《This is the Wrong World! (Beta Version)》* Chapter 16.4– Guild Headquarters

The guild council had been hastily gathered despite the late hour. The members a diversity of humans and other species sat at the table. Mr. Wright, despite being clumsy, for once in his life his equilibrium understood the severity of the situation and permitted him to maintain his balance. Mr. Wright swallows at being in front of some many important figures. But he had wanted the promotion and now that he had it, he was desperately wishing he could take it back.
Nervously cleaning his glasses with his sweater vest, Mr. Wright takes the moment to breathe, before facing the expecting council. Mr. Wright’s voice squeaks at the start as he says, “To the guild members present, a matter of importance has been brought to the attention of the Policy Management. Our understanding is that Plasma Mountains is classified as a B-class dungeon. However, diverging reports have led us to speculate that it could have possibly evolved to an A-class dungeon,” Mr. Wright firmly said.
A silver-haired elf coldly interrupted, “Can these allegations be confirmed?”
“Yes, sir, various reports had confirmed that beyond the troll droves, a final layer exists. But no party had been able to pierce on through to the next level due to the heavy presence that existed beyond and the droves of monsters in their surroundings.
However, the matter of concern is the occurrence that happened within the last 24 hours. The weekly surveying team of the dungeon reported signs of unusual stillness emitting from the dungeon. Upon further inspection, the team entered the dungeon rather easily without being attacked. A massive slaughter of creatures had occurred as the monster groups that were usually seen were so small, that they posed no problem for the team.
The team was able to successfully pierce through even past the remaining troll droves. To their surprise, not only was the intense pressure gone but upon entering the final room. There were layers of bones on the floor and signs of an intense fight. The actual walls of the dungeon were damaged in the battle with no sign of either party. There were no traces found of the creature inhabiting that level nor of its opponent,” Mr. Wright steadily answered.

The council members gasp in shock. “Impossible! It has been scientifically proven that dungeon walls cannot be damaged by any means,” an older human male exclaimed.
“I understand your disbelief and surprise, sir. We were puzzled as well and did not initially believe the surveying group, but the group returned back with confirming images via a memory crystal. Please allow me to present them to the council,” Mr. Wright rapidly said as the council unanimously agreed.
The bright green crystal was placed on the table with Mr. Wright providing a trickle of mana to power the stone. The green crystal begins to glow and release images onto the white screen. The council member’s faces become solemn as they view the images.
“Are there no signs of the creature contained within?” Mrs. Partridge pointedly asked.
“No, Ma’am. As far as the surveyors and trackers can tell, is that the two parties fought. Either only one survived or both fled,” Mr. Wright nervously replied as Mrs. Partridge was notorious for smacking idiots with her wings.
“Then we have a large problem. Either two monsters are out in the open or one is a very present danger to innocent civilians,” Mrs. Partridge frostily said causing Mr. Wright’s stomach to quiver with fright.
“Yes, but what if it was an adventurer? Could that not also be possible?” A tan skinned human male sharply said.
“It could be, but if so, that still poses a problem, Mr. Balthazar. Either we have an adventurer hiding their abilities or an unregistered adventurer. Though these two are the lesser of the two evils,” Mrs. Partridge icily conceded.
The guild members are silent for a moment before a green haired dryad speaks up. “Then we watch and wait. Sooner or later, there will be signs of rampant monsters. And if it’s an adventurer, we have specialists to deal with those sorts of things. Instead, what must be done is declare the information regarding dungeon walls as classified. Are we not in agreement that such information may cause fear or lack of in the general populace?” The green haired dryad firmly said.

The council members despite conflicting opinions, they all agree to do so. A council member takes custody of the memory crystal leaving Mr. Wright to pointedly depart. With relief, Mr. Wright happily heads home to feed his pet bird, Paco. Paco may only be a barn owl, but he is excellent company. With that in mind, Mr. Wright only pauses to pick up dead mice for Paco as a treat. It wouldn’t do for Paco to starve.

Anchor Points: Age of Heroes
If you had a chance to reset history, knowing what we know now, would you take it? Six years after kicking an alien expeditionary force off the surface of the Earth back to their staging bases in the asteroid belt, and aided by stolen alien technology, the United Terran Republic Navy has finally achieved enough warship production to put the enemy on the run. Despite the facade of unity projected by the Earth's new federal government, deep cracks still lie under the surface that threaten the stability of world peace and the ability to protect humanity with a unified military response. Within this backdrop, the North American Union, now a mere state in the greater union, has created or reopened multiple off-books projects and black sites to house secrets both old and new that would be far too toxic or dangerous to be known to the wider world at such a delicate stage in world history. One of these secrets will draw Captain Henry O'Toole from his comfortable posting with the Jupiter Fleet straight into a world of conspiracies and secrets that could destroy the new, still fragile world order. Captain O'Toole will take command of mankind's first true starship with a secret mission that would be seen as treason by the new federal government. His orders are to use a prototype faster than light drive to travel through dimensions higher than spacetime and ride the expansion of the universe to create an off-books colony solely for the NAU. There are consequences for escaping time's jealous grasp, which instead position them to have a chance to change the course of human history. Fate has called the Indomitable Will and her crew into the Age of Heroes, will they be able to rise to the challenge?
