《The Mountain Lord》The Warlord - Epilogue

She was known as the Creator of Everything, yet she was unable to create a single thing, her power and energy being spent on keeping the remaining 72 members of the angel species alive. Each of her wonderful and beautiful children were kneeling in front of her resplendent throne in the white space that was her home.
“My sister has taken the bait and has started to infiltrate the seals,” the Creator’s voice echoed throughout the empty space. “As your world nears the time for intervention, I shall call your name. First up—oh, it seems we have a guest. Welcome, Sister.”
A ripple of fear went through the angels, for a moment they thought the Destroyer had somehow broken free of the seals and came seeking vengeance. They all cast a furtive glance in the direction of the intruder and when they saw it was their Creator’s other sister, a sigh of relief went through the kneeling angels.
“Well met, Sister,” the new arrival’s gentle voice drifted through the white space, gently caressing each angel’s auditory organs, making them shiver in delight. The Creator frowned at that.
“Why are you here?” the Creator harrumphed. “Here to plead for our depraved sibling?”
“Indeed, dear Sister. You must stop this insanity. We need to live in harmony, in balance. It’s the way we were shaped to be. It’s our destiny.”
The Creator let out a derisive snort. With a wave of her hand, a projection of one of the eight remaining original planets showed. The picture showed how the peacekeepers indiscriminately killed people they had arrested, how they used unnecessary force and violence against peaceful protesters. How the leader of the country lied and put his people at risk, for only his own vanity.
“Just look at how far the giant race has fallen!” the Creator shrieked, her countenance completely lost when she watched the scene in the projection. “That bitch might only have destroyed one world, but she corrupted every single one of my worlds! It’s all your fault, you were meant to keep balance, yet you failed!”
“I know, Sister,” the sister, known as Balance, placatingly said. “It’s why I helped you set up the prison for her. However, I did not agree to help you kill her. You have misused my trust and pity in you, Sister.”

“I don’t want your pity! I just want the bitch to pay for what she did,” the Creator roared, making the angels tremble in fear. “Do you know how hard it was to create seventy-two flawed planets and beings? Do you know how dirty I felt when I purposely corrupted the seeds that should have been pure? All in a bid to make them susceptible to her influence.”
Balance let her sister vent, before looking at her and said, “Do you know how lonely it makes me feel when my sister wants to kill my other sister?”
The Creator looked sheepish for a moment, but then anger flashed over her face again. “This is all your fault! If you had kept the Balance, my perfect worlds would not have been corrupted. This is all because of you!”
“If you hadn’t made the worlds dependent on each other, the fall of one would not have corrupted the others,” Balance pointed out. “You left our sister no choice. She might have acted prematurely, but if you had not made the nine worlds dependent on each other, you would still have eight perfect worlds.”
The Creator looked shocked. “You dare to blame me? I’m the victim here!”
“No, sister. I’m blaming all of us. We’re all equally at fault,” Balance said with a sad shake of her head.
“No, it’s both of your faults. Not mine,” the Creator vehemently denied. “I did everything right. It’s you who failed your duties! Leave, don’t ever let me see you again!”
“Very well, Sister, but I won’t let you kill our sister without a fight,” Balance said and vanished, leaving the white space in silence.
Hours went by before the Creator finally spoke up, “Forget what you heard that scheming bitch of my sister said. What we’re doing is right. It’s justice. It’s time to take action against the Destroyer, and destroy her.”
“Yes, Creator,” the androgynous voices of the angels rang out.
“As you know, the seal worlds are actually a trap for my sister. She’ll get the opportunity to slip into the world with a sliver of her whole self. However, when she goes to kill the wardens, one of you’ll be in place to observe how she does it. You’ll then use the power against her.”

“What if that is not enough, Creator?” one of the angels asked.
“Hopefully, it’ll be enough to destroy her, Bael. If not, we go to the backup plan, which is why each of you will be carrying a sliver of my essence in you,” the Creator said with a grave look on her face. “We’ll let ourselves be destroyed, observing and absorbing the way she does it and sends the technique to everyone else. She might not need to use a power that can destroy herself to destroy the wardens. She’ll definitely need it to destroy one of you when you carry my essence within you.”
“Yes, Creator. We will carry out your will,” the chorus of Angels chanted.
“Very well, my beautiful Children. The most perfect of my creations,” the Creator said. “There are three worlds that are approaching the time for the calamity. Belial, step up please.”
“I do so with honour.” The angel who stood up was resplendent in the eyes of the Creator. Neither male nor female. Ethereal beauty, six splendid gossamer wings on its back. Perfect in every way, a once in her lifetime creation. She would never be able to reproduce the magnificence of her first race.
With sadness colouring her voice, she gave the next name. “Furfur, step up please.”
Another angel rose, an exact copy of the first. Even the voice was the same. “I do so with honour.”
“And Amii,” the Creator finally said. The third angel stood up, echoing the two others with the same voice, the same look. The Creator looked over her three children that she knew were likely to die. However, a small sacrifice would have to be made to finally rid the universe of the corruption that was her Sister. When she had the power of both destruction and creation, she would ensure a perfect world for the few surviving angels. The eight other races would be wiped out. They had failed her.
“I’ll now impart a portion of my essence to each of you,” the Creator said and pulled three strands of hair from her head. With each strand, the light within her got dimmer. The strands floated down to each of the three chosen angels. When the strand of hair touched the angel it was meant for, a bright flash of light occurred and the strand of hair vanished.
‘I love you, my child,’ the words echoed in the head of each of the three angels.
“We love you too, Mother,” the three of them said. Emotion thick in their voice. They were no longer angels, they were Archangels, the carriers of the Creator. They were now allowed to address her openly the way every angel did in their hearts.
A portal opened in front of each of them and without any hesitation, they moved to step through. However, the voice of the Creator stopped them, “Be wary, though she left, I’m sure that my Sister has a trick up her sleeve. Balance has always used tricks to try and keep the peace between me and the Destroyer.”
“Yes, Mother, we will be alert for the interference of Balance,” the three of them said and stepped through the portal.
Amii, the protector of the 58th seal looked around the world they knew everything about, yet had never seen. Soon Camcesa would be embroiled in a war the likes of which they had never seen before, despite having been in a constant state of war or on the brink of war since the creation of the seal.
They quickly found the agents of the Destroyer and watched as a battle unfolded at the side of a lake. It was a small group of 5, and a small baby, against several hundred elves. No not elves, humans, magically changed to look like elves. The fight was vicious, but the end result shocked them nonetheless. The destructive power the Destroyer had bestowed her agent was more powerful than they had imagined.
With trepidation, Amii started to scout out the situation. They could not fail their Mother, not after everything she had done for them.
