Montgomery Kaylan

Age: ????(Predates the universe of the main setting by several eons at the least)

Species: Eidolon with strong undercurrents of vampire and Luxuriae(higher lust demon).

Description: Titled: The Laughter, Weeping, and Roaring at the Edge of Causality. Tall, dark, and handsome to the point of inspiring insanity. He generally does his best to tone it down a bit with a veneer of outward plainness that no longer really works thanks to Margot’s ascension to the rank of immortals. He has dark brown skin, and dark black hair, that has been turning increasingly pink as his and Margot’s strength grows. His eyes are filled with merriment, whimsy, and ill-intent. They occasionally glow. On good days, his eyes are green, on bad days they glow.

Margot Kaylan nee Wallace

Age: 27-28(at the making of this glossary)

Species: (???)Formerly-Human

Description: She used to be such a little bitty thing, but is now more than six feet tall. She has fiery orange-red hair. Pale skin like milk. She has large, kind of intense, gray-green eyes. If this wasn’t Monty’s journal, then she’d probably be the protagonist of this story. She’s hard working, and scarily competent at her job, but she has a tendency for doing rash things when pushed. She also used to have a complex and very dysfunctional relationship going on with her family. After years of abuse from her relatives, years of neglect from her parents, and a failed attempt to rekindle the barest kind of relationship with her mother and father, she’s finally realized that she doesn’t need the Wallaces and moved on.

Maci Kaylan nee Redgrave

Species: Elder Fae

Description: Moderately tall. Slender and fit. Pale skin. Blood-red hair, blood-red eyes. Maci Redgrave was the bastard child of a lustful and blood-crazed fae queen and a fallen angel. The aforementioned fae queen had many children with many men of various species but Maci and her sister, Darla, were the only ones who’d managed to resist their mother’s madness long enough to survive to this day. Maci was once a queen of the Winter Courts. She was also almost made into some kind of harvest goddess like her sister, Darla. She took a job with the DPAA and became work buddies with Monty, then when Monty and Margot started their own thing, she joined them in the Division of Cosmic Artifice. Helping them get the organization up and running.

Henrietta Albani [Kaylan Nee Albani]

Age: 32(at the making of this glossary)

Species: Human [???(Formerly-Human) Now she’s some kind of eldritch cyborg]

Description: Average height. Athletic build, with a fair amount of curviness that gets hidden away beneath her business formal suits and dresses. She had dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and a heart-shaped face that would have probably been attractive even without the gene boosting enhancements that the children of those with money usually were given. She is driven, hardworking, and ambitious. After years of living a life where every plan needed at least two or three other plans to bring it to fruition, she was kind of at a loss at what to do when she found a business partner who could make her wildest, most outlandish goals, into a reality with seemingly no problem at at. At first, she just went with it, trying to see how far she could take things. Then around the point when she found herself at the helm of an interstellar, interdimensional mega-corporation, she finally found her chill, the competition between her and her family long forgotten. Now she’s decided to focus on pursuits that made her happy. Following the heroic path of her villainous grandfather and becoming the mad scientist she’d secretly always wanted to be.

Mint Kaylan

Species:(Formerly a Demonbeast now evolved to an Eldritch-beast)

Description: In her beast form, she’s a flower-mawed, tentacle-tongued, green-furred, shapeshifting nightmare hound. This monstrous form is usually mellowed, to a form that’s smaller, cuddlier, and more adorable, looking like a cross between a terrier-mix and a poodle-mix. In her human form, she’s tan-skinned, green-haired, and green-eyed. She’s gone from being a cute little girl to being a beautiful woman, but has retained her bright and cheerful nature throughout the years. She’s a little too chill to be a full on genki-girl, but she’s still basically an energetic ball of living sunshine that brightens the lives of all her friends and family. She started out as Monty’s pet, she eventually graduated to the status of daughter and is a treasured and well-respected member of the family.

Filomena Kaylan

Age: 21 ½ (In her current incarnation at the time of this glossary) Between 100-250(In total if we count both lives)

Species: Spirit/ Golem

Description: Black and white hair. Silver and black eyes. Pale skinned. Taciturn, subdued, but decidedly warm-hearted. In her first life, she was born, Celestina Filomena Adesso. She was the first “third daughter” born into the family in decades and was as such a sufferer of the Adesso Curse. The aforementioned Adesso “Curse” was part of a deal between the family and an angel. The family was spared from the black plague, as part of a deal with an angel, where their survival was in exchange for the family’s aid in helping the angel restrain a certain pernicious cosmic entity. After the destruction of the cosmic entity, Monty took what was left of her soul and the piano her ghost was possessing, to create a new piano-golem. Which eventually became piano spirit. Which eventually became a member of the family.

Thomas Yu

Age: 25(at the time of the Glossary)

Species: Super Human(Transcendental Super Human)

Description: Dark hair, light tan skin, brown eyes, with rings of either gold at the edges of his irises. He is a superhuman with powers of light-manipulation and the skills of a sword-saint. He and Monty met during Monty and Margot’s Player’s League days. Thomas then went off to become a Hero in Japan, but after mixed results due to the Heroes Guild’s corrupt and insular atmosphere, he ended up getting a job with Monty at the Division of Cosmic Artifice.

Cassandra Neuville

Age: 51 (at the time of the Glossary)

Species: Kaporka

Description: Tanned skin. Dark, gray-blue, hair that’s usually tied back in a loose ponytail. Her dark blue eyes were heavily lidded making her look perpetually sleepy. She often dresses for comfort, usually wearing either jeans or a skirt that shows off her long tan legs. The limbs that are toned and gracefully athletic. She’s a friendly down-to-earth sort, but also cagey and guarded due to her time as a fugitive after escaping her life as China-Russian Unified State(CRUS) super-powered operative and experimental subject. She was the adoptive mother/Aunt to several children that the CRUS were raising up as future agents and experimental subjects. She is the former “Three-Eyed-Queen” a world class super-hero/super-villainess who did the bidding of the CRUS and the underworld patrons who helped her and her young wards escape the CRUS.

Ashley Neuvile

Age: 29(At the time of the Glossary)

Species: Kaporka

Description: Formerly of the Prospero Police Department. She’s one of the kids that Cass saved and took with her when she ran away from the CRUS. She looks a lot like Casandra, albeit, slightly taller and leaner. During her Hero days she was known as the Math Moth, this is due to her ability to manipulate force and energy so long as she can comprehend the mathematics involved. She eventually stopped being a hero because the corruption she saw within the heroes guild disgusted her, thus she came to work with Monty at the Division.

Dave Fitzgerald

Age: 52

Species: Human

Description: Dave Fitzgerald is a fairly new character in this cosmic-horror sitcom Monty calls a life. Dave was a big fellow, around six foot five. Broad Shouldered and built like a line-backer. He was an older gent, with one of the finest mustaches I’d ever seen. He and Cass met because he ran the Restaurant Supply Store that Cass switched to after the last one was shut-down by an infestation of moody teenaged devil-leeches. According to Cass, he was less of a new friend and more of an old friend that she knew from before when her life was more complicated, filled with explosions, and sexy. Case and Dave had a thing back in their days as a Costumed Hero and Villain and that eventually lead to them getting married now.

Douglas Neuville-Patterson

Age: 33(At the time of Glossary)

Species: Human

Description: Brown-black hair. Light tan skin. Blue eyes. He is a serious sort. Imagine a certain flying-mammal based hero from the comics, mixed with a certain inkblot test based hero from the same line of comics. Tone down their intensity and neuroticism by about a third, and you get Douglas. He and Monty had a distant but ultimately, friendly relationship. (Friend-like relationship?) It came as a surprise when he was the one who reached out to Monty first and got a job with Monty at the division. He’d known about the Hero guild’s seedy underbelly all along.

Darla Blackrain

Age: ???

Species: Half-fae/ A Goddess of Bloodshed, fertility, and harvests.

Description: Looks almost nothing like her sister, Maci, though they apparently have similar builds. Bearer of the title: The Waltzing Nothingness Amidst the Bursting Stars. A dark eyed, woman, with pale honey-colored skin. Commonly seen dressed down for comfort wearing a sweatsuit with her ink black hair done up in a bun and held in place with chopsticks. She smells of starlight, mischief and fire, and her body gives off a cold heat. She’s sexy, but scary, and those with eyes and common sense will notice the scary more. She’s surprisingly a good big sister despite her mischievous tendencies and queen mean-girl vibe.

Alexandria “Alex” Peterson

Species: Half-human/half-imp

Description: The girl was tall. She was taller than most girls anyway. She was also taller than more than a few boys she knew. She was tall and stick thin. She had unruly, curly, brown-black hair that she kept short for the sake of making her mornings easier. She had a square face with a rounded jaw. She had a small nose, long pointed ears, well-defined cheekbones, and full pouting lips. Her eyes were a sort of, glow-in-the-dark, bright-green. A long thin tail snaked out of her pajamas, ending in a pointed spade. Hinting at her demon ancestry. Started at the bottom, and now she’s at least no longer at the bottom, but she’s seen enough to know that even her mysterious patrons, the architect of Uhrwerk don’t dare call themselves the top. One of the key players of the Division of Cosmic Artifices new game of Doors.

Zara Serrano

Species: Half-human/half-mermaid

Description: A short and scrawny half-mermaid girl, with blue-green hair and scales showing at her temples. Alex’s best friend and partner in crime. Alex and Zara weren’t really friends by choice so much as it seemed that fate, destiny, or whomever, had decided to tie the two girls together back when they met in the second grade. Their mom’s worked and drank together, they lived in the same apartment block, and they’d been going to the same school for years now. They actually kind of hated each other a little, but after a brief experiment with hostilities during the ninth grade, they’d found that being half-assed friends was easier than being half-assed enemies.

Severin West, originally named Sevesation

Species: Half-Beastkin/Half-Human

Description: Tall. Dark green hair. Dark green eyes. With wolfish good-looks. He’s the reincarnation of one of Monty’s agents on a world known as Andern during his time working for the DPAA. When his world was destroyed, Monty made sure he was reincarnated in Uhwerk and rewarded with a better, happier, more comfortable life, as well as the retainment of all his memories from his old life.

The wolf in the legendary wolf and sword duo.

Catherine Greene, originally named Catherine no surname...or Experimental Subject XXXX

Species: Dhampir

Description: Petite. Pretty. Pale skin. Dark red eyes. Dark black hair. She’s the reincarnation another of Monty’s agents on Andern. She’s the partner and girlfriend of Severin. She had to wait a bit till he remembered their former-life but even then they were still childhood friends ane classmates due to Monty’s arrangements. She’s the sword in the legendary wolf and sword duo.

Carter Seth

Age: 34(At the time of the Glossary)

Species: Half-Human/Half Fae(Cat-Sith)

Description: Handsome. Silver hair. Silver-green eyes. Tan skinned. Million-watt smile. He’s the world’s hero. Quite literally. He’s the scion of the Seth family which not-so-secretly owns the entire planet and its world government. He’s also been the biggest pain in Monty’s backside, and though Carter seems to like him for some reason, Monty can’t stand him because he’s “heroic” 24/7, a complete try-hard, and has a bad habit of making his problems into Monty’s problems. He is also literally loved by fate, in that one of his girlfriends is a former-Norn, who uses her fate reading powers to his benefit.

Felix Seth

Age: ???

Species: Half-human/Half-fae

Description: Former Head of the Seth family, and its current chief Elder. Looks like an older, dandier, slightly less broad, version of Carter. He’s also a pain in Monty’s ass but Monty kind of likes him because the old man knows how to keep things light, and play things in a way that makes it hard for middle-ground, morally ambiguous, types like Monty to get annoyed.

Evelyn Wallace

Age: 54(at the time of the Glossary

Species:Human

Description: Red head. Average height. Pretty. Current head of the Wallace family, current CEO of Five-Wind Corp. The faint wrinkles that line her face undid the hard work of the age reversal serums and charisma boosting elixirs she’d taken over the years. She was dressed in a crisp, cream colored suit, and had her pointed nails painted egg-shell white. Held a deep grudge against her sister Margaret, and so had no problem abusing and exploiting Margaret’s daughter Margot when the women ran off to look for her no account husband. Using Margot’s magic to give her own kids a head start and leg-up on the rest of their peers. Evelyn suspects that she might be a bad person, but tries to rationalize it away, however she’s self-aware enough that when forced to look reality in the eye she knows damn well what she’s done. She regrets her actions but acknowledges that assuming a lack of foreknowledge she’d probably have done it again. A bad person, but also a decided good mother all things considered.

Joseph Wallace

Age: 55

Species: Human

Description: Not much to be said since not much was said about him in the story. (He’s strawberry blond. He’s got green eyes. None of this was mentioned in the actual story.) He’s Evelyn’s husband, and can roughly be considered the homemaker and caretaker of the household, though he does have his own little projects and business ventures that he takes care of.

Jasper Wallace

Age: 31

Species: Human

Description: Looks like his dad. Works for the government. Not much else to be said. He’s the oldest of Evelyn’s children.

Bernadette Wallace

Age: 29

Species: Human???(Working at the Division means running into a lot of anomalous things and being exposed to crazy amounts of anomalous energy...most people tend to find themselves exhibiting at least some forms of xeno-evolution or anomalous mutation after a couple of years)

Description: Meaner and wilder in ways both perplexing and frustrating, for Evelyn. It went without saying that things were somewhat strained between Evelyn and that particular daughter.

A perverse voice within Evelyn assured her if she could just pull the girl into line, Bernadette would make an excellent family head one day. A voice that Evelyn bucked against, repulsed by the similarity that this path would have to the one her mother walked. Horrified at the possible implications it might have for her grand-children if history repeated itself.

Red haired, pale skin. Green eyes. Pretty. Personality-wise, she’s kind of terrible. She was especially bad when she was younger and stupider like everyone else in the world. Growing up she was basically Margot’s biggest tormentor because Bernadette quietly resented the fact that she might not have been able to become a full-witch if it weren’t for her mother stealing a bit of Margot’s magic for her. Then she matured some and after going through some things she realized that she was kind of a huge asshole and genuinely does feel bad about it all.

Beatrice Wallace

Age: 29

Species: Human

Description: Looks exactly the same as her twin sister, save for the fact that Bea likes to dye her hair purple-blue. It’s technically part of the magical cultivation art she uses but part of its original appeal was giving a younger Bea an excuse to dye her hair that her mother couldn’t say no to. She’s a typical two-faced type. Her mom thinks she’s meek but responsible. Her sister knows she can actually be pretty scary when riled up. She pretended to be nice to Margot while secretly hating her and hating the fact that her mother made looking after the girl Bea’s responsibility. She thinks she’s pulled off her two-faced act, but its not as perfect as she thinks, so the people around her do have a general gist of what her actual personality is like. Which is why Margot hates her more than she hates Bernie. Because a false friend hurts worse than an open enemy.

Chloe Wallace

Age: 19 (At the time of this glossary)

Species: Human

Description: Looks like a younger version of her mom. Not much else has been said about her besides the fact that she’s the youngest of Evelyn’s children.

Margaret Cooke-Wallace

Age: 54

Species: Human

Description: Hair like fire. Her features strongly resembling a middle-ground between Evelyn’s and her daughters. Margaret is...complicated. Over all, one could arguably say she’s probably a better person than her sister, but that’s less because of any actual moral superiority and more because her greater talent and opportunities have made it so that she’s never had cause to be worse than Evelyn. This was proven to be so when her husband went missing during one of his magical experiments. She did a great many terrible things, and hurt a great number of people in her journey to get the love of her life back. This includes neglecting her daughter to the point of possibly, genuinely forgetting that she had a daughter. Even now that she has her husband back she’s shown no concern regarding Margot. Nor as she sown any desire to get to know the girl. Thus making meeting Margaret one of the biggest disappointments in Margot’s life.

Vergil Cooke

Species: Human??? (Traveling outside the boundaries of time and space without suitable protection comes with consequences. Mutating is one of the more lenient costs.)

Description: Dashingly handsome. A tall dark stranger from a foreign land. A master mage with a hunger for knowledge. One day, when Vergil was experimenting he was sucked into an aperture in space-time. His wife put everything on the line to find him. Sacrificing their only child. Vergil is self-aware enough to feel some guilt about this, even if it doesn’t actually make him act.

Director Fatimah Dillan

Species: Human???(She was born human but she’s seen and contacted a lot of strange things)

Description: Middling in height. Muscular in build. Tan skinned. Dressed sharply in a dark blue suit. Her auburn hair was streaked with gray and kept in a short, no-nonsense, hairstyle. She bore a severe visage etched with wrinkles and frown lines. Fatimah Dillan was the kind of woman you automatically just called “ma’am” regardless of how casual or formal you generally tended to be. She was the kind of woman that people stood up and saluted whenever she entered the room. Regardless of whether or not one had experienced military etiquette or not. Her presence commanded respect from mortals and immortals alike. Director Dillan spent most of her time in New York working out of a building that didn’t officially exist. Then after ENE happened she helped the survivors. Then when the world began to rebuild she ended up helping the new world order and becoming Direct of the DPAA. She’s older than the 60-something year old she seems to be, but actually her old person visage is just a disguise and her actual looks are a lot younger. She does this a personal choice, to keep in touch with the normal human that she used to be, but she isn’t afraid to put it aside if she needs to use the strength of her youthful physique. She is cutthroat, but honorable in her own way, and her main concern is the defense and protection of the people of Terminus-Earth and their allies.

Samantha Blue

Age: 26 for current incarnation(At the time of the glossary)

Species: Race

Description: Blond, honey-colored skin, blue(purple-blue) eyes. The reincarnation of the woman that cost Monty his first family. Killing them, then mutilating him, trapping Monty in his own skin, and then putting him and the souls of his dead family in what was essentially a torture machine where he would be condemned to try and fail to save his family from various fates worse than death for all eternity… Resulting in Monty gaining a better control of his powers and using that new found control to punish all of them, killing all of his attackers and tormentors but her. Who it turned out, he’d inadvertently saved, because him getting vengeance on her, saved her from being condemned to some sort of ultra-hell. She has a normal human family now, and is part of a small cultivator clan. She didn’t intend to run into him, since she was kind of afraid that he still was looking for her, and looking for vengeance, but when they ran into them, she forced a face-off. So that if he was going to go after her, he’d go after and not her family, and if he wasn’t then she’d at least know. Monty surprised her by hiring her but they both sort of knew it was a “keep your enemies close” sort of thing. She’s not looking for trouble though, and was also kind of happy for a job, so she’s been on her best behavior. She even got a cool new girlfriend out of the deal. She’s a shy, awkward, girl living with incredible guilt, because Monty’s first wife was her sister...and she feels largely responsible for all the deaths caused by her and her cohorts driving him crazy, leading to the destruction of an entire multiverse.
