《Different World along with One Piece System》Chapter 2 - I'll also become the greatest swordsman!

Yan D. Yu was seated on the ground with his eyes closed. Naturally he was browsing through the One Piece system that he just got.
To his surprise he could actually gain and use another devil fruit like blackbeard. However, it was an ability called ‘Twin Usage’ that costed him 250000 points.
There was another ability called Custom which costed as much as one Devil Fruit. At first Yan D. Yu was outraged, going as far as saying I your father have am being cheated! After a careful read, he found that he wasn’t being cheated. ‘Custom’ gave him the ability to fuse together two Devil Fruits with similar attributes, to make his own Devil Fruit. This was perfect for him, as now he would fuse together the Mera Mera no Mi and the Pera Ni Lu Jo. It was the name given by the system for that Devil Fruit, so Yan D. Yu didn’t question it. He couldn’t wait to see what it would be like to combine both of them into one. The sad thing was that before he could combine both of them, he needed to eat both. The only way he could eat both without dying would be if he brought Twin Usage!
The price to be the best really was an outrage!
The system had all the Haki, except they were broken down into different levels. There were a total of five levels for all three Haki, and each one was at least double of what it costed previously!
For such a great cheat, the price that needed to be paid was an outrage! This made Yan D. Yu cough blood just looking at it.
He didn’t even dare look at the prices for Awakenings, considering that they were just introduced in the manga before Eiichiro Oda disappeared. If they were so powerful, then he already knew that it would cost way more than his soul.
What cost the lowest amount of points were the ships, clothing, weapons and weapon styles.
As he closed the system and opened his eyes, Yan D. Yu knew he had a long journey ahead of him. This was only the first step of his into becoming the King of the Pirates.
Yan D. Yu stretched his arms and yawned as he stood up from his seated position. “Lets try this out!” He pumped himself up.
Both his feet were planted on the ground firmly as his hands were locked to his side. Thumb pointed up, with his index finger and middle finger pointed out. This was one of Ace’s moves, Fire Pistol.
As he was all set, Yan D. Yu felt something burst out of his fingers at a lightning fast pace.

Two small condensed pellets of fire shot out of his fingers and smashed against a tree. The tree went up into flames instantly. The fire spread to the surrounding trees.
“Shit, I your father should have been more careful!” Yan D. Yu was so excited he didn’t realize that he could cause a fire.
Well it’s too late now. Fire wouldn’t harm him since he was in full control of the fire element, so he wasn’t scared. However, all the trees would be burned to a crisp.
Shrugging his shoulders, he decided to try another move. If the forest was going to catch on fire, he might as well help it spread faster while practicing.
This time Yan D. Yu’s arm was pulled back and his fist tightly balled up. A scorching hot flame emerged and spread out like it wanted to escape his hand.
‘This shit is hot!’ Even though he knew it was his imagination, just seeing that blazing fire his hand made him realize how powerful fire could be.
He knew that the longer he charged up his flames the greater the output would be, thus he held it for a bit. As he threw his fist forward, the energy within him flew out. He couldn’t help but yell, “Fire Fist!”
A long streak of red fire gushed out of his hands and flew in a straight line. He didn’t know where it stopped, but whatever was in it’s path surely got burned to ashes.
All the tree’s that his ‘Fire Fist’ hit were burned to ash, and even the grass on the ground could no longer be seen. In his view was an open pathway, with a wonderful view. The few trees that didn’t turn to ash had caught on fire.
Yan D. Yu felt tired, as if all the energy in his body had been drained. He was full earlier, but now he was starving! “No wonder those guys ate so much!”
Yan D. Yu was only thirteen. He still had a long time before he would set out on his adventure. Even if he wanted to join one of those high end sects, he would still need to gain more power.
He knew that thanks to Ace’s Devil Fruit, normal physical attacks would no longer hurt him. However in those novels he read, and his current knowledge these cultivators had more to them than just normal attacks.
Thanks to the fire, he would be able to lure out more magical beast. With them out in the open, he figured as long as he got one good shot in he could kill them. How hard could it be?

Yan D. Yu walked in the path where he launched his fire fist. The ground was burnt, and there were no trees in his path. He was sure that he at least killed something with that attack.
It didn’t take him long either as he spotted a group of magical beast cores lying on the ground. “I your father burnt their body to ash? Fuck, what am I supposed to eat?”
Yan D. Yu was upset. He was hoping that the beast body would at least be cooked for him, instead nothing remained. The only thing that was left was it’s core. Yan Yu’s father was a cultivator so he had seen these in his past. He knew that nothing could break or melt these things.
There were six cores on the ground, so he killed six magical beast with that attack. At least, in his one minute of walking all he spotted were these six cores. As he picked it up, a voice in his head asked if he would like to sell these cores to the system. He of course said yes.
As he continued to walk forward, he stumbled across more cores. Naturally he sold them to the system, the more he sold, the more points he would gain! This was like stealing candy from a baby.
Soon he stumbled to the edge of the island, and found a giant bear that smelled delicious. He couldn’t make out what it was, nor what kind of cultivation level it was at. However he would make a meal out of it!
There was only one problem, he didn’t have anyway to cut it’s meat. Sure it was dead, and sure it was cooked from his flames. However, how the hell is he suppose to cut it!
Yan D. Yu closed his eyes, as the One Piece system came into view. He jumped for joy when he noticed how many points he had. It was 20000 points. He hurried over to the weapon shop and brought Wado Ichimonji for 5000 points. Sure it costed a lot, but this sword would last him a lifetime! Even through all of Zoro’s fight, this sword has never let him down. He thought about buying Mihawks Yoru, but that costed twice as much as the Wado Ichimonji.
Once he gained the sword, the next thing he did was go to the abilities section and brought swordsman mastery for 100 points. Sword styles was next, currently he had three options. Tagashi, Zoro, or Mihawk. He knew of their style’s the most thus and he was confident in using them in this world. He only needed one style.
Zoro is best known for his three sword style, but Yan D. Yu doubted he would ever carry three swords. At most, he may carry two, but carrying one was all he needed at the moment. Mihawk’s style may be strong, but it costed too much. It was 10000 points just to learn the style! Takashi's was 5000 points, but out of the three it was weaker.
“Fuck it, I your father will also become the greatest swordsman!” Yan D. Yu announced as he brought Mihawks sword style.
He felt his body was engraved with different techniques, and that if he held a sword right now it would become a part of him.
Lastly, he brought Devil Fruit consumption, and energy converter from the ability. Devil fruit consumption made him use less energy while using his Devil fruit skills, and energy converter gave him a high energy boost whenever he eats food. This left him with only 200 points left, but he didn’t buy anything else.
Opening his eyes, Yan D. Yu was greeted by a white sheath. Yan D. Yu grabbed it slowly as his hands trembled. “The sword Zoro had, I your father, shall make it the greatest!” He announced as tears streamed down his face.
Sadly, its first taste of blood wasn’t going to be a swordsman. It was going to be the corpse of a beast!
Thanks to his swordsman ability, he knew how to wield, take care of, and properly use a sword. With Mihawks sword style, he knew every move that Mihawk had, and the way to draw out it’s maximum potential.
These things however meant nothing at this moment, as Yan D. Yu unsheathed the sword and cut apart the giant bear. It’s meant was at least cooked, and juice was flowing out of it. He couldn’t hold back and took a giant bite out of it.
He wasn’t going to lie, the taste sucked. It was probably one of the worst things that he ever put in his mouth, but it was food.
After he finished eating, he turned around and noticed half the forest was on fire. “Who’s the idiot that set the forest on fire?” He asked as he shook his head.
“The Le clan wants I your father to perish? Ha, just you wait. I’ll come back after I train here, and destroy you all!”
‘No matter how long it takes, until I polish my skills and hunt down every single magical beast on this island, I will not leave!’ Yan D. Yu vowed to himself.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. A chance to claw her way up the rigid social and financial ladder to make something of herself. A chance that wouldn’t come naturally to someone as familiar with dark alleyways and the glint of steel as she was with office work and corporate niceties.Book One is up on Kindle Unlimited as of 7/6/22 - https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0B2X3L8H5
