《This is the Wrong World! (Beta Version)》* Chapter 24 – The Raid

Izo had just gotten off the phone with her parents who were rather surprised that she had changed her mind. They tried to question her on the subject, but Izo replied that it was about time she did something to sacrifice herself for them. Her parents had been tear stricken by her heartfelt words. They made Izo promise that if at any time she felt this was too much for her to simply call it off and they would stand by her decision.
Izo taps her fingers in the basement of Marchen Inc. in deep thought. Though she had a really had a nice amour now to equip, Izo had been laying off getting back into shape. And now that she was a Minor God, she needs to sharpen her skills. There was no telling when she would be summoned to the Godly planes of existence.
However, her adventurer’s guild class was only at C-Class level. And last time around, she’d been rather lucky at finding the dungeon’s empty. There was no telling if she would be lucky next time.
With that in mind, Izo opens the market tab to purchase a disguise mask. Izo scans the items on sale and finally finds a mask with decent masking abilities.
Mask of the Dusk-Dawn [Uncommon]
Durability: 100/100
This mask will hide the user’s voice, scent, and even gender.
Please note: There are no other added extra stats and mask may not look as advertised.
Though on the downside, Izo’s voice and body shape would look like that of a man’s. However, Izo shrugs in reply, that really wasn’t that bad. Izo unhesitatingly clicks on the purchase icon.
The purchase has been confirmed!
Please check your inbox for your item and all funds will appear shortly in your account.

Izo checks her inbox and finds a simple fox-like mask waiting for her. Izo raises her eyebrow at that, it was through the world was trying to tell her something. Unable to make the connection, Izo shrugs the feeling off.
Climbing to her feet, Izo teleports directly to her room to find the fluff ball of Pucca curled up on her bed sound asleep. Pucca let’s out a chirp at seeing Izo, before curling back up. Izo suddenly has the urge to grab Pucca and roll the fluff blob into a ball and see if she can make a basketball shot with it.
Pucca as if sensing the dark intent of its master lets out a firm chirp like sound. Izo sniffs innocently and presses her hands into the blob’s fur. Izo keeps doing this until Pucca jumps off the bed and trots out of the bedroom in search of better company.
Izo snorts and closes the door behind her as she changes into some exploring clothes. Izo wasn’t worried as she still had her old travel packs in her inventory and an extra change of clothes. Done, Izo sits down at the computer to think as she tries to remember her guild login information.
To Izo’s rare luck, the password and username were saved on the computer. Izo searches for a C-Class dungeon nearby a B or higher-level dungeon. Well, Izo was in luck, there happened to be such dungeons, Rainbow Trails, and Rainbow Cliff. Rainbow Trails is a C-Class dungeon while Rainbow Cliff was an A-class dungeon.
With a smile, Izo also searches for C-Class ranked missions for that dungeon. To her weird luck once more, there were three missions that paid rather well and all Izo had to do was collect 100 Rainbow bones, 100 Rainbow flowers, and 100 Rainbow herbs.

At this point, Izo was filled with unease. Things were going far too well, it was almost as if her luck had changed. But that was impossible as Izo had warily checked her stats and nothing had changed as her Luck stat was still 5.
Uneasey, Izo emerges from her room and goes in search of Pucca. Izo finds Pucca napping on the couch as Izo carefully pokes Pucca awake. Pucca lets out an unhappy chirp as Izo suspiciously says, “So are you a lucky charm or what?”
Pucca merely rolls over to hide its fluffy head under a pillow. Being ignored, in such a way made Izo narrow her eyes. “I’ll give you a bath if you don’t answer,” Izo threatened.
That doesn’t even cause Pucca to flinch as Izo narrows her eyes in thought. “I’ll take you to a nursery, where little kids won’t be able to keep their grimy paws off of you,” Izo evilly declared.
Pucca let’s out a chirp of dismay and pulls it’ head out of it’s hiding place. Izo says, “For no, chirp twice, for yes, chirp once, and for maybe thrice. Got it?”
Pucca chirps once as if saying, “I agree, foolish master, now hurry up, I want to get back to my nap.”
Izo says, “Are you a lucky beast?” Pucca chirps thrice in reply.
“Okay, are you a battle beast?” Izo inquired, but Pucca chirps three more times once more.
“Fine, are you a magical beast?” Pucca chirps once in yes.
“Alright, then are you an item beast?” Pucca chirps twice in NO.
“Do you have a specialty?” Pucca chirps thrice again.
“Can you talk?” Pucca tactfully remains silent and sneezes instead.
Izo narrows her eyes in annoyance and says, “Start talking or I will shave all of you fur off.”
“Okay, okay!” A little boy’s or little girls voice said. “Sheesh, you’re anxious much.”
“Now answer the asked questions,” Izo ominously grumbled. “And tell me what you are.”
Pucca rolls it’s eyes and says, “I suppose you could say, I’m a fox god. But I’m only half-deity and half-demon, so who knows what I really am. I have both offensive and defensive skills thanks to my parent’s heritage.”
“So, if you’re a god’s child, how did I summon you?” Izo pointedly asked.
“Oh, that. I just wanted to scare mom and dad,” Pucca happily replied.
Izo almost chokes as a terrible horror falls upon her. She had kidnapped a God and Demon’s love child. She was so dead.

Tale of Tales
* Tale of Tales is a High/Epic Fantasy saga based on the motifs of ancient myths, legends, and forgotten fairytales * Senka is no hero, but you never know what is coming for you. And if that burns down your house and family, while you are left blinded by your house’s guardian snake, the outlook becomes grim. So Senka clings to her dog’s back to survive, unaware of the fateful prophecy and the great changes to come. But when a wandering warrior becomes her protector and mysterious strangers join their hounded party through a series of seemingly chance encounters, they all begin to discover that all is not as it seems. What is pursuing her? And why? Can the strange characters gathering around her on her desperate quest save her from doom? Are they mere puppets of a young, beguiling witch guided by her own hidden motives, or are forgotten shadows rising again from the immeasurable depths of time? A tale of folk fairytales and myths, of swords and sorcery and mythical beings – a unique story of dark times and unsung heroes who may light your way. Book one, A Strange Bunch, features leading characters of various ages. This is a fantasy with their progression happening slowly throughout the series, with occasional spikes in character power after certain encounters that may or may not be random. Although the book series is written with adult and young adult audiences in mind, it is, in the tradition of such epics as “The Lord of the Rings,” suitable for all ages. Excerpt from the scene depicted on the cover of the first book: “Above this hellish pack and the rider at the forefront, flurried a ghastly sight – a cloud of dark, endlessly bustling bodies and wings, a swarm of creatures that, through their almost infinite number, produced that great din which had first reached the ears…” RELEASE SCHEDULE is about once a week. The entire series should take around two and a half years of weekly chapter episodes, so do encourage me by reacting and following. Ratings are greatly appreciated!
