The monsters within the immediate vicinity are acting rather strange.
At first they continued to charge forward, and thus, disintegrate.
Now, things have changed.
The creatures, no, the Horde seems to have something similar to a hive mind.
They are standing right outside the range of my Domain, staring.
Except…
They aren’t staring at me.
The creepy feeling as Horde of creatures stare at something in the distance is very unnerving.
Something is approaching, something on the level that they instinctively recognize as a threat.
Not only that, I can tell by the fact that none of them are moving, it’s something worse than a threat.
It is something they fear.
With the knowledge that the Dao exists in this place, my mind strolls over horrific possibilities.
In theory anything practiced to the apex can be deadly.
Even something as amusing as chopping vegetables, boiling water, or throwing a single punch.
There are however, ‘Daos’ that give themselves more to widespread destruction than others.
I consider Fire a cheat because it’s good at both single target, and area of effect damage.
Although, if forced, I would admit that something like the Dao of Disease could cause worse area of effect damage. Nothing really beats watching your opponents decay from flesh eating bacteria, right?
And something like the Dao of Light could do even better single target damage, lasers for the win, right?
At first the change in the demons around us is slow, almost invisible. If it weren’t for my sight being inhuman, and based on energy detection, I probably would have missed it.
Unfortunately, I can see clearly what occurs.
The surrounding demons, devils, or whatever their name is in this place are being drained.
The effect is so miniscule that it’s barely noticeable.
I can clearly understand the terror though, this effect seems so minor, because the creature causing it is a long way off.
As the effect grows though, it indicates they are coming closer.
Since the effect grows exponentially, they are moving, very fast.
I’m not affected, only due to the Domain.
Nothing that can harm me can cross to me, unless of course it is more powerful than my Chaotic Everburning Flame.
I am, to note, severely joyful that this drain effect is not more powerful.
I may never have been so happy in my entire plant based life.
