my sanity to start with when I woke up after all.
Well with the excitement over, I'm going back to sleep for a little bit.
I know I can figure out a way to get Dryad a physical form if I can just remember more about atomic power.

The Voice of the World
Jason Elric used to be an ordinary college student living in the heart of San Francisco. He had a part time job, he played online games with friends he got along moderately well with, and he earned reasonably good grades. The worst he really had to worry about in life was turning in his coursework on time and not being late to class. Now, though? Now fighting for his life and running from a horde of giant frogs that want to make him their next meal is just another Tuesday. Thanks to a summoning ritual gone terribly right, Jason has found himself trapped in a world eerily similar to the role playing games games he used to play for fun. Unfortunately for the now ex-college student, everything happening around him is terrifyingly real and if he wants to survive, he’ll have to figure out how to exploit the system for his benefit before it’s too late. The Voice of the World is the first part of what is planned to be a multi-book, Isekai LitRPG story with crafting elements, set in the fantasy world known as Verdania. This is my first time posting online for public consumption, so bear with me as I work to find a style that people like. While I may occasionally write scenes that may deal with heavy concepts, expect this story to be primarily light hearted high fantasy. There will be a lot of common fantasy tropes involved, as this story got its start as a simple practice exercise, rather than any plan to actually post it. However, it’s grown on me, so I felt it’s worth sharing after all. Thus, if you’re looking for more serious/original/unusual stories, you might want to look elsewhere. For the rest of you, feel free to leave suggestions, as well as to point out grammar and spelling mistakes; I’ll do my best to make edits to correct them. I do my own editing currently, and it’s easy to miss things when you know what’s supposed to be there, so such call outs are highly encouraged. Content TLDR: No harems, probably no romance (unless it makes sense for the story later on) (it did, eventually), definitely no sex (keeping this PG-13 or close to it), limited profanity. Does/Will contain mixes of magic and technology (think Warhammer, Final Fantasy); copious amounts of blue tables; race, gender, and sexual equality concepts; crafting sequences; and (slightly, but not overbearingly) strong protagonists. If you don’t like these things, go elsewhere instead of downvoting people for content instead of writing quality. Update Time currently varies, due to personal injury, but the goal is 1/week on Wednesdays, with a possible smaller chapter on weekends if time/health permits.

The System Slaves
Heroes selected from all races competed to prove their race worthy of living free. The Troll heroes failed... miserably. Their Race is paying the price. Most Trolls lost their sentience. This Troll did not, and now he must serve the system and try to prove his race worthy of redemption. Thing is, it's hard to save a race when you can't understand the squiggles that appear in your vision. It's even harder to save a race when you can't tell which thoughts are yours and which thoughts the system put in your head. And what do you do when you never loved Trollkind in the first place? .......................... Update Schedule: Two or more chapters a month. 1500+ words. I am a new writer so bear with me, correct my grammar, and point out things you want to add. I plan on finishing, it may take a while though. The cover isn't mine and isn't exactly the way I like it, I'll be on the lookout for something that fits better. ....... This is a Litrpg story, I kinda regret making it so, but what's done is done. The system is clunky and I forget stuff sometimes, don't hesitate to point out stuff that looks wrong or is wrong. There will be some cultivation aspects and some kingdom building later on.

Braza the Architect - Magical Crafter, Builder, and Adventurer!
This is the story of an older man who lived a hard but full life, being reincarnated into a fantasy world as a human-lizard hybrid. The new world is violent, magic is real, a game-like development system crushes physics and natural law under its ambivalent thumb, and myth and legend don't just meet, they chase you down to eat you.Follow Braza as he tries to make a very different life for himself in a familiar but ultimately alien world. In this story the protaginist will not just be a muscle bound monster. He is not a proper hero, willing to sacrifice himself for the good of a stranger, but neither is he a maniacal villain. He is trying to survive, and he is trying to give himself and those he deems himself responsible for a seat at the table of the"goodly", the "civilized" races. He is trying to create a secure home for his people, to arrange beneficial trade agreements, explore ancient ruins, decipher ancient runes, push the boundaries of magic to create a better life for everyone around him, to learn about the history of the world and the multiverse, and ultimately attempt to become powerful enough to take on a being that even the gods themselves fear. This is my first story and it blends many different elements and styles. It's a bit darker than most of what I have read on Royal Road, but even with that, I hope you give it a try, and I hope you like it!

The Foretold: Sun Child (Complete)
As a sixteen year old commoner, your future is bleak. Worse, your appearance sets you apart from others. Your only achievement so far, is befriending the second son of the Lord of the Keep. He has been your only friend for eleven years, initially partner in mischief and later your hunting companion and confidant. Now your friendship is being torn asunder, he has turned eighteen and is being sent away to become a Judge Knight Aspirant. What is to become of you? Before your friend leaves, there is murder and conspiracy! Magic left the land hundreds of years ago, all you have is your bow and hunting skills, nevertheless you must fight to survive and save another to have any hope of a future! Note: The graphic isn't mine; it is a re-imagining of a few separate images, any objections by original artists let me know. N.B. If you are looking for Sexual Content every chapter, or every second, third or fourth chapter this isn't the story for you - the Sexual Content is required for a plot device, not a way of life and the later chapters reflect that - please stop dropping Low Ratings when you feel I haven't met your idea of "fan service". This is finished as much as a multi book vision can be finished. At 750,000 words give or take and very little readership I can only blame myself. I have learnt a lot, possibly forgotten a lot as well! I will probably return to the Chapters at some point - a touch up here and a touch up there. The second book though will probably remain in my head for a very long time, so yes "cliffs" although I hope the characters and their motivations are developed enough that you can have a good guess at the content of Book Two and tell me so I can confirm or deny! This isn't a LITRPG where classes are developed, great foes are defeated by a hero of immense power. This is a story based within (I hope) a very real and consistent culture, that leaves breadcrumbs for the reader to work out what the heck is happening and why. This is a slow burn story as the MC is stumbling around discovering her new place and role. Author's Note (Apr 2021): I dropped the Fantasy Genre for the Mystery Genre, because while the setting mentions magic, is it about past glories and trying to return to them. Whereas the MC from Chapter One doesn't understand her predicament and the range of mysteries she must solve to survive. If I have this wrong PM me and I will change this back.
