《Different World along with One Piece System》Chapter 19 - A new town

In the sea was a very large ship, or should I say island? It wasn’t moving too fast, but if compared to a normal ship, it could easily beat it in a race. This island ship was home to the Red Dawn pirates.
Yan had a hard time coming up with this name, but he finally choose it. The name didn’t have a special meaning to him, but it was a name that everyone could easily remember. Something that would leave a great legacy behind even after he is long gone.
Yan was afraid of others coming to take his ship, but when he tried to let Leah steer and control the ship, it wouldn’t budge for her. He even tried to have Dex and Vixen give it a try, but the ship also would not move for them either.
He came to the conclusion that no one else would be able to control his ship. Maybe it was due to it running off of his flames, or something the system did, whatever it was, he didn’t know the answer.
A day ago they were flying in the sky, but now they were in riding in the sea. It was nice to fly in the sky, but there wasn’t a need for them to be in the sky at the moment. Besides, it would be too much for them to continue using the flying swords. They only had two of them, but as the crew grows bigger, it would not be enough. So the only option was for them to be in the sea.
It was easier for people to get on the ship from the sea rather than fly in the sky.
The island ship also had a secret room located at the bottom of it, that stored smaller ships. Yan picked up his solo boat, while Leah brought a small ship big enough for twenty people.
Yan decided that it was time to announce his arrival in the world. He needed to show the alliance that they had someone to be aware of, a group they should fear.
Today was the day that the Red Dawn pirate crew would show their face.
There was a few bounty missions he decided to do this time. With Leah’s information he was able to find a suitable headmaster of the alliance. This person's strength was at the peak of the Sage realm, while also having around five thousand disciples in his sect.
His bounty missions included; Killing a headmaster from the alliance, killing a thousand alliance disciples, robbing ten thousand silver, burn the alliance’s branch sect, and a couple of other missions.
Yan found out from the system that he could complete as many bounty missions as he could. If he completed a certain amount of missions in a day, then the bounty system would reward him.
Yan was not going to do the type of bounty missions that could only be completed if he raped people, burned or skinned their body, kill children etc. He wasn’t that type of person. He was hesitant about killing a thousand alliance disciples, but Leah told him that not all alliance disciples were good.
His first task would be to check out the town to see what it was like and what type of influence the alliance had on the town. He wasn’t one to protect the citizens, but he wasn’t heartless enough to let them suffer either.
Yan put his orange hat on his head as he turned his head to Leah, Dex, and Vixen. They were on a black ship, with Vixen at the helm.

“Let’s go.” Yan said as the solo boat flew out at lightning fast speed with his purple flames as the source.
As his solo boat flew across the sea, he caught sight of a port. The others were behind him, he couldn’t see their faces but only the ship. Yan went to dock his solo boat.
After waiting for almost half an hour, the others arrived. They docked the ship, as they all got out.
Vixen was wearing an outfit like Koala’s, except she didn’t have the hat. She let her hair flow in the wind. Even Yan had to admit, she was damn hot.
As for Dex, Yan let him wear the outfit Basil Hawkins wore before the timeskip. When he first saw it, his eyes almost popped out in amazement. The quality was top notch, and it made him look like a badass.
Although he wasn’t all that fit, thanks to him cultivating it still looked good on him. He didn’t need words to describe Leah, she looked good in anything.
Yan looked at Dex, “You and Vixen go find us an inn. Two rooms, that should be enough. Book it for four days.”
Dex nodded his head. Yan was still suspicious of Vixen, although she cooked them food and seemed to enjoy being with them, he couldn’t be too careful. It wasn’t easy going from a prisoner to a comrade.
Who knew if she would still want to run away. With Dex with her, he could keep an eye on her.
Dex and Vixen both left, leaving Yan and Leah alone. “Let’s check out the town, afterwards see if you can get into the sect. With you inside, we’ll be able to gain a lot more information.”
Leah nodded her head as they both left the port.
The first thing that caught their eye when they entered the town was the dozen or so beggars. Skinny, with ripped clothes and dark rings around their eyes. A few held signs up, while others were on the ground with damaged goods in front trying to sell them.
Yan saw this scene tons of times back in his other world. There, some people dressed up like homeless people to get free money, but here, he knew that it wouldn’t be the same. Who would lower their standards down, just to make a little change?
Leah glanced at them for a moment, but turned her head away from them not saying anything. She didn’t need to say anything, Yan could see it in her eyes.
She grew up with a golden spoon in her mouth, this was probably her first time seeing something like this. Even in Shing city, the poorest of people still had a home to back to. Here, it was different.
Yan wasn’t going to be the type of person who would go up to them and give them some gold or silver for free. However he couldn’t let this go. He was still human, he had a heart. Even if everything else changed about him, his heart would never change.
Yan walked over to the dozen or so beggars. Leah walked over with him by his side, while the beggars eyes lite up like fireworks.
Naturally one of the reasons why their eyes lite up was because they never saw someone so daring to walk around naked. Even the woman by his side was showing a lot of skin, which wasn’t something a normal woman would ever do.
Still, business was business. They wouldn’t dare provoke these two, if they wanted their damaged goods, then so be it!

A few of them started shinning their goods, while others put on smiles and pointed to their goods. Anyone who had a decent heart seeing this scene would be unable to bear it. How could you not toss a little change to them?
“Sir, my goods are excellent! They’ve been in my family for many years, however i’ll sell it to you for a good price! 2… no, 1 gold coin!” A young boy with dirt over his face started advertising his goods. Yan took a quick look, but it was only a broken mirror.
“Miss, you’re pretty, I have this necklace that could turn even a skeleton into a goddess!”
“No, buy my goods!”
The advertising continued as they tried to have Yan and Leah buy their goods. In their hearts, they knew that no one would buy their broken things, but they still had to try.
Usually one would ignore them and continue walking away, or curse at them, however Yan and Leah approached them. Naturally it gave them hope.
Yan shook his hands, “I don’t want any of your goods, I just want information. I’ll give you compensation for everything that you know about this town. One piece of information per person.”
“Sir! Th-” A few voices shouted out, but when Yan glared at them they shut up.
His glare was cold, they could feel it in their bones. He was not someone they should mess with.
“Don’t shout, line up in order. One by one, you’ll tell me what you know.” Yan gave a command.
The beggars followed it too, slowly forming a line. The old people who could hardly stand were held up by some of the younger.
One by one, they gave Yan information regarding the town. Some of it was related to the sect by the town, while some was related to the town itself.
It gave Yan a general idea of what happened to the town. Yan gave all of them fifty gold coins, he didn’t think that was enough for them, but it was more than what they were worth. Even the information they gave could be overheard in a tavern, or an inn.
Instead of doing that, he listened to them and compensated them.
Leah didn’t say a word the whole time, it seemed as if she was in deep thought the whole time. Maybe she still couldn’t wrap her head around the sight, but this was only the beginning. The world was big, not every place could be a holy land.
Where there is light, there is bound to be darkness. This may be her first time ever coming across a small amount of darkness.
Afterall, with her grandfathers power, and the vast amount of money made from the auction house, who would dare harm them? She knew that the strong ruled over the weak, but she didn’t think it would be as drastic as this.
Yan tapped her on the shoulder. She looked up and him, “Let’s go, this was only at the entrance.” He told her.
Nodding her head, she followed him. However before she left, she took one more look behind her. The beggars were in tears as they held the gold in their hands.
She turned and glanced at Yan from the corner of her eye. ‘Was I mistaken?’
Just as Yan told her, that was only the entrance. As they continued to walk around the town, they spotted more and more sights like that at the entrance. At everyone, Yan did the same thing. He made them get in a line and tell him information about the town.
Most of the information was old, while a couple of things were new. As they left the beggars, she couldn’t help but see Yan in a new light. When she heard him say that he was a pirate, she already had an image in her head. That image was thoroughly shattered now.
“Yan… what kind of pirate are you?” She couldn’t help but ask him.
Yan looked at her for a moment, then turned back. “What are you talking about? I’m just a normal one.”
She shook her head, “From what I know, pirates would not do what you are doing. Instead, they would kick those beggars while they are down. You aren’t like that, you’re different.”
Yan laughed a little. “I’m normal, they aren’t. The greatest thing one could do, is never forget where they came from. Don’t get me wrong, i’m not a nice guy. I’m a pirate, naturally i’ll take what I want.”
Yan learned a few things from the beggars. One was that this town was called Skyfall Town and that it was doing good until last year. Before, the alliance had no reason to put up a sect in this town, but then they found out some people who committed murders long ago hid here. Now they opened up a sect here, to get rid of all those murders who came here to escape.
With them came their disciples who thought they were the best and brightest. It was a minor sect without a lot of strength, even the headmaster was only a Sage realm cultivator. However, he was still the strongest person here.
When the disciples were bored, they came here in secret and bullied the citizens of the town. Yan learned that some of the beggars could be considered noble figures in this town, but were made to give up their items in exchange for their life.
They knew that the disciples wouldn’t murder them, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t tear up their house, mess with their food, and cut of their friendships with others. If they did that, they would really die.
Some said they would tell the alliance on those disciples, but they retorted they are the alliance. How could the alliance disciples be such bad people? How could they go against all they said? This wasn’t the alliance, this was an organization who used the alliances name in their favor!
The citizens wanted to revolt, but when they started gathering a force, their livestocks disappeared. Money went missing, and debts grew.
When this problem emerged, the people who wanted to revolt instantly dispersed!
Yan’s hesitation to murder those thousand disciples of the alliance went away. A thousand? Even if it was the whole sect, he would kill them all!
It wasn’t because of the people in the town, but because if he killed off a whole sect belonging to the alliance. His name would rise even higher!
Yan was sitting in one of the only inns left open in Skyfall town. Dex, Vixen, and Leah were next to him at the table. He would normally order a lot of food for himself, but since food was low, he couldn’t.
“Dex, you’ll be with Vixen again. Secretly follow her around, while she gains information from some of the disciples who come to town.” Yan told Dex.
Dex wanted to ask how she would gain information, but he soon understood. Vixen was a beauty, she would be able to easily capture the eyes of those disciples.
Yan looked at Leah, “Same plan. You’ll still go and join that sect. Find out where the headmaster is, where the disciples hang out, anything that will be of help.”
Leah nodded.
“What are you going to do?” Dex asked.
“I have a few ideas in mind. There should be a small village not too far from here, i’m going to pay them a visit.” Yan told him.
Dex didn’t ask any more questions, he believed that Yan would do something productive. Yan also didn’t tell Dex about what he heard was going on in that village. It was best to keep it to himself, and Leah more than likely wouldn’t tell anyone.
They enjoyed their meal, before they split up. As everyone left the inn, Yan was left sitting at the table. “How long are you planning on hiding?” He asked.
The table in front and behind him were both empty, so who could he be talking to. He didn’t get an answer, so he turned around and pointed his finger at the empty table behind him. His finger lite up with purple flames.
“Still plan on being silent?”
“Fine.” A voice called out as the table that was empty, had a person sitting there. A middle aged man, who was wearing a gray robe asked. “How did you know I was here?” The middle aged man asked.
“I have my ways.” Yan told him as he got up from his table and sat at the table the middle aged man was at. “Now, shall we have a talk?”

Back in the Late Antiquity Era, the protagonist meets his untimely demise. But Heaven and Earth always leaves a way out, his new cultivation journey begins anew on the path of reclaiming his former strength and defying Fate.---This is a story about a native cultivator of the Gu world. He lived in the era of/before Spectral Soul Demon Venerable (two venerable eras before the main RI plot). He suffered the rise of the demon venerable, barely able to make his arrangements before his death. He manages to rebirth, but doesn't everything go as planned. The story starts off in an isolated small word (grotto heaven), until the MC can grow and reclaim his former glory, before surpassing it. (long way, he was already rank 8 before) The MC has a pragmatic worldview, aligned with what you would expect from someone living hundreds of years in that kind of hostile environment. He doesn't shy away from immoral acts if it benefits him. The MC bears close resemblance to Fang Yuan in this regard, but his goal is not eternal life. One of my aims was to showcase the later introduced cultivation rules into the mortal cultivation (dao marks, attainment etc.) and explore novel scenarios within this highly technical cultivation environment.
